traveled

from Cusco to Lima, to Sao Paulo and finally to Rio de Janeiro to visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer, which is the last of the seven

wonders

of the

world

that we have yet to see with our With our own eyes, but we are going to do much more than just see it.

We have been given special permission, like a very rare, very special permission, to climb inside the Statue. Don't pressure me, so stay until the end of the video to share it once. It will be an unforgettable experience with us, but first, as we travel to Rio, I want to take you on a little trip back in time and share the story of this nine-year journey that has taken us to visit the seven

wonders

of the

world

More Interesting Facts About,

we traveled to all 7 wonders of the world...

More than 100 countries, but somehow in all our trips we have missed Brazil and that changes today, since he is well, so let's talk about the wonders of the world. The first thing we need to understand is that there are actually several lists of the ancient wonders of the world. most of which no longer exist, they are the natural wonders of the world and a lot of different organizations have created their own list, but if you search on Google, there is a list that comes up constantly and it seems the internet agrees. that the current Seven Wonders of the World include the following, so you have the Great Wall of China and obviously China, the Colosseum in Italy, the Taj Mahal in India, Petra and Jordan, Christ the Redeemer in Brazil, Machu Picchu and Peru, and the chicken pizza, I'm referring to Chichén Itzá in Mexico, my goal with this video today is not only to tell you our story of visiting the seven wonders of the world but we also want to give you a little history of each one so that you leave this video knowing a little more of the world.

Unfortunately, we are not Johnny Harris, we do not have a research team and a full animation team behind us, but we will do our best to keep the story short and interesting so that our story travels to all the wonders of the world. actually starts long before this YouTube channel, back in 2013 we got married and our first big international trip we took together was to Thailand and all the way home from Thailand we had a 12 hour layover in Beijing and we hired a random lady disconnect from the Internet to pick us up at the airport and take us to the Great Wall, the Great Wall of China is the oldest of the Seven Wonders on this list and its original construction dates back to 700 BC, the Great Wall of China as we know it.

Today there are numerous walls that were built over 2000 years by different emperors of unified China. The best preserved and longest section of the wall is more than 5,000 miles long and was built by the Ming Dynasty as a fortification system to protect against Mongol invasion. The crazy thing about our visit is that after we left the airport and hit the highway, they closed the entire highway behind us due to bad weather, so once we got there, we were the only ones there and we pretty much had the chance. The entire Great Wall of China to ourselves. Honestly, I think we were too early in our travels to really appreciate what an incredible opportunity this was, so our second wonder of the world was still ahead of YouTube for our second anniversary.
I planned a surprise trip to Cancun. but this was not your typical Cancun beach vacation at a resort, we didn't have the money for that, at that time in our lives we are on the right track, no, don't go there, it says the alarm will go off, so we rented a cheap Airbnb. There really isn't much else to the story in this little yellow car we drove to Chitsanita. We did the typical tour and took some cheesy photos. Chichén Itzá was one of the largest ancient Mayan cities in the world. No one knows exactly when it was built, but researchers estimate.
It was built sometime between 500 AD. and the 1280. The reason we know so little about it is because it was actually lost in the jungle for hundreds of years and was only rediscovered about 150 years ago. There, thank you, is the most interesting part. That story was actually when we were leaving Chichén Itzá I ended up having to bribe a police officer because I forgot the insurance slip that I was supposed to have for the car, I left it at the hotel and he threatened to take me to jail. At that moment We'd only left the United States a few times, so bribing a police officer in Mexico seemed like one of the craziest things I'd ever done in my life, and we stayed in the living room too long as usual, oh, sweet home, for the next four and a half hour no way, okay, so I don't want to downplay the story of the wonders of the world, but I feel like I need to address this.
We weren't planning on flying in such nice seats, but a couple of days ago I received an email. That being said, do you want an offer to upgrade to business class? So I bid 300 to upgrade us both to business class and last night I got an email saying your offer had been accepted. I didn't look into what Latin business class was like, but uh, this is pretty amazing, this is the first time I've had a marble countertop on an airplane remote for the TV, a completely flat seat, and plenty of legroom, even there is bedding if I want to sleep to look at Bijou is our third wonder of the world. world and it was the first one we visited.
This was a really special trip for me because it was the first time my parents accompanied us on a trip. When we were traveling full time, we spent a week walking around the sacred site. Valley, we stayed in these crazy capsules on the side of a cliff and the trip culminated with a visit to Machu Picchu. Honestly, the weather was pretty horrible that day and we only caught a glimpse of Machu Picchu through the clouds. That is Machu Picchu. I feel like we've been very lucky with our other experiences and the different wonders, so this will probably be considered the worst experience, but that being said, Peru is on my top 10 list of favorite countries and Machu Picchu itself is amazing.
We just visited Machu on the wrong day. Picchu is known as the lost city of the Incas. The Incas were one of the largest empires in South America before the arrival of the Spanish. Once again, historians are doing their best to fill in the blanks because Machu Picchu was only rediscovered in 1911 by a man. named Hiram Bingham, it is still a complete mystery how the Incas were able to build such an impressive city from these giant stones that fit perfectly together, but it is believed that it was built around 1438. So we visited the Colosseum in Rome for the first time in the summer of 2017.
And as you can imagine, during the tourist season in one of the largest tourist attractions in Europe, it was completely full, the road to get there was three hours, but it is a rolling Colosseum, it is worth fighting between the crowd to see it with their own eyes and imagine. the history that has taken place there over the years I was surprised to learn that the Colosseum is actually the second oldest wonder on this list. It was built during the height of the Roman Empire in 80 AD. and remains the largest freestanding amphitheater in the world. I think it could hold about 50 to 80,000 people and I think most people know that it was most popularly used for Gladiator battles, but what you may not know is that they actually used to flood the Colosseum and hold mock naval battles So we've actually had the opportunity to visit the Whirlwind Coliseum twice.
Italy was the first place we visited in 2021 once the world started opening up again after the pandemic. Who cries and eats carbonara? We thought this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the Romans. Colosseum without crowds and instead of the three-hour wait we had in 2017. Over the weekend, three minutes, just as we expected to have the place practically to ourselves in 2018, we

