There are two things you don't know about Earth, one is me and the other is Godzilla

directed by Ru kitamura. We have reached the last Godzilla film of the Millennium era and, for all intents and purposes, the last. from what I consider to be, quote-unquote, old Godzilla movies where the adaptation or a guy in a suit is the primary vehicle in which the monster is portrayed, maybe 100 years from now they'll classify Godzilla movies in the adaptation era and the post-adaptation era simply bundling the showa J and Millennium era all together after Godzilla Tokyo SOS also has a lackluster performance.

Producer Shogo Toyama had to make a difficult decision, there was always the option of not making another film, the last two films, the poor performances would normally indicate that it was time to put Godzilla on. mothballs again, but with the monster star's 50th anniversary approaching, Godzilla couldn't stay silent, Masaki Tzuka and his Kiru Saga wouldn't get an extension and we'd see Tomiyama bring in some sort of outsider to direct this next movie, ruh kitamura would do it. He accepted Toyama's offer to sit in the director's chair for what was being built as a kind of celebration rather than just a film.

the history of godzilla final wars 2004...

The relatively young Kitamura rose to fame after directing the 2000s versus a wild movie involving zombies and samurai as a Japanese filmmaker everyone loves. Do it in some way too and Tomy Amasan gave me the opportunity to do it. This young Japanese director who had only made one studio film, they were taking Taking Chances and they brought me on board. Ketura may not have been involved in any Godzilla films in his career, but he was a lifelong fan. He was 5 years old when he first saw 1974's Godzilla versus Mecha Godzilla and that's what got him hooked on the rest of the Showa-era films that preceded it.
the history of godzilla final wars 2004
He wasn't a fan of the Jay era, but he was a fan of the Godzilla movies. In the 70s they were never just monster movies, there were always messages and themes that reflected the time and world in which they were made and they combined this so well with straight entertainment that they lost that touch in the 80s, now for the most part no one would do it. Let's say this would be the last Godzilla movie like they did in 1995 for Godzilla vs. Destroyer, no one would fall for that again, but Tomy AMA would say that God Zilla would at least retire for a decade or more after this movie we've all made .

We can show Godzilla, including using computer graphics technology, and we still haven't attracted any new fans, so we'll make the 50th anniversary movie something special, the best of the best, and then we'll be done with it. For now, Kitamura's hiring was considered a rare occurrence abroad. the box move was made by what some considered the most conservative film studio in Japan, trying to make this movie as great as possible. Tojo gave it a global feel with filming in New York City and Sydney, Australia. The largest budget yet for a Japanese Godzilla film was also scrapped. In this $20 million Masaki Tzuka project, the director of the last two Godzilla films would openly say how jealous he was that he didn't get that kind of flexibility.
Toho was actually being generous and flexible here, but they wouldn't let the incoming director do it. Whatever he wanted, Tomiyama would reject almost all of K Tomura's early ideas with him and Watu. Mima wrote the first draft. Kitamura, for his part, wanted something that would appeal to more general audiences, not just the hardcore kids and Godzilla, so why would anyone want to go see? a Godzilla movie if shown alongside a cartoon mouse, look dude, tomiyama and mim's scheme used a similar Alien Invasion plot. AST monster Allah's Invasion and Destroy All Monsters in the scheme would use eight monsters.
Kitamura chimed in enthusiastically at that. They would look for a record for most monsters in a film to decide which monsters from Tomiyama Kitamura's extensive library should be in the film and returning special effects director Aichi Assada would take the Godzilla toys out of a box and begin to place them. the board decided which monsters they wanted to showcase in this ambitious project, and it took hours for three grown men to play with Godzilla toys until the right combination was found. ASA and Kitamura would work well together as Assid was a fan of the Kora films and Kit Tomura's favorite Godzilla. movie Godzilla versus Mecha Godzilla assada had been a part of honestly bringing Assa back was the smartest thing tomiyama did for this movie as he had just provided some of the best Godzilla special effects work we've ever seen in Tokyo SOS now we would see what this guy could do with a bigger budget we stick to practical effects that's what we've been doing for 50 years and that's why Hollywood doesn't do it so at the first meeting I told everyone to stick to it to special effects and live action instead of CGI, making it a CGI monster.
Hollywood Godzilla versus our live-action man-made monsters. The production team would finish filming in September and normally Godzilla movies had premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival, however, this time Godzilla Final Wars. The world premiere would take place in the United States and will be presented at the Chinese Theater in Los Angeles on November 29,

2004

, prior to the film's release. Godzilla would have the honor of adding his own star to the Hollywood Walk theme, it's time to reveal a star in Hollywood. Godzilla themed ride, please welcome our guest of honor Godzilla, bring the photographers, bring the photographers here.
Godzilla should thank you for this historic and monumental star, but unfortunately he can't speak English as much as I can. This year's Godzilla Final Wars is the last Godzilla movie, but As long as Godzilla continues to fascinate people, I think new generations of filmmakers will resurrect him in the future, thank you, thank you very much, there was also a fun little link to Godzilla in 2004's Metal Gear Solid 3, Snake Eater, hey, snake. Have you ever heard of Godzilla, the king of the monsters? No, what is it? It's a movie you haven't seen. No, it's about this monster called Godzilla who grows to enormous size at a nuclear test and goes on a rampage at the Tokyo nuclear test, huh?
Then the Marshall. The islands must be crawling with giant monsters right now, it's just a fantasy, maybe that's why my pants have been so tight lately. Snake, it's a movie, not a Los Al report. I know, so what happened? Godzilla is immune to all weapons and humanity has no way to stop the monster dr. Sir Zawa develops a new type of weapon but in the meantime Godzilla gets closer and closer to Tokyo destroying everything in his path. Originally it was a Japanese movie but they also made an American version. I recommend watching the Japanese original. If you ever get the chance, it's mainly a mindless fun, but it also has a serious anti-nuclear message.
