My dad's 1975 HJ Holden Premier sedan bought new off the showroom floor. This was my 21st birthday gift and I've had it for 33 years, so you know how old I am now, right? I've done a few things to it, what's going on under the hood? Well things rattle and bang in the middle of the night and 22 years ago they were phasing out letter fuel so we had to go with fuel injection so I put a 1989 C4 corvette engine in it buddy that's it would have sharpened the old lady, yeah, well, daddy wasn't very impressed, oh, stupid boy, what are you doing?

Atherton Car Bike and Swap Meet is where people get together and I talk about their vehicles from the street and because I'm so well known they keep bringing me back, I've never heard of it , I don't know who he is, there are a handful of events I do every year that are close to my Heart and Atherton's work is definitely one of them, Don Blanford, what do we say about Donny Salt of the Earth?
Kind of a guy and he said some really nice things to me this year. Sincere things that make you really appreciate how much they look forward to seeing me. go there every year, which means a lot and, you know, attribute it to the program and look at my attitude to keep it real, like the classic remains are responsible for 10 extra cars coming through the gate from year to year, I'm happy with that record. number of cars this year, uh, participants and people coming through the doors and every year that I do the show, I say this, so that shows positive growth, which is just fantastic, um, look, Don does the show with a handful of people and uh heh heh they do a wonderful job and I say this often about event organizers because they're right under the bomb, you know, it takes 12 months to put these shows together and Donnie does a wonderful job year after year. , this year was my fourth.
Go back to the deck and bring some of the bike from the Atherton car and trade him meat and I'm proud to say it's his 10th year too so they've been going for a decade so hats off to him. Donny and the team there in Atherton and the amount of cars, machinery, tractors and trucks that come out of nowhere and turn up at Don's event. It's actually now been said that it could become the biggest show in the northern hemisphere or certainly north of Rockhampton, so it's certainly something they should all be very proud of up there on the Atherton Tablelands and I'll be looking forward to returning for the next one from Atherton Car, bike and

swap

, mate, here we have some simba meat and peas. with a vegemite sandwich, it's good to see they made lunch for me again this year.
We had a beautiful future falcon on the show. We've endured it and now it's time to mop up. How are you, Barry? Well, French. How are you friend? Great mate, great, see you here in the paddock, yes London is lovely too mate, you are a stunning example of the VH and the E38, a great tank load in 1971, when was it restored? Barry around 1995, they restored it, yeah, wow. Yeah, yeah, it's holding up, it's holding up well, it's mate, I think it lives in a shed more than on the road, to tell you the truth, so yeah, don't cut these things 265, we've got the triple webers running in there.
Well the e49 had 305 horsepower back in the day at 71 from the factory and I love the deletes when you look around the engine bay and yeah there's no blower motor for uh well there's no fan in the car stuff like that , yes, yes, that's it. right, yes, yes Barry, let's start from the back and move towards the front big tank car if you haven't seen one of these before, around the 160 liter fuel tank at the rear right, all obviously designed to reduce fuel stops. fuel during the race, what a feature. Having it in the car is great, Mike, yeah, except she's a little nervous these days.
You know, 35 gallons is a lot to fill, but it has both sides, so we stop and you know, put yourself on two hoses and see how it goes well. mate, you know, in the big tank, you'll can up to here and run back and forth and back to the cans again, no problem at all, probably right there, yeah, yeah, yesterday afternoon I only put 70 liters in a car, yeah, okay, you can't wonder. about fuel economy with classic cars, if you go and buy a prius, right friend, now how does the car drive? Barry, excellent mate, like the diet came out of the factory, yes, you know what it is, it's a beautiful car, there's no doubt about it. this when we look at the color scheme in the early 70's, the black, the blacked out hood and the rt badge there on the hood, you also know buy a car at the dealership designed to put it on the track, you know when we look at Back then , what was so awesome, man, yeah, in the '70s and late '60s, yeah, at Monroe's and Valiants, yeah, floors, all those, yeah, and a beautiful interior to go with it too, the tombstone, uh, seats cube type with high backrest.
These cars are beautiful, right, yeah, I love them, man. You know, it's like all the kids these days want to drive from the back seat. Well, you can in these old classics and of course you have the four speeds. single rail borgie doing a good job there we change the three speed to the four speed give it a few more legs yeah but yeah yeah just another ratio to play with that's right yeah yeah barry that's cool that you brought it. Great to see it here, it hasn't been towed, it's been driving absolutely stunning around the paddock, Barry, thanks again for bringing it in mate, don't worry, sweat it, I appreciate it mate, cheers and I feel sorry for him too because it's a big tank loader he doesn't have space in the trunk so he carries all these bags and his underwear and everything in the car comes with him Fletchy wants to film inside the car he has to leave everything on the grass well that's it everything for Athens
