I'm going to grab some of this Crayola air dry clay. I bought it at Hobby Lobby and you can also find it at Michael's, so probably any type of craft store you can find air dry clay the first time. What I'm going to

make

are some mini donuts, so I first started by trying to roll a longer piece in my hand and then connect the two ends using a little water. I didn't really like how it turned out just because you could. I still see that crease there and everything was a little uneven, so I decided to take a little different approach.

I'm going to take some clay,

make

a ball with it in my hands. I'm going to take a hard floor. surface I just had one of these glass pots. I'm not exactly sure what they're called, but I just use them to flatten the clay and I tried to get it nice and flat, but I didn't want it, you know? completely flat I wanted it to look like a donut so I just did that and then I took the top of a glue stick and I'm going to stick it right in the middle push it in and make a little hole in the middle so I'm going to do that with all the donuts I'm going to make for all the little cracks on the sides.

I just take my finger, dip it in a little bit of water, and then run it over there to try it. to even out any of those cracks that may be in the donut, so I'm just going to repeat those steps for all the donuts I'm making. I'm going to set that aside and let them dry for probably a Okay, three or four days, then I went to Hobby Lobby and I went to their clay section. I found a lot of fun things, so first I bought a bunch of different types of clay because I'm going to make some sprinkles.
valentines day fake sweets diys for 2023 how to make fake food for decor
I did a couple different things with it so the first thing I tried was rolling out the clay and I bought all these clay punches that again you can find in the clay section of Hobby Lobby and I'm going to grab one of the heart ones that have this one it's the smallest one and I'm going to start punching a bunch of hearts out of this third really pretty mauve clay and I'm going to repeat that step for all the colors of clay that I bought and then I also bought this clay extruder at Hobby Lobby.
Now I've seen other extruders where you have a little lever that you turn and it pushes the clay. This one was just for pushing, almost like a shot, and you're supposed to put the clay in and then push this was extremely difficult, I don't know if it's just the type of clay I used or what it was, but it really hurt my hands. hands, so I ended up putting that aside and taking the clay in my hands and rolling it up and trying to make long, thin strips, as thin as I can. I'm just trying to turn them into long thin strips.
I'm going to leave several of them long and bake them. Another thing I did was take one of the long strips and then cut little pieces and then flatten them to make them little flat round sprinkles and I also made that one with the mauve color and then I just followed the instructions on the packages and placed them on paper parchment and baked them in the oven now with my long thin strips that I baked. I'm taking my scissors and just cutting them into sprinkles, so I cut them into all kinds of different sizes. It doesn't really matter, it just depends on how big you want them and then I put them in a little baggie and now I have a bunch of Valentine sprinkles in my collection, so now that my Donuts have dried, I'm going to grab a couple.
Different colors of paint, one more creamy parchment type color and one more caramel color and I just found both at Hobby Lobby. I'm going to start with the creamiest color. I'm going to visit all the Donuts. in the middle, so I'm not going to paint either above or below. I'm just going to paint around the middle on each of the donuts. After I've done that, I'm going to take the caramel color and blend it. with a little bit of water I don't want it to be as opaque as normal paint would be so now I'm just going to turn the donut over I'm not going to cover up that other color that we put there before I'm going to start by painting one side around the middle and I'll paint the top.
I'm going to leave it, wait for it to dry and start on the other one, so I'm just going to go around the top a little bit over the top. you just want to make sure you don't cover the middle completely when you paint the top and bottom. The Donuts have a slightly lighter section around the middle so I'm trying to achieve that look if possible. So I'm going to continue painting all of my Donuts the caramel color and then when I've done that, I'm going to take my brush with very little of that caramel color and go through the middle. slightly you can still see both lines, you can see that the middle is a little bit lighter than the top and bottom.
I hope I'm explaining that well enough for you to understand, but you can see what I'm doing here hopefully so you can recreate your own, these were a lot of fun so I'm going to set them aside to dry and I'm going to make the glaze. I'm going to grab some Coke from the Dollar Tree and squeeze some into a plastic container. I'm also going to grab the paint color that I want my frosting to be and then I'm also going to grab some shiny Mod Podge. I didn't really measure anything, I just added it and hoped for the best, so I would say you want more putty than the rest of the paint or the mod podge and then I just mixed it all together and put it in a piping bag, no need.
Do this because I'm going to show you another way I do it in just a minute, but I'm just going to put my frosting in there and then with the back of a brush, I mix it all together and spread it evenly. my donut, you could even make it look like the glaze is falling off the donut, but I'm just using it to evenly distribute the glaze, so while the glaze is still wet, I'm going to take my sprinkles that we just made and I'm going to put them on all of my Donuts, so I made a mix of everything I had.
I also bought some Glitters from Hobby Lobby and put them on my Donuts too. I also bought some Glitters from Amazon, some hearts and red lips and a bunch of other fun things and I'll link them in my Amazon store if you want to check them out for the other Donuts. I decided to leave them in the plastic bowls I had and just dunking them into this worked. perfectly and then you won't have to use a piping bag, you can just dip them in, so I just did that and then I took the back of my brush and I evened them out as best as I could so they wouldn't.
I had the little Ridge on top and I tried to make them look as soft as possible and then I kept

