More Interesting Facts About,

I love the Arma 3s platform. I have the Typhon. I have the scented one. I have the granite. I have the big rock. the vortex i don't know if i'm missing any besides vendetta maybe soon i think they are a really good car for the price completely ready to go out of the box just supply your own battery next to the gun infringement 3s blx On this side we have the

mega

infringement of weapon. Now these cars probably share a good 95 of the same parts, but I wanted to put them side by side and show you some of the similarities, some of the differences and after that we're going to hit this in a lot of different ways, but this is a real street attack and uh let's get into that bonus material and let's get into the review so first let's start with the visuals.

Both cars have the exact same body style. They are interchangeable, you can swap them left and right, but the color schemes are different. The 3s blx comes in this Rusto black and tan mod color combination as well as black and as a teal color. The

mega

version comes in this red and blue, red, white and. blue version as well as black teal and it's kind of a tan color with a little bit of white in it too so two different color versions for both and they both look really cool. I love this body design. I think they look nice if you like one color a lot more than the other, but you have one versus the other, obviously you can swap them back and forth leaving the bodies aside, we get into the meat and potatoes of these cars and As I said before, about 95 of the parts are interchangeable.

So if you have one that you're looking to upgrade you definitely can so let's start with the front, basically everything from the front and mechanically it's exactly the same. We have the same front bumper, the same shock tower, the same shock absorber, the same arms. That's the same thing, but you'll notice the wheels are different. The mega comes with these more off-road style tires that, like I said, are interchangeable, so they're both 14 millimeter hex tires, so you can swap them back and forth if you want. Are you looking to bring your off-road blx version or your mega on-road version.
You can change them and not have problems just for reference. This is another mega violation I purchased and as you can see the tires are completely bald. On this thing, I put it on 3 second power and a brushless system and burned these tires to practically nothing after about two battery packs, so if you're going to use this on the street, try to get the street tires or simply exhaust them. Until they look like street tires moving a little further back, you can see we go into the electronics and they both have the same servo spectrum, but you go back a little further and you get into the real differences of these cars, obviously the mega version. it's got a brushed ESC here hooked up to this big brushed motor and it comes with a 3300 milliamp hour speed pack, uh, nickel metal hydride battery right in the box, so it's really cool to have a car that's completely ready to go, You don't need to buy an extra battery, but you can upgrade it in the future.
You can run this in a 2 second lipo. I just have to change the little connectors here on the esc. The blx version here can run on 2 and 3. We have a smart spectrum. The battery it contains is a 500 milliamp hour 100c 3s discharge battery. I bought it separately, it fits perfectly here and you will be able to take advantage of those smart features when you use a smart battery. The blx version has an ec5 connector while the brushed version has an ec3 connector just something to note, you can easily swap them by stepping back a little further on the blx version.
We have a 120 amp brushless ESC as well as a 3900 kv brushless motor with heat sink and fan in the mega version. it only has the brush motor, no heatsink or fan, but you can add those and it would definitely help to keep these temps low on this one, right in between all the electronics on this car, it has the same driveshaft on both. BLX version here you have a bearing and a bearing bracket on the driveshaft, this will keep the driveshaft spinning very smoothly and very straight at those higher speeds. Now I did a conversion on one of these cars uh two brushless and when I turned it on for 3 seconds the driveshaft started to wobble a little so you can always add the bearing and bearing bracket on the mega si version you want, again they have the same chassis, the same fenders here, the same bumpers on the side, so the bearing will be interchanged.
If you step back a little further, nice and simple, you will see some differences in the motor mount, the blx version has the blx motor mount and slipper assembly, while you can see here that the brushed version does not have that motor mount. blx motor and you have a different slipper assembly here again you can change these electronics directly to the mega version you could even just take out the whole brushless motor assembly and place it here with the bearing there and this is ready to go Continue with 3s of brushless power. That said, both cars have the same differentials, which is really nice and says all that information online.
Link where you can get both cars below. Parts availability is great from both via horizon or any third party suppliers, as I mentioned before the blx version comes with the brushless system and the new Spectrum dx3 remote control. This is a great smart remote control that pairs well with smart batteries that give you a battery level indicator. This is an excellent update. to any blx system because it has that smart battery capacity and obviously you have your acceleration limits there, you also have avc on this which is really cool, which straightens out the tires if you're getting into those high speed drifts and races.
This is going to go very, very straight now that I didn't have any range issues on the mega and that's because the slt3 remote is still a very good remote but it just has a few fewer features than the dx3 we're right next to . asp aguam skatepark let's see if we can get some jumps on this thing that's so weird so my final thoughts this car was as fun as I expected it's like the 3 like the bilge and the vortex platform but more gear oriented street and it's a blast to drive and drift, you can't stop this thing from leaking and with that drift comes bald tires, these things are basically shot, I raced them at the skate park, I raced them up and down my driveway outside my house and I also ran it in Limerock Park recently.
I could put up a video with just that footage, but these tires held up pretty well. I didn't really get them to smoke too much. Just driving them, I think it's something else if you push it against the wall and burn it, you'll make those tires smoke, but I wanted to save them as much as possible and just give them the beans, wherever I drove it, but enough rambling on this car. It's a great addition to any car collector's collection and I forgot to mention that it actually comes with a 26 tooth sprocket in the box that I have yet to install so I will definitely do a speed video on this car if you want. to check it out, I know there are probably a couple out there already, but let me know if you want to do some quick runs with this.
I'll definitely show it to you, so I'll say one more time, thank you again. The rc driver family online thanks again to horizon and weapon, this car is going to be used a lot on the channel, so until next time, thanks again for watching, peace.
