I mean, there's a lot of technology that can be used, but it just doesn't apply, maybe let's say, smart irrigation to control the flow of water into the raised garden. My simple ground motion meters or other ways to detect it. Anyway, there are definitely some interesting improvements that I'm about to share with you. Anyway, let's go ahead and get into the convention center and share with you some of this year's best gardening tech. I wet my pants, that is, I wet my soles. But today we're going to water your plants with a really cool Wi-Fi connected sprinkler timer that will basically do everything for you, so you don't have to program your sprinkler timer. Now this setup is designed for people like my brother who doesn't garden. He doesn't really know how to set his watering timer and there are always changes you need to make to your watering timer, at different times of the year, depending on watering restrictions, the city you live in or the state. where you live, and this is made for him, as long as he has Wi-Fi in his house, he could connect it and it will take care of everything for him so he never has to lift a finger to water his lawn, or his garden, or his landscape again .

So the heart of the Netro system is basically an app that's on your phone and this is what it looks like you guys probably can't see very well. I know of other meters, the one I installed myself that is connected, if it disconnects, which actually doesn't happen often due to some wireless issues I have and I can use the last setting but then it runs indefinitely. . So that might be a good thing instead of just leaving it running for thirty days and it stops working and having to reboot or something, that's a little strange to me. Anyway here, you guys can see a few things, I mean, it shows the local weather forecast if it's going to rain, it also shows the forecast for the next few days and then it actually has different zones.

So I don't know if you can see that there, but basically it has zone one, zone two, zone three, you know when it was last watered, so it says zone one was last watered twenty-three hours ago. and will be watered next in five days and also shows the moisture level in the soil. So you go ahead and hit zone one and then it goes into more detail about that zone and some of the settings that you can set, like for example, it tells you the type of plant, whether it's shrubs, warm season grass, cool season grass. .

They don't have a setting for vegetables, in my opinion, they need to put that in, the type of soil, the type of sprinkler, whether it's tilted or not, because all of this will affect how the unit waters. Now, these stats only work if you have that sensor here on the right. And so you can actually see the sunlight levels in your garden over time.

That's actually quite impressive. You can see the temperature over time. We scroll up a little bit, you can see the soil moisture level over time and then down you can see how much irrigation water you've used and then down you can see the rainwater that you know it was. that was it rained and this is based on the weather forecast and rainfall in your specific area. We can cancel that out and I mean they have a lot of other features here, including a scheduling feature. So if you want to control this manually from your phone, you can definitely do that too.

The only thing I would say about this is that I think it's definitely good to know watering times that aren't whole minutes. So just like the irrigation system, I use the high aquajet irrigation system, I don't need to water even for a minute. I only need to water for thirty or forty-five seconds, so I hope they add this feature to the app, so people can water for less than a minute if that's what they need. I mean, if I just do a fifteen second cycle, I'm sure it's just going to push air through my irrigation system to basically oxygenate my root zone, which is definitely a good thing.

And let's see here, they also have another discovery area in the app and it basically allows you to see your water usage, how much you're saving in gallons, how much money you're saving over your lifetime. Well, Natufia is the first recorded tribe to actually start growing their own food, so what we have here is basically a side of the refrigerator or a small refrigerator-sized growing chamber that will completely grow your plants from of seeds to produce food for you.

Now this is designed for people with a lot of skill in places like restaurants or bars because you know it's a little expensive, but basically this does everything for you automatically. So let me go ahead and open this up and show you what it looks like inside. Alright, the special LED lights lit up and it was hard to see me, but you can see the unit here and one of the things I like about this unit. Unlike others I've seen before, this unit is quality made, I mean it's like stainless steel, all of this. I'm even referring to the small containers that basically cascade water.

It's all ceramic and it means that when it's watered down it looks like you know one of those gutters that drip over all the different things and legs, which makes it really cool. This may not be the optimal setup for growing a lot of food because I think you can only really fit thirty-two plants in this setup, but they do have other setups available if you want to pack more plants in there. Depending on your specific needs, what I like about this is that it's completely automatic, you literally plug the water in, you can drain it, and there's a computer control on the top of the unit that really takes care of everything for you. .

It is grown under a hydroponic system. And there are different tests that measure the water temperature or the air temperature inside the unit. Check that the fans turn off and on to keep them at the right temperature and also check it, man. They have speakers here that play different music than on the floor. So maybe your players will even improve. I mean this company has it all figured out. They have done many things to ensure that they will get the best growth. The next thing I want to do is make sure that these guys are some of the creatures and parts of this amazing pot.

So this unit is about seven or eight feet tall. So it's actually quite tall and as you can see, you get a nice glass cover, not this cheap plastic stuff. I mean, this is a quality unit coming out of a studio. So, I don't know, I think its home and distribution in the US now. But anyway, at the bottom, down here, where they would like to refrigerate those refrigerators. That's where the water compartment is stored so they have a water storage where they mix the nutrient solution and maintain the proper water pH and then they have two drawers here so this is an easy drawer and actually it's pretty good.

I never got to see my camera, but there's basically a small screen built in and once again all the electronics are on top. So like you know if there's a water leak, it's not going to be damaged and it basically tells you some of the different things that you can turn on and off, turn the lights on or off, turn the fan on and off, turn on the music so you can last Metallica. two plants maybe grow better and you know, don't laugh, there have been studies where plants have been selected and they grow better, so you might want to try it, you know, men try to keep it fresh if that's the case. like at your neighbor's house and don't invite them out and don't be like my friend I know phyla get some thousand dollar lightweight speakers to play music for your plants.

Basically you will just rinse it and then refill it and then add more nutrients to keep the proper balance. This is one of the big challenges I have with hydroponics. This is actually a fully compostable plastic from what they're telling me and just a little packet of seeds, a little seed like this, is less than a dollar, so once you're up and running with these, you know you could produce some food for relatively It's inexpensive and you put all the seed pods in here and basically you know you just germinate them, start them and once they grow, you'll transplant them into the middle unit. You know, I've seen a lot of interesting things here, but I think a lot of things are, in my opinion, a waste. of space is a waste of time, money and resources for more consumer products that may not be as necessary in our consumerist society in which we live.