decor

ating them like the other Donuts I had. I cut out a bunch of these red beads that came on a spool from the Dollar Tree in their Valentine's section and used them as little sprinkles and that's it, they're so easy. I think they look very realistic and I asked my kids every time I made a candy what it looks like and they always get it coming out right, so I take it as a win if my kids think it looks like it's supposed to look.
I think I did it right, but I just put them on this heart shaped ceramic plate that I bought at Hobby Lobby and just stacked them in there and I think they turned out so adorable. They are definitely my favorites for today's video. My husband says they all turned out fantastic. His only disappointment is that they're not real, so he can't eat them, but. let me know what you think about this in the comments for this DIY. I'm going to take more of that air dry clay. I'm going to roll balls in my hand, just try to get them as nice and uniform as I can, and then I'm going to crush them with this glass gripper.
I don't know exactly what this is called, but I'll just call it a grabber. I just cut these from Dollar Tree and I'm just crushing them. and I try to even them both out as much as I can and I'll make sure that each pair I'm making is about the same size so I'll make a set of five of these for a total of 10 pieces, once I have them flat I'll take this little tool I got from the Dollar Tree and I'll make a notch around the edges, a little bit in the middle, so it almost looks like you have two. ridges on the sides after I've made a slit around it, I'm going to take the other side and I'm just going to start poking little holes all over the bottom and up the side and around the whole thing, my goal is to make them look like macaroni and I'm just going to try to do that part at the bottom of the macaron that looks all spongy and has little holes all over it and I'm just doing it with the tip of this tool so I'm going to go over each of the macarons that I've done and I will do the same with all of them.
Now I'll set them aside and let them dry for about three or four days. To go ahead and paint them, I'm using this American red and then I'm also going to use a fire coral color and I'm just going to paint the top, the sides and the bottom, there's a lot of little indentations. on these, so you just want to make sure you get into all the little gaps and holes and make sure everything is nice and covered once I have all my pieces painted. I wanted a little shine to them so I'm using a matte Mod Podge, even though it's matte it still gives off a little shine and will protect that paint as well.
Next I'm going to take some putty from the Dollar Tree and add some type of yellow creamy paint, what I'm going to do is mix all of this together so that the putty is this color. I also ended up adding a little bit of water just because my putty was a little drier and more crumbly than I needed, so I'm just going to mix that in and mix it until I have my putty at a creamy consistency. Once my putty is ready, I put it in a piping bag with a tip from the Dollar Tree and I just squeezed a little bit of that onto the top of one of my macaroons and placed it on the bottom of the other macaroon and there you have it and I'm going to repeat that step for all of my macaroons by just squeezing out a little bit of faux frosting and then adding the other side of the macaroon on top and that's all you have to do.
I think they turned out very nice. It was definitely a first for me. In fact, all of these DIYs are practically a first for me. I always wanted to do it. I tried the Fake Suites and I think it was really fun to do foreign things for the next one. I wanted to try making some fake ice cream bowls, so I'm going to grab some putty from the Dollar Tree that I just put down. I put it in a plastic cup. I'm going to mix it with the color of ice cream I want, so I chose a brown color, added a good amount of water in there and then started mixing and kept adding putty or water or paint depending on what I needed until I got the perfect creamy consistency .
I don't want anything too runny but I also don't want it to be dry and fall apart so it's kind of trial and error and I kept mixing until I got what I thought would work so I bought a scoop of ice cream and a scoop of cookies from Walmart and I'm going to scoop the ice cream into them and then I put them on wax paper to let them dry. and depending on the size of ice cream scoops I wanted, I used the ice cream scoop for the large scoops or the cookie scoop for the smaller scoops and I simply repeated this step for all the ice cream colors I wanted, so I made vanilla, chocolate and strawberry.
Now I grabbed these ceramic bowls from the Dollar Tree. I'm going to add a little bit of glue to the bottom, a little bit of hot glue and then I added half a foam ball to the top. I want to stick my ice cream balls all the way to the bottom, so I added the foam ball there to give it height. I'm going to add some artificial icing or whipped cream to a bag and I just put it around the foam ball so that I couldn't see the foam ball under the ice cream balls and then I'm going to take three of my chocolate ice cream balls. larger ones, I'll stick them there and then with the remaining whipped cream putty mixture that I have in my piping bag.