traveled

to India for the Holy Festival, but no . A trip to India would be complete without a visit to the Taj Mahal. They had the great idea that we were going to get up early to be the first to arrive, have it all to herself at dawn, but apparently everyone else had the same idea after they woke up.
In the middle of the night, when we arrived at the ticket office in the dark, we were still accompanied by hundreds of our closest friends to see the sunrise at the Taj Mahal, even with all the people, the Taj Mahal is really magical, but I think the most memorable part of that. The day for me was all the families who asked Cara to take a photo of her holding her baby and give it back to the baby. The Taj Mahal was built in 1632 by Emperor Shah Jahan. At first glance, many people think it is a mosque, but it is actually a tomb that he built.
For his favorite wife after she died during childbirth, the construction process took 12 years and it is estimated that over a thousand elephants and 22,000 people were used during construction. When you're there in person, it's hard to believe that something so beautiful is so ornate. It was created without modern technology more than 500 years ago, so whenever we had the opportunity to visit a wonder of the world, we always treated it as a once in a lifetime experience, but somehow we had the opportunity to visit the Taj Mahal . Three times we were invited again in 2019 by a telephone company to film a commercial which for us at that time was a big deal and they wanted us to film The Taj Mahal with the phone, so we came back and last year we had the opportunity to travel on the train that was at the top of our bucket list which was the maharajas express and of course during our seven day trip we stopped at the Taj Mahal again so I can say with confidence that no matter how many times you visit the Taj Mahal, it never gets old Hi, sorry for the interruption, let me just say a quick thank you to the sponsor of today's video, someone I love very much.
Quick story time back in 2016 when we first went traveling full time my diet was terrible, still not perfect but it was really bad that four years later 2020 happened forcing Nate and I to come back to the US, slow down a little and live more like normal people who go to the grocery store every week and prepare my own food and I. Boy, no, that's when I first made the connection that what I put in my body has a direct impact on how I feel and just my overall health. I know it's crazy and that's when I first started prioritizing my health, which took me.
After discovering a G1, I convinced Nate to try it with me for a month and we instantly fell in love. I can honestly say that he has been part of our daily routine for three years, one of the many reasons I love the Ag-1 so much. It's because I would never pack more than 75 vitamins and minerals in my suitcase and carry it around the world, it would take up too much space and it sounds very annoying. Instead I just carry a bunch of these travel packs and my shaker and it's pretty much the same, it couldn't be more convenient and it's packed with nutrients that I know I don't get from my diet alone and it shouldn't be a surprise when you put All those goodness in your body, improve your immunity. your gut health and boost your energy, so if you're finally ready to try a G1 for yourself, click the link in our description below and you'll get a special offer consisting of five of these free travel packs plus a supply of a year of this immune system supporting vitamin D drops it because yes, it's almost midnight, but we did last but not least, we visited our sixth wonder of the world in 2019.
The treasure is the iconic building by the that Petra is known, but there is much more. To this complex the ancient city of Petra is believed to have been established around 300 AD. It was built by the Nabataeans who carved palaces, temples and tombs into the smooth sandstone cliffs. The Nabataeans gained their wealth by owning trade routes and collecting taxes from the caravans that passed through them. History says that an earthquake in 555 AD caused the Nabataeans to become wealthy. caused the disappearance of the city. Petra was actually a secret to the Western world until about 200 years ago when there was a huge storm on the day we visited that made our experience very special.
It happened at the end of the day so most of the people left and we continued the walk to the monastery and once we got there we practically had the place to ourselves but what was very special was the walk because the monastery was find at the endof Petra. complex and as we walked it was just us and the Bedouins who lived there. In fact, I'm realizing now that we've managed to have half of these wonders of the world to ourselves, the blizzard allowed us to be the only ones in the Great Wall greed drastically reduce the number of people in the Colosseum and then The storm left Petra to ourselves.
After reliving all these experiences, today I feel more grateful than ever for the specific experiences we have had in each Wonder of the World. but I think tomorrow will be the coolest of all, but it's already after midnight and we have to get up very early. I can't believe what we're going to do this morning. I woke up several times last night thinking about it, we do a lot. of exciting things, so there are some nights when I can't sleep, but last night was one of them. This morning we got up very early because we are actually going to climb the statue before it opens at 8am. to cause us little inconvenience.
