Top 30 Dollar Tree DIY’s You SHOULD Be Trying!

So this first DIY is a fun vase that I think would look great in your bedroom or living room, so you'll need to pick up two different vases from Dollar Tree. Next, I wanted to do a fun paint pouring technique in the smaller vase. I've noticed that in a lot of high-end decor there are a lot of metallic colors that seem to be very popular right now. I also like to use those little cups because they're great for mixing paint, so I'm going to start with my base, which is usually always white paint. I put a little bit of bright white paint in there and then I also add a little bit of white chalk paint whenever I make a base for my painting.

I like to add just a little bit of water and mix that all together. I think it helps the paint work a little better. So I'm going to use a variety of metallic paints. It had gold, rose gold and silver and I just added them all to my mug. I also mixed them up, but this is a preference, so you can mix them up or you can just keep them stationary, so every time I start writing an article, I pull out something that I don't mind all the paint dripping on and leave it. first, then I took a small disposable plastic plate to place on it and then placed my vase upside down on top of that.

From there I'll start by pouring the paint onto my face while I was doing this, it was a little bit whiter than I wanted because I used quite a bit of white paint. I just added some of those metallic colors to my container so I can pour them back in, so if you see a color you want more just keep adding until you get the desired look you want, the real magic is when the paint just drips and you get those little fun shapes. Now let it sit almost overnight as if you don't want to mess it up, let the paint just pour the rest of the way when you come back to it in the morning, it will look amazing.

What I'm going to do is take that smaller vase and put it inside the larger one. vase and this is how this piece turned out so I was on the pottery barn website looking for some inspiration and I saw this set of marble shaped soap containers, toothbrush holders and I thought we could recreate this from the

, so I bought a tray, soap dish, soap container and toothbrush holder, and some of them were already white, but I wanted them all to be the same color, so I started by spraying them with two coats of white spray paint, then I wanted to give them a marble look, so what?

I did it when I grabbed a tub of water. Now you guys have seen me do this on my channel before and I wanted them to be like gray colors so I had this spray paint that was kind of translucent and I decided to use it. this project so what you're going to do is spray spray paint on the surface of the water what it's going to do is create fun little patterns and then you can take your items and dip them in the water once you pick up your item you'll see any design you put into the water in your container, so I repeated this with all my items to give them a marbled finish.

I had a little problem with the tray. I had to move it to place it in the water where I wanted it and the thing is if you don't feel like they have enough paint just add more paint to the water and rearrange the items until you get that desired look now another thing I do when I take the clothes, I take a paper towel and wipe off any excess that I don't like and that just helps as you go. Throughout the process, here's what my

marble containers look like sitting on my dresser. I wanted to give you some other options that you could create with flowers that were actually, you know, really pretty big wall pieces, so I came up with this idea and I honestly love it. as it turned out and it's a huge piece of wall art, so you'll want to go to the Dollar Tree Walmart Hobby Lobby anywhere you can buy flowers, you'll collect some large fall colored flowers that you think will work together.

I'm going to start with these two large bundles, which are actually from Hobby lobby and I'm going to take those large bundles and put the bottoms together so that the tops of the stems are pointing in one direction on one of the bundles and on the other side. , on the other, I'm going to take the zip tie that was already in the package and I'm just going to tie these two together. Now I wanted the edges of my branches to extend at the end. So while doing this, I was spreading the branches on both sides. Then I came in with some wheat-style branches from the hobby lobby.

I cut them off the stems and just placed them where I thought they looked good and then used them. my hot glue gun to stick them under the existing stems, you want to make sure you tuck that bottom piece in so you don't see it and then Dollar Tree has these beautiful stems right now that I'm just. I am so in love with them, they look so natural and beautiful. I'm going to take three of them and place them in my arrangement. The more variation and texture you can have, the more complete your display will look below.

I turned the piece over. on the front and I wanted to cover the center area, so I grabbed a couple of those wheat branches, twisted them so the bottom ends weren't showing, and then hot glued them in the center to cover any imperfections. From where I was gluing or zip tying, I flipped the entire piece back over and as I was doing this some of the pieces were coming apart so I used a little extra hot glue just to really reinforce things. You could also add zip ties to the back. Now to hang this, I wanted it to look really natural, so I grabbed some of my nautical rope.