I'm going to put a little dollop of whipped cream on top, add a cherry on top that I bought from Hobby Lobby and that completes it and then for the second one I did the same thing just filled the bottom with some foam and added a little bit of putty around it. . I added all of my smaller ice cream scoops to the bowl and to make sure everything stayed, I added a bit of hot glue to my ice cream scoops. I just placed them where I thought they looked best and then up. I'll remove it. I'm going to take a little more of that faux frosting or faux whipped cream mixture and put some whipped cream on top, add a cherry and that's it for my ice cream bowls.
I think they are really cute and so fun to make. I'll definitely be making more in the future, but I love how strange they turned out for this one.DIY. I bought these fake strawberries from Hobby Lobby. I'm going to make a mix of putty and paint and some glossy Mod Podge, so I'm going to make a faux frosting and again, I didn't measure anything. It definitely had more putty than what I had. the paint and Mod Podge, but I just mixed them together until everything was nice and smooth. Then I'll take some wax paper and those fake strawberries and I'll dip them in there like you're dipping strawberries in chocolate.
You don't really worry about the fake chocolate getting on the bottom of the strawberry just because you're not going to see it and then that means less product you're using on your strawberries and less mess on the bottom. so I focused mainly on the top and sides and continued this process until all the strawberries I wanted to make were on my wax paper. I wanted to add a little white drizzle on top, now one thing I would change if I was I'm going to do this again, it's not making such a big hole in the bottom, this mixture is the same one I used for the chocolate sauce, but white and then I added it to a loose hole and then I'm going to do to squeeze that along the strawberries now again.
I wish I had cut everything smaller so the frosting, you know, dripping on the chocolate wouldn't be so big. I wanted them a little thinner, but I still think they look really fun and really. delicious I wish they were real, but this is how they turned out. I added them to this heart shaped cheese board I picked up from Dollar Target Place and I think they look really fun sitting here and were super easy to make overseas. For this DIY, I grabbed some Crayola Model Magic in brown as well as the silicone mold from Hobby Lobby for 2.99, but it was 40 off and I'm going to grab some of this clay.
I'm going to make a ball with some of it and add it to the kind of mold Squash it all in there make sure you know how to get the indentation in the bottom of the mold and then I'm going to push the bottom and take it out and make it like little chocolates so I'm going to do that repeatedly. time and time again I also picked up a red and pink color from Model Magic. Now I like this type of clay for this DIY because it's not a messy clay, everything you know stays together, no pieces come apart.
You don't have to get your molds dirty and you have to wash them, everything is nice and clean, that's why I prefer Model Magic Clay to the hardened clay that air dries, that's why I chose that one and they already have all these fun colors. So I made this with all the fake chocolates I wanted and that was it. I placed them all on a foam heart on my table and I think they turned out really cute. Thanks for this DIY. I'm taking more of this. Crayola air dry clay and I'm rolling these into balls so I'm just rolling them in my hands because we're making some fake cake pops so once I'm done with my circle I'm going to grab these candy or candy sticks. sticks I bought these from Walmart and I'm going to stick them right on they're like suction cup sticks you can use straws or wooden dowels or really whatever you want to use for the sticks on these and I just put them put them in there and then put them inside a little bit of foam to harden over the next few days.
Once they are all well hardened, I will use the same putty paint and Mod Podge mixture and roll my cake pops. the fake frosting, if it doesn't go to the bottom, that's fine. I used a popsicle stick to smooth everything out as best I could. It definitely won't look as good or as smooth as a regular cake dipped in regular frosting. where everything looks nice and soft, but that's okay, I just covered some of them with some glitter I had. I just picked up this glitter from the Dollar Tree, it's just red, and I took a pinch between my fingers and just sprinkled it on. around each of my cake pops while the frosting was still wet and I made a dark coral or sort of red color, a white and then a light pink.
I'm taking some faux brown frosting and I cut some of it into a baggie. hole in the bottom and then just frosting around each of my cake pops. I wasn't looking for anything perfect. I did a couple different ways of placing them there in a circle, some were a little messier than others and then I more or less did a back and forth on my roses, but that's all you have to do with these. You can also add a ribbon if you want to dress them up a little more. I just left mine like that and added a little more. bowl that I bought from Hobby Lobby, with hearts all over it, I added some tissue paper to it and then I cut some holes in the foam that I put in the bowl and the tissue paper and I just stuck my cake pops in there and that's it what you have to do.
For this one I think it's really fun, you could

