Steven Universe Fusions: Weak to Powerful

May 05, 2024
Many

fusions

have been revealed in Steven Universe over the years. Some were expected and others quite surprising. Each has their own set of skills that sets them apart from the rest, and we think it's time to address the question: Which fusion stands out? I'm Brad with WickedBinge and this is Steven Universe Fusions: Weak to Powerful. Now we have some placement rules before we begin. Fusions are the physical and magical abilities of each gem (or person), so we will take into account who forms that fusion and how much power it brings to this team. Now, for each of these

fusions

, they had time to figure out what skills they could transfer and what weapon they could create.

It's important to note that sometimes a gem has a level of strength that it didn't have with other fusions or certain combinations show to be more stable than others, so that will also affect the ranking. To begin, we are going to place two fusions of the Off-Colours: Rhodonite and Fluorite. Despite being completely Gem, we don't actually see them perform any great acts or heroic deeds. The entire group reveals that they have been hiding for years to avoid being torn apart. Rhodonite is a combination of a ruby and a pearl, but we don't know all the six gems that make up fluorite.

More Interesting Facts About,

steven universe fusions weak to powerful...

His unwillingness to come out of hiding is forgivable given Homeworld's view on fusions being repugnant if they consist of two different gems. . Or more, in the case of Fluorite. But they also show loyalty to Lars when he helps them hide and avoid being torn apart. They refuse to return to Earth without him and jump at the opportunity to reside on a planet where they can be themselves without harassment or judgment. Next up is Steg, the fusion created by Steven and Greg. With four arms, a pompadour, and a nice pair of flutes, he was basically a manifestation of Steven and Greg's stage presence.

He has been shown to have floating powers and can grant that ability to those around him, which was quite unique to this specific team. He is greatly affected by emotions, but can also connect deeply with those around him, as shown with Pearl when she helps her regain her memory and leads her to merge with Amethyst. Stevonnie is next. Being another mix of human and gem, she has less power due to that human limitation. However, during her training with Pearl and her fights, she slowly reveals the abilities she has. She can use Steven's shield and possesses floating powers, although she does not seem to be able to transfer them to others like Steg does.

She is also very affected by emotions, which makes sense that Steven is a core member of this team and that is how her powers work. Her ability to wield a sword makes her a worthy opponent, and the added fact that she usually rides a massive lion helps add to her intimidation factor. Rubies, being all Gems, have an advantage over any human mixture. They don't have to worry about being killed unless their gems break. That makes them more eager to fight an opponent and willing to be more reckless. Unfortunately, most rubies have proven to be a bit slower to pick up almost anything, so it's easy to take advantage.
Rubies rely primarily on raw power, but with our main ruby we learn that they can also withstand extreme heat and have a natural bond with fire. In fact, it's Garnet's Ruby that gives her the ability to swim in lava without problems, so this fusion has some potential. Smoky quartz is next on our list. The first fusion of Steven and another Gem, this is his incarnation with Amethyst. They learn to use their weapons like a giant yo-yo that they can maneuver in various ways, from using it to swing from place to place to tying others up and becoming a long-distance weapon.
This is not a very stable team, as both Steven and Amethyst are incredibly self-aware and constantly worrying about how to help as best they can. She does learn super speed, but she doesn't use it to her full capacity so we can only state that Smoky is one of those who has a lot of potential but not much delivered to the public. Rainbow Quartz was originally Rose and Pearl, and they used fusion more for fun than for battle. In fact, when they show us this form, they're just using it to show off in front of Greg. The only reason she isn't ranked lower is because of who is training her.
Rose was originally Pink Diamond and can obviously maintain shapes other than the original for a long period of time, meaning the fuse could be one of the most stable. That, along with the fact that she is with Pearl, the gem who adored her, would mean they could use weapons more easily. It wouldn't have been the healthiest relationship, but it would have been impressive to see her on the battlefield. It only makes sense to place Rainbow Quartz 2.0 next. Now, because Steven didn't have the full power of Pink Diamond and only used this fusion to help with Onion, we didn't get to see the full capabilities of this Gem.
This team is ranked a little higher because Steven managed to use some imagination to push the merger even further. They learn to imitate many of Mary Poppins's movements, climbing staircase railings, using an umbrella for transportation and cleaning, and making toys and clothes sensitive enough that they can stand up themselves. If we saw them as more than just an on-screen babysitter, they could be much more intimidating. But they also mean that the form and all those powers can be difficult to maintain, and Steven quickly becomes exhausted. Topaz merged to form a larger Topaz, but it's worth mentioning.
Her ability is quite simple: being able to keep others inside her as if it were some kind of trap. We have to rank her a little higher despite only having that ability because of how problematic it was for the Gems. Her form was incredibly difficult to alter, even from the inside, and being around her is a claustrophobic's worst nightmare. Steven briefly took her down by expanding her bubble while he was trapped, but since he doesn't try that move again, we can only imagine how difficult it must have been the first time. Bluebird Azurite was the combination of Eyeball Ruby and Aquamarine.
They could have been considered much stronger, but the truth is that Ruby has too much enthusiasm for revenge and Aquamarine relies on manipulation instead of brute force. They were surely a threat, but they didn't use it enough during their time on screen, usually seen making pranks and simply trying to get Steven's guard down. Aquamarine lost her status as one of the most highly regarded gems in Blue Diamond's court and Eyeball had long held a grudge against Steven after being humiliated. Eyeball made a few appearances in addition to his initial team-up with the other Rubies, testifying at Steven's trial and being the one trapped in space with him.
Even after being cured by Steven, she still insisted on destroying him once she realized she had the Rose Gem. Garnet is seen as a perfect fusion, being an expression of love between Ruby and Sapphire. They were the first known fusion of two different Gems and fought for their right to be together. She has enormous amounts of physical strength, resistance to extreme heat and cold, the ability to remain submerged in deep water for long periods of time, and the ability to see the possibilities of the future. She was named leader after Rose gave up her form for her son and was the most level-headed of the group.
Everyone came to her for advice and guidance. She relies on Sapphire's calm temperament and forward-thinking, as well as Ruby's impulsiveness and strength to keep her team safe. Opal was the first gem fusion we were knowingly introduced to, being a combination of Amethyst and Pearl. He's not the most stable as the two personalities conflict a lot, but when they have a goal in mind, like saving Steven from a giant bird, they prove to be quite the powerhouse. Throughout the times we see her, we see her archery skills, her speed, and her physical strength, proving that she is a worthy adversary.
The way she flew through the air to carry Steven to safety before defeating the enemy was impressive. Steven and Garnet surprised us with a surprisingly upbeat Sunstone. The more you see her, the more you suspect that her true power is breaking the fourth wall. She is concerned about safety and uses her optimistic attitude to get people to sit down and listen to lectures and videos. She is one of the strongest, pushing the foot of the linked Diamond ships with ease before climbing up with shields turned suction cups. Since we have limited interactions with her, we can only guess what other abilities Sunstone might have based on Garnet and Steven's other fusions.
Pearls, like Rubies, have a more refined personality, emphasizing each Pearl. She presents herself as a lifelike figure, using her treadmill as exercise and her ballerina figure as a way to quickly maneuver through danger. She doesn't have fire breath, but their combined determination to protect Steven and the others proved they can put up a fight worth remembering. They were able to stay together for a while because the two were connected through Pink Diamond. One put her on a pedestal and the other was deeply hurt by Pink's actions. But together they were able to see the bigger picture and take a step to move forward.
Live, we have Sardonyx next! We see quite a bit of her during one episode in particular, in which Garnet and Pearl had to fuse several times to eliminate the communication center. She has a fun sense of humor and incorporates some fun wizard-like moves, which explains much of Rainbow 2.0's behavior. She joins her gem weapons together to create a great hammer and drill combination. She is precise and a strange mix of arrogant and humble. She reappears after Smoky is introduced to the team, as she is too excited to see all of Smoky's abilities. It may be an unstable fusion, but we have to give the next spot to Sugilite.
When Amethyst and Garnet joined together, they got carried away with how

