Dollar tree wood glue or gorilla wood glue, it's your choice and in the end we will join them together, since this is a hanging decoration piece, I wanted a little extra security and that's why I decided to use wood glue besides. hot wood glue so once we're done three rows we're just going to make sure it's nice and straight and then our next row is going to be four so we're going to go ahead and lay down four blocks and then join them end to end with that wood glue as well and now we're going to tilt up the first row slightly, we're going to add a little bit of wood glue to that edge and make sure it's nice and smooth and I just took it out with my finger and then I'm going to attach that right on the center of the row of four blocks, so now the next row will be five blocks, we're going to join that to the group, the next row, six blocks we'll join that one there and then we'll go back to five blocks, we'll join that to the next row, then we'll join a set of four blocks, a set of three blocks, then we'll join two blocks and then on the last block, this is what it will look like. like you followed the pattern on the right, now what we're going to do is add blocks at the bottom and if you notice that the pattern is seven six five four three two one, then we'll start with the first one. letter that, uh, first layer, that would be seven blocks and we're going to lay them on their sides now, once you've laid them out, go ahead and grab that wood glue and we'll start applying each of the blocks into place.

Now, a nice advantage of working with wood glue is that it gives you a considerable amount of working time so you can make sure your blocks are right before the glue dries. Now once all the pieces are glued in place you will have your base layer, so now The next row will be six blocks. Now we're going to add those six blocks on their side just above the set of seven blocks. You want to make sure they are centered on the blocks just below them and glue them in place. and this is what they're going to look like so the next row we're going to make is going to be five blocks and then we're going to add those five blocks in the center and then we're going to glue those in as well so our next row is going to be four blocks and we're going to add four blocks on top of that all the way down three two one and this is what it's going to look like, so now what we're going to do is rotate it and we're going to trim that top edge now.

All I'm going to do is grab six blocks and I just want to form a slight curve at the top just to cover those jagged edges. Now I'm going to place these blocks flat on top, so I just want them to overlap slightly. edge and that wood glue along the edge and then just form a slight arc around the top then just make any final adjustments and then once it's completely adhered let it sit to dry completely like this So now that our piece is nice and dry we can move on. and finish it now I decided to finish my piece with this antique Waverly wax.
I love using it on my pre-glued projects because it doesn't work too badly on pieces that have already been glued and that the wax covers. okay so I'm going to start by taking a brush and getting in and between each of those blocks so the wax covers those gaps in the gaps and then I'm going to take a rag and then just blend that old wax along the underside of the holder making sure to have a nice even layer, so here's the whole background with that wax covering the whole background and now you're going to do the inner layer of the background and here's the inner layer all done, now just fill that in for the whole stand, the front, back and all the edges and then just let this piece sit and dry completely, so now that our piece is completely dry, we'll add our hardware in order.
To make this a hanging piece I will now apply my hardware to that second row of blocks and use the screw eye hooks. You can get them in 10 packs for a dollar at any hardware store or Walmart now I'm adding I got to the second row on that last block and what I'm doing is I'm taking a 1 8 inch drill bit and drilling that last block into the second row of blocks on the back and as you can see there is a small hole in each one. one of the blocks at the end of the second row, so I'm going to start by taking that little eye hook and screwing it in using my needle nose pliers to make sure it's a nice tight fit there and you can see we've got a little loop there, so go ahead and apply the other until you have two hooks to add a chain or rope.
Now I chose to use this plate chain that I got from Dollar Tree, but you can use jute twine or any type of rope or chain that you like and I'm just going to disconnect one of those chains and then shorten it to whatever length I want and then open one of those hooks and then I can directly hook that hook onto the back of the hanger on each side so now you can use it as a plant hanger or you can detach it and have it as a tabletop accent piece so here is my hanging planter on display and I love how it turned out.
Now I added a variety of my favorite fake succulents and they fit perfectly on this little shelf and using this wood glue makes this piece super secure and I love this wax finish and it always looks amazing on these wood pieces now, as I mentioned before. I can also remove the chain and have this as a table display. Now I love this creative way to display them and it will fit perfectly in a corner too. Now all you have to do is choose your favorite tray decoration to personalize this look. Now there are so many ways you can customize this.
How about just turning it over and adding a plant as a decorative accent? Now this highlights those beautiful tinted block levels. Now I love the symmetry of this option and had a lot of fun creating it. Let me know what you think about this project in the comments below. Now this project is a decorative tiered block tray. Now let's start with the dollar tree