Where can I see the original? You'll have to go to Japan, really, that's a shame, well, if you wait 40 years, you might as well see it in America. Why will 2004 be Godzilla's 50th birthday? You think they're still going to make Godzilla movies. So of course everyone loves Godzilla, although Final Wars isn't mentioned in that clip. The paramedic does mention that the original. Godzilla can be seen in 2004, what I was referring to is that the uncut Japanese original with English subtitles was released in 2004 in US theaters for a limited time to celebrate the 50th birthday of the man who, in my opinion, he created the best Godzilla posters during the H. era Noroshi Orai would return to create the Godzilla posters for Godzilla

kitam Mora's vision for this film was based on his love for the more light-hearted and whimsical Godzilla films as a fan. from Godzilla I want to see Godzilla punching and kicking all the other monsters instead of someone talking again, that's what I wanted to do is revive it, but not in the same way I have to update.
This is the updated version of the crazy monster movies of the 60s and 7s, well let's start this madness with the movie. begins with the old overreaching logo that appears on all Toho widescreen films from 1960 to 1964 in a healthy touch text that appears informing us that the film is in honor of Tom Yuki Tanaka, Ishiro Honda and Subara, the founding fathers of Godzilla, so to speak. and a nice artwork of Godzilla is shown and as we walk through a tundra of destroyed tanks and simpler tanks, the music changes to a more modern sound as we see the big guy's silhouette come into focus; of course, Godzilla shows up. in his 28th film, but he once again sports a new look and it was Shinichi Waka's idea to make this Godzilla combine many of the characteristics of the previous incarnations.
It has traditional charcoal gray skin and smaller bone-white dorsal fins. This Godzilla too. He has a long neck reminiscent of the Showa Aid days The ears are larger and more noticeable and Godzilla's face looks like a cat or even a mouse The body and overall structure of the monster were thin Waza would use a special material called foam latex to make a suit lighter than usual, this of course made the life of the Godzilla suit actor for Tomo Kagawa much easier. This would be the last time he would play Godzilla. He didn't play Godzilla in all of the Millennium era films, but he is best known as the Godzilla of this era and again for all intents and purposes, he is essentially the last Godzilla suit actor in a film, not counting capture actors. of motion used in modern films, but who knows, maybe one day we'll see the Mas suit used again for a Godzilla movie, but As I make this video, Kagawa is the last of the three main Godzilla suit actors we've become known throughout the

history

of these films, the Godzilla Kagawa portrayed here has once again been 100 meters tall just like Heara's films, this Godzilla is the first.
The Godzilla generation from this film's continuity awoke in 1954 and seeks revenge on humanity, although it was awakened during 1954. This film is not considered to share continuity with the first Godzilla film, making this film completely independent. In nature. This Godzilla has all the usual abilities. except he is a little more powerful relative to his opponents and a little more agile as we would see that the atomic breath is extremely powerful and the mouth of this suit would light up as waza had lights installed so the ray effect atomic is not completely computer generated in this first scene Godzilla is fighting in Antarctica with behold my floating masterpiece, the egg carrier, yes, the goena always reminded me of the egg carrier from Sonic Adventure, behold my floating Mash, peace, the egg bearer, ah, the Gango makes his triumphant return to the big screen appearing originally. in the 1963 film Atrion, where he takes on the Sea Dragon Manda, here the ship is piloted by well, the character doesn't really have a name under his belt, but this first captain of the Gango is played by a familiar face, Akira NAA , this would be the actor's six Godzilla films and as I make this video they are the last, although he is still an active actor in other projects today, he was also in the final film of the hyay era and now in the Millennium era, in addition Joining him in this scene is koi Eda Eda.
I haven't mentioned it yet because their characters don't have much significance in the stories, however, something impressive about waa is that this was his 12th consecutive Godzilla movie, since Godzilla versus biolante, this would be his last Godzilla movie and Also the Gango apparently seems screwed when the Earth itself starts swallowing Godzilla, the Earth just opens up and swallows them. Creepy, really creepy, lucky for them an earthquake happened, maybe this should have been the Godzilla prequel in hell, the captain has Gango trapped. Godzilla in a frozen tomb similar to how the monster was trapped in Godzilla Raids Again, so Godzilla is apparently defeated.
The victory is celebrated and the movie ends and of course, I'm joking, I'm joking, but as some critics would point out, maybe that should have been the end. Taking into account everything that comes after this point, let's just say that Godzilla fans are not on board with this movie from what I've gathered on different review forums and otherwise this is still a movie that a considerable portion of Godzilla fans think it's amazing. or downright awful, there doesn't seem to be much in between, that being said we then get a narrated bit that builds the world a bit for us and explains that Godzilla may have been theworst monster the Earth had to deal with, but due to pollution from wars and other man-made calamities there were also countless other monsters Awakening across the world for humanity to unite to form the Earth Defense Force.
Land. The EDF first appeared in the 1957 film. Famous Mysterians singer Koi Yamadera narrates this part, but most importantly, Yamadera is the voice actor. From the most important anime character of the last 10 years we present to the mutants a new race of humans with superpowers who are being used to help defend the Earth from the various monsters but more specifically from the possible Return of the King of the monsters. I could be wrong and I'm sure everyone can be honest here, but I believe this is the first Japanese Godzilla movie to refer to him as the king of the monsters.
The music they use for this part is downright strange and doesn't fit Godzilla at all. He reminded me of something that would play at the end of a documentary you'd be forced to watch at school. I saw a review called made for television and I think that's a pretty accurate description for that song and the rest of the music as well. in the movie it would be great and also they wouldn't use that horrible song again anyway, the soundtrack of the movie was composed by Keith Emerson, noiko Morino and dauk Yano Yan, the song titled the king of monsters is that intense music that begins to play in that a scene from T Artica Keith Emerson, for his part, is the first Western composer to create a score for a Godzilla film also made.
Ketura would say that the band Emerson Lake and Palmer is the biggest influence on his life. It should be noted that, tragically, in 2016, Emerson would commit suicide due to his battle with depression, although he may be gone. Godzilla fans, of course, will always remember the soundtrack he created for this 50th anniversary farewell. We finally get the actual opening credits of the movie with flashbacks. Of almost all the Godzilla movies that play in the background, I feel like there are three or four introductions to this movie before it really starts, some would believe for a while that the Godzilla in this movie was actually the Godzilla junr from Godzilla versus destroya which appears complete.
