really worth the extra money? Well, let's go ahead and take a closer look when it arrives. As for the overall design, the xm5 charging case has a slightly different structure than the previous wf-1000xm4, the top is more rounded which I think gives them a

better

hand feel, but we still have this bottom flat, while the airpods pro are obviously completely round, which I think feels a little

better

to hold overall, although it's not a big deal.

The airpods pro case is also a little bit thinner if you can see it here with that focus, they're just a little bit thinner. smaller but overall a very similar size in terms of the earbuds, the xm5 have a new updated design that is actually 25 smaller and 20 lighter which is a big improvement for me because i can't use bulky earbuds, They just don't do it. They fit well in my ears and look a little funky because my ears are very small. This is something I really love about the airpods pro because they stick out more vertically rather than horizontally so they don't feel like they stick out much. my ears and I'm going to go ahead and put the headphones on so you can see what I'm talking about on the airpods pro the xm5 as you can see the xm5 sticks out a little more than the airpods pro and with my Ears I think the Airpods Pro looked a little better for that.

I want to mention that the tips on these are super unique and almost have that memory foam feel that conforms to the shape of your ear and I think. This is pretty cool of course, they also have additional ear tip sizes to give you the best fit possible, just like the airpods pro, and I don't necessarily like the memory foam tips any better than these silicone tips we have on the airpods Pro. but it's great to have something a little different now in terms of battery life - the xm5 has eight hours of playback on the earbuds with an additional 16 hours in the charging case and the airpods pro has six hours of listening time on the earbuds and charging case give us an extra 24 hours of listening time, meaning the xm5 actually has two more hours in the earbuds and the airpods pro has 8 more hours in the charging case.

I think I would prefer to have better battery life in the earbuds, so I think the xm5 wins in the battery category, although the airpods pro have quite a bit more battery life in the actual charging case, they both have fast charging features and with the xm5 just three minutes of charging gives us an additional hour of listening time and with the airpods pro we get that same hour of listening time with five minutes of charging, which is still really good. Both also have wireless charging, but keep in mind. that the airpods pro will actually charge with your magsafe wireless chargers and also your apple watch chargers, although these are obviously not on apple products so the xm5 will only work with regular wireless chargers, let's go ahead and talk about the sound quality because both of these headphones sound great after listening to tons of different genres and comparing them super consistently.

Here's what I learned: the airpods pro have a little more powerful bass and the vocals are more pronounced than with the xm5, the instruments are more pronounced and the base is a little softer, they both sound great and it's hard to choose one over the other, but if I had to choose one, I'd probably end up choosing the airpods pro just because I love that powerful bass, now I'm not an audio. file, so I don't know much about sound and all the mechanisms that produce it, but if I had to choose, I would probably choose the airpods pro.

The nice thing about the xm5 is that you can use the Sony headphones app which allows you to slightly change the audio to your personal preference with the equalizer settings. The airpods Pro 2 also have a couple of tuning settings, but they're not as specific as the xm5. You can see here that we can switch between different. presets and you can also customize your own equalizer with the xm5 when it comes to noise cancellation, both headphones are absolutely stunning. I don't have much to say here about the noise cancellation because they both do a great job and the noise cancellation on these is very similar, but I think the xm5 removes just a soft image, more of that background noise;

However, the transparency mode with the airpods pro sounds much more natural, so I would say that the airpods pro definitely wins with the transparency mode. If you are not familiar with transparency mode, it will allow you to hear your surroundings. For example, if you are running and have transparency mode activated, you will be able to hear your surroundings and the different cars around you. They don't hit you or, if you're at the gym, you can still chat with people while your headphones are still in your ears, the xm5 still has a good transparency mode, but you can tell it's a little more muffled than with the Airpods Pro They just sound so natural, let's dive into the features as both earbuds are packed with technology, as we just talked about we have all the normal stuff like transparency mode and noise cancellation but we also have spatial audio. or 360 degree audio as it is called on the xm5, this feature makes the audio sound like it is playing around you, hence the name 360 ​​degree audio, but do you remember that you can only use this feature with audio that supports it and is it not very common yet?

It's still fun to play with both of these earbuds that also have tracking capabilities so with the airpods pro if you have an iPhone you'll be able to use the Find My app to track the earbuds and with the xm5 if you have an Android then. initially you can configure them to have that tracking option. I love being able to track them because if you ever lose them, you can rest assured that you will most likely be able to find them again. Another thing they have is automatic. Ear detection that will automatically pause your music when you take off your headphones and then resume your music once you put them back on.

This is super nice if for some reason you take off one of your earbuds and then later put it back in and your music will resume where you left off. Something you don't always think about with headphones is how good the microphone quality is. You can use both the Airpods Pro and the xm5 for calls and of course I have an audio test for you too so we'll go ahead and play that.