tower

blocks. Let's go ahead and protect our work surface and grab our rulers. and our blocks and what we're going to start with is we're going to take our blocks, we want to have six blocks and we're going to make two sets of these six blocks.
Now for this project we will use our surebonder. Wood stick hot glue, but feel free to use wood glue if you prefer, now I'm just going to glue them side to side adding that wood glue between them, just squeezing them firmly and turning them over as I go, making sure to clean up any rest. glue oozing from the seam until you have six glued blocks and then repeat until you have two complete sets. Now the next set of blocks that we will join are two blocks and we will make 14 sets of these now in total. What I'm going to do with these is glue them together, at the end wipe off the glue and here you have one and now just repeat this until you have a total of 14.
Now to assemble this, we're just going to take one of those two sets of blocks and then what we're going to do is make an L shape at the end. Now I'm going to lay the blocks on their sides and then add some hot glue. the end of the set of two blocks and then press it against the additional block on its side to form an L shape as shown here, so now we're just going to add another block to the other end and you'll notice that this is added to the top of the set of two blocks instead of the end and this creates our stepped look, so add hot glue to the end of that and press it on top and you can see that one side is longer than the other.
Now let's repeat. this for all 14 sets and now that our sets are done we can start putting together our tray so I'm going to place one of the two sets of blocks and then I'm going to take another one now let's If you have an idea how to put them together we're going to rotate those pieces and so the pieces will end up staggered as shown here now, once you feel comfortable with the pattern and know how it's going to look. Look, you can go ahead and start putting them together and I'm going to use my wood hot glue stick just to apply it to the side and start stacking those pieces, making sure that when you stack them the pieces are staggered now that you do it.
I want to press them firmly to avoid gaps and clean up any glue that may ooze from the joints, so here are the first sets of blocks, all glued together. It's going well, so we'll add the rest until we have all 14 sets. are glued together and here are the two sides of our box, so now we're going to take our six sets of blocks and these will form the ends of our box, so just tilt the box up and then we'll add some. of that hot wood stick glue along the side of the box now once applied just firmly press the set of six blocks right on top and once that's secure we can turn it over and add the other set of blocks to the other side and here is our complete box, so now we are going to turn it upside down and we are going to take five blocks, adding one in each corner and one in the center as decorative feet, just add a line of glue heat along the side of each block. and then place one in each corner and also in the center for additional support and here is our box with all its feet and it is fully assembled, so now it's time to finish the box and I'm going to continue with my Waverly theme. old wax now I'm going to add old wax starting from the inside.
Now you can start by using the rag or you can use a combination of the rag and the brush just to get into those tight cracks and crevices and make sure that you apply that wax nice and evenly on the inside now once the inside is done you can stain all over the outside and I just like to rub that rag and all the wax in there, getting it into the wood and making sure the grain is nice and apparent. I can see it looks beautiful and here is the box completely dyed. Now you want to let it dry completely before decorating.
So OMG, here is the final result and it really looks great. Now I added some dollar tree succulents and some rocks. to this as decor and it completely completes this look and I love these tiered blocks they really make a nice statement and it was a really