In the end, what fueled that theory was that both monsters are 100 meters in size and the montage in the opening credits ends in that final shot of Godzilla Jr roaring and then cutting to Godzilla in this movie trapped in the ice. As Nice, an idea that may just not be true, this Godzilla is his, however I saw somewhere that Toyama considered this idea before Kitamura took things in a completely different direction. The song that plays in the opening credits was made by Morino despite its Japanese origin. The film has a Western feel, even the design of these credits has Hollywood written all over it.
American designer Kyle Cooper, known for his title sequences in American films, was hired to create this; He would later do the opening credits sequences for Godzilla and 2014's Godzilla. King of the Monsters in 2019 Kitamura had a connection with Hideo Kojima from the Metal Gear Solid series while they worked together on Metal Gear Solid the twin Snakes and it was Kojima who put him in in contact with Cooper now I'm imagining a Godzilla movie made by Kojima I can see it now Norman Reed is piloting mecha Godzilla to fight a Godzilla that doesn't even exist due to a black hole hallucination and you can probably fill in the rest, I probably would that what he did in 2016 seemed normal. cut to a more futuristic version of the Gango now fighting underwater near Normandy with Manda a more direct tribute to Atron here in Atron Monda was the guardian of an underwater empire here his origins are unknown, but Shinji Nishikawa made sure to design Manda to make it look more like the original and look a bit like Shenron from Dragon Ball, they would create a 6M long prop and the monster would also be shown using CG, unfortunately for poor Manda, he will face the second most dangerous entity in Earth, the fierce Captain Douglas Gordon, played by UFC Hall of Famer Don the Predator Fry and let me tell you, this guy's voice is like having a conversation with a chainsaw like it's so intense that your first fight was not the first in UFC if fr is ridiculously exaggerated, you know that Captain Gordon is by So far, the most entertaining and memorable human character in this film, Fry, was by no means a trained actor and it is painfully obvious, at times I went in there overconfident and I was pretty much the weak link in the movie.
I thought I could get in. there and being down Fry without any preparation and it didn't work out so well yeah, that was my bad impersonation of him. I could not resist. Sorry, it didn't really matter if he could act or not, keura was. He's a big fan of potato chips and made sure to track down the UFC fighter to be a part of the movie. Gordon is also the only main character in the film who doesn't speak Japanese, which is really funny, but it works with the Brazen of him. character, he is supposed to be the over-the-top American action hero of the film even though he is dressed as if he stole something from Joseph Stalin's wardrobe.
Captain Gordon orders his crew to get dangerously close to the underwater volcano. The biggest problem is his pants, but he follows the major's orders. played by well-known Japanese actor Jun Kunimura, chances are if you've seen any live-action Japanese film from the last 30 years, there's a good chance he's in it alone. In 2004, the prolific actor was involved in nine projects, including Kill Bill volume 2 after the dangerous maneuver to get Monda to release them works, the dragon once again makes a line towards the Gango and this is where we meet our protagonist Shinichi Ozaki played by Masahiro Matsuoka Ozaki is a mutant and therefore Therefore, his enhanced abilities help the EDF against the monsters that Oaki can make.
Manually lock onto the giant sea dragon and freeze the target effortlessly. One model was made of hard urethane foam and a plaster exterior was used to represent a shattered Manda. Captain Gordon is reprimanded for his reckless maneuvers by EDF commander Namikawa, played by a woman I know well Kumi Mizuno, the character's name is namikawa, it's the same name as mizuno's character from invasion of the monster astom , this would be the last Godzilla film, Mauno would act in Starlet, who dazzled in the first films of the showa era, now she was the mature and older actress in the room to immerse herself more in the Godzilla franchise, it is really something to go through these films and seeing these actors and actresses get older and still come back to pay homage to this film series so far, the film has delivered on the Monster action right away.
The kingdom of Asa. of experience it wasn't until we reached the mutant training facility that we began to see Kitam Mora's fingerprints in the film, we see a full two-minute combat between the mutants Oaki and his rival Kaza played by Kane Kosugi, son of the famous martial artist. and actor sh kosugi because of the mutant's abilities, the fights in this movie look like something out of the Matrix and Kitamura doesn't even try to hide it later in the movie, although I'm sure some can point out that this style of fighting with superpowers It had already been happening for some time in Japan with the Super Sentai series.
Ultram man and other Tok Satu entities. EDF learns that a mummified monster has been found in Hokkaido and a specialist is sent to help investigate. It will be Ozaki's. job to protect the scientist, we also learn that Captain Gordon is being imprisoned in a cell after punching his superior officer in the face, does that mean he punched Mizuno's character in The Face? Gordon needs to calm down the science that Oaki Mcard is the beautiful one that Miuki played. by Ray Kikukawa they have some pretty good banter for the most part when they arrive they are greeted by Dr.
Hairo Jinguji played by the legendary Kenji Sahara who is well known for his role in Ultra Q in his youth but I will . They always think first of Kazuo's character from King Kong versus Godzilla in Hokkaido. They see what we, the audience, immediately recognize as Gyan. To get this mummified look, they created a separate suit out of distressed material. The doctor theorizes that he came from outer space and shares that the Kaiju has similarities to Earth's mutants on a biological level, as we are left pondering what this means. The film quickly cuts from Gyan to a pretty pair of legs playing the news anchor.
Anna otonashi is maki Mizuno. Anna is interviewing the legend herself and Kira Takara. Not having been in Godzilla's epic farewell in 1995, but here's one of the original cast members from 1954. I'm sure Moku Coochi would have been involved too, but unfortunately he passed away in 1998 and of course Akiko Harata died in 1984 here. Takara plays UN Secretary General Nataro Dao as he investigates Gagan further. Miyuki mentions little Isla and we see a quick image of the original shagin played by the peanuts from Mothra versus Godzilla from 1964. Also, if you pause this part and start reading the text, it's really Anyway, a lot of broken English, our protagonist was apparently teleported to the Children's Island, where the shajin explained to them that the fossilized creature is Gagan and that 12,000 years ago Mothra fought Gan and stopped him.
