review

ing the Condor Australian Army Machete. It has a sort of prayer leaf shape, blade just under 13 inches, and walnut handle. made in El Salvador with 1075 high carbon steel, don't disappear because I have Australian Ironwood right here which is an invasive species in Hawaii and we are going to test this blade on an Australian Army Ironwood

machete

against a stick of Australian ironwood. There is a fallen Ironwood tree over here. I'm going to see how this sheet cuts.

I would say it's more of a knife than a

machete

. You know, a knife blade just under 13 inches. It's so thick for a machete. Well, look how he cuts it. It has a lanyard hole, a nice walnut handle, and is contoured, so I think it should cut pretty well. Wow, the iron was hard, this machete or I would call it a big knife, it measures 18 inches overall with a blade almost 13 inches, not quite. I'm unsure about the thickness, but it's definitely thicker than the standard machete. It has a walnut handle and a baked oil coating and weighs about a pound and a half.

It has a convex edge with a machete or Scandinavian sharpening. You call it Scandinavian VEX. edge and it's full tang with a lanyard hole and brass pins and I really like that big down coating, it helps with the rest but you can tell you'll have to protect it. I use Froglube to protect my blades if I live in a colder part of the country or in a colder country. I would suggest not using Froglube because it usually coagulates in the cold, but in the tropics Froglube is excellent. Now I'm going to talk about the handle. I'm going to sand the handle. so it fits my hand a little bit better, I think it's safe, you know, it's a good handle and it's nice to be able to shape it to my hand.

I was getting some vibration, but that's obvious because I was cutting down a large Ironwood tree. I would not do it. cut anything larger than maybe a 3 or 4 inch diameter tree with this big knife so there you have it, it's definitely shaped like a prayer leaf and this part of the blade is so you can get up there and not I was getting any hot spots you know, pretty good control, you know, carving and getting it closer to the blade. I'm going to turn this hibiscus type plant into a bark cord. It is a very strong bark cord and this machete should be able to handle it.

It's definitely softer than Ironwood, like I said, it's basically a bush, it's related to the high viscosity, so here we go with a little chopping, oh yeah, easy, okay. I'm going to open this coconut with an Australian

army

Wow, I just twisted big knots. Look at how it's twisting amazing Wow completely just twists Wow for this size people this is twisted this is no joke look at that and Scandi grind is helping to split the wood this is just iron wood it's hard Wow , a little twisted. I would say okay, let's light this fire, oh god, I'm almost sure it has a 90 degree column, yes, a 90 degree column, let's try this, it's a multitasking tool, there we go, okay, so there it is pretty good and it's ready to brew some super ginger tea still a little bit. hot I'm going to let it cool a little bit, okay, let's see how that Scandinavian grind works against the bamboo, let's cut this bamboo right here, oh yeah, the bites are deep, very nice, no problem, amazing rudder edge , Oh yeah. she is good here is a comparison between the ecological prey Condor and the Australian

army

machete Condor.
You can see that they both have a joke leaf shape. The Australian Army's machete is definitely Westernized. I guess you would call it, that's the best description you can give. I liked the handle better on the Condor Eco Perret because of the curved shape and it is simply better for quick cuts and is more comfortable overall, although with the walnut handle on the Australian Army machete you can shape it and know it is wood, so it's easier for your hand to shape and the blade is ground into the eco-friendly joke. I think it's better. You can see that it's taller even though it's a thinner blade, a little bit thinner, but the edge of the blade is higher and that makes it more slicing, so in my opinion.
The green prank we just did was better and they have similar blade lengths and lengths and similar weight. I think the eco-friendly prayer is lighter, but I find that curved handle on the parain better, so there you have the comparison of two Condor blades, deliciously strong. ginger tea is ok, then the Condor Australian Army machete has a swollen palm, but I wish the handle had a little more angle, more like a traditional gray handle, there is a little vibration. I didn't really have any hot spots even though not choking seemed fine. I liked the hole for the lanyard.
It is a full tang knife. See that full spike? I think it's more of a knife than a machete, so I'm going to modify the handle, sand it, wax it and it tends to swell. in the jungle and on the coast, so I'm going to wax it real good, sand it, shape my hand and wax the handle with a little bit of cutting board wax or something so it has more grip and I usually do that with everyone my mangoes that's it and of course you're going to have to protect the 1075 steel it had an edge and when it came from the factory it's pretty sharp very sharp and it's still pretty sharp and I've been hitting it I've got it sharp.
I haven't dropped it and I think I could probably get another day's work out of this edge and that's what Condor you know you have so you can sharpen them in the field because they don't hold an edge. Condor knives and machetes don't stay sharp as long as other companies because of their Rockwell hardness, you know he tried them as hard as he could and the reason they do that is so you can sharpen them in the field like a rock . or something like that because in El Salvador where this is done people don't have much so they might have to use a stone, the rivers are still in the sharpener mache so anyway I'm going to say that the jungle showed that there are some minor complaints, such as with the handle.
I wish it was more of a curved handle, but of course it's a western interpretation of a parade, here's the Australian army machete machete, you know, in the past, this design has been available for a long time and this is basically just a replica or a copy, I should say a functional copy, the Australian Army machete, okay, you did it now Salvador seventy five high carbon steel, full tang scandi VIX grind and yeah, there you have it. I like the sheep, the sheath is pretty awesome, it's canvas or linen and it has a pocket right here and you can put it like a Pharisee and a rod or a whetstone in there.
I like that it has a tie-down point for your leg to put on your belt. A generous belt loop. Hold the knife there very well. this strap, this strap with buttons, right there, the overall belt looks like I was saying and it's not a great belt anchor, but I would tie it to my backpack, it's a little too big to use consistently as a belt line that you could if necessary. I've been using it as a baldric, you know, you have a sling which is really nice or you just put it in your backpack. Now it seems quite difficult.
I like the sheep to come and go easily. Well, who is this for? Well, I would. Let's say of course with the blade about 13 inches behind there won't be a clear major trail, but we're going backpacking or if you want to clear a small campsite or a small area this is great so I'll bring this. You know, backpacking is perfect, also some people say, oh, you know, it's not 21 inches, so it's useless. There are no 21-inch machetes. I actually don't like them because they get unwieldy and when you're backpacking you're not going to clear, you know, acres and acres. of dirt, so a small machete is really perfect, you know, like you know this size; maybe an 18 inch bladed machete for backpacking, that's what I usually carry, so I've carried this backpack.
I'm sure you know that a couple day backpacking trip would serve you well, you know, on a three blade system with a saw, a smaller belt knife and these can be set up well and they work. I bought it for sixty-six dollars so it was jungle approved and I will provide you with a link in the description box where you can buy this machete if you like it and that helps support the channel. I will say that the jungle proved to be just a couple of minor issues, but it's no big deal, it's a classic design.
I'm exploring it and will use it a lot on the farm. I've used it a lot on the farm over the last two months using it and you've seen it in a couple of videos. Okay, jungle approved. Go to that link if you want to buy this machete and I appreciate the like, thank you. for the comment let me know what you think of this machete if you are going to buy it or not and you know what you think of this