I'll link the one I use in the description box and I'm going to just Heat Glue it to the sides of my branches, so in order for it to stay, I'm actually going to have to put that glue on several of the branches so the nautical rope can hold on and be safe in your place. You can hang this. your wall with a simple nail I hung this in my room, it is huge and I love it, you guys will have to let me know what you think of this piece in the comments. Dollar Tree now has these really cute baskets so I picked one up not really knowing what I was going to do with it so I've noticed that a lot of the baskets at Pottery Barn and in stores have these braided handles or some kind mango, I thought they would be great.

To update our basket, so I grabbed some nautical rope and then I also had this really pretty navy yarn from Dollar Tree. I hope you can find the yarn they have at Dollar Tree now, so I'm going to make handles. Using my nautical rope I cut it to fit nicely on the side of my basket and then made an identical piece. Then I started my thread about two inches from the bottom of my nautical rope and hot glued it and then I started wrapping it, I glued it periodically but you really don't need to add much hot glue and I wrapped it until I got another two inches on the other side, I glued it in place and cut off the excess now. with my ends sticking out I wanted them to look like fringe so I just untangled them and made them look fringe is a word fringe I don't think that's a word next I'm going to hot glue these handles to the side now they're not going to be super secure so they are more of a decorative handle but you can always sew them on if you want them to be really secure or you can always use e6000 so I'm going to use some hot glue and glue them in place I'm going to make a handle identical for the other side of my basket and I designed it with a plant, but you can design it however you want and I am so in love.

With these baskets, you know we couldn't end this video without recreating a high end find and the find was these candles that I found in a Creighton barrel and I love this ombre look with the wood underneath so I went to My Thrift Store hand was

to find something similar to this piece of wood because I knew Dollar Tree wasn't going to have a wooden candle. I found these little wooden candles really inexpensive. Honestly, you can grab any wooden item from Dollar Tree and I'll show it to you. You know how to get this ombre look, so I started by placing tape around the center of each of my candles.

I wanted them to be opposite each other, so I wanted the paint to be on the top half of one and the paint on top. On the bottom half of the other one now, to get most of my painting in there, I needed to tape a whole section of each of the candles, so I took some craft paper and taped it down so that When I sprayed that section there would be nothing left. I painted and then took the candles outside and applied two coats of spray paint on each of them. Then I'll remove the tape once everything has dried to get the ombre look.

Honestly, I just held the candle holder in my hand and then sprayed lightly along the edge and that gave me that ombre look. You don't really have to add a lot of paint here, honestly less is more and it doesn't take much and then you have that ombre effect and this is what they look like. Styled together in my office, I love the way plants brighten any space, especially a bathroom, so I wanted to create a planter. I had these four dollar tree frames that I think I bought a couple of months ago, but you can probably find some.

Similar at Dollar Tree because they keep the same frames most of the year, so you'll need four for this project. Now mine are black and gold. I love the color of it, so I went through and pulled out that backup piece. in the frame, so I wanted to have some type of black and white image in the frame. I grabbed some of this adhesive wallpaper from Amazon, but you can use scrapbooking wrapping paper, whatever you have on hand for this project, whatever your needs are. I'm going to trace that around my paper where I want to cut it out.

I'm going to cut out the four squares and then place the squares back into my frames. I removed that backing piece from the frame because I'm not going to need that, then hot glued the frames together to create a box. Now I'm not worried about creating a base for this because it will always be sitting and it doesn't really need a base from there you can style it with your favorite plant or artificial plant. Next, we will make a hanging planter. I love the way the hanging pots look. They are great as a corner of your office.

You can also put them in your kitchen and bathrooms are also great for these because sometimes bathrooms are small and you don't have a lot of space to decorate so you could put one of these in the bathroom area which is also a great option for this. So you're going to take any small container, this is one that I bought at the thrift store and now I'm going to spray it with two coats of flat black spray paint to create the hanging part of my planter. I wanted to use some. Faux Leather I couldn't find any at Dollar Tree and I went online and found this whole faux leather package on Amazon that I could probably use for a ton of projects for a super cheap price.

