Everyday pocket toolkit.

Apr 07, 2024
Hi, I just wanted to show the load for an

everyday

can, this is not a survival can, this is basically for things you find when you're out and about, so, this can, I started with this can that I have. this can on Sur survival resources.com uh it's a little bit bigger than an Altoids can, it's not hinged like an Altoids can so it's the right side for the type of tools I'm trying to put in it. I took the can that I have and lined it with a felt or a felt covered in velvet and it makes it less noisy.

When you're wearing these things, you don't want them to make noise every time you walk, so this liner and this one is good to make that less noise. noisy I also put some tape in here, you can put stickers, whatever I put in here because what I had was sticky, um, but it says this can is nothing else, it's mine and it's for tools. Anyway, you have to do it so you can put this back, all of these things, they come together in a very specific order because it's hard to put all of these things in here, so first I'll show you how I'm doing it.

More Interesting Facts About,

everyday pocket toolkit...

Starting with the first things I have to get into and they are these two bits that I call micro screwdrivers because there really isn't a handle for these things and you don't need a handle because the kind of torque you need to have to put these things on is so low. which this is enough here, so this is basically four bits, micro bits that came in a different kit that I was no longer using, so what I did was I tapped them, you know, joined them together and ran a piece of tape aluminum around this to make it a little stiff and then I ran a shrink tube over that and Mak makes it pretty stiff so this right here is the uh. flat screw so this is a small screwdriver and this is a thinner or smaller one and this one here is triple lot and this one is double lot Phillips um so this will take care of most of your small screw needs , like screws uh sunglasses uh other kinds of things like that and you want to stick them here in this gap because you can see here on the box that is stamped there is a little gap there and you need that authorization um the next thing I have is a lever uh not anymore can you get this I'm so sorry uh I thought you could it was a really good idea uh a lot of companies copied these things and just stopped making them suddenly I have three of these so they're dedicated to these types of kits anyway it's a lever and it's a little bit sharp, you know, thin on this Edge, so you can get into places and then pry.

I can't tell you how many times I've used this to get into stubborn boxes that warp or whatever. It's quite useful. This is for your standard quarter inch bits. You can use it to refill quarter inch bits and in fact you can use it on nuts to grab a nut or the end of a bowl uh anyway I pretty use pretty handy little tool um I put it in there and it does it almost um so because I use most of my

problems that happen to my granddaughters when I'm with them and I like to be prepared for these types of things and that's what a lot of these things are, some of them aren't, but a lot of them are band-aids, this it's for when they have little boos and uh and It's really helpful to have something like this hanging out there and it just goes here and cools down.

The next thing you put in here are these quarter inch pieces that you can see here, they're just standard quarter inch pieces that I'll take out. a standard quarter inch bit and uh you have three slotted and the typical four or four Phillips and then some Torx Torx. I think I use a T20 more than anything else anyway, when you put this on, you want to put this on. so this side faces the edge because that over there has to do with the curve of the box and therefore allows a little more clearance and then this is the holder for the quarter inch bits, this will give you allows you to place it. here and you use it like a screwdriver and you use this side and you use it a little bit like a quick wrench so you can get most of your uh you don't get a you don't have a ratchet, but you can cover most of your needs with just this tool really cheap that goes there and now I have the Letherman tool and there are a lot of little tools on the Leatherman micro, but the only tool I need and you'll see. see why uh later um most of the other tools here like a knife tweezers um things like that uh I don't need to use them uh because I have better ones there um but this is pretty good uh scissors uh so I have It's just for the scissors, plus I already had this thing and that goes here.
Next is the Knipex pliers wrench and you see that it opens to a pretty good sized jaw. This works like a wrench. You see that the jaws are parallel. uh, like a wrench, uh, this is a lot easier to adjust and the nice thing is that even if you get it, if you're just close, fix it down and you'll close it more, so this works, it's a lot faster to implement, uh. open end wrench, so when you put this in, you want to make sure you put this curvy thing against this curvy box curve, so you're using the curve of the box and the curve of the tool to fit together.
Better, these are the kpx Raptors, so this is more for grabbing round things, like the usual water pump pliers, and you can grab maybe a nut with them too because these things have the notch here for the nuts, um , but the Raptor is an undisputed leader in slip joint pliers, water pump pliers, this is simply a better tool than most water pump pliers and this is the micro size of the micro size of these things, both this one like the The pliers and wrench come with bare handles and what I did was put some shrink tubing around this and heat shrink it, so you have some nice or good enough handles, which fit here again, the curve that goes against that side of the box to save space.
This is a nail clipper and again, granddaughters need nail clippers and my wife sometimes needs one when it breaks. Nails somewhere I have one on hand so she can take care of it. This is a nice Skookum that I don't use. the ones you get at drugstores because they fall apart, they're irritating, and sometimes if you have something you really have to cut, they don't, these things will cut anything and the drugstore ones don't necessarily cut everything. anything that fits tight and tight, oh man, well I forgot, I forgot this thing and I'm going to put it on top for you to show so I can show you that it fits.
This is a frl lens. This is mainly for Me because I have old man eyes and this allows you to see things you wouldn't otherwise be able to see, but I was wondering why I had so much space there, no, what I have now, the last tool I have. it's a pair of tweezers with a pointed tip, they're great for dividers and again, that's probably the most common use for tweezers, but if you're using pieces, use this side and you can lift it up. I know this, so this is a pretty versatile set of tweezers, but mostly optimized for splinters, and since this is a sharp tip and you want to preserve that tip, you want to use the little rubber tip that comes with it to preserve it. . and then I'm going to go ahead and, oh One S, another thing, this is like a little binder clip, it's a little more whimsical than a CU binding binder clip, it's got a little, it's a little man, um, so if you want to put a sign on a table or something, you could do this, yeah, Advent survival kits, or you can.
I use it on vacation with my wife she hates the little crack in the curtains that don't always close so this just put this in there and it will darken it otherwise it wouldn't be and let's go ahead and put that in there and finally this will fit honestly, it will be and now that I think about it it's not a bad idea to have it. this way because it makes it even less noisy and pretty good, so one thing, you see, I have a rubber band here, the thing is this thing is not going to open on its own, it closes pretty securely, but if you drop this thing, it will open up and there will be great contents everywhere and you will probably lose some pieces.
That's why I use a ranger sash that you can use instead of a ranger sash. You can use the uh, big blue rubber bands they use to secure celery or asparagus at the supermarket. I like Ranger bands because they don't wear out, they don't all stretch out and they can't be used anymore. So that's the contents of this thing and, uh, you'll notice I didn't talk about a knife, this is kind of irritating, there's a knife in there, it's in a Letherman Micra, um, but getting the Leatherman Micra out of this thing and take it out. unfolded is a little more irritating than just having a damn Fastback in Milwaukee Fastback, this for an everyday carry, something with sharp edges is one of the best things you can have and that's because you know it has a normal blade, um, it's got a little stripper here uh it's got spare blades here um and it's also when you close this it's got what you could call a seat belt cutting tool.
I guess if you say if you're stuck in a car and you can't get out, this will cut the seat belt for that's it and that's all this is just a really reversible knife and again quick to quick to deploy quick to put away and clip

pocket

and everything, so that's the EDC uh thanks
