I have removed the paddle panels from the top. These struts will come off very soon. The reason I did it some people asked me is simply. to make them scale so they don't look like toothpicks anymore, the real ones were Spruce or Maple or something and they are about 4 inches wide.

I have the full size plans on the wall over there, um or Sorry, the plans for the actual plane from the wooden version, so I'm just trying to make that so they don't look too thin. The aerons are breaking away from the aerons themselves. I just moved on and I'm inventing. these plates that will go around the control horns and these smaller plates just to use that will slide in there like this, just a landing for the cover because you imagine the cover comes here with a slide and it can't go anywhere. So the little time you spend now doing things like this will pay off in the long run.

I polished The Edge to get it rough so the glue would adhere well last night before I went home as well. It's not my proudest work, but I just used it. body filler to fill this and now I'm going to reduce it really nicely just to give it a nice flow. I can also build up areas with tape, this will all be wrapped with tape. um, I hit some areas with the angle. grinder and yeah it just did a little more damage than it was worth to be honest just gotta polish a few things other than that we're going good so B change of pace.

I just painted the push. I just painted them yesterday. I removed the bolt to paint. I just like, um, this looks professional when you put the bolt back in. Now I see paint on studs, in my opinion it looks like a waste for a little extra work, so I got them both. of those, I'll unwrap them, this one goes for keeping track of left and right and all that, so everything should come back together relatively well, it doesn't necessarily matter on these two pushrods, but I put it back to the way it was. what went out.

We'll retighten the bolt, tighten it, wrap them in fish and chip paper and throw them under the bench next time these bad boys come out that's when we'll be chambering, I think that's the end result is just a nice piece finished, looks great in my opinion, worth the effort, wrap them up, put them in the pile of final fit parts, so I did the swamp, the car body filler I just rough sanded it with 80 grit , this will do it. they all get masked off with duct tape, so I've got a pretty nice transition for me anyway, a nice transition which is what I wanted and we'll build it up and then we'll cover it up so the other ones go under the bench, now those two I'm just going to make the cable outlets on the upper wing and then we'll remove those aerons as well, okay, you can see here.
I just finished it very well, just a little bit of landing just to glue the cover, now I can slide. the cover will stick to the rib and to this flange it just doesn't float anywhere. I'll probably bend it to get some sort of positive touch or intersection and then the same thing with the control horn, just two nice rivets. Nice landing U, it's not even attached on this side, but once I tape it down everything will be fine. Now they will go under the bench until they are ready to cover, basically now we will go back to the main wings. guys, next morning notice that I dropped them as far as flying, all the bolts are loose, I already have a TR.
The plan is to get a couple of guys to hold the struts. Note that the aon is off. I'll remove the bolts. I'll undo the cables. The lower wing should We turn down, separate the upper wing. I have disconnected the Aeron cable. The top wing should be removed and we will put it on the floor and I will remove the other top wing. I hope to be back on the same path and I've learned, you know, when this is all covered and painted, I'll put the struts back on and we'll raise it up like a beach umbrella and everything goes as planned, it'll slide back on the tubes short, those little short tubes, if you remember, they're in the kit, these tubes are way out with a steering on both angles and half angle and in, outboard, other guys have put something on. I took it up there and welded it, I think with the kit they should be in place or, you know, within more than 10 thousand, but they are quite far away.