I'll link it in the description. box for you guys, if you want to see it, I'm going to use this medium faux leather color, so I'm going to start by cutting out a square that will fit nicely around my planter box. Next, I wanted to create holes on the edges of the square that I cut, so I'm just going to use my scissors and my wire cutters to make a small hole. Now I don't want it to be too big because I'm actually

to put something nautical on it. rope there and if it's too big the nautical rope will just pass through so I made a smaller hole below.

I'm going to use my nautical rope, this one again I'll link it for you guys, you know I use this. all the time but I'm going to cut a long strip. I'm actually going to make four strips to use in this project. I'm going to thread the nautical rope through the faux leather that I want to display. placed at the bottom, once I get the rope through, I'm going to tie it with a knot at the bottom. I'm going to repeat this with the other three sides now, once I get all the rope through, I'm going to put my planter in the middle.

I'm going to cut any excess thread at the bottom of my knots and the plant I'm going to use is one I love from Ikea. It is a large hanging plant. It usually comes out like this. time of year but it's about five six dollars it's great guys I have several of these. If they have an ikea, I would definitely buy it, so I'll put that plant in the middle. I'm going to lift my flower pot. just to see what it looks like, I'm going to put them together and this is what this hanging planter looks like.

I just think it's adorable. I really like buying real eucalyptus lately and my favorite place to buy it is Trader Joe's. I love eucalyptus because it lasts so long and every time it dries it still looks great. One of the things I've been seeing lately in high-end stores are colorful eucalyptus trees, so I wanted to show you how you can create the same look. for less, so I took the eucalyptus that had been in my house for probably two or three weeks and moved it outside. I also took a spray paint a little bit lighter than a navy blue color and I'm going to spray one side of the eucalyptus and Then I'm going to turn it over.

Now, whenspray, you want to spray from the top so it looks like the paint is coming down from the top, if that makes sense, and I'll just flip it over maybe two or three times and continue adding spray paint and here's a look at how I displayed it on my house in my last fight below the video. I picked up this rug, I had no idea what I was going to do with it, it's actually been sitting there. in my office for a while and I've been thinking, what do I want to do with this? Then I had the idea that maybe I

should

try turning it into a wall art piece, so I grabbed one of those plastic trays from Dollar Tree.

For this project I cut my rug so that it hung over the edges of this tray by about two inches. I placed some mod podge on the bottom of my tray, then put the mat back in place and realized the mod podge was gone. I didn't keep it in place so I went back and added some hot glue too to finish the edges, cut off any excess and then turned it to the back and glued it in place now after gluing it I noticed that some of the rug was lifting up so I took a plate and put a weight on it to keep it in place until it had a chance to dry completely with the mod podge and I laid it out on my dresser with a few other items and I think it will It looks amazing now, when I was DIYing the palette before, I was looking at it and thinking, you know, this would make a really cool soap dish because wooden items are so trendy right now, everything I made.

Using this little palette I stained it with a coat of golden oak stain and then wiped it with a paper towel and quenched it with some decorative soap. Doesn't it look cute sitting on my dresser? You have to let me know if you like it. I wanted to make some chandeliers and when I was leaving my garage, you guys don't have a lot of random things in my garage. I found this long piece of wood, but I thought you already knew. What would make these perfect chandeliers? So I cut them into two pieces so I had two pieces for my candle holders and they were a little rough from where I cut them so I started by sanding them and then I went to Dollar Tree and bought them. a four pack of these little plastic plates they have.

I'm going to use two plates for this project. I spray painted the back in front of these plates with a coat of metallic gold paint. Next, I will stain the wood blocks I wanted. They were very dark, almost like black, so I took the darkest dye I could find in my collection to dye. I always wear gloves because it can get really messy and I'll use my foam brush and paint on one layer of the stain, then I'll immediately grab a paper towel and just wipe off any excess. I'm going to do this on all four sides.

Next, I'm going to hot glue the gold plates to the top of my candle holders and style them with some candles I already had on hand and this is how my candle holders turned out. I love going to Crafters Square at Dollar Tree. There are always so many great finds. One of the things I found were these oval pieces of wood and I chose. After picking up three of them, I started by drawing a line on each side of my pieces where I wanted to cut them with my saw, then I lined up the three pieces and cut them with my saw and now I repeated this on the other side as well.