easy

way to decorate this but don't worry if you're more into the farmhouse style I've created a kit. version for that too now I just added some candles and holders that fit perfectly inside the box and then I added greenery and flowers and you can add any of your choice and it really makes a pretty display let me know how you would use it. this decorative box in your home decor now this project is a wall decor piece with hanging applique now let's start with those tower blocks falling from the dollar tree now gather all your table supplies and your ruler and let's go Let's start gathering our blocks to make our project now we're going to make seven rows of three and six rows of two and we're going to alternate them as shown here now we won't be gluing them in rows, we'll be gluing them Place them in stacks as shown here.
I created a spacer from two of the falling tower blocks and this is necessary to ensure the spacing is even across all of your rows, so go ahead and do that before you start gluing the blocks together. and you definitely want to use wood glue for this project as it will be a hanging project and will add extra rope now as you add and glue the blocks you need to place the spacer between them toMake sure you are getting even spacing all the way and it will be very uniform throughout the project. Now we're going to continue adding rows of blocks that rotate between the seven rows of three and the six rows of two now as you continue down. make sure the sides are even on each side as you go and then you'll make sure everything is nice and even and definitely use that spacer so now that your piece is fully assembled you want to count to make sure you have seven. rows of three and six rows of two for the base applique piece, so go ahead and just move this out of the way a little bit and we'll start working on the box portion of the project, so we'll be gathering.
Pick up a set of six blocks and then we'll glue them side to side. Now you can use wood glue or hot glue for this as the box will be added to the whiskey piece you could use either or you just want to make sure they are glued side by side, turning them over as you go and making sure that they are good and safe together without spaces. Now here is your six block piece ready to go, so now We are going to gather two sets of blocks and we are going to add them to a set of four blocks, so we are going to need two of these in total, so first of all we're going to add the two sets of blocks to the end of In the end we're going to make two of these and then once those two are glued together we're just going to stack them on top of each other with additional hot wood glue and now that you have your set of four blocks, just repeat this until you have a second, so now that you have them ready, we're going to go ahead and put together our box, so gather your set of six blocks and we're just going to place those four black sets right on the sides , so add a line of that hot glue on the side and press it against the set of four blocks.
Now you'll just add one to each of the sides. Once it's nice and secure we'll add a block to the bottom just to secure it, there will be a little gap but don't worry this is just to keep any big stems from falling over or any kind of decorations you have in there just hot glue it in place and that will provide some security at the bottom so now grab your base piece again and then grab your box now we're going to center the box on the bottom in the center now to make sure it's okay and even I'm taking my pencil and I'm marking the outside edge of the box. so we'll know where to glue it in place and you can use hot glue or wood glue to apply it to the front of the base applique piece.
Now you just want to press it firmly into place and make sure it's nice and even in the center of your base, now you want to let it dry completely and once it's dry, we're going to take our old wax and we're going to go ahead and make sure that It looks good and stained too. Now is the perfect time to use. that brush because now we can start going around the outside of the piece and inside all those little squares. I love this little brush, it's very long, it actually gets to those places with no problem and then I follow up with my little towel.
It's like mixing everything together and once the edges and inside are done I go over the entire piece with the towel evenly distributing the wax on the front and back of the piece and now you can let it dry once it's all dry . I'm going to turn it around and add something to the back to hang it and I'm just going to use a piece of jute twine, so I'm going to start by tying a knot at the end of the piece and then what we want to do is tie an additional knot. but leave it a little loose to adjust it so you can make a little bow at the top.
We want to make sure that our loop doesn't show up on the front of the piece, so we're just going to cut it so that that loop is just going to show on the back, so once you get the good size that you want, just cut it to size and now you know it fits to make sure it's nice and safe. I'm going to attach this loop with my staple gun I didn't want to apply hot glue over the wax because sometimes wax is fun when it comes to hot glue so stapling is the best way to do it and I'm just adding two staples to the ends of that little jute thread. on the back and now we can hang and decorate our piece and there you have it, an adorable wall sconce with a pocket that you can hang and decorate.
I have placed some beautiful greens inside the pocket and I love this look. It's so much fun to decorate all year round, especially during the holidays. Now you can make one. You can make a pair or even a trio of these appliques. It's all up to you and they are very