Chihiro Uka and Masami Nagasawa play Shin once again. I guess it makes sense why bother casting different people for the same damn role? A year later, the shajan gave Oaki a special knife that I'm sure will come in handy later, while Daigo is flying to New York City, his plane is attacked by a flying Kaiju and only from the roar we know it's Rodan or his original Japanese name Radon who makes another appearance in the Godzilla franchise since his 1956 standalone film. Rodan has been Godzilla's enemy over the years, but also his ally at times and is first shown attacking the plane by Daigo. but then immediately after, he starts attacking the Big Apple in a scene that is so poorly filmed and acted that it makes you wonder if they were going to do that intentionally, they stopped shooting because the cop's words don't match his.
His mouth movements are because actor Mick Preston kept saying the FW. It's also funny that they didn't bother to change the look of New York City since this is supposed to be the future but it just looks the same as always even though we did some filming in New York City, this scene was actually filmed in Sydney, Australia, for some reason, I don't know whose bright idea it was to play the Looney Tune sound effects when their hats fly off, anyway, everyone dies because of Rodan, who is looks pretty good here in CG flying around New York Rodan was designed to look like the 1956 original, although a little thinner Playing Rodan is suit actress Naoko Cameo, the second suit actress to play a monster in a film from Godzilla, the first was R OT as Baragon and I just mentioned it so we can play this clip again in the EDF, they are monitoring Rodan's situation as reports start to appear of more monsters attacking around the world in Sydney, Australia.
I'm Matthew Brri. I mean, he's our good friend. from 1998, is now called Zilla because, according to Tomiyama, TriStar Godzilla took the God out of Godzilla. Zilla is the only monster in this movie that was rendered entirely in CG and the CG model of him was the Master's Ultimate Godzilla trending figure, they literally just scanned that in and boom. Here's Your Monster Zilla originally wasn't supposed to be in the movie, it was when Tomiyama found out they could use the monster and it was added at the end of the process. This guy has the best extra role ever.
He eats so much in this fall. That's cool, Zilla basically does what his 1998 counterpart did: run around a big city and pick up random trucks with his mouth. These two guys here actually had a little backstory with more parts. They were basically just two idiots, but Tomiyama made Kitamura cut that part out. Since the movie was already running too long, we head to Shanghai, where we see Angus destroying the place where 30 years have passed, but they finally bring back the monster who gets no respect, which is strange, considering Angus is the first monster Godzilla's rival. This film, Angus is played by Common Rider and Super Sentai suit actor Toshihiro Uro.
Angus even performs a new move that we will see later in this video as the Chinese flee from the irradiated anosa surus, the film cuts to okanawa, here we see King. Caesar terrorizes the Okan, which is a nice twist considering that in his first appearance back in 1974, he is the Guardian King of Okawa. Caesar might be my favorite monster besidesGodzilla, it's cool to me because I love the way shisa statues look and that's what it's based on. and if you look at the first shot here you can see a statue of Shea, unfortunately no song is sung to wake him up this time, but I'm sure most people were happy that the monster was played by the actor in a suit Kiru from Tokyo SOS.
Motokuni Nakagawa the King was redesigned to give Nakagawa more flexibility to move. For the most part he still looks like the original, except for more detailed skin and the most notable change is the human-looking eyes and larger ears. I love that for these scenes so far, the original Roars. and monster sounds are mainly used in Paris. We see hm kamic curus first seen in Son of Godzilla. I hope this doesn't mean what I think it means. Kamic curus was slightly redesigned to have an additional pair of light green wings and make both claws sickle-shaped practically every time the monster flies in this movie.
He is created through computer graphics with a prop that is used in other shots, as he is one of the smallest Kaiju in the film. Mm. Smaller kaiju, no, no, they wouldn't. that some poor bastard in Arizona gets kumonga to delete his only trailer, yes that ugly eight legged bastard from Son of Godzilla is also in this movie, it's possible they made him appear in Arizona as a reference to the 1955 movie Tarantula that takes place partially in Arizona we have also seen all these monsters so far but one infamous one is missing, Jet Jagar, yeah where the hell is Jet Jaguar?
Ketara had something to say about that. I still know that a lot of Japanese people were complaining about why there was no Jet. Jaguar, I can't satisfy everyone's request, come on guys, Jet Jaguar didn't really fit into the world of Final Wars, it just didn't really fit into the story. If you have Jet Jaguar, you don't really need these kinds of hybrid human soldiers. Don't worry, everyone Jet Jaguar would finally get their own movie if not anime in 2021. Godzilla's singular point is probably the most confusing anime I've ever seen, but you get a lot out of Jet Jaguar.
According to some early designs, there was a giant octopus being considered, which would have been awesome considering one of Zarah's first ideas for Godzilla was a giant octopus. At a possible dig at Gamra, we see a boy playing with a bunch of monster toys calling the turtle-like monster a loser before throwing it away. With the fire, you get a better look at the toys he's playing with in the credits, where they show deleted parts of the movie. If you look, there's even a Monango toy from the 1963 horror film directed by Ishiro Honda. That movie is basically a very scary version of Gilligan's Island.
I guess this part was a good way to show recognition to the monsters that aren't in the movie, but also show that kids have almost always been a big part of the Godzilla fanbase and maybe it's a small reference to the The fact that merchandise has always been the majority of the revenue stream is real Ang Captain, it's sir, what did you say? The EDF begins its counterattack with its flying ships that resemble the Gango. The CaRu begin attacking Angus in Shanghai, led by Captain Lee Xiang, played by the most Alpha-voiced man ever K. takasugi, who we know well from The Kiru Saga, it's actually a shame that tagas sui and Fry never have a conversation in this movie.
The rumble is sent to chase Rodan and New York and then the final airship is the eclair, the egg carrier, the egg clair the. eclair, okay, I'm done, there will be no more references to Sonic Adventure until we meet again, my friend, but anyway you're there to defend Paris from Kamic Curus. The unnamed air captain is played by Shelly Sweeney, if you remember which you probably don't. you're not a loser like me Sweeney was one of the pilots in mech Godzilla and Godzilla versus mech Godzilla 2 and she was originally supposed to be an android in that movie, just when things are heating up and things are getting interesting there are battles on going.