After you're done cutting your pieces, if you have any rough edges, you can always sand them down. I grabbed some magnets at Dollar Tree and I'm going to hot glue them to the back of my wood pieces and I think they look great. Looking at magnets on my refrigerator, the ceramic barn has this really cool white mirror with this white background and I love the look of it. I knew I could recreate this so I grabbed a piece of white foam board from Dollar Tree. I also had one of their black circular mirrors now available, they sell them at Dollar Tree, so I will remove the mirror part of the frame and then paint the frame with two coats of white spray paint, then I used a ruler and traced to know where I wanted to cut it out next, I decided to use the exact knife they have in the craft section at Dollar Tree for this project and I will say it cut very well.

Sometimes I was able to cut the foam board with two cuts. When you cut the foam board it doesn't fit perfectly on the edges so I went back with just a little piece of sandpaper and sanded it until it looked like you know exactly how I needed it to look next I'm going to put my mirror together. then i will add some hot glue to the back of the mirror and put it on my foam board and here is a look at what the mirror looks like now if you are looking for bathroom storage ideas at Dollar Tree be sure to head over to the glass jar section because these are some of the best things you can get to organize your bathroom.

I bought the biggest jars I could find. I bought them in a set of three sets of three. They look cool so I always try to buy things in sets. of three, if I can, next I'm going to paint the tops with two coats of white spray paint, then I'll go in with a little rubbing and buffing and put it around the edges. Next, I'll go in with some gold handles. that I already had on hand, these were the ones I was using in another project I bought on Amazon. If I could find them I will link them for you in the description box and I just used some e6000 to attach them to the top. the lids make sure you use construction style bonding glue or e6000 for this because other glues just won't hold them in place and that's it, they are great for all those little items you have in your bathroom.

One of the best ways to get a top view of Dollar Tree is to look for items that are in the glassware section because you can spend a lot more on glassware and it's literally the same thing you can buy at Dollar Tree, so I found these. Two interesting bases that I wanted to dress up a little bit of the dollar tree, so I have this product. You guys have heard me talk about it before it was called rubbing and polishing. I'll link it in the description box. I use it all. I know, but I love it, so I'm going to use a little bit of one of the gold colors and to paint your piece, you can use this for anything, metallic glasses, I'm just going to use a foam brush. and when you put this product on you almost want to rub it on, it actually looks better when you do it that way.

I'm going to rub it on the lid of one of the pieces. Now for the smaller jar, I'm going to tape it down. remove it with frog tape and simply rub it on the bottom. I'm going to remove the frog tape and literally this is a five minute craft that you can do, but look how cute these vases look in this next DIY that I've been seeing on a lot of different high end sites you'll see that they have variations of glasses and flowers, so I wanted to recreate that look, so I went to the thrift store and picked out a variety of glassware.

Now you can go to Dollar Tree and do this too, but I think the thrift store is less expensive than Dollar Tree. Honestly, most glasses can be had for 50 cents and there are more variations, so I bought five that I thought would work for this project, cleaned them up a bit. I started by placing the glasses on my table where I wanted them to sit next. I gathered some of my fall stems, some from Dollar Tree, some from Walmart, some from Hobby lobby, here are some tips for arranging flowers. First you need to start with the largest item and place them in your containers in the middle now from here you can decide if you need to cut those pieces off so make sure you have scissors or wire cutters on hand to help you cut the stems.

Next you'll start adding those smaller pieces and as you're doing this you really want to step back and look at them and see what doesn't fit or what just doesn't look right while I was doing it, there were a few pieces where I felt like that didn't work. go well, I'll take them out. My next tip is that when you make an arrangement like this, you really want it to feel balanced, so you don't want it to be too loaded with flowers on one side or the other. others, so be sure to add and remove until you're happy with the final product.