decor

ate them even more if you wanted like I said, but I think they turned out super adorable. I'm going to make some fake marshmallows, so to make that you're just going to take. Your air dried clay. I simply rolled it between my hands and then squished the top and bottom together. You can also put it on your surface and then squish it like that from the top and bottom, but I just repeated this step. for all the marshmallows that I made and then you're just going to let them dry for the next three or four days.
Once they are completely dry, I'll take my Waverly chalk paint in white and To give them all a nice coat of white paint, I kept them very simple, just taking the faux icing concoction in brown and just placing it back and forth on the marshmallows to make it look like they have some chocolate on top and then I'm having a bowl that I bought from Hobby Lobby, just one of these cardboard bowls. I added some tissue paper inside and then added my marshmallows inside and I think they turned out really fun. Thanks for this DIY. I'm going to make a faux strawberry smoothie, so I have this glass bottle that I've had for several years.
I mean maybe I bought it at Hobby Lobby or Michael's, but it's been a couple of years and finally putting it to use, I added some pink chalk paint to the inside of my bottle and just took my brush and went all over it until The entire interior was nice and covered. I'm going to take a piece of cardboard that I cut. I made it small enough to fit right at the top of the bottle so I could add some whipped cream on top. I just hot glued the cardboard right on top of the bottle to act as a lid or topper and then I'm I'm going to take some putty, mixed a bunch with water and white paint and I'm just going to pop it out so it looks like whipped cream on top.
I added some red glitter to it and then I added a straw that I got from Hobby Lobby that had red hearts on it and then I topped it off with a cherry right on top and that's it for my strawberry shake. I think it turned out really cute and I think it's the perfect addition to all my foreign candy for this DIY I grabbed another one of these cardboard bowls that you can get at Hobby Lobby. I'm taking a foam ball. I cut the top off enough so I can add this wooden circle right on top to act as a lid.
I'm also going to hot glue half of a smaller foam ball right in the middle so I don't have to stack too much. putty one on top of the other so you don't use as much putty. I mixed a bunch of putty with a little water and white paint. I found that the best way to get your fake whipped cream is to have it quite creamy and add just the right amount of water, so this took me a couple of tries, you can see here that I've placed it, but in the end I didn't like it, so I scraped a bunch and then smoothed out everything that was left and then tried again to put that whipped cream on.
This was my first time doing this, so it definitely takes some practice and figuring out how to make this work, especially with the Dollar Tree putty. I know you can get a better type of putty for this at Lowe's or Home Depot, but I didn't have time to go there, so I was working with what I had and then added a bunch of fake sprinkles I had made, some glitter, some glitter hearts from Amazon. I also took one of these hearts that you can get on sticks at the Dollar Tree and glued it on and then added a cherry on top and then you have kind of a fake cupcake, that's what I was going for here, but I still think it turned out cute. add it to the video and I'm definitely going to practice more and try more in the future because these fake weeds are so much fun to make and then a couple of little bonuses.
I just took one of the candy containers from Dollar Tree and added a Lot of Talk Hearts to them not necessarily to be eaten but I think they are really cute sitting with all the other candy and faux candy and that just adds to the little store of

sweets

that I have going. and then I also grabbed some chocolate flowers from Target, added them to a base from Dollar Tree and that's it for all of my faux suites for today's video. I think it was really fun to do them, it's definitely therapeutic for me and I just had a lot of fun stepping out of my comfort zone and creating something a little bit different on my channel and I had a lot of fun.
