at the end of this video and I'll tell you

what

. I thought about the whole experience and process. We are doing a complete organization with an added style to the house. I'm going to invite the entire Ag Team to help me organize my house, with all hands on deck. It's going to be so funny that you're helping too, oh. Today

what

I'm going to do is do all the prep work before I start organizing, so I'm going to go through every cabinet in my bathroom and every cabinet in my kitchen and then I'll go through your book and just take notes. like what I need for what space in terms of containers and baskets and so on, take a moment to take stock of what I have before I just go to the store and buy a bunch of containers because when I've done that in the past I always come back with insufficient or inappropriate sizes.

My house has always stayed organized when I have a place for everything and that just doesn't happen, but that's what home editing does. You implemented a system to make it easy to maintain, okay? We should start in the kitchen, let's start in the kitchen, this is embarrassing, this is really embarrassing, but this is our pantry, literally, I don't know what's in the back because all I do is grab things from the front, so I'm like, oh . chocolate almonds yeah, they're probably expired, it's just a mess, it's a mess, so this is our color drawer, not bad, except we have all of these, like plastic forks and stuff, our servers of Salads are t

here

randomly, scissors like it could be better, this could be better. and then this drawer is just, I don't even know, parchment paper, aluminum foil, but then we have all the things that we grab all the time, like measuring cups, can openers, these are those wax-like things that you put on top of bowls and those things, hi Lottie.

