Apple REFUSED to Fix our iMac Pro

Jun 07, 2021
So Anthony was tasked with taking our iMac Pro to the Apple Store for repair. Just a little problem. They

refused

to fix it. And we're not even talking about warranty service. We understood that we would have to pay. We WANTED to pay and they absolutely

refused

to fix it. How the hell does that work? Because that was January 30, two months ago? And our machine is still not repaired. This gets interesting. And you know what else is interesting? Mack Weldon. Mack Weldon makes underwear, t-shirts, socks, handbags and much more. They believe in easy shopping And if you use the offer code TechTips you will get 20% off in their store Our story begins with Anthony's first interaction with Apple support It was pretty nice all things considered, Apple representative Andrea , she was very understanding.

But for some reason, she couldn't give us any guarantee that they could actually do anything. That should have been a bright red flag. But when Anthony and Tyler later returned from dropping off the Pro at the local Apple store, they told me that, well, they smiled. us, they would order the parts and have us back up and running in no time. Our iMac Pro review actually ended up doing quite well despite our limited ability to obtain additional footage. So all we could do in this The point was to wait for our repair. Then a couple days later, the Apple store sent a follow-up email letting us know we could come pick up our computer and...

Does this even mean? If they can't get the parts, they won't be able to repair the iMac. Oh wow, thanks Jesse, so what? In this point? What are our options? There's just... There's no recourse, if we can't get an Apple Authorized Service Provider to get the parts and these are parts that Apple wouldn't even ship to their own store.

Are you following this so far? We thought there must be some kind of misunderstanding. Remember, after all, we PAID for the repair, but the Apple Store confirmed that they couldn't fix it because HQ didn't send them the parts they ordered and that our only option was to come and get it back intact and, in fact, it gets even better from here because we asked if Apple can't repair our computer, who can and they told us the only option was to take it to a third party. An Apple Authorized Service Provider, so *Heavy exhale* Since there's no way we can order new parts directly from Apple and fix them ourselves, we contacted one.

Hey, any response from your friend? Ok, new update. They can order the part, but to approve the sale they need someone with "Apple Pro" certification and unfortunately that doesn't exist yet *Sigh* And let me guess. Even if it were, if they ordered it and only gave us the parts, they would lose their certification Yes! :) So Louis Rossmann, you remember that guy right? He showed me the proper way to fix BGA solder joints, so he constantly complains about Apple doing stupid things like this, but not being someone who repairs Apple products for a living, I always thought it was mostly "chat." workshop". *Laugh* As someone who NOW has to repair an Apple product so they can post it on Craigslist No, I don't think so anymore.
It is absolutely real. I understand. What Apple has done here is launch a new platform that they are unwilling and/or unable to support. I mean, yeah, if we broke it, we understand, but I mean, imagine this in some other industry. Imagine if you bought a new car and crashed it into a light pole while leaving the dealership. Then both the dealership and his third party insurer said they couldn't fix it because the parts and repair manual don't exist. As far as we can. say it right now They expect us to just roll over and accept that our workstation is now essentially just a collection of pretty stones for an indeterminate period of time because they released a product without the necessary training or support structure to actually support it.
They have thrown their support staff under the bus. They have thrown their licensed service providers under the bus and, most damning of all, they have thrown the customer under the bus because I bought this. Despite the careful design of the