. Because I have roads everywhere. I need to lift the wings off the ground. My Xenith Wing rack turned out fantastic for these wings. They sit very well so I've been to Bunnings now for those asking. Bunnings in Australia. like your Harbor Freight Home Depot or Walmart store, well it's not Walmart, you can't get a 20 liter drum of uh uh cheel there, but you can get it, it's a cave for all your hardware tools, so I'm going to prepare another of these. frames I have enough wood there, those frames will come apart.
I kept them in case I wanted to post whatever. I might keep one just for the smaller pieces to hang, um, so I can lift the wings off the floor. Because? Do that so it builds a structure, builds a wooden frame. Each wing will go up to the bench here, I guess, and I just want to go over the top, so I'll block with the turnbuckles. I could give them an adjustment that I need. to separate those um and anything else you see you need to do the smart pins, not on that wing, but other wings may need to be turned on or off, struts removed.
Now I can put the fairings back on the struts and I need to clearly mark the top and bottom that I made here and then they will wrap around the struts. I have some parts here. I've covered this before, so there's the strut section. I have my aluminum tape. I'll get to that, the fairing, and then we'll wrap it, which will make it look like wood color. Choice. I'm not too sure, I'm not too picky, I covered that before, I think there is a walnut and some kind of Maple Spruce Color, I think I need something in between, like an oil painting, the old cricket bat look, but it won't be too demanding, we'll see how we get to covering and painting, um, like I said, it's like Christmas Morning Guys, I'm drinking from the fire hydrant as they say, um.
I think I've seen others that cover, cover everything and then have a day where they just spray everything they know what they're going to be. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 and four aerons 14 parts, if you like it, I can understand how you know, just have a great day and spray all that. I think I'm going to break it down and do just one part more or less at a time. time I'll put on the primer as soon as I can there's a lot to think about with the primer you know a lot to learn one coat two coats three coats four coats I don't know um and then the final color so it's exciting I get it to cover this now, the plan is to build something else, build another wing mount, the wings will go against the side of the hangar for now and we'll work on the fuselage booster and just for my personal encouragement.
I'm going to cover from back here and paint it and finish it Went to Bunnings I was going to buy something cheap like a wheelbarrow Wheels to put on the axle I've been carrying here's the axle here I've been carrying the axle around on the car inches and a quar um , the only wheels I could find suitable that I would have to machine into the hub were around 60 bucks, so I figured I might as well put proper wheels on it, um. You could use a hose clamp to hold the wheels at this stage. I can't put them on correctly because I have to figure out my brake system.
How am I going to do the brakes? If I'm going to do brakes. Drum brakes. Disc brakes. There are no brakes so that's where it is, but I only put the rear wheels on. I could even do the bungee just for the sake of it, um, but that will change when we put the 100 kilo motor in the front, 100 pounds, whatever. um 220 lb, I think it's 100 kilos, uh, that will change the suspension, so I also have to find a way, if you remember, when I built the wings I tried not to leave too much scrap trapped in the ribs, but now I have to drill a hole every 3 inches, 2 and 1/2 inches on the strut, wash on every rib, lots of holes on top and bottom, lots of deburring, lots of chips and I need to come up with some kind of system, some jig. to get top dead center on all the ribs so you can wait the one I bought on my bugle Homemade can bolts from WD40 which is for the radial engine I've been repairing oh I bought my aluminum tape so from 3M this was about $76 but on eBay I bought it for 36 dollars it says 3M that's good enough for me although it came from eBay it comes from Sydney or somewhere I think it's 50m and I have to do 2 4 6 8 16 strips approximately one meter long.
Approximately 16 M to put the fairings on I bought some material for the seat belt, which are the straps on the wing carrier. Any more screws and you can't have enough Wheels like I said before. I stole the last ones and put them up. on the engine there so some cheap wheels go to the frame, we can move the wing as needed. I think I'll install it if you follow my cruiser build. I installed the Marquee here this time of year. I get condensation from the roof too, so you don't want a freshly painted wing and a drop of water will ruin your day, so I think I'll put up the awning, maybe it's just two sides and the roof, and then I can open this door. behind me and the hangar door and I have kind of a natural draft and it will stop the overspray on the cruise um I'm also using my HVLP turbine compressor.