powerful

they were. She was a force of destruction and chaos who only showed some sanity after Garnet discovered that Pearl had lied to her and that her only goal was to destroy the center in her rage. Without a doubt, a force of nature that you won't want to face unless you have as good an aim as Pearl. Malachite, although a villain, was a force strong enough to need our three most well-known gems to confront it. The creation of Malachite itself was terrifying, with Jasper begging Lapis to join her in destroying the Crystal Gems.
Between Lapis and her control of all things water and Jasper's determination to eliminate any rival, they could have been unstoppable if they had a shared goal in mind. Fortunately that was not the case and this merger was eliminated. The bronze medal of the most

powerful

is the Alexandrite, the union of the forces of Garnet, Pearl and Amethyst. With a powerful punch and fiery breath, he incorporates all the skills learned from the other fusions. She can shoot arrows, deflect attacks, twist her upper body, and use her bad attitude to her advantage. She loses some points by coming across as unstable in previous episodes, the three of them conflict too much when they're not in the heat of battle, but that's forgivable.
It should come as no surprise to anyone that Obsidian emerged as one of the strongest fusions. A combination of Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst and Steven, she was the form they usually took on in White Diamond. She's not seen for a long time, but making a sword out of lava collected in one of your mouths? That's not only impressive; It's just amazing to see! Her large number of arms makes it easy for her to climb and fight all at once while also grabbing innocent bystanders. She may not have defeated White Diamond, but she did pretty well considering it was her first fight.
So who emerges victorious? Who takes the gold medal for the strongest fusion? This may surprise some, but we have to list Steven Universe himself since he's technically a fusion between Pink Diamond and Greg. After assuming the form of Rose Quartz, she gave up her form to help create Steven with her human lover. When Steven's gem is removed, he takes the form of a pink version of himself before merging back into him. And because of this, Steven has impressive power. Super speed, shapeshifting, connecting with and healing others, controlling plants and making them sentient, dominating the Diamonds by turning his own abilities against them, summoning their shields and bubbles, and the ability to fuse with other humans as he is partially organic .
Not only does Fusion have more tricks up its sleeve, but her relationship between his forms is more stable than Garnet's. But what do you think? Let us know in the comments section below.
