Mar 10, 2024
welcome to my channel if you are new my name is teresa today's video is the second

part

of a series that I did about some second hand things and some things that I have in my house right now in the middle of winter it is a good time for us to be working on these types of projects because once

spring

comes we are going to want to be outside and we are going to want to work in our garden so now is the perfect time while we are inside during the cold months to work on We may have put off some of these projects, so I'm going to take some garage sale finds and some things that I bought at

thrift

stores and just things that I may have already had in my house, you know, and I'm going to transform them and give them a new look , so I hope you enjoy the video and I hope you get a lot of inspiration.

The first project I am going to work on will be this tray and I acquired it a few years ago. ago and I didn't have my YouTube channel back then, but I already transformed it once and painted it with chalk, I think it was cashew and you can see Ben when he cans and makes a lot of his canning jars that he will use. this tray to bring it inside from the gallop and you can see it has ring marks and stuff on it so I want to recycle it and freshen it up for

spring

because I think it has beautiful ornamental details so I took it outside.

I painted it with white linen and then went back and distressed it again, so now just add a little bit more to it. I'm going to grab one of my

shabby

chic stencils and I have all of these listed in my Amazon store. In the templates category and this is my favorite, now I'm going to show you how we can add a little more detail to the tray. I ordered these little wooden scrolls on Amazon and I will have them linked in my store as well, but I ordered several packs of these and I use them in many of my projects because it just adds another embellished detail and I painted it with white linen and then I went over it and messed it up with a little leftover. ground coffee and used a brush just to remove the excess grounds.

Now I'm going to attach it to the tray and I'm going to use hot glue for this. You can also use Elmer's wood glue since we are gluing. wood to wood, but a lot of times in my projects I use hot glue in case I ever want to take it off and use it, you know, on something else, I can easily remove it. I haven't joined my home decor page on Facebook. I would love for you to join and also follow me on Pinterest and Instagram because the best thing about this is that I know I will be back if you like this video so far.

I hope you hit the like button. and also if you haven't subscribed to my channel yet, I would love that you too have been walking down the street so many times my feet, okay, let's work on project two, this will be a mirror that I bought in a garden. Sold in the summer and this mirror has some beautiful ornamental features. I don't think it's wood, but it has a beveled mirror edge, so I think I paid less than five dollars for it, so I went for it. I had this saved so I wanted to get it out and I wanted to work on it and I'm going to use white linen and I'm going to use um.
I just bought some new brushes and you really know. I enjoy using them so I'll also have them linked in my Amazon store under Craft Supplies so I painted it and then I'll take a damp cloth and I'll also use some baby wipes and I'll just go over those ornate features and hit those spots tall and I'm going to highlight some of that black and give it a distressed look, different cities, friendly faces and maybe, but I don't have to be chasing every day, okay, moving towards the project. Number three, it's going to be a bucket that I discovered on our property and I'm going to add just an antique label to it and show you how you can make your own label and make it look aged.
I chose what I wanted it to say and I wanted to say milk and cream company so I went to dafont.com and downloaded the veteran typewriter font and you just download it to your computer and I really enjoyed it. So far I used it on another project I did and I'll leave a link to dafont.com in my description box but again I'm taking some coffee grounds and going over it until I got that aged look that I wanted that color and then I wet it very okay and I ripped it along the edges and then I ripped it all over just to make it look old and worn because I want it to show. like it's been on that cube for a while so I'm going to measure the circumference of the cube handles and get my center before I go and place my tag with the mod podge and once I have the center I'm going to apply mod podge on the back of my label and the fun

part

about working with old torn labels is that a lot of times working with mod podge um it gets a little messy, you can tear the paper very easily and your fingers get sticky.
Well, in this case it doesn't matter because we want that ripped look, so if you make a hole in it, it's much better, so now I'm going to work it into my cube and we'll work on those little grooves. in my bucket and then I'll come back and show you some ways I organize it in my house. Now I've seen many places, different cities, friendly faces and maybes, but I haven't here. I want to show you another label that I made and this one is a recycled ice cream bucket and I already made the video on how I recycled it so I'll leave a link to that video below if you want to see how I painted and distressed the ice cream bucket and I just wanted to add a little else, so I'm just giving you a little more inspiration on how you can make the stuff age where the labels go.
I'm coming to see you, I've been walking down the street so many times my feet know that every stone that breaks could wear a blindfold, no matter what I do I'll come home to you, project number four will be a watch and I love them watches and I love, you know, old watches, anything that has something like that. It has a clock face, I love it and I'm not sure if I bought it at a garage sale or a

thrift

store, but I think I paid a dollar for it and it's pretty gold in color, but I decided you know I'm.
I'm trying to do a lot of white and neutral things in my house, so I'm just going to chalk them with white and then distress them with a little Sharpie marker, so I just put a little bit of distressing on it. and I'll show you some ways you know how this can add a little bit of vintage detail to your vignettes. Oh, okay, now I'm going to show you cuteness overload and you know when. I find some nice things that I always try to share with all of you. I bought them on Amazon. It costs less than ten dollars for this game.
They are of exceptional quality. They are brilliant prints. They measure eight by ten. I love them. I'll have them in my store, but I'll show you how I put them in some little rustic frames I had on hand and show you some ways we can style these cute bunnies for Easter and spring. I always feel homesick, they are places where the beauty never ends, different cities, friendly faces and maybe I will come back, but I don't have to be chasing all the dreams I have, the thing is that I have more love here than I do.
Here is another cute bunny print. This is an xc download that I bought, it was very inexpensive, I think it was five dollars or less and I'll link it below, but basically you pay and then they send it to your email and you can download it and you can print it as many times as you want. It's an 8x10. I just printed it on printer paper and put it in a frame that I originally had some Christmas stuff in, so once I took my Christmas, then I needed something to put in this cute frame, so I chose this cute little bunny, so I think it's a great addition to Eastern Springs.
We're all going to wrap up today's video. I really thank you all for coming and watching me. I hope you enjoyed the video and I plan to post another video next Wednesday so I hope you're looking forward to it and until then I hope you have a great weekend and I'll see you in my next video. Goodbye to all the magical places in the world I've been, this is where my heart is so you know it's true, no matter where I go, I will come home to you.
