ating and preparing food and things for Valentine's Day. I plan to incorporate our little cabins into this video and for those of you new. On my channel last summer we built some cabins that we rented and they're called Old Orchard Cottages, which is what our location is called, and then there are two cabins, one is Apple Blossom and the other is Sparrow's Nest and I thought how fun that would be to do that. a little bit special during the month of February with the cabins and then

decor

ate them or maybe not decorate them, but just add little Valentine's Day touches in each room, so in this video I hope, first of all, to give you a little inspiration . to perhaps add your own Valentine's Day touches to your home.

It's amazing how little it takes to simply bring a spark of color or joy to a room, maybe make someone smile, and secondly, maybe you want to plan a trip to our area and I need a place to stay, so what I plan to do is give you a discount during the month of February in case you decide to do it and I know you're probably thinking what is there to do in Holmes County in February, but trust me, there's actually a lot going on, I'm sure the Weather can be pretty gloomy and grey, but there are tons of things to see and do and I'll share more about that later, but for now let's get straight to some of the decorations. things that I'm fixing and then also some food ideas and then I'll take them to the cabins and fix them the way I plan to have them during the month of February, that way you know. what to expect if you decide to plan a trip and I have a promo code that I will give you for fifty dollars off a night.

I'll share more about that towards the end of the video as far as how to use the code, so stay tuned if you're interested, but for now let's enjoy a little bit of the decorating. I want a heart shaped wreath on each cabin and I wanted them to be different from each other so I found this set of two wires with these shapes from Amazon I will link them below in the description box in case you are looking for a wire wreath inexpensive, but I'm pretty sure you can probably find it at craft stores and maybe even Walmart, the first one I'm cutting here. sections of this fluoro foam, I'm going to stick it into the mold, maybe I'll end up using hot glue to hold it in place, I'm not sure, on second thought, instead of using glue I think I'll use these little twist ties that came with it. with the wreath I saw on Pinterest, where you can do this, you know, then use artificial flowers and stick them into the foam to create your wreath, we'll see how it becomes foreign, these flowers also come from Amazon, it's always a little hard to find . in roses that look real, but I thought I'd give these a try, of course, you know, the pictures always looked a little better than they actually look in real life, but maybe once they're on the wreath and put together, they are I hope it looks good, as you can see, I am saving this wire that was inside these stems, it is a very nice size, I am sure I will use it in future projects abroad, so I immediately I realized that I probably wouldn't have enough flowers.

To fill this wreath, so here I'm using some faux eucalyptus that I had lying around and filling in some of the outside spaces. I plan to use strips of fabric and just tie them in the shape I've made before with a round wreath. but never with a heart shaped one and I know it takes a long time but I think it will look cute once it's finished, it has that kind of tattered look with the frayed fabric up here. I'm just tearing off pieces of the fabric into strips and the fabric I'm using is a drop cloth and then I have some kind of white lace that I bought years ago and I still have some left over and then I also have a red and white stripe basically just tying it to the crown and I'll probably cut it out once I get it all done or maybe section by section Pebbles, of course, once on my lap, the moment I sit down, I thought I'd find a comfortable place to sit and do this. which takes some time and of course I can't hold her while doing this.

I have one of them. I have these Turkish towels that I use for my cats, they're actually not allowed on our furniture without being on something. more besides our, you know, blankets and pillows, so I'll put them under her to see if it works foreign foreign foreign thank you foreign I love walking into a room and seeing a bouquet of fresh flowers, it brings me so much joy, that's my plan for both. Cabins to have the impossible cage, maybe being on the island, are one of the first things you see when you come abroad, so here I created a Vintage Rose design that I printed on transfer paper as if it were transfer paper iron-on and I'm looking forward To making a table runner with this design on each end of the runner, I trimmed off the excess paper and then here I'm peeling off the design and I'm going to use parchment paper, you know.

Iron this. I'm not going to iron directly. pictured, of course, and here I have my Cricut heat press. I love this. I haven't talked about it lately here on my channel, but I have a qriket link down in the description box if you want to see it, but if you like crafting, this is definitely something you want to have. I will probably make two of these table runners, one for each cabin. I plan to have a little tablescape set up for guests when they arrive at the cabins and thought about a table runner. That would be a really nice touch we decided to make this table runner for the Etsy shop so if you're looking for something like this go check it out so with this Cricut press you basically just press the uh button before the unit.

