Time to go harvest some peanuts

. We've been harvesting for about two days, so I just finished digging

some

peanuts

yesterday and someone else. He's going to cover for me now because my brother ended up working pretty late yesterday with the rescue, so they needed some extra help to help run the peanut crew here, so that's where I'm headed now, I'm going to service all the harvesters, huh. I think there are some trucks showing up, so we'll load up some trucks with peanuts, load them up and get them out of here and then I think some

after lunch we'll also move on to the next field that we have to get.

Because these first 60 acres are almost done, they need a few more rounds, so we're going to do those few rounds and then move on to the next field, another 60 more acres of Virginias, so there will be some peanut harvest today. to be, it's going to be good, well, I didn't do much here. I started just taking out all the air filters so we could clean them. I did all that. This one is already full of fuel, but now I just said, my truck. who passed by here headed to the basket, so I'll go there and fill it quickly, there may be two or three trucks coming, not that I'm not very sure, but we'll fill some semi-trailers and then return to service, turn on the conveyor first, actually let's turn all this off because the blade could turn this way, they turned all this off on this side, my lights are off so now I can go back to the side and then turn the the protractor works fine, the shaker, here you go, we made a video about it last year, but basically what this setup does and what helps us is that when we can't get trucks, we can still hit because we can fill this basket with trailers this size.

These are pretty big sized trailers for this company, you can fit about two and a half, maybe three semi trailer loads in here and that's like full of what you can get with smaller trailers, then you can get maybe three of them maybe a little bit more, but basically we can accumulate a lot of peanuts here, keep hitting and then this machine right here in the middle is a shaker that cleans it cleans it more, as you can see coming off the end, there's a lot here. There's still a lot of dirt coming out, so it's just extra junk that we don't want in there, all the lsks that we don't really want, and those extra twigs and branches and stuff, they're all going to come out this end, right here, so if that's the case.

Basically, it makes it a lot cleaner and then we just move it from the agitator to a conveyor to load the semi-trailer. Basically everyone in this area, if they can, usually runs a setup similar to something like this, it's really nice. and practical, a lot of people love it, I love it, we personally have it set up and semi truck drivers tell us that with the setup we have we can load the fastest of them all, I guess something about the transporter that just works very fast and it loads it up pretty quick and on the basket side, things just have sprouts here like this, little doors everywhere that you can open, open whatever you want right now, it's unloading from the Here back there's a parachute in this side, I'll walk this way.

This chute here is open, so you can usually run about one shot open if you're in a hurry, the shaker and transporter can handle one shot and a half open. but if you want it cleaner, you know you should do a little less

We're going to wait a little bit and putting my basket down, we made a slight modification to the combine to see if we can get to a place where we can thresh faster, go faster, so we'll see if we can try it. works on this common field, let's change it to change the same thing to that other combine. I guess now we'll go to the field and see how it works and we're harvesting peanuts. We have some guys behind me. We're checking it out to see how good it looks, they're telling us what to do if we need to change something so it doesn't have to come off the lid or anything.

I can keep going about a mile per hour. hour right now we tried to go an hour and a half, uh, it didn't seem to work. I guess it's still a little early in the morning, still a little too humid, so we'll probably have to stick with one until now. Not bad, but we're still trying to figure out why this combine isn't doing as good a job as that combine. For some reason it seems like from the back of my combine it's just spitting out a bunch of broken peanuts, it feels like it's hitting too hard and we've got it, we've got it all rejected, but now we're ready to try to get it back up and I've got it at 150 and the lowest it can go is 130. so we're trying a few different things if we can make it look a little better.

I'm not sure if it's still good or not, but they're walking everywhere, they're making sure to tell us what we need. do it for now, I'm just sitting here combining and here is going to be my first load of the year, it looks good, although there are a lot of peanuts, I like it and now we are also salvaging, it looks good, well this field is finished, going back to the threshing next field yeah it looks like we have some stones here again it's not as bad as last year's field but there are some and now they're kicking me out of the combine but my dad will be driving for What a shame for me okay , have fun, so, okay, so the reason I got kicked off the tractor or not trying to combine the tractor is because I want to turn on or I'm supposed to turn on this pivot right here, uh, we were. about to dig dig this field the diggers are at that end of the field we were about to dig it but there's a chance it's going to rain tomorrow and it looks like it's really going to rain tomorrow so we want to wait until after the rain and more these Peanuts don't They're completely ready, so I want to put them here now. 100 that will work for now.

I want to water a little bit here just to moisten the soil a little bit because it's a little bit. dry so I have to open this valve there you go and then I think this well is not working let's open that one too here we go that sounds like it's working yeah hi I think the clock might be broken because I can hear it pump, yes. The clock is taking forever. I'll come back to that in a minute anyway, so the ground is a little dry, so I'm going to put in about three tenths, maybe four tenths to send the pivot really fast and then if it rains, I'll turn it off, but if it doesn't That's right, we're just going to water a little bit to get the soil nice and moist and then it's going to make it easier to dig up the peanuts, so in a couple of minutes this pivot will be up and running. and then I'll probably go back to the combines and see what else needs to be done.

She is running well and it is the next morning and we are going to load trucks again. We have some clouds in the distance. a little bit, if you look at the ground, you see a little dot, yeah, we're getting a few sparks here and there, so luckily last night they finished this field, so the peanuts are off the field, that's good, we just have this basket, the we need empty and then we can move on to the next field our next location uh-oh what happened there that's weird why the shaker isn't working I'll figure it out okay I got it working we're back in business so we want to move soon the empty baskets on that side They needed the rest of it, but I just said there were a lot of peanuts on the pivot, so I'm going to grab one of these carts and go clean it up.

It wasn't me who made the mess. I wonder who it was. Okay, we move to the next field.