This 100 needs a review, it's pretty. Okay, it definitely needs a little bit of organization, but this is what it looks like and then the bottom drawer is pretty messy. It has all our food containers, our blender. I collect these little jars because I buy pre-made chia pudding and then I thought I'd use them to make my own chia pudding and that never happens, so there's like a collection of 50 million of these. He definitely needs some help. This is our coffee and tea cabinet. I think I organized the latter. The time we did an organization video, I think it just needs a little evaluation, and then here are all of our spices, some of these I put labels on the back when we organized this, our knives are here randomly, which I realize Realize that it is actually a danger and probably not. good for the knives and then I need to decant the rest of these spices, but yeah, this needs help and then this cabinet has napkins, placemats as entertaining things and then Lottie's random food bowls in here, these cabinets are very deep, which is great, but you definitely need a system for here and then you guys saw me organize this a while ago.
I know it doesn't seem like it, but it's a lot better than it was and I don't really think we need new containers. I feel like the boxes. that I have here are actually working, basically I need to organize it again and make sure that everything really has its place, pots that I need to take to the office, tools that are not in their place, so it just needs a little bit of reorganization, so now that I've gone through every closet and every drawer, I'm going to sit down with a pencil, paper, and the home edition book and basically make a shopping list of what I need to organize what the home edition suggests I buy to organize that item before start shopping for containers, so let's start with the pantry.
I actually have so many different pantries, like chef's pantry, build your own pantry, black and white pantry, and this is what I come up with every time. IB can't put products in glass jars, which is what I recommend people do to add style and functionality to their kitchen. It's not sustainable for me because Noah and I don't cook much, so things expire and we don't know it. how long they have been in the jars, so we don't have the same ingredients, you know all the time, which doesn't make this method very conducive, so it looks beautiful, but I think what makes the most sense for us is Have these types of containers that are labeled as pasta baking snacks.
I think I wanted to give up cereal because I want to be able to see how much we have left because cereal is something that we eat every day or, you know, at least three times a week. but for the other things I want to make containers for breads, soups, breakfasts, etc. I'm also having this moment where I realize that maybe the spice drawer can be used for more of those utensils we cook with. They are mixed with parchment paper and aluminum foil and put the spices on a rotating tray in the food pantry. Okay, I'll start writing my list.
I also want to note that I am looking at products that have all measurements listed. and I'm taking those measurements and making sure they actually fit in my closet before ordering for each shelf. I measured the height, width and depth. Who knew the organization also did math calculations 10 20 30. We have It's like a fun math, they recommend putting cans of spreads and condiments on stands and turntables so I will definitely buy a stand for all the canned goods and then a turntable for spreads, oils and more. This is the information I'm following for my pantry because I don't actually have a pantry, I just have a cupboard, so you'll notice they recommended putting cans on this little shelf and then condiments on these turntables, which I'm going to do.
Following what they've done here, they have like a baking container, a snack container, and a breakfast container, except I'm going to put cereal in jars, like I mentioned, just because I think it'll be more visible if you're more of like a chef like the one I was talking about, this is the page where everything can be simplified and all your ingredients can be in glass jars. This one has also been mixed as baskets with jars, but for us and our house I think this one. makes the most sense so this is what I've been following, moving on to the food containers, what I'm going to do is keep the containers outside by themselves, they stack very well, but what doesn't work is none of these lids have home.
So I'm thinking about using one of these containers to stack all the lids and I'll buy a couple of these because I have a lot of lids and since they have a divider I can put them in smaller ones. the ones in the front and then the larger ones in the back. I realized I need another drawer for things like parchment Ziploc bags, that's what makes this drawer like Mayhem, so this drawer only needs to have four utensils like a can opener and a vegetable peeler. Etc. in this drawer, I want to clean this out and have it free for Ziploc bags, parchment paper, etc., and then do the home editing suggestion of using bands and putting all the spices here on this first shelf and then moving on to the tea And coffee.
Up here we're not really using that shelf anyway, so there's definitely room to move this stuff up there. I'm also realizing during this reorganization or I like to take inventory of everything, although we definitely need a stool here so we can to really maximize, you know, even the top shelf, so I'm going to put that on my list as well. What I was doing wrong before, every time I tackled and organized Amazing Project in my house, I didn't spend enough time preparing because I'm finding that this preparation is the most useful, since I'm measuring, I'm buying the right size jars, I'm not skip the preparation and take enough time because it is really useful, also look at the process. taking everything out, the drawers are open and yeah, I'm really just looking at what I have.
I'm also resisting the temptation to edit because I know that will be done that day, so I'm acting like I need to store. all the things I have and the reason is because I know that even if I get rid of some of this stuff I still need a place for tea. I still need a place for coffee capsules. This is purely for prep if I'm done in the kitchen. Maybe I'll do some sort of last check, last sweep of things, make sure I don't forget anything and then we'll go to the bathroom, okay, now I'm in the bathroom and I'll do exactly the same thing.
Same thing I did in the kitchen, check out what I have and see what the home edition has available for organizing bathroom products. They have a lot of really cool little containers, so let's do the process again. This is the first cabinet he has had. the hair stuff in it comes into contact with the moisturizer and then the jewelry and then in this cabinet we have cleaning supplies. I definitely need to find a solution for this because then it's not hygienic or nice to look at some of Noah's things and then we have our overflowing toilet. paper down here I definitely want to move all the content that is in this cabinet to this one.
It's a little tight to get in here. I want to be able to see everything and be able to easily access things because these are the things that we use it every day this is basically like an overflow of all our toiletries Q-tips Band-Aids I didn't even know we had those thermometers in this random container and then down here we have some covid tests and sunscreen, this 100 needs to be rearranged. I can never find anything, I don't even know what I have, this needs a purge and here is again an excess of things that really need to find a home.
I like it, I started by putting things in baskets, but it's just a little bit of a mess and then this. The last cabinet is hard to open because it hits the toilet, so I only have travel stuff, my steamer, this cabinet is actually not the worst of them, but yeah, I'm going to get some containers to hold my travel stuff and such time put my steamer on these two. the drawers are already organized the system that I have for my makeup and those things really work for me and then my hair The tools in here work really well up here it's like an overflow of vitamins and things bath salts hair elastics that actually they're not that functional the lid is always open tweezers stuff like that all of our toothpaste plus Cova tests that should be there for this cabinet I really want to organize it and make it as easy as possible to grab things because this is where we start our day The only one The only place I could find Home Edit products here in Canada was at Canadian Tire, but I know in the states they have so many different containers and products.
I'm not using their full range, but I'm definitely using main pieces from their range. So one thing I saw today that I really love are these little mini two drawer organizers, so I thought that would be really cool for the overflow Q-tips razors, just to have them all in one place and that too they pile up. I gave myself half an hour. day to prepare for this video and looking back, this is absolutely necessary. It took me about four hours to plan how I was going to organize my space. I also advise you to get a soft tape measure.
