before we put the seat on, man I've never sat in this one thing oh wow, it's actually really good, I bought this at a Buck drag race we had here in Tucson in January 2018.

So it's been here like 11 months, it's a 1973 AMC Gremlin, but the guy filled it up with a 500 cubic inch Cadillac engine that would be the engine that was in a 1970 to 72 CAD, same engine family as a 472 and it has a 400 turbo. I don't remember what it has as a rear end, oh I think it has a Mopar eight and three quarters. I'll have to look but it popped up a little bit, it's got a cam and stuff, Holley intake manifold and of course nitrous, I'm told they once had to pull this car off the track here in Tucson because it was going 1080 with no roll. so they put a roll bar on it while it was sitting here, but I never drove it and unfortunately we're not going to be able to race it here in this episode because we didn't let the track know at all. that we were going to be here, but we're going to be able to go shake it, burn it, check it out, get to know it and break it down to make it ours, ready to start this, this might be more reliable than the other car.

Completely gone, yeah, look at the distance, the distance was good, just that. I didn't have the fury I didn't have the fire let's make it shoot fire we can't do that now okay let's fix it the belts keep flying off this thing and part of that is that belt was completely shredded but I also think that's just going to happen because The pulley alignment is horrible, the water pump pulley is much further forward than the crankshaft pulley and the alternator pulley, so I'm going to work on fixing that. I love the gremlin, I'm not a big fan of 500 CAD, although the revs are a little low for my taste, but whatever my car isn't, I want to ride in it, so that £10 bottle of NOS that has to move, we'll screw this cube randomly into a seat belt and then donuts and wheelies, I hope it probably works taut too.

I removed the bottom pulley and what's interesting, these CAD 500's often don't have a harmonic balancer, there's like a trunnion on the crank and this bolts directly to it and there's no damper so I need to space the pulley which What I'm going to do is stick some washers behind these holes to try to keep them from falling out and driving me crazy while I install it and then that will move that thing forward. amount that will be perfect for belt alignment done yes fan belt on battery charge passenger seat in Drive thanks we are bound to get the off road stuff run over and it would all be weird if we didn't I guess No. best tires wow let me go that's a little better here we go okay I got that out of my system roll one more time we can't find a car to break this episode but you know you're right this is something hot rod Biggest engine you can afford in the smallest car, damn safety and have fun, plus exhaustion and go home, yeah foreigner.
