Mar 16, 2024
Hi, I'm Casey, I'm Igor and this is our house, we have four kids, so this is our little Bondo. One side is a small house and then the rest is our barn mass. A store. Welcome to the store. This is where we work. which is a far cry from the long drive from home, so when we started designing the Bondo we were trying to figure out how to fit the RVs in the space with the shop and the house so we could spend a business, so we started. with one third of the space for a house and two thirds of the rest of the construction for a store or work and we also had some fun there with the gym that we have been working on, remodeling RVs, renovating RVs. we are passionate about it and we started, we did the first one and then it became a business and this is what we do today.

We took the RV into this bay, which we didn't take into account a slide, so it's smaller than they slide down from the motor homes that we normally work in uh this is where I live this is where I make the magic happen and most of the things I learned from YouTube and stuff like that and kind of improving my craft uh with the ears, but my two are located here eventually it will be a small office for Casey, she has a lot of paperwork, a lot of social media, that's her part of the deal , these are our little dogs, and we tried to divide the a little bit of space with storage on that side um Igor actually built this today, but here they are, these are my old competition saddles and now that we're in Texas we bought saddles western riding we have two they were wild horses we just train them and eventually we need a whole fleet so we want really fat ponies for the kids and just to do

family

trail rides on this side this is pretty much all like a traditional horse house full size, you know, your extra toilet paper, paper towels, really, it's just garbage.

I don't want to let it go, but since we have the small barn mass, we have room for it. There are helmets for everyone here. Sonny's doorman. Mimi just sent it in and then this is what you know about your traditional garage stuff. So this is ours. beach rack if we go to the beach um this is all Igor's hoarding um we have scuba gear paintball equipment rock climbing he can't surf we have surfboards we have our snowboards we live in Texas um but this is it that Igor was able to hide our U-Haul when we moved here and then here all the kids bikes and then when we had more time we lived in our CrossFit gym, now we can do this with a great idea of our barn mass is that we can exercise here for the kids. you can work with us this is our equipment it folds up on the wall and then this is our platform so we did Murph the Murph wad the other day and it's a good way to let our kids know what you know Burpee is, If they respond, they do burpees. the rower, the other Sunny sweater, our weight vest, but it's very functional, so one of the things is our little life, it's what you need.

You know, we have enough bedroom space, enough living room, but on rainy days, the garage is like this area where the kids can. play, they can ride their bikes around here, we can do chalk and it's that extra space that doesn't have drywall and it's so much more functional

ly for us that we could build this and work, exercise, play in it and have our little house, my only thing small, bright, small Bondo house, better. I would say depending on how many kids you have two bathrooms you kind of manage it to have two bathrooms especially as they get older right now we have a field where the kids pee outside which sometimes isn't ideal but they would be In the back we're working on it, but two bathrooms would probably be my only adjustment if we were to rebuild and I think the main reason it pushed us too deep into this life was basically either a business, I mean the recreational vehicle renovation. for two years now, yes we needed more space, we needed a store we are fully committed to this life, we live in the RV, it gave us perspective, yes we lived in New IV for a while so we understand what it's like complete. time is it helps, it's like our business is full time, this is we're doing really well, um, we take really bad RVs, ugly water damage and we try to hold them down and so on, and I think the most important thing is that we, we, is. because it's our life and it's because it's our

family

we create these recreational vehicles with a dynamic or life or family in mind and it's more than just a product that we feel, it's more like a you know, a lifestyle, yeah, you know, and we put our hearts into it and we're really excited to pour a river table or do the epoxy shower, that helps our relationship because I want to know where this is going, we learned a lot about each other, we learned a lot about communicating communication It's the most important thing we learn from this whole experience, so it's been great everywhere, welcome to the kitchen, so we built almost everything.