It was much easier for me. to use to measure my cabinets, well guys, I'm finally done, this is the list of all the things I need to organize, a lot of organized things to do, so I'm going to go and organize all these things, it will come, the team will come. and yes, next time I see you we will be in full organization mode Hey guys, the day has finally come, it's organization day. I want to show you all the boxes and home edition products that have arrived. My house is full of Canadian Tire. bags today I haveto Amanda and Elena no grams today but we can handle it I feel like we're getting ready for a sporting event I'm like okay let's get together the first thing we're going to do is get everything out of my closet so let's start in the kitchen do you know how do you see it here?
No, I'm afraid, okay, we're going to take everything out and sort it into piles and drawers and tomorrow we're going to do it. organize it in all offers. Is Noah going to hate that the whole place is such a mess? You probably came downstairs and saw all the bags over the weekend and said, what is this? Yeah, getting ready, okay, let's do this, we're starting by unpacking. all of our home edition containers and Elena and I are removing all the stickers. These are all the HoMedic containers we will use. There's a lot of stuff in here, so we have a walk-in closet in our kitchen that some people would probably use as a pantry.
Noah and I use that closet as our utility closet so we put everything away. our cleaning supplies in the bedrooms our vacuum cleaners this closet has already been organized you can watch that video here so the first thing I'm going to do is focus on the my pantry cabinet. First, I'm going to take everything out of the cabinet. It's a very important step that you want to get everything out Amanda is sorting everything into piles so that things like breakfast go to one pile things like spreads, oils and sauces go to another pile you get the gist, it has like an almond inside you listen to that like who know who but who puts an almond back in the thing like why my nut collection is okay, we have all these bougie Bob's Red Mill products.
I didn't tie them together. I love that you are discovering things right now. like 4.99 for baking soda. Wow, I don't need oats, I'm sorry I'm laughing through all of this, but it's really yes, they really have expired like a year ago, again not naming names, but who leaves less than half a bowl full of crunchy love. I'm going to defend him on this one, could you get a bowl of that? Come on, okay, that's not even worth a pancake, so it's not even half a pen, but technically you could add it to the other one. I'll also add that having that prep day at the beginning was really helpful because I already knew what kind of categories I was sorting everything so I could direct Amanda and Atlanta as if that were the breakfast pile and then the snack pile.
Which is really helpful to get an idea of how I was organizing all the junk. No, you can take a container from that foreigner. We are throwing away everything that has expired. I shamefully had sugar in my pantry back in 2013. I'm shocked. That would be a solid nine years you've had this year, like he just came with me from my parents' house. Is yellow. I think it's garbage. There's no way there is a way. So these are all the batteries we have. Oils and vinegars. I have nuts and seeds, baking pasta, cereal and breakfast and then canned goods and then here we have snacks, so now we're going to start organizing things in the containers that I bought.
We will not put them in the cabinet today. I'm going to save that for tomorrow, but we're going to start putting everything into containers for the few things I'm decanting. I'm just using a clear label that writes the expiration date and I stick it to the bottom of the jar. I have never been so organized in my life as putting an expiration date on something strange, look at that, look, I am repeating the same process for every drawer and other cabinets in my kitchen when you are organizing something, use this time to clean the inside of your Drawers or cabinets Get out the dish soap Get out the vacuum This is the time to clean all those nooks and crannies like on your cutlery Those are the things that get left behind when it comes to cleaning and they feel so fresh and well, now thank you, These lids can be removed and can actually go into our salt and pepper shakers which I have never used, but how beautiful they are, it's impossible to begin.
We need grams, oh, wait the force, no, oh, okay. I don't call them grams today, but we can handle it. Grandma will call me any time tomorrow. Well, I'm organizing my Tupperware drawer. The first thing I do is make sure each container has a matching lid. Food container drawers are famous for having like 18,000. lids with no matching container and then what I'm doing is organizing the lids in a divided container and putting the bases in a separate container so I can take a base, take a lid and have a matching set I am using two organizing containers, one for the longer food containers and one for the square ones, which actually took me a lot longer than expected tomorrow our day is free we will finish labeling and placing all the bins in the kitchen cabinets and we'll tackle the bathroom I feel like I have a professional home organizer today and I'm not mad about it see you tomorrow hey guys so today is finally the day my house comes together and everything is beautifully organized, it's Friday filming this, I don't.
I know I'm really excited to start the weekend with everything in place, so today we're in the bathroom. It looks minimalist and organized, filled to the brim. One thing you want to make sure you do like in the kitchen is making sure all your hair takes care of your beauty your sunscreen like everything is current and not expired if something is expired you want to make sure it's disposed of properly I know in Canada at least the Medications can be left at your pharmacy for greater security. I also throw away things I've had forever. I collect shampoo for some reason, it just doesn't work for me.
I'll take it to the studio and give it to my friends, family, anyone want one? Yes, like that, great, I've organized it. things in piles I'm going to clean inside the closets I'm going to change them like I mentioned a couple of days ago it smells like cleaning products because cleaning products are not contained in anything so they've just been something that I thought was cool about this method is that home editing suggests organizing into categories, this is really helpful because suddenly I don't like organizing every little thing. I'm not like my mouthwash goes here and my toothbrush goes here.
Instead, they're categories like Dental, so all of my dental items can go into one container and it allows me to add things to the container and grow that category without having to reorganize everything, basically. I love that I'm organizing by category and not necessarily item. Now I'm moving to our daily cabinet, this is where we keep our toothbrush, our toothpaste, our dental floss and I'm repeating the exact same process as the previous cabinets, oh foreigner. It's all organized, let's go back to the kitchen, let's finish, everything is in order, let's start with this cute little tea drawer.
I ended up buying a larger drawer for my t-shirt so I can add it to my collection. I can get all kinds of herbs. teas now I'm not stuck with three different types, all the colors are in the front, in the center Ella, the home edition, oh honey, okay, what I love about this piece is that it is extendable, so it can fit in any size cabinet if you have more spices. obviously you can make it longer in the pantry, now we have a couple of extra snacks to make it look color coordinated home edition style.
I'm bringing a lot of snacks to the office, but I really wanted to lean on the rainbow, it really wouldn't be a home edit video without rainbows. I'm labeling below, so it's bad news that home edition labels aren't available in Canada, so I made my own. I wanted them to look as close to the home release labels as possible. This is how I did it so it's the stationery and I bought these labels. If you want to know the exact size I use, they are the one by two and five-eighths inch labels. These are also transparent because the home edit labels are transparent and can't even be seen. them and I went to canva and designed each label and then imported that canva template or those canva jpegs to the avery.ca website.
This is not sponsored but it was very easy to use and then I just printed them at home. printer I know the home edit labels are white, but I knew I wouldn't be able to see them properly, so I used black ink. Fun fact, the home edit labels are actually clay like handwriting, which would make the handwriting so nice. It's just that foreign people together I really feel that way this weekend. I was like he was a person with me because everything is in a box. Okay, time to reveal how much I