Here's a look at how it turned out. This is an amazing centerpiece to have on your coffee table, it would look great on your dining room table and is super. One of my most popular projects, inexpensive, was when I painted an owl and sanded it, so when I saw the fox this year I said, "Hey, let's try the box and see how it goes, so I went in with two coats of white paint that I had ". Picked up at Home Depot and I kind of regret choosing that weight. I think it would have been better if I had used Waverly White paint because Waverly White paints are a little easier to sand once they have a chance to dry.

Come back with sandpaper and you're going to remove all the details so you can see the details and the ears, the nose, the eyes around the tail and it just makes a nice little figurine, so that's how the fox turned out. One of my favorite items that I was so excited to find were these black and white baskets. When I saw them in the organization section at Dollar Tree, I thought, "Okay, I'm going to buy these. I love having these kinds of baskets to organize under my sink." the cabinets and I love the color of them.

I wanted to customize them a little bit so I grabbed one of those little palettes they have at Dollar Tree and I didn't really have the right tools for this but I just went with it. I started removing the pieces of wood and then used my wire cutters to cut them in half. Now, if I had been home, I probably would have used a saw, but you know, I just went with what I had, so I needed three of these little pieces of wood, then I cut a hole in the top so I could hang them, then I used the golden oak stain and simply stained them.

I just did one coat with my foam brushes and wiped it off immediately. Using a paper towel, I let them dry completely because you don't want to add any labels because they're not going to stick, but while they were drying I went into the Cricut design space and all I did was write something. from my favorite source some different words like scrub hand wash and I meant washcloths and hand towels for those I sent them to be cut on my fancy white vinyl. I simply removed them and transferred them to my wood pieces. I used some twine to tie them to the baskets and then from there I simply laid out washcloths, hand towels, and small loofah scrubbers.

I think they look great and you'd never know they were from Dollar Tree, so I'm in the party supplies section. I have a great idea for a DIY so I grabbed this big bowl, I got this set of two plastic bowls, these little mini ones and then I got this size two mini so let's put all of this together and make a cool DIY for four dollars for the structure. Then I figured out how I wanted to stack the bowls because I wanted a three-tier tray system and I'm going to use the smaller bowls as dividers and then my largest bowls will be the three-tier ones.

I'm going to use a combination of e6000 and hot glue to hold the bowls in place because the e6000 will hold them longer and I use the hot glue so it dries quickly so I can go ahead and spray paint it once. I have all the bowls in place. I'm going to take it outside and apply two coats of white spray paint now to fill this bowl. You could really do a combination of anything. I'm going to use some of these natural rocks that I bought at Dollar Tree and then I'm also going to fill it with some succulents from Dollar Tree and here's a look at how it turned out.

I found this vase at Goodwill, it was really affordable and I love the shape of it so I'm going. To start by painting it with two coats of black spray paint, now you don't need to go out and spend money on expensive vases when you can buy them so cheap at the thrift store or dollar tree and keep them in place. In fact, I'm going to put some dollar tree stones on the bottom, these are just some black ones that I had on hand to decorate it with. I'm going to put in some eucalyptus stems, you can get them anywhere mine are from the target, I'll take them all. the eucalyptus and I'm going to tie it with one of the rubber bands, the little clear elastic bands that I bought at Dollar Tree, I'm going to fold them in half so I don't even have to cut my flowers and put them in the middle and here's a look to the black face.

I feel like it's been forever since I made a pillow out of a rug on my channel so when I was walking through that section I found this green fabric and I thought it would be perfect for a pillow, now you can definitely sew it and I've done it before on my channel , but I wanted to give you a really simple option, so all you need is two rugs and you'll lay them flat with whatever sides you want. outwards and then the sides that are folded inwards are going to face inwards you're going to hot glue three of the sides you're going to press it down firmly just to keep it in place now to fill this you could use a pillow already preformed, I had some filling on hand, so I'm just going to add filling.

You can buy it at Joann's, the thrift store, there really are a lot ofdifferent places you could use filling from another pillow once you have it as full as possible. I want it to be like this, I'm just going to hot glue the end and here's a look at how my two dollar pillow turned out for this next project. You're going to take a vase from a dollar tree and some twine. I am going to start. I'll wrap the twine around the base of this vase and I'll raise it until it's about two inches tall, then I'll add some of my favorite dollar tree flowers to the vase and show you how I display them.

