contracts the Browns should

consider

cutting

in 2023 The Bleacher Report seasons number one Anthony Schwartz is scheduled to make 1.1 million in 2023 1.3 million in 2024. I understand he has to produce, he has been a disappointment as the number two pick of third round Jacob Phillips will make 1.1 million

season last year, he has a contract with flash potential to be a decent contributor, he has been injured, well I am pretty much his entire time here, there has been a major injury that he has been dealing with, number three, Jordan Elliott Elliott. Nick scheduled for 2.7 million in the final year of his rookie contract.

The salary does not match the defensive lineman's overall production. Seven quarterback hits. Two and a half sacks in three seasons. None of these contracts really move the needle as far as the dollar figure goes, but the point is that young guys have to produce, these are draft picks that have had every opportunity. I imagine there will be a sense of urgency to win with the front office and coaching staff because they will have to. They have to make the playoffs next year, oh 100, they have to make the playoffs next year, but what are you talking about here and if you add those three contracts, you're talking about five million dollars, I mean, and with the salary. limit where it is now um yeah, I mean, if that's the most important thing you need to leave behind, you know, I don't know what to say, I mean, and you're still going to keep Anthony Schwartz around because you want him to have a full year of OTAs a full summer with DeShaun Watson Jacob Phillips there were times when a rookie played well wasted a lot of time a lot of people thought he was going to be a solid contributor around the two uh ended up tearing his bicep early enjoying practice when the New York Giants didn't come back until the end of the season when basically the season was over at that point anyway Jordan Elliott a 2.7 million dollars look you drafted Jordan Elliott you drafted him for about 100 um now he's going to be in the final year of his four-year contract at $2.7 million, not a terrible number to pay for someone to be a backup defensive tackle.

point, you don't know how to avoid it in all truth and honesty, but all these guys are going to be The question is: do they survive this summer? Will they move? I know career linebackers in the NFL, look at Reggie Raglan who was on a Las Vegas practice squad for as long as he was and all of a sudden the Browns need a linebacker, they brought him in at the end of the year and he was still able to produce, um, I understand some. Problems with these guys and maybe some disappointment with these players in general, but these players are not making a lot of money, the Browns will be able to and still, even if you get rid of these three contracts, five million dollars will not get you. a lot on the open market, it won't even get you a Paris Campbell, chances are it will, and again, it's kind of like what I was buying, it doesn't move the needle, so you're wrong to stick with it for a year too. more or a year more than getting rid of them a year too soon, eh, Jeff Lloyd, and all that said too, if they called, I mean, they won't hang up the phone if someone calls asking about these guys, but they are in a similar position they were last year with Ernest and Kareem.
