book

that I published a few years ago and did a whole video series that lasted three years. I finished it a few weeks ago and now here I have a new copy of

create

Okay, let's travel to the title page where you can add your name, well, I'm actually not quite sure what I'm supposed to put here, since my name is already there, let me, yeah, sure, and of course, I'll decorate this entire page completely later, but let's keep moving. Here we have this page with some words and, oh, this empty space that seems tempting, but no, no, today, this is where we need to get to. This is the tips and tricks page and I'm actually going to take this time to demonstrate them all. tips and tricks it says here watch mariah elizabeth's intro video on youtube and that's today, that's what I'm doing in this video.

More Interesting Facts About,

Wow, starting with the cover, it's exactly the same material as the cover to

create

this book and I know some people. I've had some trouble decorating it, so this is what I would say: Don't use washable markers on the cover for obvious reasons, gel pens, yes, no, and watercolor works, but it can be irritating because the cover repels water. , so it's like a battle. situation some options that may work for you may not be crayons, they apply very easily but of course they will look a little streaky. I guess that's normal for crayons and then we have colored pencils, which is how I colored my creation of this book, some brands work. alright some nothing working wow nothing works this sucks wait wait wait this is what will work.

Permanent markers work great, go ahead, easy, vibrant color. Yes, I put a colored pencil in. I didn't have a yellow marker. It's good, no. judge, so I'm just putting a little rainbow action here and yeah, it works great, it doesn't smudge, why does it look like I'm not actually touching the book? Also acrylic paint, you may want to apply a couple of coats of course, but it should be very easy and you can get a nice bold color. You should definitely protect the rest of the book while you paint, uh, but I didn't really care about that because this is just for demonstration purposes.

Why did I say it like that? This is not my actual book that I am going to use. I'm just using this one for example, OMG my legs are asleep if you're like me and you made a complete mess of them. edges, it's okay, use a black pencil to clean up your mistakes, sorry, sometimes I go into vulgar tutorial mode, of course, you can also use things like stickers, sequins and anything else to decorate the empty space or, if you are a Control freak, you can do it. Make your own stickers by drawing on a separate sheet of paper and gluing it on and once you've decorated to your liking you'll probably want to protect the cover with some sort of clear coat or I'm going to use packaging. tape because it's super durable and strong and if you ever get paint, marker or chocolate syrup on it, I don't know what the point is, you can keep it clean and never mess up your cover design, now if all else fails you've made a mess .
You hate it, it's terrible, we've all been there, don't forget you can just stick things on top of it to cover it completely. You can use decorative tape to cover it. Scrapbook paper. You do not need to keep the original cover. I'm not going to be offended, it's your book, make it look how you want, this looks very ugly, but it's just an example, okay, it's not even a real copy of the book, it's a test, now for the interior we have a bit of different struggle aha the pages are a bit thin so if you use things like markers watercolors this can happen it wasn't too dramatic there just isn't a paper thick enough to hold paint and markers that wouldn't do this . very expensive book to buy what but you know what again okay, we can definitely work with that you can stick to things like pencils, pens, crayons, chalk, you might be able to get away with some acrylic paint, um, you I swear my art isn't always this is bad, it's literally just me testing supplies or what I do when I want to use something that might bleed through the paper.
I just take a piece of computer paper, stick it in the book, cut it to about the right size, and then draw the little one. image and then paste it back into the book. I usually glue the edge first, glue the edge there, put it in place, and then glue the rest. Glue sticks definitely work better because they won't wrinkle the paper, cut it to size and you're done. just use the highlighter without suffering the consequences benefits you can use the highlighter on the last page without any problem because it's already double coated you see what I did there yes we get it you're stupid I'm a pickle what's my thing with pickles recently?
I kept doing this for many pages in my creation of this book and it worked very well, gave me a lot of flexibility, kept the book clean. I usually do this on pages that don't have instructions, so you don't have to avoid them, but if you have instructions, place the paper underneath or cut out a window. You know there are ways to avoid the instructions too. Now, to protect your artwork, I like to use a thin layer of matte mod podge like this. Nothing gets stained when you work on other places in the book, it just keeps everything nice and fresh and tidy.
Be sure to wait until it is completely dry before closing the book. I made that mistake, it's not pretty, you really just need to do it. Do this for things like pencil, crayon, chalk, don't try it with a washable marker unless you want to make your art cry. You can also use packing tape like I showed on the cover but you don't really need that much durability for the inside and the tape acts a little funny sometimes but not all the time it just gets cranky sometimes now that I've completely ruined this book , let's start with the actual book, so let's move on to the first page that says create a new start and write the start date, your goals and decorate this page with things that remind you of new beginnings, so first I will write the date and my goals for the book, pretty simple stuff, we'll try not to take three years to finish this one. hug me and I'm finally going to get some good quality decoration, so this is the first page I'm doing in the book, so I'm taking it a little easy, nice warm up page, so I drew some little flowers, nothing.
Too complicated or scandalous. Plus, I can't really think of anything else that reminds me of new beginnings other than flowers. I mean, what else, like a baby? I do not know i do not know. No, that would be very strange. I just chose flowers and I also drew a baby plant and the color starts out very pretty and normal and ordinary, but I was coloring this at like three in the morning after about two cups of coffee while listening to 90s TV shows and things were They got a little wild, I added green. For my purple flower, this is crazy and I went a little crazy with the colors, but I think the colors made it a little more interesting and unique, so they're not basic flowers.
You also know if you wonder about the materials. what I've talked about in this video, I'm going to create a dedicated stuff page on my website so you can find links to everything that I mentioned here and the link for that of course will be in the description um and yeah, really. I like it. I think this is a good start to the book. Here is the end result. I am very excited to continue completing this book, but not today because I don't have time this week. I spent a lot of time Kind of a tutorial that's part of this video, so that's all I'm going to do for today, but next episode we're going to get right into the art and not this kind of art, but I'm actually going to continue presenting something Pretty good and decent art. artwork from creating this book and creating this book too, so feel free to send it to me, it doesn't matter, the email to send your artwork is in the description.
I also wanted to show you this adorable photo of this family doing Create This Book Together. I hope you are looking forward to seeing the rest of the series. I'm pretty sure these videos will be posted on Mondays from now on. Thank you very much for watching and I'll see you on Friday, bye.