I had set it up so I want to press one minute and the temperature is 280. I may end up doing more than a minute, but I'm going to start with that and one of the shelves to have some Valentine's Day decorations and I found these signs and Dollar Overall at a really good price. I realize they are not real wood, although they look like that. I thought about going to the store and making my own or asking John to help me but I've been very busy and hardly have time so this will definitely help me, although you don't know real wood but it still has the look of what I'm looking for.

I probably won't. I use all of these in this video, but I can always save them for future projects. I plan to use one of the square signs and then one of the rectangular ones on a shelf together and then just a separate square one for the other, so I really only need three here and I think I'll be able to take out the canvas part of the sign and then for my set of two, I'm going to go ahead and paint, in fact, I'm going to paint it white, I'm just going to put my background white and then for the single square I think I have a piece of tack board here that I'm going to put up.

I would probably use this tech board method for all of them if I had enough, but since I don't, I'll do it. just paint them. I was in the middle of spray painting them and when I remembered one of you sent me one of those spray gun holders, something that goes on top of a spray can. I'm going to try it and I haven't even done it. I still tried it. I can't believe the difference in the spray paint. They definitely need one of these as my hand often gets stiff and hurts if I spray paint for too long and this just did the job.

It is very convenient to use. I'm pretty sure I won't paint without this. Thank you. I think it was John and Dana. If I'm right, I'm not really sure I have the right names, but you know who you are. I talk a lot about these decorative transfers in my videos, but I love them and will leave a link below in the description box of the Etsy shop where I purchase them. They have very good ones. prices and fast service that always impresses me.

I feel like my entire creative life has changed since I discovered them. It's a lot of fun to use them here. I'm just using several pieces from a set I got. They don't necessarily go together, but you can put them together however you want, whatever feels right to you and for this one, of course, I want, I like that the word love is here and then I want some pink flowers, I think this combination looks really like Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day for one of the mantelpieces. I plan to add these cute little wooden hearts and these were cut by my cousin Michael.

I've talked about him before how we get a lot of our wood offcuts from him. He has a large CNC router where he can cut these designs and of course he uses real wood. This is not some type of compressed plywood or anything. It is real pine wood. We will have them available in the Etsy shop as little cutouts exactly like this unsanded, unfinished and you could create your own design, whether you know how to paint them, stain them, you know, add some words, paper, Mod Podge, there are endless what you could do with them. I think they are very cute and some of you may remember last year we had. some spotted hearts like conversation hearts right now.

I'm not too sure if we'll have them this year or not and I'll let you know soon in a video if we do, but they were in high demand last year, but it was a little hard to say those words so I'm not too sure if We thought about using our laser as a burner to do it and I just haven't had the time to check it out to see if I can actually do it or not, but definitely. I'll keep you posted, but for now we have the unfinished product available here. I'm just using a glue stick to stick this paper on the heart.

Now the other option would of course be to use Mod Podge, but I think for this project a glue stick. I will do here. I'm using my favorite color, pink, to paint four of these hearts and the color is called malted milk. I've used it before in my videos and it's always my favorite paint around Valentine's Day, especially since it's so pretty. color I think I found some twigs in the woods that I want to spray white paint on and then plan to hang little hearts on them. I plan on using paper for my hearts and here I have all kinds of pink paper and some of this guys.

They actually sent me. I'm always impressed by this. First of all, thank you for sending me things that you really shouldn't have to send me, but I really appreciate it. It's always fun to receive things and what always surprises me the most is you. I know exactly what I like. I don't think I've ever received anything that I didn't like. It's amazing how we probably have the same taste or something, but these are just beautiful papers, uh, I think they have a vintage feel to them. They would be very appropriate for Valentine's Day after I cut out the hearts.

I glued them together as if I wanted both sides to be pink. Here I am folding the hearts in half, gluing two of them together, adding baker's twine in the middle for hanging and this twine. I got it from Amazon. I thought it was a very pretty pink color. I'll link it below in the description box in case you're looking for something like this overseas. Here I am stuffing a newspaper into my vase to support my little branch. instead and I'll probably wait to hang my little hearts until I have them there in the cabins. I made two more posters that I'll probably end up using on a wall somewhere.

You have seen this process many times before, but simply using my Silhouette Cameo to cut out my decals and then apply them to the sign. These decals will be available in the Etsy shop in case you want to make your own overseas. I bought these old foam balls from Amazon, here I am threading them. Using normal thread I couldn't find the thread I really wanted, it would be a little thicker than this one, but I think this should work. It's a pretty strong thread at this point. I'm not even sure where I'm going to put it. maybe next to the mantel or the corner of a photo frame, I think it will be a cute little decoration for Valentine's Day, as well as making little body creams for our guests and I'll probably put it in the bathroom along with a bomb Homemade bathroom soap with some homemade soap will be fun to spruce up that space too with just a touch of Valentine's Day.