This is our top bar. The children do their homework. Eat. Usually it's actually very messy. that's all that's there, you can't see Igor built them, you can climb on them, they're like welded to the wall, it opens up the space, it's a lot easier to take things off, we only have as many plates as we have. People, that's a lie because the kids keep throwing bowls, so here's our farmers sink. This hides everything, but I wanted this so I could wash. Igor had a thing about having an old school faucet, but you still have this, which is key if you wash dishes, this is our water filter, the key so you don't have to buy bottled water, it saves you, the coffee maker, these are the cutlery, large cups and bowls or our smoothie products, and then choose our classic oven, much larger than our RV. oven and then we try to take advantage of the wall space, it's key to Tiny's life, so we do everything we can stack and then our refrigerator is adorable and we've gotten really good at storage and then this is snacks, like this that the kids are allowed to pick out Savage snacks, but that's our snack box, it comes from our old house and we can leave notes here if I need Eeyore to do something, our sets of keys, everyone's phone, this is actually the child's phone that has like Disney. in it um and then this is our section of the school so this is for Igor and I when we want to sketch a project so this was our bedroom this is our plan for the wall and then this is the children's homework that we We sit down every night with homework together and then this is our calendar um this is you and uh this is a place for everything so for a kitchen this size I would say it's perfect maybe maybe just the counter space , since Sunny was once big enough to sit here but we can actually cook throw it here less to clean and it works for our family while the kids are small eventually when they are bigger we could make it bigger but this is Perfect for now, these are the clothes in our pantry.
I don't know how messy this is. but we put everything in here, it's mainly dry products. This is key to saving space and you can see what you have so you don't waste food. And we have these, you can put out anything that the kids can put out and then. This side is for the kids' soap and then medicine, miscellaneous things and then this is also our hamper, so instead of having extra dirty clothes, all the kids throw their clothes in here when they're full, we wash them and dry them in abroad, I think before our trip.
Even in the beginning we found a home within each other like she was my home, so one of the biggest things we say is it's not where we live, it's not much Massachusetts, Texas, it's not the RV, This is our home, so we sold our 2000 square foot house for 500 and we're not missing anything, you know, except closets, okay. I love throwing things. I love throwing away his stuff, but we can have more to have less if that makes sense, so you know. We can have our horses in the backyard and when the kids go to bed we ride together or we exercise together or in the morning we can exercise and then we can work in the store and we don't, we don't leave. our driveway thank god for gas prices but it's all here and this is all we need welcome to the bathroom um a lot of the stuff in here um we did it ourselves on the boat lab backsplash and it got stained we have a little Nook area on top here with a couple of plants and where we store or vaporize colognes, things like that, so a lot of the things in here are custom, we, the shampoo holders, the frameless shower, this is actually my favorite place in the house.
I spend most of my time. Here she's not happy about it, but that's okay. This is something she saw. He was also very cute. She yelled at me to hang it on the wall and I thought, "I don't know if she's going to." It looks good and turned out amazing, but we have 529 square feet of living space right now and the only problem right now is trying to get five people to use the bathroom sometimes at the same time, so we have to get creative, sometimes the kids go out and stuff like that, um, but it's fun, so this is the ledger, he's number three and piece two, so I was a police officer in Massachusetts for eight years and we decided to buy the first motor home, uh , as a vacation would because at that time.
We had two kids and she was pregnant, it was too expensive and we bought the first one, we remodeled it and started renting it out, we sold it and then we fell into this business, we fell in love with it, so really what happened was we were in our kitchen and He or sketched an idea for a bar note because we wanted to have our home and our work together. Igor outlined this that was great in our kitchen and this wonder and we wanted our living space to be less of the importance, you know we have enough land, we have space, but we could leave our door and thanks to Ledger I also like to be very close to her and being able to work but not having to worry about, you know, them too far away or the commute and at night the kids might be asleep and we can go right to them and we just didn't know it was a barn, although this was just what We sketched, we moved to Texas and we went to a bank and they say, oh, it's a barnuminum, a little barn deer, so we had a really hard time when we first got here, trying to look for land, we couldn't find anything that would suit us. like, you know, the real estate agent said come look at this, so we came and we like immediately drive through the door.
We think this is what we want to solve. It's just that the kids can always be outside. We always have the garage doors open. We can be working. Everything is fenced here, it worked for us, you know, having a small house is all we need, we are together, but being able to work having the gym side fits that niche and maybe when they are bigger, I think it is the most big. The pressure for us was that my job was taking a toll on everything and our family or our children. He spent 90% of the time away from us and when he came home as a police officer you control everything about your environment in your life and he came home and thought he could control the kids and it wasn't working so that we knew we needed something in our work that allowed us to be creative and be together and the kids are learning that they run with us and it's just a better life Welcome to our living room um, this is where we all hang our ceiling fan, in It actually came in the wrong color and we just accepted it, so we changed our plan, this is the fireplace that Igor didn't have.
I have faith in this, it's actually like a tile grout and I thought we could make a fireplace with it to make it lighter, but just lifting the TV made our room scene bigger, it's actually a room super uncomfortably small but it works for us and eventually we'll enlarge a big picture of the kids something but it fits us while they're little um so we've only lived here for three months um and that's for America to finish building the house We did the floors , we built the fireplace, the kids room, eventually we will finish everything as we live our daily lives and work, but one day we will have a bigger sofa that fits us, it's perfect for now, welcome to in the kids room, We actually built the bunk beds, we got inspiration online and did it like a fly with necklaces, we have this super cool bedding and what I like the most is that I also put in some LED lights that are going to be a little hard to see but the kids love it at night it's so cool it lights up everything.
We are in the process right now to build this closet. Finish some decorations on the door, but now it'sFunctional enough to store clothes and things like that. so when I built this closet I decided to make it, the final product will look like school locker lockers, but I wanted every repetition, repetition, repetition, I think you understand the word, but it's every part of it for each of them. so this Ledger Logan Lucas and then we have some school supplies and some toys over here shoes um so this way everyone knows where to put the pajamas where to get the clothes in the morning um I wanted a bench over here to hold the toys and those things, it's generally everywhere, it's rare that you see everything saved.
I still want to make them a small desk on the side so they can do their homework. They spend a lot of time here. The weather here is really good, so in the morning the clock turns green and they know it's time to get out of bed because otherwise they'll come to our bed in the middle of the night thinking it's time. to wake up and uh, they'll have their smoothies in the refrigerator, they'll sit on a little couch and they'll watch TV for a little bit in the morning, so in case you can get some sleep, you'll sleep like half an hour more or So, because it's hard , but constantly, they always play here, they climb everywhere. um, I have some bruises that also hit the frame, black eyes and things like that, but they are getting used to it, they come to our room, so these are the cabinets that Igor made, I'll eventually have doors, um, but he folds his clothes, no. this one is mine, I folded them today and simple shirts, shorts, sweatshirts and you just live with what you need for a small life.
Here are some of our books when we moved into a small house. I had to get rid of a lot of things. I had about 500 and I donated them. So this is Sonny's bed, she has a little shared bed, she actually ends up in bed with us and neither does Ledger. We will eventually have side tables, but it works. I don't remember how big it is. but this is a king size bed and it fits, so for 500 square feet it seems big,