Everywhere we see this old man and no, we all remember Manila or Mina from the Son of Godzilla from 1967, but I think the one that will always stay in my brain will be Attack of all the monsters from 1969, where we get a full dose of him in Ichiro. The dream world this time Manila is played by Cameo, who was doing double duty playing Rodan, as I mentioned before. Nishikawa wanted Manila's design to be a more refined version of the original. Anything would be an improvement over the way they designed it back then, many fans. I may not like Mina, I'm one of them, but like the scene with the boy playing with Godzilla's toys, Manila in this movie is an acknowledgment of what was happening in the Godzilla series in the second half of the series. 1960s and early 1970s.
Godzilla is more family friendly, so he fits into a film that basically tries to celebrate the

history

of the franchise and, unsurprisingly, he befriends a little boy named Kenta, played by kentas sugga . Mina was not part of the synopsis or the initial script. I don't remember, I just felt like we needed that heart and soul for the movie because we knew it was more of a fun '70s Godzilla movie that we were trying to make, we weren't planning on making a reboot of the original Godzilla that had that strong message, but I still felt like we had to send a message our way in Japan, a petrochemical complex is under attack by the sea monster itself.
Deborra is played by Toshihiro Ura just like Angoras Ogura is impressively doing triple duty in this The movie even plays up another monster that is revealed later. It's strange to see the giant embedding in the ground and even stranger to see human characters even though they are mutants fighting a Kaiju-sized enemy. I know they had a huge budget, but damn, I wonder if they could have used like 50% of their explosion budget on this fight scene alone despite Erra's obvious size. Advantage, it doesn't seem to matter, the mutants kick his ass worse than Godzilla in 1966 just to rub salt in the wound.
Kazama offers this beauty. one-line Sorry, I'm a vegetarian, he also says it in English, which wasn't difficult at all for American-born Kosugi, who speaks it fluently. Korro would be very pleased with how this whole scene played out. I still don't know why. He made that shrimp monster scene so long that I still love it. It's one of my favorite scenes from my own work. They don't do that in Japanese movies with that amount of fire and explosions and those crazy stunts. I love the scene, but why a shrimp? just as EO looks toast, the monster quickly disappears, we see all the monsters begin to disappear and the culprits make themselves seen and heard as they are shown floating above the EDF headquarters in a world with giant monsters and mutants, why not add some aliens?
The mix suddenly, Takara's Dao character steps off the ship stating that the aliens are not hostile and that they actually saved him from Rodan's previous attack and saved the Earth from the ERS monster now for anyone who saw the astromonster invasion or the destruction of monsters we have been. down this path before the aliens appear friendly but are actually using the world's monsters as weapons to hold humanity hostage or for anyone who played the 2002 video game Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee, this movie is basically the same plot, the aliens this time are the zelens. Same name as the aliens from the 1965 astromonster movie mentioned above, the Efer leaders board the ship where Commander Zillian played by Masato IU explains their purpose to them, the glasses they wear being a nice little reference to the original zillian look.
The alien commander explains that Earth will be hit by a runaway planet called Goro if the world's powers don't concentrate all their firepower in one place. We then see Daigo presenting this information to the entire UN. The runaway planet reference is from Gorath from 1962. directed by iser Alien Mania rounds around the world as these zens become rock stars essentially one of them even appears in a radio interview the DJ interviewing him in this scene It's director Kitamura himself making a cameo according to Kitamura he just did it himself because they We're running out of bodies and money right now even with a big budget there's also talk about aliens on TV and everyone remembers that poor girl who was killed by the terrifying Godzilla in the 2001 movie, well, here she plays herself in this part.
Tomo Shahara is the name of the actress and don't worry, she manages to survive this time. Lifelong Godzilla fan and actor Shiroo also makes a brief appearance on Godzilla's 50th birthday playing an assassin who attempts to kill the UN Secretary before he is quickly subdued by Oaki, but it is here that Ozaki gets an important clue that Dao and his Helian friends are not what they seem. From there, they discover that most of the world's leadership has been exchanged with double Zillians, in addition to Goro, which the Zillians notice. The world is nothing more than a hologram.
Now I suppose the goal of Goroth's ruse was to serve as a distraction to humanity. I don't know, since there is no one left, they can trust our protagonist, who has become the only man with balls. big enough to go against the whole world, yeah you don't do it with a guy who has a mustache like that, good job. He had never felt power like this. It was during Anna's talk show where Zillian's secret is revealed to the world. The Jig It's upstairs and it's a nice scene that was created earlier with Daigo's dog, since Zillian's copy can't remember the puppy's name.
Takara does a fantastic job here. Gordon and the gang join the party and throw an alien corpse into the room and then kill the fake secretary whose head opens up revealing Zillian's true form and this part uses some amazing practical effects. The icing on the cake is how audiences around the world react hor, while the Japanese couple is like meh, we've seen weirder in anime. In the midst of the chaos, the young Protege kills his leader, usurping power and becoming the new controller of Planet The controller of Planet and he is my second favorite character in the movie besides Gordon, the controller shows that he can turn even mutants against humans, except Oaki who is immune while the main cast escapes, the municipal commander stays behind to fight against his brainwashed subordinates, the commander is played by Masakatsu Faki, who was a Japanese mixed martial artist with an extensive fighting history.
I'm not sure if his character is a mutant or just a really strong human either way, this gives everyone time to escape. Kazama gives chase and a high-speed motorcycle battle ensues. It follows when Oaki finally defeats his mutant rival. He now no longer hides his intentions. These millions begin to once again unleash the monsters on Humanity, including this dramatic liberation of their own monster. Win. The alien cyborg. Kaiju has the biggest redesign of all the monsters. Yasushi Nirasawa would redesign Gan. to look more cybernetic and even made parts of the suit removable so they could make a modified version of the monster.
His abilities include flying, some nasty tools on those arms and a saw on his chest and unlike his original appearance, he can shoot lasers from His eyes, which was originally supposed to happen in Gan's first movie in the '70s, but being cut off in Shanghai, the kyou is able to fend off the spaceship until Angus displays a skill that he had actually been able to do in the video games. for a while, but this is the first movie where we see Angus turn into a deadly spiked ball, Karu would be destroyed, and All Aboard presumably died.
