you have? you have that kind of stuff, you know, let's talk about that right now to start, you know, I wanted to know, I just Googled, uh, wind turbine and I pulled up a bunch of these photos of all these different You know, designs, manufacturers, brands and everything else, and that's the first thing we're going to start talking about here, is the design of the wind generator.

As you may already know, there are two main types of wind generators. vertical and then there's a horizontal, let's pull up a vertical real quick, we'll check it out. This is actually a product that you can get through Walmart of all places and you can order it and apparently they will ship it to the store. Now I'm going to tell you right away that

thing is a load of crap, it's very clever, 195 dollars, it

s very attractive, you know, and the idea is that these vertical wind generators can suck dirty air if you use them, if you don't you do.

Laminar flow wind comes from all different directions and they can use it and you know to some extent these can use air that is not laminar, you know, on the top of the roof of a house or something like that or where there are a lot of bushes there are a lot of bushes there are a lot of you know obstructions that can hinder and create turbulent forces within the wind and things like that, these get up more but I'm going to tell you, you know, here they are claiming that

thing is 600 watts, this thing produces 600 watts of power, I can tell you that is an absolute overkill of

you can expect from this thing, it is made very cheaply, the motor looks like a ceiling fan, you know which one I am.

In fact, it actually puts out, you know, 12 volts DC, but it's very questionable how much this thing actually puts out and people I know who bought them have been very disappointed with their output, so you know you might get a little caught up in the loop. On this vertical wind generator, a lot of people are really sold on this vertical generator idea and in fact, you know, a neighbor and a friend of mine told me he was thinking about buying one of these things and I told him. Well, I wouldn't really recommend it. You know, it was like his whole face fell off.

He was very disappointed to hear that there is something very attractive about these things. I haven't figured it out yet. They're very marketable, they have fancy shapes and stuff and they look like they would work very well and you know, I don't know what really makes these things so good for the market, but they are very popular, obviously, there are a lot of people manufacturers that They sell these things and in my opinion they are just not worth spending the money on since you have a huge infrastructure of these blades that you know you can get. usable if you know anything about wind, the higher you get it the better it is, even though these tell you that they will work very well in low, turbulent wind and all these other things that are the selling points of these winds. generators, okay, so getting past that, what we really want to focus on is the horizontal wind generator, because the horizontal wind generator is really what's in the commercial, you know that when you look at the big ones, the big ones, the huge ones. wind generators that are, you know, wind farms, do you know how many vertical wind generators you see?

There are a couple of examples around the world, but generally they will all be horizontal or hot. It's an acronym for horizontal axis wind turbine, that's where investors put their money because these things are much more efficient and they're much more reliable in their operation, so which wind turbine to buy? I just selected a few that I have

with, one of them is the air x this is the first one I had any kind of useful

experience

with. Now, this particular model, there are many different models. This could actually be the marine model, so go for a little more.

They have stainless steel and copper parts. The windings and stuff are epoxy coated and stuff like that to protect them from the marine environment they have double seals whatever blah blah but these are small wind generators and you often see this type on the back of cell boats and things So. that these are not expecting much energy from their claims, it's actually 30 kilowatt hours of energy a month, that's one kilowatt hour per day now, if you break it down, let's say if it turns on and off all day, this thing is creating from five watts up to probably maxing out at 300 watts during the day for a small battery bank which would be useful to have if your battery bank is not very large because this is the characteristic of living off the grid, especially with batteries, it is you know those batteries, depending on how large the battery bank is, they need that any load that is applied to them must exceed the resistance that those batteries have and obviously the larger the battery bank, the more resistance they will have.

I have to charge them, it's a chemical exchange, that's what and in my battery bank, for example, I can plug in a one amp battery charger and it won't do anything. You could leave it there indefinitely for the life of the batteries. and in fact, the batteries would probably lose charge, probably not even charge. I could put a 5 amp battery charger on my batteries and maybe two weeks straight of that could get them up to a charging voltage that my batteries don't even have. I don't even realize there is anything in them according to my voltmeter.

