Hi, my name is Gary Jones, we're here on a three tab shingle roof and I'm going to show you how to start removing them and then how to put them back on. One of the main things you will need is a flat bar and very useful on the roof, trying to do anything without a flat bar will make your life a little more difficult and also a couple of knives, a hook blade which is good for cut, cut the

shingles

face up and then you have a straight blade that you use to cut the back of the

shingles

, not on the top because it will just slide through the granules, it will dull the knife much faster, it's harder to use, so a hook blade on the face is the best to use, so let's start, to start removing the shingles, if you want to

remove

this shingle, you have to go two shingles higher and you have to take out these nails, so this is the one I'm wanting to lift them up, so these are up and it's a cloudy day, it's cold, it's the morning.