spent

and tell you my true thoughts.
It was worth it? I spent 1,309.53 Canadian before you gasped and passed out. For me personally, it was worth every penny and here's why home edition has thought of every little detail so that they work in almost any cabinet, in any room, they all work together. They're all like 10 inches by six inches, not like 3.753 inches, and they just thought of all the problems that could arise with organizing and mitigated that in the past I've bought containers at the dollar store that just haven't lasted. they have cracked they don't look good they don't fit properly in my drawers these containers are priced high because they are very well made I can feel that they are not going to break they are not going to break chip, it also says that on their website and I can take them with me from one space to another if you don't have the budget to tackle every drawer and cabinet in your house, take it section by section, start with your pantry or start with a cabinet in your bathroom, the only thing I will point out is that this takes a lot of time and also It gets dirty before it gets better so set aside some time and I really feel like this system will work for Noah and I many times over.
After many months and years, Noah came home and was very impressed. He took it to our room on Saturday and said everything was very easy to find. I say, yes, because it has its place and it is labeled. I'd love to. to know if any of you have tried the home editing method, if you love their products let me know in the comments below and now it's time to reveal my organized home to all of you foreigners, foreigners, foreigners, if you are watching Clay and Joanna. You probably don't remember me, but we had lunch together like four years ago.
You bring so much joy to people so I'm thinking of you and I hope you like this video if you're watching and I'll see you next time, bye. Damn dies, are you doing? I just had my shot

line

d up and now you had to go and mess it all up, okay I'm a cotton ball so I thought I belonged in this one, wag your tail, your eyes look beautiful, oh thank you.