Angus truly lives up to the name angelosaurus killer of the living in New York City. He doesn't look much better for humanity since New York is in Rodan ruins. The shot of the Statue of Liberty on the ground is reminiscent of an Independence Day shot and the Gango is now the only remaining large ship on Earth. Our protagonists are left with something crazy. The plan made by Captain Gordon goes to the South Pole and frees the king of monsters to wipe out the Kaiju and Aliens and then locks Godzilla away again. It's a crazy plan for a crazy movie.
Gordon promises Anna that she will return. and then lays out what is at stake, this final mission would decide the fate of the human race. This is Operation Final War when the Gango begins its flight. We see that the Mutant Commander somehow survived their fight and all of his subordinates laugh as they watch Humanity's Last Hope taken. At the base at the South Pole where Godzilla is kept, we hear familiar music from Kitam Mora's favorite Godzilla movie. I feel like a car company or some kind of electronics company should have used this song to promote whatever product they were selling.
It just fits so perfectly that Kitamura considered having Mecha Godzilla or Kiru in the movie, but since the last two movies used the monster, Toyama decided against it, so Masaru sat's Mecha Godzilla theme will have to do. Gary Goodridge and Ray SEO played the two men working in area G. as it's called, they are both former MMA fighters and it's unfortunately obvious that they have little to no acting experience with their line reading what are they coming for? They come to wake up Godzilla the Zillian. He sends Gan to attack the Gango and he manages to knock him down. the big ship, but not before they fire missiles to wake up Mankind's greatest nemesis and I just hope it's been an hour since Godzilla was on screen normally, that amount of time would mean Doom for a Godzilla movie and for many people were like that. but we can't say that the first two acts didn't have much action, just not focused on Godzilla.
Godzilla's battle with Gyan does not last long as the cyborg attempts to drag Godzilla into his chainsaw. He's not very smart. Gan loses. his head in the process would create a next stump for decapitation, one less monster and one more pile for the end. The third act of the film is hilariously simple, they just have Godzilla follow the Gango to where the monsters are teleported to try to stop him. Arriving in Tokyo, one must wonder why the Zillians don't send their spaceship to destroy the Gango. I mean, I'm not going to act like this movie cares whether it made sense or not, but that seems like an obvious counterattack that the zillian could have made. employed Considering Gango is humanity's last hope, the first stop on the kick-ass tour is Sydney, Australia, where Godzilla performs his 1998 American performance, Zilla Japan vs.
America, Why Don't We? I really wish I had made that scene much longer, but again I had to choose all kinds of things, so I made the decision that if I can't do a full round, let's finish it quickly so that at least he can laugh a lot quickly, that's how it was and no It's just Japan's Godzilla versus America's. Godzilla, but can also be seen in the context of The Changing Times, the American Godzilla used the future of Cinema CG technology to fully render him, while the Japanese Godzilla uses the tried and true adaptation technique pioneered by Subara Zilla attempts to use his speed as the only one.
He has a real ability to fight Godzilla, but Godzilla's tail has different plans. Zilla is slammed into the famous Sydney Opera House before being burned by Godzilla's atomic breath. partially blamed on the 1998 film, TriStar Godzilla designer Patrick Topis was at the premiere of Godzilla Final Wars even though his monster was destroyed fairly quickly, he took it all in good fun and still felt honored that appeared in the movie Godzilla at the time. He moves north towards Japan, where the Zillian teleports Kumonga to get in his way this time as he passes through New Guinea. Kumonga shows the ability to shoot webs that essentially turn into a net and also shows the ability for him to jump great distances with ease.
The giant spider design uses brighter colors along with a gold colored silk that he shoots while watching this movie. I was convinced that this kumonga was being created completely with CG, but to my surprise, a real prop is used for part of it and it's a little scary that that thing is real. Godzilla realizes this and simply uses the monster's silk against him, moving him around and the team would use a crane truck for this part. Godzilla gives Kumonga the Team Rocket treatment by defeating the giant spider. Godzilla comes to Japan this time comically. Hurus is there to greet him and shows off a new ability, he camouflages himself with the landscape, which is amazing, but Godzilla is not fooled, the Mantis Kaiju is then impaled on an electrical tower, the CG is not bad for a daytime scene and it is actually seen.
Comparable to the support that was done between these fights, they try to do some character building between Oaki and Miyuki as Miyuki feels useless to the team and Ozaki tries to cheer her up. We also see Kenta's misadventures with her grandfather and Mina. These parts produce some very strange images as Godzilla makes his way further into Japan's interior. Zillian rushes forward. of him three monsters that in the history of the Godzilla films were his allies at various points, of course, in the story of this film, none of that matters. Angus wrote Dan and King Caesar begin their assault on Godzilla, but before it begins, Godzilla and Angus share some roars. and forward almost as if they were talking, maybe a Godzilla versus Gan reference, something funny is happening to you, it better also allude to the fact that these two monsters are old rivals.
I don't know if that was his intention, but I bet he went considering how fast. The pace of this movie is and yet it stops for a few moments so the two can greet each other. What we get is probably the most unique and comical fight in the entire movie. The strangest thing is that Angus is treated like a soccer ball. volleyball with Godzilla throwing him off a cliff when Godzilla has them all defeated and piled on top of each other, he opts not to kill them, perhaps a wink to the audience that these are my guys, I'm not going to kill them, however, in The original giraffe Godzilla was supposed to use his atomic breath to kill them all in a fiery explosion.
This was reconsidered because Tomiyama did not want to destroy the suits so he could use them later for promotional purposes. The goo finally reaches Tokyo where the mother is. The ship is and the Zillians finally release their small ships to try to destroy it again. I'm not sure why they didn't do this sooner, but who knows, we basically have a combination of Independence Day and Star Wars here with Kazama sacrificing himself to try to take down the Mothership Shield. To be honest, he wants to pay the debt of his previous betrayal. The moment tries to be dramatic, but it doesn't really carry much weight.
