They separate and Anna is very heartbroken telling herself that she will never see him again. Anna and Kate intend to celebrate in a pub when her final exams are over. Christian unexpectedly sends Anna a box containing copies of the first edition of the exam in the derbervilles worth thousands of dollars. She is perplexed as to why he would send her such an expensive gift despite her rejection. Anna gets very drunk that night at the bar and calls Christian to ask him why he bought her books.

Anna and Christian are fully dressed and he is taking a call from Welsh, his security advisor. He is clearly angry about something and asks Welsh to find her.

He hangs up and looks at Anna. He unpacks his MacBook, Blackberry, and Audi car keys and places them on the breakfast bar. She asks for the money Taylor got for selling her Beetle.