I have a voltmeter that goes up to hundreds of volts and it doesn't even start to notice anything until my wind generator is putting out about 10 amps of power and at 10 amps the voltage starts to change and at 20 amps it starts to change dramatically and that's what you know , the larger the battery bank, the more force you will need to charge that battery bank, so the air rx is a very good quality and they have larger ones as well. This is just a small example. I would definitely recommend them. They are expensive and cost more than some of the many Chinese manufacturers that have copied the Air Rex due to its huge success. and quality throughout its years, you know, the Air Rex has been known for its quality.

The one I have experience with was at least 15 years old and continued to function flawlessly throughout its life of being used very, very, very much. durable so I have experience with the other wind generator and in fact I have quite a few videos that I have made about the ista breeze itself, it is made in Turkey and in my opinion it is very high quality if you look at this thing. The body is solid aluminum, it has big cooling fins, it's very heavy, the hub itself is about 3 8 of an inch thick, you know where the blades screw on and mine actually, you know, I show in my videos that my stand actually broke right where my tower actually broke.

Sorry, my tower actually broke in a strong wind because I just hadn't built it strong enough and the whole thing collapsed, breaking the blades but not damaging any parts. The generator itself is very robust. You know, I would give this a 10 out of 10 for its potency. There were some problems. You will want to see those videos. I'll put a link to one of them here. my videos you will know that you spent a lot more than that, especially when you buy your tower and that's something you really need to consider, you need to find a place where you're going to put this, they take up some space when you have to uh Keep in mind that you know the slope of the tower unless you plan on climbing it, which I'm not very excited about climbing 30 or 40 feet in the air or 50 or however tall your tower is, it just doesn't excite me. to do things like that to actually, you know, carry that thing up there and set it up and everything else, it's ridiculous when you can very easily make a tower that just tilts down in the down position and where you can easily work on it me too.

These also have control boxes that you have to purchase and right here, right where it connects to the pole, there is an adapter that will be sold separately. Wind turbine guys won't tell you this, but there is an adapter that fits an inch and a half pipe that you might want to buy. I did a modification on my pipe as far as you know I could use a muffler. clamps and they tighten it over the wind generator and then they have two small bolts that go through the side and lock it in place, so yes, it is rubble, highly recommended.

They have all different models here, they have 2000 watts, they have a thousand watts and I

I have videos on a bunch of hardware that you can see right here and actually, you know what you're looking at, you're looking at about three times the cost of the wind generator to get that thing installed and operable and you know, that's kind of more than I want. talk, you know, you have to be able to size these wind generators so that they can be effective, you know, be able to charge your system effectively and just remember that some of these claims that these wind generator manufacturers are making are not true at all, I mean The two that I mentioned, you know, I would say they're pretty accurate, but remember, those numbers that you know for the i-1000, the i-1500 or for the i2 2000 those numbers are at their peak, their maximum power output. , so it would be under very high winds, so mine my generator doesn't even turn on until the winds start blowing at about 14 or 15 miles per hour. there's just a little bit of gearing on the turbine itself and it takes a little bit to get the blades going once they're going you know it's going to generate some power so just like solar panels the more the more The larger the area of ​​solar panels you have exposed to sunlight, the more power you can expect to get.

The same goes for wind generators - you're not going to get 2000 watts out of a small blade like this. It's an impossibility, it's a physical thing, you know, the physics isn't there and you know there's a theoretical amount of power that you can get for each blade diameter, you know, just remember that every time you double the size of a blade, It quadruples the amount of available energy that you can extract from the wind every time the wind speed doubles, it gives you a factor of eight times more available energy, you know, that's just the laws of kinetic energy, uh, they work here because That's all you're doing.

We are simply taking kinetic energy from the wind, we are converting it into rotational energy and there are many who know the theoretical maximums on that and know that not many wind generators can reach those theoretical maximums, you know, the very well designed ones. some may come close to it, but you know there is no magic wind generator that is capable of exceeding all expectations, you know there are set parameters in which you can expect these things to work. and I should probably mention one last thing too: these cheap Chinese wind turbines. You know, they have a lot of these cheap Chinese wind turbines.

They will imitate the most successful brands like Air X and things like that. You know, that's it. you know, there are some good things made in China for a cheap price, you know, but the problem is which one is good, which one isn't, there's a um, there's a fellow youtuber out there that he and I are, something like that.