I probably would have cut this whole part out and used it to put on another monster fight scene, the Gango punches through the center of the mothership and just as it is about to hit its core, the aliens teleport into the ship killing everyone except to the main characters. How convenient with the world in danger, the Chajin decide to get Mothur. his lazy butt to go help Godzilla emerge in Tokyo Bay, but it's actually his body we see flying towards the Tokyo skyline first, yes, it's the smog monster from 1971's Godzilla versus hetera. Yoshi mitsub Bano must have been infamously excited because the hetera in his first film had her eyes designed to look like vaginas, possibly alluding to the fact that she was a woman, this time hetera is meant to be a man with her arm resembling a long phallic whip, which I'm sure you can guess what it's supposed to look like, which is unfortunate. that the straight scenes are mostly cut and he and ebra are quickly eliminated in less than a minute.
It's a shame because some of Heder's deleted scenes are shown during the credits and the suit looks awesome with the smoke coming out. Bono would be happy for his monster to be included, but he wouldn't be happy with the movie overall before they started the movie. I had lunch with Ruhi Kitamura at the time when he told me that Hedera was her favorite monster, so you'd think Hedera would be into her a lot more. I thought there was too much Gyan in the movie and it would have been better with more Heda Originally, tomorrow there was going to be Hetera attacking a Japanese island, however Tomiyama cut this scene and you can tell this happened by the fact that Herera didn't have a previous scene.
Like the other monsters, he was just unceremoniously killed, without really being introduced or doing anything. One small thing I liked about it as fast as it was: the music has the same feeling of each horror from the deep, an asteroid hurtling towards Godzilla from outer space. I love how they have Godzilla plant his feet, fire his atomic breath, and basically just tank an asteroid, which is like being hit with the force of a thousand nuclear weapons at once. Basically, Godzilla, of course, survives without a scratch and we get some beautiful shots here. OA and the special effects team did an incredible job on this final scene.
I also love this shot here when we see a mysterious monster descending ominously from the sky behind Godzilla and there's my favorite, the wide shot, the mysterious Kaiju is called Monster. X, proves that he is worthy of Godzilla and is the same here by using his gravitational beams of melee speed and durability to even withstand Godzilla's atomic breath at the Point Blank Range without being hurt, even bringing Godzilla to his knees during this battle. Mothur arrives just in time to help. Godzilla and the Zillians are also ready for her and deployed an upgraded version of the Gan we saw earlier this time with chainsaws for his arms. waza would install motors in the arm parts for this guy.
The motha in this film comes to life using the same accessory. from Tokyo SOS because it really doesn't get any better than that, the high speed flight pieces would all be computer generated, however the monsters fight in the air with the destroyed Tokyo Tower in the background, a tower that Mothra herself destroyed in his 1961 film, Gagan proves it. He is worthy of being Mo's opponent, as he even cuts off a part of his wing, causing the earth guardian to crash to the ground on the mothership. The Zillian leader explains that Oaki is special because he has combined mutant and human DNA. and that his true powers have not yet awakened Ozaki is considered a Kaiser Ozaki's Kaiser powers have awakened and apparently he is now under the control of millions of people, not even Gordon and his big balls and mustache can stop him, it is Miuki using that knife from before. the shishin gave them that makes him see reason we see that the characters of mauno and takara the real versions of them are alive and they escaped, how did they escape?
Well, that explanation is right up there with Palpatine somehow returning. Takara also has a very notable line. Here this is a reference to the 1965 comedy that Takara starred in with Mahama, a comedic parody of James Bond, shortly after this, Ozaki has an intense fight with the Zillian leader and finally defeats him and just to amplify the drama, the The mother ship begins to self-destruct and the Gango with all the good guys on board manages to escape just in time, just in time to see the main event. Motha returns to fight Gan, who accidentally takes out Frieza by firing two circular saws at Mothra and a laser, but the circular saws are Boomerangs.
Back to the unsuspecting Gyan, my own attack, Gan, still seems to work, so Mothra appears and crashes into the headless Gyan, seemingly destroying them both, although during the end credits we see Mothra flying back to the Child Island. , it's not clear if this is a deleted scene or not, but even stranger is that no one mentions Mothra's death, none of the protagonists notice, there are no reactions from the Vision program either, maybe there was a line in there somewhere , but it was probably cut from the interviews I've read, it seems kitamura. anguished by the editing, who knows by the incredible amount of deleted footage, maybe we'll have Godzilla fans clamoring for a kitamura cut with the momentum of the fight changing, Monster X begins to morph into something a little more familiar to us In the well-done transformation scene, we don't see King Gidora emerge but Kaiser Gidora, who has some differences.
One of them is that this Gidora has four legs instead of just two. Both Monster X and Kaiser Gidora were designed by Katsuya Tata. Monster X was played by Motokuni Nakagawa, while Kaiser Gidora. he had two people operating it, that's how massive nakagawa and ogura were, they would each control half of the suit. Kaiser gora's antigravity rays are apparently stronger than Godzilla's atomic breath and the rays are capable of causing Godzilla to levitate off the ground living at height. Honestly the name based on gravity, Gor kicks Godzilla for about 5 minutes and starts sucking energy from the king of the monsters.
Our protagonists now aboard the Gango decide to help Godzilla. Ozaki uses keno to shoot his Kaiser. energy in Godzilla charging him Godzilla may be the king of the monsters, but this wouldn't be the first movie in which humanity has helped him defeat hisenemy, in fact, it's happened quite a bit now, the squeezed Godzilla begins to tear off Gora's heads one by one. one that is strangely satisfying, the tables turn when Godzilla is now the one who kicks gora's ass and then to conclude the fight is the return of the red atomic breath like Godzilla Blas gidora to the atmosphere where the Alien Monster explodes just because God Godzilla has helped the humans does not mean that he has forgiven them and immediately attacks the Gango just when they seem finished, it is minia to the rescue just like in all monster attacks, Mina can change size and grow here Mina convinces Godzilla to forgive to humanity and not attack them anymore.