easy

to make. Now this project is a flower pot or a lantern. We're going to need these Dollar Tree Tower Blocks, so gather your tools, your ruler, and your blocks now. We're going to start making two sets of blocks and we're going to make a total of 12 of these now.
I'm going to use my Sherbonder wood hot glue stick to make these and join two end to end until I have 12 sets total. Now the next set of blocks we're going to join together is a set of seven blocks and I'm going to need two of these, so I'm going to join them side by side and squeeze them together. Now you know that I love to rotate my pieces. I get a lot of questions about that and I find that flipping them and rotating them still They look nice and even and they avoid that waviness that you get when you glue them all together and here is one of the seven block pieces already finished and just repeat it until you need to, so now we can start putting together our little flower pot lantern so we can Let's take two of those two sets of blocks and then we'll take three loose blocks.
Now we will join them as shown here. Now I like to start by joining the two end pieces together first and making sure they are nice and square. Make sure you use your ruler now once you get the two end pieces right and even take that third loose block and then place it right in the center so once those three are on top add another set of two pieces right on top to close it just add a drop of hot glue right on top of those three pieces and press that two block piece on top and now we're going to take three more loose blocks and place them in place and glue them together heat in the same way and once they are in place simply close it with a set of two blocks and now we have one of the sides of our little flower pot lantern and we will need a total of four as shown here so now what What I'm going to do is join these sides. on the side as shown here, but I want to make a mark where they join because I will be placing a layer of screen on the inside and I don't want the screen to interfere with the adhesion area on the side, so just go around each one. one of those panels and make a mark so you know how to cut the screen.
Now I'm going to use this gutter guard mesh or you can use a Dollar Tree trash can or a basket from Dollar Tree, but I love using this gutter guard mesh. Get it in the rain gutter section of the hardware store and it works as a great screen for your projects. Now all you're going to do is cut a piece that will cover the openings in each of your panels and you're simply going to trim all the sides down keeping in mind the marks you made for the side panel hardware and making sure the screen don't mess with that now, once you have the size you need, just cut four more pieces so that You will have four screens for each of your panels, so now let's start putting them together.
I like to start with a dot of hot glue on one side and press it into place just to set it. That side now, once it's all locked in, I'll just turn it over, I'm going to pull the screen back and continue to add that hot glue around the frame and towards the center to make sure it's all in place now. To get a good bond, I'm just going to pick up my silicone mat and press it on top, but if you get one of those dollar tree silicone pot holders that will work so well, here's one all attached and we're just going to repeat this for our other screens until we have all four with the screen on the inside, so now what we're going to do is start attaching the sides.
Now I'm just going to place the border on top. of the edge here and then I'm going to add a generous layer of that hot wood glue stick on top and then I'm going to press that piece into place making sure these green sides are on the inside, then flip it over and add the second side now once . you have all three sides and it's nice and you can even finally add the top just add a couple lines of that hot wood stick glue along the opening and press the last corner or the last side of the screen into your place so now you have the base of your lantern planter and you're ready to go so now take those two sets of seven blocks and we're going to join them right in the center just add a drop of hot glue and squeeze those two together now this it will form the perfect size for the bottom so we're just going to place that right on the bottom and then just add a bead around the hot glue around the opening and then you can press the bottom into place and voila our planter with flashlight is already assembled.
I wanted to add some feet to my box so I have some of these beads. These are 16 millimeter beads that I purchased on Amazon. I'll go ahead and link them in the description box for you guys, if you're interested I'm just going to place one of them in each of the bottom corners of the box and there you have it, we have our little feet now we just wait until everything dries completely and to finish we continue with our theme using our old Waverly wax. and I'm just going to apply this with a combination of a little towel and my brush.
Now I'm going to start on the inside with my long brush, just smudging the inside and along all the edges. Now I know some people ask. Why do I get stains after gluing it? Well, you know, sometimes hot glue doesn't adhere well to the wax layer, so I would like to stain after joining everything wood to wood so that the wax layer doesn't get in. This way, once we do the inside, we'll do the outside making sure we get the inside edges of those windows and around all the trim and now you're going to continue this for the entire box on all the sides, the inside and the bottom and finally you want to check and clean all the screens in case you have wax on them it should clean up pretty easily and now let your piece dry completely and here is my little window lantern and I think it turned out adorable now I put up some candles battery powered tea at the bottom and I love this beautiful glow.
I think the small screen also gives it a unique look. Now, if you want, you can add a piece of mat to cut out the dollar tree. Windows 2 and actually softens the look of the candles. Now you can also use this box as a planter. Now you can also add a plant and I love the greenery on the Dollar Tree. It always works very well in my crafts. Now I love being able to create DIYs with so many uses and I really hope you have as much fun with these projects now as ever. I love them all, but let me know in the comments which one was your absolute favorite today.
