DIY Crate Easy Home Decor

foreigner and welcome once again to Zoby's DIY, today we are going to make a mini box rack and we are going to feed a couple of things that you can also buy at Dollar Tree or you can buy at Walmart or Michael's for For this project we are going to need two small boxes. You can use both the same size or you can use one longer and the other smaller. I use longer and smaller. We will need four wooden cubes and then a multiple cube. cutter and also a coat hanger, you want to get the one with a straight line and then some brown acrylic paint and then a glass of paint, also glue and a glue stick, okay, so let's start with the coat. hanger and we're going to cut half along the middle right here, use the multi cutter for this, we're going to cut half along this side and then this side, but first we're going to go ahead and cut off the head of the hanger and If you have one of these tools, be careful when you use it, so we're going to cut along this side here and we're going to apply a little bit of force to cut like this, then we're going to cut the middle of the hanger and We're starting with this side , so we cut like this right where the little bubble is and we cut like this and then we also cut the one in front of it, so we'll make sure that both sides when you do that is even, so when you cut it, both pieces would be even and you would line them up and you would measure like this just to make sure they're both cut evenly and it looks like they were as you can see here. the bottom part are cut evenly and then we also cut the little hooks and we'll save them for a different project so just cut along the side like this and then we'll do the same thing for the other um the other part of the hanger let's go too Let's cut that small part and then we're also going to cut the remaining piece at the bottom as you can see, we're going to cut that small part as well for Both parts of the hanger, once you're done cutting both sides, they'll look like this and We'll set that aside for now and we'll go ahead and do the next step for the boxes that We're going to start painting them brown and I'm going to go ahead and use a little bit of brown or click paint and a little bit of water, we're going to do that too. to dilute there and then we are also going to paint. the four little cubic squares too, so we're going to add a little bit of water to one of the little paint cups and add some brown acrylic paint.

I started with a little bit to start and then we'll mix it up. all right and add a little bit of water and then once we're mixing it, if we see that it's too runny or too runny, we can go ahead and add a little bit more that way, it's not too runny like we see here, um, It's your preference, but I went ahead and added a little bit more brown paint to make it a little bit darker and so on, and then we'll go ahead and paint the crepes and paint all of them. From this we're going to paint the inside of them as well and then the sides, the only part that, um, isn't necessary, but it's going to look good like if you painted the bottom, but I painted everything, including the bottom looks good too. good that way and even thank you, the foreign boxes are all painted and dried.

We're adding the little Cubit squares to the bottom instead and I went ahead and added the little squares to the box that's the longest. that has a hole in the side, so we're going to place them along the bottom on all four sides of the box and this is going to be the box that goes on the bottom outside, they're going to look like this and we're going to use the two pieces that we cut out of The Hanger and we're going to go ahead and glue them to the sides of the boxes and we're going to glue them along the side like this, so we're going to I mean, put the hanger towards the front, but then we're going to leave it out a little bit, As you can see, part of the hanger will stick out like this, but we'll place it along the side like this.

We're just going to make sure that it's even and it's going to be a sturdy place like this and we're going to do the same thing for both sides and then once we glue both sides together, we're going to go ahead and glue the one that's on the top of the box on the bottom. top like this now to make sure we're sticking them on the same even side on both sides of the boxes. I'm going to go ahead and use a pencil and I'm going to line up where I'm going to go and glue that part, so I'm going to go ahead and mark it along the side right there with a pencil and I'm going to glue that little part.

Also, I'm now using the glue gun to do the marking, but I ended up using a pencil. I noticed that it was easier to mark the sides evenly as far as where I'm going to go ahead and place the glue, but in this case I measured before placing the hanger piece and then I'm going to do the same for the other side once I both sides are glued together as well as you can see here like this, I'm going to go ahead and glue the top box together as well as you can see. I glued them along the side like this and that way it's sturdy and then I can go ahead and put the top one on and then on this one I'm going to mark the same thing. with the pencil and then glue the sides.

I just want to make sure that I want it level and that I want it straight and sturdy and then also that it's level with the other side of the box that way, it's not crooked, but right there. I looked at more marks where I want it and how straight I want it and then I mark it and then I glue that side and the same with the other foreign side and this is how it will look guys, so

and cute and fun. I really enjoyed making this cute little overseas box project for the next project, we're going to go ahead and use a couple of things I bought at Michael's and also at Dollar Tree.