I even found some pretty pink towels that I plan to use during the month of February. I really debated making a homemade bubble bath. but I wasn't really sure about the rules about Jetta tubs, whether you can actually use them or not. I know some types that you probably can't ruin your bathtub, so I thought I'd stick to bath bombs. I have this recipe that I really like, as you can see I am freezing the body butter mixture before making it overseas and good news. I'm going to have extra body butter here that I'll be selling in the Etsy shop, so if you want to try an all-natural, really great-smelling, fresh-smelling pink grapefruit scent.

This will be tender to a light pink color. Check it out in the Etsy store. I'm going to make some heart shaped bath bombs.I thought these would be a really nice touch and I'll share my recipe below in the description box in case you want to make these exact same ones, although there are tons of recipes out there that I'm sure are just as good, but I know this one usually He has First I give him a good Fizz. First I mix my baking soda. Epsom salts, pink Himalayan sea salt and citric acid. I melted some coconut oil.

I'm going to mix it with polysorbate. I'm not sure I'm pronouncing that correctly and the fragrance. The oil I plan to use is rose and peony oil, it is one of my favorites. I thought it would be very appropriate since I plan to use some dried rose petals with these twists. The mold was too flexible, I couldn't pack the ingredients in and it was hard enough for them to stay together. I was able to get some out without breaking them, but I think come February I might have to go another route if I end up letting you know some of these bombs.

but pretty charcuterie board for guests. I saw on Pinterest where you can make these salami roses. I have never done it before. See how it goes here. Foreign. I did not have. I have dipping chocolate on hand and I wanted to dip the top of these strawberry hearts, so I'm just using melted chocolate chips, which doesn't always work better, but just to get the look we want here, so I'm ready to go. go ahead. to the cabins, of course, the lighting is not very good today, it has been like that for several days, just this fantastic gloomy weather.

I don't want to complain but I have to say it's always a bit depressing and then of course if you want to do any kind of filming it's hard to get good natural light if it's that dark but we'll do the best we can so first we'll fix the Sparrow's Nest, so unfortunately when I went to do it Filming my actual video here at Cottages my little pink flowers weren't very pretty anymore, so I ended up stopping at Petals and Company, it's a flower shop in Berlin, Ohio, and she has some really pretty flowers and he gave me a great deal on these. roses that I'm going to use here in the video and I'll probably have something similar here during the month of February from Ella again petals and Company and if you're local make sure to check her out, she always has pretty flowers and Ella always has good service too.

I want pink flowers when it comes to arranging all this for February, but today I have red flowers because she didn't have many roses on hand, at least we can still see what it looks like. I'll meet you with a bouquet of fresh flowers on the island. I'm planning to fix things as they will be in February, but I've already thought of a few other things I'll probably add, so whatever you see here. I'll probably be here and maybe some other things. We have some really cute pillows that I think would look good on maybe the couches and even a cute blanket with a Valentine's Day theme.

I don't have any on hand, but I still have time to get some like that, so we'll see what can be added abroad. I didn't get a video of this, but I ended up making another garland for the shelves using paper hearts and jute twine. I really noticed that these mantels are a little bigger than the ones I have at home, it definitely takes more to fill them. Foreign apothecary plates on Amazon for a pretty good price and I decided to put some Valentine's Day treats on them, what could be better than being all cozy? here in bed maybe watching something or reading a book and eating candy, and guys, I have good news.

I figured out how to put these words on hearts using my laser burner, so these cute little conversation hearts are available in the Etsy store. Of course, you have the option to get blank hearts that are unfinished and undyed and simply create your own hearts for Valentine's Day, but if you like the look of these, we have them overseas this year, as a guest here, you can keep all of these. The items in this tray I must say it smells very good in here right now. I even bought these little dried roses. I found them on Amazon and they smell very good.

I didn't know you could make tea with roses. I wonder if they ever will. do that I thought they smelled good enough to drink, that makes sense, so when I started setting this up I realized that the TV is a little lower in this cabin than in Sparrow's Nest, so my square sign doesn't It fits under the TV and of course I can't have that blocking so I'm not too sure if I can make another sign with the b word and make it a little smaller. I think that should work or I could always move this whole screen to Sparrow's Nest.

I arrived in February and had what I had and the Sparrow's Nest up here in apple blossom, but I also couldn't use that square sign I had used with a heart on it, so I'm not too sure if maybe it would look good under the TV , you know, just standing out. below, but I hope this still gives you an idea for your mantel at home.
