BENNY - Opening Day Georgia Bow Buck

Benny showed up, you know, I've been trying to connect the dots and figure out where this deer came from. Find out what it was last year. Don't know. I think it was July 12. He had a chamber at a mineral site. he was taking pictures of, you know, five or six dollars, nothing crazy, on July 12th, this Buck moved in, you know, I took a picture of them from different angles. I could see that mass. I was able to see some of the interesting things that were happening. and you know the deer really caught my interest over the others and that's when I said hey this could be the deer you know I'm hunting this year we have soybeans planted they're fenced the deer can't get in. on them yet, but I'm just thinking, you know, if we can, if this deer is going to hang around long enough and be in this area when we take down this fence and let them get into the beans, you know, I'm going to have a really good chance. from taking out this Buck Benny and three or four other good

s are using this field every afternoon, there's a house probably 400 yards from the bean field and you know, I've gotten up on the roof in the past, I can get it. very far away from them with the right wind and I can film and watch, try to see where these deer are coming from and what they're doing, and trail cameras are great, but you know when you can see the deer do what they do. do it and watch them work in a field like that, you know, you can really, you know, try to score one on Thursday before the season went up to the roof, 20 does are in the field as soon as they start coming in the field Benny is out there 6 30 and a half hours before dark, he arrives directly at the end of the field, which is like in no man's land, you know, younger things, bedding, there's not really a way to hunt him on the way to the beans I have I have to find a way to hunt this deer once it's there or it's gone, and I probably have two or three sets in this bean field after seeing it in person, you know, I realized that's going to come down to one.

You know, from all directions, both deer are fleeing, you know, I'm thinking, Dad, bubblegum, this is how this hunt will end. I'm, I'm sitting here, they fight about all the things in September and you know, these bucks are Gone, I heard them in the woods, they're fighting all the time, um and then mini-pops appear behind me, there's a clover plot with a little window that I can see and Benny is at the tree line and he's playing with a scrape. I see him, you know, through this cedar, I can make out the shelf of him until it's him and he's heading towards this persimmon tree and I felt in that moment that you know this thing could be meant to be. because the only way to get back to the beans from there is through a road that we've cut up to This Tall Grass, you know, to give these deer a way to get into the field in bow range, my faith and the hunt, You know, they are very closely related. together and many of them are not easy.