I love this in my house every time I'm shopping at Dollar Tree and I come across an item and I'm like oh my gosh this is going to be a perfect DIY that's what happened when I saw these three domes but if you see these Grab them so I'm going to start by removing the bases from the plastic. On the top, I'm now going to spray the bottom halves with an ivory color. If you're wondering where to get spray paint, my favorite brand is Rust-oleum and I usually buy it at Walmart. One of my tips when it comes to spray paint is to pay attention to the finish you are purchasing, not just the color, do you want it to have a flat matte look or do you want it to be glossier?

So think about that before you buy the spray paint with this one, I chose a more matte finish, so next I'm going to grab some stems that I had on hand now you can take whatever you want. I took these eucalyptus trees, I'll link them in the description box and just put them up. on my dome so they fit perfectly and then I'm going to trim them at the bottom. Now these little bases are really cool because they have this little thing in the center that is perfect for a stem, so they stuck inside, I didn't.

I have to glue them or something and then I just put the top on and repeated this for the other two domes. Now this is a super simple DIY, but how elegant does this look on your shelf or on a display. I was so excited to do it. I found these wooden bins the last time I was at Dollar Tree, I picked up four of them and knew exactly what I was going to do with them. I thought they would be perfect for a drawer organizer for bracelets, earrings, necklaces, anything really. I started by gluing the four wooden containers together with my hot glue gun, then painted it with two coats of matte black spray paint.

Now I wanted to add some design to this, but I wasn't quite sure what exactly I wanted to do, so I went into my Cricut design space and looked for a geometric shape. I found these fun triangles so I put them in the design space of my canvas and then cut them out on my Cricut Joy with just some white vinyl I had. I took them out. as stickers you can really use any design you like and I placed them randomly. I didn't want it to look like I had some kind of pattern. I wanted it to be everywhere and I put some of my bracelets up to show you how amazing it looks, how great it would look in your drawer or sitting in your closet with your jewelry, so a few months ago I created a paint pore vase and I was reading the comments.

You guys loved it. I read all of them. your comments so be sure to leave me a comment and I thought you know what would happen if we recreated that in another Dollar Tree item so when I was shopping at Dollar Tree I came across this huge tray. This is probably the biggest tray I've ever seen at Dollar Tree, but I grabbed this gray tray and decided to pour paint on it, so to pour paint, what you're going to do is just grab a collection of paint. I'm using those same paints. which we've been using throughout the video and you're going to start by pouring white into your first cup and then just add additional paints.

There's really no rhyme or reason, but you just want to turn off. sporadically, so now you get a variety of paints. I decided that since it was a large tray and I had a small cup, I was going to make two cups of this, so you want to put some kind of container that you can start pouring into. so I grabbed this bowl that I had in my stash, it's from Dollar Tree and I put it in the center of the tray. Now here's the fun part. I started pouring the paint in there and then as I'm doing it, I kind of scribble my hands and spin them around, this is just going to add a little more texture to the painting and a little more interest.

Once you have all the paint there you can remove the centerpiece you used a cup. or whatever, make sure you have something underneath where you can catch all of this paint because there's going to be a lot of excess paint, so you're just going to pick up the tray and move it around until you get the desired look. you want and you cover every inch of the tray so I had to move it cover the handles you want to get all the excess paint out of there you don't want too much paint in there once you know to look along the way you want it to be seen, set it up and let it dry during the evening.

You know it probably won't dry in a day, so let it dry overnight. Since this was a tray I was going to use, I wanted to seal it, so I came. Using my water-based sealer I gave it a coat and here's a look at how the tray turned out now. If you've been watching my channel for a while, you know I love these Dollar Tree bins for bathroom organization. I now have one in my bathroom with a gold cap that I use for all my lipsticks. They are the perfect size for a bathroom, so I bought three.

I started by spraying the lids with two coats of flat black spray paint. I've been loving a product called rub and polish lately, so I decided which one I wanted to use. I'm going to use a foam brush to put it around the handle just to make it stick out a little bit, so I added a little bit. cotton balls I also had some bath salts, I think they would be great to sit in your bathroom, on a shelf or on your dresser, a while ago I created a rope tray inspired by this image I found on the pottery barn website and which I love and I wanted to create another of the rope trays in that same group, so I bought a tray at Dollar Tree.