I see what you did there ketura the son of Godzilla asking his father to forgive the man his sins while his arms are outstretched like a cross who would have thought ketura was more subtle than Zack Snyder and of course I'm joking , I do not do it. I actually know if Ketura is making that implication here, that's just my funny observation anyway, it works when Godzilla turns around and heads towards the sea with Mina following him, but the real good news is that Gordon and Anna reunite just like he promised, oh yeah, Godzilla lets it out. one last roar and the movie ends, but wait, they didn't play that damn music again.
Are you kidding? You're making Godzilla leave with that music. Why did you make me do this and put it over the credits too? To me, this doesn't capture the mood of us seeing Godzilla for the last time in a long time or the end of an era. I mean, come on, this is a great moment and they're playing that mom, sorry, folks, when the credits roll. At the end we hear the roar of Godzilla from 1954 and that's it, the end of the Millennium era of Godzilla, the film would be released nationally in Japan on December 4, 2004 and despite all the money invested in this film , would be annihilated at the box office by Hal's Moving Castle. and The Incredibles Godzilla final wars would end its theatrical run in Japan earning only $12 million, well below the film's $20 million budget, gmk earning approximately $20 million.
Godzilla fans would be divided on this movie, and from what I see, they honestly still are. I don't know what to think of it. I know that the first time I saw it I didn't like it. I honestly found the monster fights themselves painful to get through, and their short length is probably the most disappointing part for me. but when I started re-watching it and researching all the SL references, little nods to the story, I changed my mind a little. I am a sentimental person and a fan of Godzilla. I can't bring myself to say I hate this movie, but I won't.
I say I don't love it either, but there are things to praise. The special effects of Ass. Ketura's style of action. The incredible performance of the movie's villain. Kazuki Kitamura stole every scene he was in. Don Fry was absolutely hilarious, yes, in a way, he is one of the most unique. Approaches taken on Godzilla since Godzilla versus Hetera, which I'm sure would make you very happy to hear otherwise, is a rehash of the alien invasion plots of 1960s films, since Omori's Godzilla versus Kyora, I don't know. has referenced so many American films in a Godzilla film X-Men Matrix Independence Day Star Wars are all copied or alluded to film critic and Godzilla fan David KET would describe Godzilla Final Wars in a much more brutal way.
The experience of watching Godzilla Final Wars is relatively simple. describe Imagine 8 year olds high on sugar and childish aggression playing the video game Godzilla Unleashed while rock music is blaring from a nearby laptop the film apparently has no message attached to it, which is unusual for a Godzilla film usually there is something that is said subtly or not kidura would say that the film did have a message for kitamura the message of his film was simply anti-violence I don't know if the box office numbers bothered him but it is clear that he was happy with the final product and He had a lot of fun making the movie and it generated a lot of memories from it.
It's pretty funny that Tomiyama wasn't too surprised by this result, as it seemed like he had already determined before this movie came out that the Millennium era had failed to start a new generation of Godzilla fans - the options for kids are more varied. now and they are seeing cuter monsters like the ones in pokemon if

godzilla

returns it will be in the hands of another generation of film directors here tomyo is talking about japanese children in At least I think he was, but his statement would also apply to American children. I mean, when Pokémon Red and Blue came out in 1998, it was like the Beatles coming to America.
The incredibly popular kids went crazy for it. I was one of them, video games. cards, the Pokémon anime was everywhere after a year or two. The craze died down, but I still enjoyed it and it served as a gateway to other Japanese shows. Godzilla final wars would be the last Godzilla film that Shogo Tomiyama would produce and continue to produce. other films before finally retiring in 2010, Tomiyama did the best he could considering he was following in the act of the great Tomoyuki Tanaka. When asked what his favorite Godzilla film he worked on was, he responded: I can't answer that because I have memories. special with and special feelings for each movie.
I also spent time with the crew of each film, so I can't decide which is the best film, but I can say that Kyora and Godzilla versus Mega Gearus involve sci-fi elements, so while these aren't the best. They are my favorites because they were science fiction movies that I love very much. At the core of Kaiju movies is a sense of wonder. Those are two exceptional movies. With a sense of wonder, I feel like I should play sad music for this part. I never put background music on my videos, so you know, let me try that once you're looking for a punch in the mouth, this works like it wasn't clear yet that times were changing.
The large pool that had existed since the 1960s, designed by AG Superia himself, was demolished after the filming of Godzilla Final Wars. Fittingly, the last time the pool would be used would be for this Godzilla movie. This was as big a sign as any, the days of miniature cities and giant monsters played by people in suits had also ended since 1954. Tojo had found his niche and his star, but no matter how profitable, successful or seemingly immortal, something seems all things. pass or change over time, even Godzilla, okay, let's not get melodramatic here, we all know this wasn't the end of Godzilla, but at the time Godzilla fans were wondering when Godzilla would return and in what form.
All they knew was that the Millennium Age of Godzilla had come to an end. I'm not really a fan of ranking movies, but if I had to rank movies from the Millennium era, this would be my list. If you've been subscribed to my channel since the beginning, you know that this has been a long journey from my first videos, which were generic reviews at first, to slowly transforming them into story-oriented videos. I appreciate all of you who have watched and enjoyed the journey so far. Thank you so much. I would also like to thank everyone who has worked hard. work that was done by the people who did the right footwork to make this information available and that I share in these videos.
I often site websites like the Japan sci-fi wikis, Zilla and also Kingdom, but most of the primary information for many of the stories comes from Tokatsu and Godzilla historians like Guy Tucker Stuart Galb and of course Steve Rifle, for example, who has done an incredible job bringing the history of these films to light and even went so far as to co-author a book on the life of Iser Oh Honda. I believe Rifle is writing a new book about Godzilla and I anticipate a lot of new information about Godzilla's history will be included. The book I first read that made me want to make these videos was Brian Solomon's Godzilla FAQ, a very well organized book that goes in depth. about a lot of the people involved in the films, so I know there aren't many books on the history of Godzilla, but definitely check out the ones that exist because they are fascinating works and were created by people who worked hard to uncover this information, everything What I'm doing is sharing this information in video format and giving my opinion in what I hope will be an entertaining way, but at some point and I'm not going to say when exactly we'll move on to the next era in The next Godzilla movies are Godzilla's 2014, eventually
