My name is Troy Albright. In fact, I am a licensed pharmacist and I have consulted on My patients I realize that it starts with the foods that they are putting into their bodies.

Troy is a licensed pharmacist by profession. He went through school in the very modern medical way of doing things and he went through the process of having his own children with his own. mistakes and conditions and also being overweight, it changed the way I approached food and what I put in his body and it changed everything for him in his family. My parents and grandparents were farmers in Minnesota and we had black people, well, they're here in Arizona. The

soil

is like red clay, so if you don't amend it and really work that

soil

, you're not going to get a lot of good quality products.

So when I saw the tower garden I can control the environment. I control the

water

. I control the nutrients. I love this. I can control every aspect of growing my own food. So how does this whole process work? Basically, the first step is to put whatever you want in the core of the coconut. This growing medium is coconut fiber. Actually, it is a certificate. organic growing medium and it's a byproduct of the coconut husk and you throw it in, you put the seeds in there and then once they're 1 to 2 inches tall, like that, we can come here and just plant them here, they fit perfectly.

In the capsule you drop it in, the bomb turns on every 3 to 15 minutes. While in the program, you pump the

water

and nutrient solution to the top and then, using the long view of physics, what goes up comes down. true, and it just rains, there is a shower cap that rains and reaches all these places. What I find interesting is that you only need that much land like you and fish only miles and miles of land and land to grow plants, right, you only need that, okay? Yeah, very each different plant that you're drawing, no, just that small amount, it's actually not even soil, it's coconut shell.

If we used soil, we would have many more insects, we would have to use pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. I choose no. to use any of those here Organic is what is clean, yeah, just food, yeah, do you think that's really happening today? By the way, vegetables that are normally transported into your state by law, even if they are organic, are sprayed with pesticides, so that's not the case. Ideally, the problem is that our soils are depleted there. The FDA has many studies that show that when those leafy greens are cut and travel an average of 1,200 to 1,500 miles to get to your plate, yes, there are pesticides, 50 percent

less

nutrients that they've lost. at 50 percent in some cases there is almost no nutritional value here look at some of this basil, let's take some beautiful basil, take this out, look at those beautiful roots there, I mean look at that, that's crazy, it's 21 days old, yeah , vegetables. that we saw in the real garden they were simply growing right there there was no soil there was a minimum of water in reality it was just their roots hanging in these hollow tubes saturated with nutrients and substances and growing until they became the most beautiful vegetables if we take one out here it's like a beautiful bouquet, let's get one out of here so you can see, I mean the Ritz and you have these beautiful and rich ones, I know my bouquets will be for my wedding, oh my God, it's so stop, yeah, isn't it something something a time you try one?
Some of that vegetable has a much more vibrant, bolder, fuller flavor than I think most of us have experienced, I feel like it tastes different than what I'm used to. I feel like most romaine lettuce tastes so watery right when summer is over, this is even better Peter, I feel like I've never tried romaine lettuce, it was this sweet, it's stronger, it's more unique from one vegetable to another. another because you don't get that earthy flavor that comes largely from growing the fruit or vegetables in this coconut. peel and feed it with these nutrients without soil, it is incredible.
I don't know how I haven't eaten so fresh before and I feel like everyone must like it. I buy expensive spinach at the store. I'm all organic. I have a paycheck at Whole Foods, it happens, but it doesn't taste like that when they grow most spinach in sand, so a lot of times when you chew spinach, it's like a grain, yeah, that's the sand they grow them in. they grow, so I always want to rinse it well and get rid of it. Whatever the craziest thing I tried was stevia leaf. Try just a piece of this.
It's okay, just a very small amount. What is it? It is a natural vegetable sweetener. I just want to eat this like it's a dessert after dinner and then I'll never eat ice cream again look, I mean, that's so sweet, right? Yes, I have eaten stevia powder but never a stevia leaf. Oh, that's Stephen, this is the actual stevia plant here. Wow, are you going to use? in so many things and it is so powerful. I also tried a mint chocolate herb and it tasted just like mint chocolate so once we have a sprout we put it in the tower 26 days later do you have that thing?
So this was all 26 days, yeah, it's nice, so what happens is you get accelerated growth because the roots can get a lot of oxygen since there's no soil, there's no weeds, which is amazing because pulling weeds is literally the Worst weekend activity ever in vertical

farming

, it's just your head of lettuce or your kale, spinach, berries or tomatoes, no money, no weeds, what's the real benefit of having a vertical farm in compared to having a normal farm that used a large part? With the vertical farm we are really saving space. We can use ninety percent

less

land, but we can grow ninety percent more food when you go to Brook like this, this is a tenth of an acre.
We can grow 10 times more food as a result of going vertical, plus we use 90 to 98 percent less of our resources. water which is huge, I mean 3 percent of the water in the world is fresh water so it's not just a commodity here in the United States but all over the world there is fresh water so we really need to conserve our resources and if we don't. If we are preparing for a major catastrophe, how many people do you think you could feed? From this space, from this space we could easily accelerate 100 families weekly. Wow, as we all know, our world is changing. the land available to us is changing the quality of the soil we have on our land is changing and this may be the most sustainable way to feed our communities in the future.
If someone watches this video and would like to start gardening tomorrow or today, what would be their best option? three tips grow the things you love to eat keep it simple use clean water use good quality seedlings we have residential models and commercial farms, so the residential model is about five or six feet tall, like you and when the two towers could power easily a family of four, depends on what you are growing, you will be exposed to less chemicals, you will love it, you will really love it. I was skeptical, I absolutely thought that the biology of this food must be different if we are not making it with soil and the same amount of water and the same amount of sunlight that vegetables and fruits were used to, but the fact is that it is better, It has more nutrients, more minerals, it is more dense in rich vitamins. that your body needs and it's more environmentally friendly, you know, as a compounding pharmacist, I do consultations and then I got into this because I really saw not only my own children but my own patients who were passed through high the food part, they lacked that nutrition part. and as I corrected the nutrition on them, I said, oh God, this changed their whole life.
They taught you in pharmacy school just give him a medicine, give him a medicine, give him a medicine, medicines are just band-aids, they don't cure us otherwise. We don't have good nutrition, that foundation that we're building our body on doesn't exist and that leads to all kinds of things, you know, depression, leaky gut, gum disease, people constantly having headaches and not growing. properly. kids don't grow properly because of nutrition so start with a good foundation, if you have a good foundation with nutrition eat what you grow or buy it locally you will be much healthier it's crazy how your diet can affect almost everything what is it.
It's hard to express in one sentence how cool and interesting I thought this whole experience was. I have always been a firm believer in what you put in your body and the food you put in your body matters and we are allowing the food industries to spray it. with pesticides to transport it very far change its enzymes and nutritional benefits so that when we receive the food it is not even giving us the fuel we need to survive in a healthy way the body is an incredible piece of machinery that you put the things in it right they take the things out good, you put the bad things in time, the bad things would come out but you can't correct them, it just requires a little effort on our part to do the right thing, who said Hippocrates you are what you eat, but food? be medicine what medicine be food, he said much more eloquently, but you know, I firmly believe that the real Garden was possibly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen, it was pristine, it was green, it was not fake green, it was not sprayed on green, it was beautiful vibrant green and the oxygen in that greenhouse.
I would like to one day live in a greenhouse with that pure oxygen. I am very