financial

ly when we first got here we were broke, we are always broke, but we had a house, we are going to build, house prices they're like through the roof of our barn so all of this to be honest was 200,000 and that's all the workshop and the house that we did we built a lot so we had a builder yeah we reduced the cost by a couple of areas. that we could each floor ourselves, yeah, putting the ship flap on the walls, installing some of the stuff we bought all the appliances, so we had a really good builder that collaborated with us, broke everything down and I just I went through line by line. everything we could build now, so if you want to make a barn, even if you go to the local banks, they take care of that, um and it's a little bit bigger, so it was more of a southern thing the more barn dollars there were here, but now they're everywhere and yeah, if you need something like that for us, the way we did it was we contacted someone else with a barn.
Doe she actually called neighbors she called different banks trying to find cops who could also see the value in for the bank to even approve what we were asking for it was ironic that we had such a hard time and then our neighbor is now building a barn door and they used our Bardo as a computer and it works, she was still with things because I was still working in Massachusetts, she lived here, so I was flying back and forth. I missed most of her life because she came and went and it was a struggle, it was definitely a sacrifice for both of us. but it's worth it, it's worth it Welcome to our outdoor area, this is where we do some outdoor cooking.
Kids toys, we have a lot of space here, so they usually repeat on dirt bikes and things like that. They love this. area, this is a watering hole that we usually have the kids bathe in, but it's mainly for the horses and stuff that we spend a lot of time here, especially at the end of the day, when we watch the sun set behind our house, here the horses are hanging. back there so we're always here drinking some sodas and actually some Brazilian steak and then one of the biggest things that we cared about was this front door, kind of a complete piece, it gives it a little bit of class and so Of course, this is our beautiful flower. the pots are actually just scrap wood grown together and then there's Bosch and she's a mess this is Bessie this is where we live we live in the dirt to build our barndo uh we just drop the water, power and septic system and This made it totally easy to watch the process bother our Builder and just be a part of it all, but we revamped it.
You know, when we lived in it, we were very conscious of where we needed space where we didn't want me to. I don't want to run into Igor, uh, where the kids really want space, you know, they all say they don't want their own rooms, but they're actually with you, whether your house is 5000 square feet or 200 square feet, they're in your lap. so this is our kind of living space, we brought out a TV because we don't really watch it much and then the kids came back here. We usually go outside because they all end up migrating to our bed, but this is the bunk room we built for them when we bought Bessie, she didn't have one, it was really disgusting, but this is what we do, we turn them into other houses, so we're Tomas Coast, uh, this is the little logo, we have a website, it's all just Tomas Coast to Coast, so Yeah, that's our main medium, basically Instagram, we have all the photos of the work that we've done in our life, our barndo, we talk about how we built it, you know how much things cost, how we made it functional, where we saved money, um, we talk about our renovation business and you know when we sell it to another family, yeah, everything , but it's all Tomas Coast, so you can literally Google our website delmasgows.com.
