nomad

s no we are not we have an apartment and what is the idea behind that team you know what the norm is maybe it's not just one reason There are many reasons, aren't they?
why we are not nomad travellers the strain and stress
We kept the apartment and we're going to talk about that now in a little more detail, so when we come back from a trip, that's one of the most important things that we have a place to go as soon as we land from A trip abroad. and we leave the airport we feel at home, we walk through the front door here and it's like putting on a comfortable pair of old slippers, it's a wonderful feeling, isn't it normal? We just walk in and say ugh! like we were home, it's a wonderful feeling, it's our happy place and it's great to be back, right?

More Interesting Facts About,

why we are not nomad travellers the strain and stress...

And we can lie on the couch and do nothing and just relax and catch our breath from the trip and there's absolutely nothing. Pressure at that moment to return home is wonderful, right? And I think it's something that having a home where you have access to family and friends as we get older is important, isn't it absolutely normal? We love to connect. As a rule, it is said about both family and friends, and this is also something very important in retirement and, as you get older, socializing and connecting with people gives you that good feeling in life, right? is that so?
why we are not nomad travellers the strain and stress
When we travel it is sometimes quite isolating, especially when there is a foreign language; There is a small barrier to making friends in foreign countries, whereas when we return home we see our friends, we chat and we have stories to tell because we have been away and it is just a great interaction, it gives us a psychological and well-being feeling of belonging. somewhere because you know otherwise it's like being adrift on a boat, it's also fun, because even when you're traveling and it's exciting to go to new places, it can be quite isolating in a way, you know, we're just For the two of us, you stay in one place, you go shopping or you go to restaurants or something, but you're kind of isolated even though you're enjoying a new experience, so we really appreciate socializing when we get back, don't we?
why we are not nomad travellers the strain and stress
The other thing that we don't find attractive is having to look for a place every 30 days or 60 days to keep going, so you get to a place, uh, for a month, let's say, well, in a couple of weeks you're thinking about where to go. Let's go next, we'll be homeless in less than two weeks, so you really have to go back into planning mode again, don't you? You have to book the next flights, find the next place to stay and that brings us back to normality, something we have now discovered, the fact that we are also looking for accommodation, but at the last.
In a couple of years, prices for places like Airbnb and Vrbo have skyrocketed, haven't they, at least doubled if nothing else, so I think it used to be a cheaper way to be a nomad before. now it's actually a lot more money, before it was a cheap lifestyle and the problem is that you end up going to Europe, let's say, and experimenting and traveling in that, while you have the 26 countries that make up the Schengen region, eh, you just have 90 days and then you have to leave 26 countries in Europe and find somewhere else to go. It's a pressure, isn't it?
It really is and for us it's more

stress

than we really want. It is not like this? The idea is to be retired and have less

stress

instead of more stress. The problem is that you arrive at a place for, say, a day or two months, but for one day of a month you just discover the lay of the land and then I leave again, yes, it is strange sometimes, isn't it one of The number one things I like about having an apartment as a base of operations as a traveler? Do I have a place to store my things?
Yeah, it's not, it's not inside, right? It's not in a damp storage place uh no oh or in it or even just in a suitcase, normally we know where everything is, don't we when we come back and it's a great feeling, right? Yes this is quite unique and it's just happened but it has the potential to happen again with covid19 it came pretty quickly out of nowhere and we were in Portugal at the time and we could see it was getting worse but luckily we were already gone in February. of 2020, but there were people who were stuck in countries because many countries closed their borders and many flights were canceled, so you could stay in a country you didn't want to be in for a couple of months until those borders. opened up and that's a big danger of traveling and getting caught up in something like a pandemic.
The norm of the actual fact is that some of our viewers came and said that they had been stuck for much longer than a couple of months, yes, we were lucky, right? We had our flight booked so within two weeks we were back home, but these are very unusual circumstances and regulations that governments change all the time, aren't they? So I think the main thing that we're not a digital nomad and the reason we keep the apartment is because we think it reduces a lot of stress, yeah, and it increases our psychological well-being knowing that we belong somewhere in the world, so it's A nice feeling, right?
It really is and it's great to lay on the couch and the other thing too is that no, remember, we don't have to worry about that when we're out, we just close the door and you're gone, we don't own this place. We just rent it, so basically, once we close the door, we don't worry about it, no, and it's a very nice feeling, right? So we hope everyone is staying well and safe and until next time, bye. bye