I'm going to start with my nautical rope. It's linked in my Amazon store. I'll put the link below for you. I'm going to start in the middle by hot gluing the nautical rope into place and then continually hot glue around it making sure there are no gaps between the nautical rope once I'm about halfway done with my rope tray. I'm going to cut the nautical rope and go in with a black macrame cord. I'm going to wrap this around probably three or four times doing the same hot glue technique and then I'm going to cut it and then I'm going to go back to the nautical rope.

I'm going to repeat this step adding the nautical rope and the black macrame. Once you get to the end, you will simply cut the nautical rope and can hot glue it on. In the back, you guys will have to let me know what you think of this grouped with the other string tray I created. I love when I'm shopping at Dollar Tree and come across something that would be perfect. DIY and that's what happened when I saw this Busy Bee Canvas Tote Bag. I looked at it and said it would make an amazing sign, so I bought it for only a dollar.

I was looking for something I could use with this sign and I had this piece of wood that I had previously used for another sign in my office, so that's what I'm going to use. You could also use an 11 by 14 frame at Dollar Tree which would also be great for this or you could get a canvas and I put it on a canvas so I started by cutting the top of my bag so it would fit perfectly on my piece of wood. Then I have these little black nails, I think I bought them like at a hardware store, but they're a little small.

Black decorative nails and I'm going to nail them into my four corners. I then cut the bag around the edges and it was a little frayed so I went in with some black paint and did some distressing on it. around the edges then with the extra threads I used a lighter to burn them around the edges and that's how this sign turned out. It really only cost me a dollar because I already had the wood and I think it's adorable so next The DIY I did was pretty interesting because one part failed and another part looked really cool so I'm going to show you how I did it and I know what I

should

have done to improve it, so I'll let you know.

That's so you don't make the same mistake I did. I've noticed that high-end places have a lot of sculptural style pieces and I wanted to try creating my own, so you're going to need some kind of base. I'm going to start with those wood slices and I'm going to put some wood putty on those wood slices because there was a little hole there and I wanted to make sure I covered it up, so I'm also going to use dowel rods for this project. I'm going to cut the rods to the size I want to use. The other things I'm going to use are floral wire from Dollar Tree and I'm also going to use To use the wooden beads that I use in all my projects, now I'm going to start by shaping my wire into a horseshoe shape, maybe a little bit more curved, like almost a circle that's not closed at the top and one of the circles I'm actually going to make bigger than the other and I'm going to start stringing the beads on my wire, so this is where I made my first mistake with my larger circle.

I should have used two or three wires because the wire used was not strong enough in the end to hold this one, now my smallest one held up well. I didn't have any problems, but I did have problems with the bigger guy tipping over, so I would have put it right here. a few more wires with this one, so I strung all my beads once I got to the top. I used hot glue on the top of the bead to keep all the beads in place. Next, I'm going to take a dowel rod and I'm going to hot glue it to the center part of my beads and I'm going to put a lot of hot glue there.

I'm going to push it to where it's connected to my accounts. Once it dries, let it dry, let it sit. I'm also going to add a little hot glue to the back of my beads and then I'm going to hot glue the rod to the base. I'm going to start by putting in a little bit of hot glue and then I'm going to build it up, actually I'm going to add a little bit more hot glue, making sure to hold it down until it has a chance to set. Now, once everything is done, I'm going to spray the entire piece with two coats. from a matte black spray paint, for the first two days I had this, everything was fine, they held up great, everything was great, but like the second and third day, when I started taking pictures, one of them just didn't show up kept like this.

The photo I have to show you is of the smaller one because the smaller one is great, so if you do this project, make sure you use a little more wire or maybe more heavy duty wire. Have you ever looked at dollar tree soap dishes and thought you know what these would make really good little trinket trays, well that's what we're doing in our next project. I grabbed a black soap dish that I also pulled out of my stash of my little half circle beads and I'm going to start by hot gluing the ones around the edge of my soap container, then I'm going to paint it with two coats of glossy black spray paint.

This would be very cute sitting next to your sink or nightstand to throw on your jewelry or your rings.
