Riot non-fiction book and you are right. There's some very serious stuff here, but also John Ronson sees things in such a strange, quirky, interesting way that there's a lot of very clever stuff here, not necessarily like a slice-of-life book, but some stuff that's The Way The way he writes and the way he turns his sentence gives this topic a little bit of a lighter tone, which is, uh, I think it's very interesting because it's a topic that can obviously be very heavy, but the idea of the book It's really diving into the world of diagnosing and treating psychopaths, so you're wondering what does a psychopath do, is this a real thing?

The psychiatrist called the psychopath

test

, which is like a checklist to see where you score on the psychopsychopathy scale and, you know, identify some of the key characteristics of a psychopath, things like, lack of empathy, you know, being very charming, that sort of thing. One of the themes of the book is, what do we do with these people who are diagnosed as psychopaths? They say in the book that up to one in 100 people could be a psychopath. So if someone and some of them Of course, have much better functioning than others, but someone who commits a crime and decides that he is a psychopath, what do you do because all the research seems to indicate that he is incurable?

So, you know, do we just lock these people up for the rest of their lives do we do it um you know, it's very difficult, it's a difficult question like what do we do with these people and one of the interesting things about the backstory type is that U John Ronson comes into contact with this. guy who's in a mental hospital and the guy says look, they've diagnosed me as a psychopath uh and I don't know what to do, I can't get out of here, they won't let me out because, you know, if you act completely normal, they say, well, that It proves that you're a psychopath because it proves that you can see how people want you to act and then you can mirror that behavior to provoke a reaction, so boom, you're a psychopath, but if I act crazy, of course, and then they say, oh well yes you are right you are a psychopath look at the way you behave so I don't know I don't know what to do I can't get out of it. here then no one will believe me and then they go and talk to the doctor and the doctor says yes, that's classic psychopathic behavior, he's manipulating you, he's trying to plan your emotions and all that, so it's a really difficult question how to identify to psychopaths.

It's something really difficult. Another interesting thing that's brought up in the book is the idea that, you know, they say in the general public that one in every 100 people in prison is a psychopath in prison, probably one in every 25 people in prison is a psychopath. The other place where at least according to this book there is a very high concentration of psychopaths is at the top of the business world, in the world of CEOs and things like that, it is theorized that a high percentage of CEOs are psychopaths, because some of them traits that make you a psychopath, being very charming and also being able to let go of empathy and not have empathy for other people, can make you very successful in the business world, so the idea is that possibly Many of the very top business people in the world are actually psychopaths, is that true?
I don't know, that's what the book says. It's very interesting to think about, although it's true, and I actually interview a CEO who is kind of famous for almost enjoying putting people out there, like companies that are struggling, I would hire him as CEO and he would like to close a lot of tons of installations and getting the company back to profit, so a very interesting interview with him and something like that. He's actually creepy too, so the psychopath test was very interesting. I ended up giving him four stars only because he doesn't like to jump to many conclusions, which isn't really John Ronson's fault.
I guess we can't expect him to figure it out. This issue is more of an issue, but it raises a lot of very interesting questions, so I recommend it if you're interested in Psy Oaths and what makes their minds tick. A very interesting book, hey, that's John Ron's Psychopath Test. If you read it let me know what you think thanks bye