I like that thing. I had a hard time getting the epoxy primer off and even the two pack paint is water based, that's what's designed for painting cabinets and that sort of thing, so it should be a lot easier with this anyway, enough Jibber , let's get into it, so I just removed the struts, you can see how easy. Now it's to get the orientation wrong because they're completely symmetrical, so I'm going to put the rings back just right and clearly mark those TI It Up The Wing with wide lock, my turnbuckles, split pins, two split pins front and back, four each way. lock now. the wing is as a rough cut ready to go.
I have to build a shelf. I guess we'll do some woodworking, rearrange some of this stuff, and build a shelf. Okay, it's time for woodworking, so there's going to be a bit of a mess, but come on. I'm going to take down, I separated some Wing Trestle supports, I have enough wood, very few cuts, I made some braces, they'll just handle themselves or whatever, just put them right on the braces, make 90° corners, copy this inside, You know, approximately 100 thousand. this one's going to be a little bit shorter just because that's the length, I have no idea what it is, but that's the length it's going to be, um, and we'll put this together, okayshame, it's worth taking a break from the real plane.
I'm going to take care of my things. We can't make a nice airplane and then put a hole in it or the wing falls off or something silly, so we'll build a crib for my baby. Now that's why I'm keeping everything. the remains and everything I'm using screws the screws actually came out of the original box I've used them a few times now they're like high torque these little high torque things or some are um and now I'm just putting the screws in the wheels we'll move on the seat belt around the strap and we should be good to, yeah, pass the seat Bel around, we should be good to keep some wings in there, not bad for a few hours of work, another reinforcement, triangular reinforcements. at the end and we are ready to go, oh boy, in a few hours, uh, I think we are ready to launch a wing that ended up wider for some reason, I think I got lazy, I forgot. to cut off those legs were already something like 900 or something like that um or maybe it looks like it should have been 900 and I think it's 1200, okay that wing, that wing and the wing on the floor will go on the shelf, everything is on wheels.
If you're going to build, put everything on wheels, my engine is on wheels now. I think what I'm going to try to do are pretty tall if you look at the wings on the shelf compared to the Cruiser is what I'm getting. If they fit under the wing there, it would be great against the wall. um I have a nice table here, my sort of upholstered table or soft table if you like, a carpeted table used to be great for covering model airplanes. There, like doing with solar film and things like that, quite a few airplane models were built very well on that, so I could clean this up.
You know, the M engine can go on the cow and the tank, put all that under the bench. the axles will go on the plane, I'll put the wheels on and we'll bring it in, I should use that table, we'll take it out here just to store things and we'll work on the fuselage, the fuselage will come, you know, towards the front. to work on that now I'll pull the struts um however outside of the I could do that now pull the struts out of the center wing complete that job okay with the alarm almost about to go off pick up from school I have the center section of the wing there with the cockpits , uh, built, my other wing rack is fantastic, it has wheels so obviously I can move them wherever I want.
I'll put the wings against each side of the hangar, clean that side like I said, take out the fuselage and start. Work on it, unfortunately the tail is going to fall off, but it gives me plenty of room on the hanger to move things around. There is a tile on the

camel

that looks good. The tile will be hung on the wall. I made my wing rack there. I did it. I didn't cut a single piece of wood, I just unscrewed them all and basically screwed them in a different format so it would fit really well, a new piece of seat belt and away you have a lot of room, a lot of room to take the cruiser out. a fly, I've calculated that this center section I'm going to hang it on the wall in that horizontal position and it will fit there in that section, hang it there, just run a tie down strap through it. the leading edge through the leading edge tube tie the strap right through there hang it out of the way and we'll start building the fuselage alright guys quick that was a quick recap of this week I did a lot get the plane apart . no damage, I'm very happy with how things turned out, like I said, there's plenty of room here now, whoever comes, whoever comes next in the hangar, they're going to be a little surprised because we basically separated the plane, it's progress. in the right direction so I'm going to start, it's probably the hump, I don't know, one day everything will be painted well again, I'm looking forward to that day, I hope you enjoyed the video, see you.