I bought these cute little cupcakes at Michael's, they were actually 99 cents. Which I thought was a great price for each. We're also going to need a coat rack. This is a baby rack and we're going to need some toothpicks. Some thumbtacks. A little acrylic paint would be preferable. Brown and red and then. a small cup for the paint I also bought them at Michael's they are the circles they are the three inch circles these are the largest ones um that I discovered that we are going to use and then I also bought a little package of these um small dice circles too, these are 1 .5 inches, we're going to need four of each, so yeah guys, let's get started, we're going to start painting the crepes and we're going to use the brown acrylic paint and the red acrylic paint.

We're going to mix them really well and we're also going to go ahead and add a little bit of water so it's blended, we don't want it super dark, but we do want it to be more red than brown. kind of like making it more like a cherry brown color, very close to those two colors, so yeah, we're going to mix it very, very well and then we're also going to do it with a little bit of water and we're going to mix it very well, so if I need add more, we can move on. Now for the coat rack, this is a baby coat rack that I'm using over and over again like in a previous video. I'm going to go ahead and use a multi cutter and first I'm going to cut off the head of the hanger right there and again, guys, if you have this tool, just be careful.

Be careful when you use it, so we put a little force on it and then cut it. It seems like this hanger, for some reason, is a little bit harder, so you want to go ahead and put more force into it to get it closer. the end of the multicutter and then we cut half of the hanger like this and then we also cut the other half and again we will make sure that we cut them evenly and this is one One of the most important things is that we are cutting both that are even because they will be the ones that will be standing for this project, as you can see, I'm lining them up and then making sure both ends are cut. uniformly it looks like this part is even, but then this part is not quite even, so I'm going to go ahead and cut that little part down there that way it's even with the other with the other side and once it's cut I'm going to measure again and it looks like it's both parts of the hanger and then the other side, so we're going to put them away, we're going to set them aside for the next step, now for this step we're going to move on. and we glue our two pieces of hanger to the box and we're going to glue them diagonally on the box looking down a little bit, we're going to make a little cart, so we're just going to level it out and make sure it's level with the coat rack as you can see the small side there's like a hook that I left just let's make sure it's at an angle to where I'm going to go ahead and glue it on and I'm going to use a pencil.

It seems like with the pencil, once we line it up, I know exactly where the glue is going to go. That way when we glue our hanger part it will be in exactly the same position once I glue this part we are going to do the same for the other side of the box both sides are glued together this is how it will look , as you can see, it's a little bit tilted, the credit is a little bit tilted down, so it's in a diagonal position and this is what it's going to look like, so now let's move on to the next part.

For this part we're going to go ahead and glue our wooden circles onto our little cart here, but before we do that, we're going to go ahead and do some alignments, you're going to draw a line down the center and this one is going to be vertical, then you're going to draw another horizontal line. like this and then another diagonal line like that, so let's go To go ahead and draw a kind of pizza pie cut out in the circles like this and we're going to do this on the four, the biggest ones, now we're adding the pins on the four circles in the center. and this will form our little wheels that we will use for our box cart so the pins are a little hard to push so we will need a little force when you push them and just be careful not to get punctured thanks once it's done We're going to use the toothpicks but first we're going to start cutting them in half and we're going to need eight of them, eight half of each toothpick that We're going to start gluing the wheels once we're done cutting them and we're going to start gluing them to along the lines that we drew before, as you can see, and we're going to paste the first one and it's going to go along this line. like this and then we're going to put the toothpick like this and we're going to do that around the circle where we marked our lines with the foreign pencil that's what our little wheel is going to look like so cute that We're going to go ahead and repeat the same steps and do the same thing with our other circles so once this is done we will also use a thread that we will glue around the edge of the circle, this makes the circle look more realistic like a small wheel and once this is done for the other two smaller circles I just put a little bit of glue in the center and that's it, I didn't add any of the toothpicks or the twine.

I realized that it looks cute with just a little bit of glue, so we're going to go ahead and glue the larger wheels to our little box cart and you can stick the pin through the coat hanger on the back, but I realized . that the plastic is very hard and I decided to just glue it for better stability, but if you can push it then you are more than welcome, it would be much better, but in this case for something else. It's faster and easier, you know, glue the wheel like this and again, just make sure both wheels are lined up and this is what it will look like on the tip of the pin if you decide to glue it like this.

I just make sure to put a little glue on the tip so it doesn't stick out or anything and yeah, you guys like that on the back ones, then we're going to glue the two smaller circles on the front of the card. and you just need a good amount of glue to be able to use it. go ahead and use it on each side just make sure they are both level so when you put it on the floor it will be nice and sturdy and i also want to mention that i made two of these little cards from box with the materials that we used and I just thought it would be really cute and fun to have two of the same so they are next to each other and yeah guys this is the final look, this is how it will look like this, so cute, I love it, really, really.