You may know two people boarding a wonder of the world. Good morning abroad. ER is by far the newest of the seven wonders of the world. Construction of the statue was completed less than a hundred years ago, in 1931. The story goes that it was originally proposed to place a monument on top of a mountain in honor of Princess Elizabeth for freeing the slaves, but the princess asked for a statue of Jesus instead because he believed that he was the true Redeemer of humanity and that is how Brazil ended up building the newest wonder of the world.
The statue is 98 feet tall and the outstretched arms are 92 feet wide. Yes, my God, this is crazy. Look at that bridge. Wow, incredible. Take a look up, oh I didn't even see it. I don't know where to look to have this place to ourselves at dawn. The weather couldn't be more perfect. That's right, oh my gosh, look at this. I've seen a million photos of this place and nothing could have prepared me for this being here and we can do more than just being here abroad, it's hard to decide which way to look, you have the most incredible view of Rio on one side and then you have the Chrysler demon when you turn around and look up and just be up here and have it all to ourselves, that's more than enough, but now we can go up, look, these are all the toes of the Chrysler dealership .
Wow, if you ever wondered. what it's like to stand at the feet of Jesus and look up that's what I'm dreaming yeah it's pretty amazing from afar it looks like the Chrysler Redeemer is made of concrete but once you get closer it's made of this triangle mosaic Soapstones as there have to be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, that make up the exterior of Christ the Redeemer, even just by standing here and seeing it completely empty, so in case anyone is wondering how you can enter Christ the Redeemer, there is a small door. right at the top of the pedestal it's big enough for a person to walk through, you're in it, it's very common in Congress, we have to use this and I'm going to hit my head on the way, yeah, security is what first, we are walking and then you will do like this, this is going to happen to me.
I lived in a van long enough to know that yes, it's okay, safety first, if you are afraid of heights this may not be the experience for you. These stairs are very good afternoon, so these. The stairs we are climbing right now were obviously not built for tourists. The inside of the statue is only for power maintenance if Christ the Redeemer is struck by lightning and they need to make some repairs, but we are climbing the maintenance stairs. Inside the Chrysler Redeemer right now inside the heart there is like a capsule with paper with all the names written on it of the families that work in it in the cross section of the crisis.
It's pretty amazing to stand here and see how big this heart is from the outside you look and it's Tiny and it has the same soapstone it's on the outside of the statue these are the last four now I'm going to show you how you have to do this it's easy just come here this one it's Carlos the way he is the one who made all this possible we will always be indebted to you this is the last normal letter and we are about to have to start crawling oh wow it gets tight eh no way wow you just removed the shoulder, yeah, I feel like I've said this 12 times but I can't believe this is happening right now oh my god, don't pressure me.
My toes feel so weird right now. The fish is incredible. I don't know whether to be terrified or amazed right now. God, there are people, okay? This doesn't scare you as much as it scares me? I feel like heights don't normally bother me, my feet feel funny, it's the grand finale of the seven wonders of the world and also all this metal you see on the shoulder. all of these are lightning rods Carlos told us before that Christ the Redeemer is struck by lightning more than a hundred times a year I feel like I can't fully enjoy it because I'm not afraid oh my God I love you I love you too wow, it's okay, you have to get out of this hole, you have to get out of this hole, okay, okay, I think it's because I'm almost on my knees, wow, I like this better in a way, I feel much safer here, who has that, it really gives.
You get a perspective of how big it is, the head is twice as tall as me, what a great ending. I didn't expect to be so emotional. I mean, who's surprised? Okay, this time his left shoulder comes out. No, what's wrong, Jesus? I can not believe it. That's me standing here right now I just took a selfie with Jesus it's no big deal it's a big deal thank you for one of the most special experiences of my life Search for the seven wonders of the world Seven years ago we saved money to take a year Get out and travel, we never imagined that we would still be traveling today and we had definitely never imagined that we would have the opportunity to be here, so before we leave we just want to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you who watch these videos and allow us to live a better life than our craziest dreams.
