I think I think he's, I think he's, uh, yeah, I'm not, I'm not a conscious fan of it, how do you feel about the process? uh, it seems like some of these rules just came from everyone here. um, yeah, no, I mean, as long as we feel like um, you just want to feel like you have, you have a minute to digest what's being said, you can talk about it. I think that's something important, you know that and look. I'll be the first to say this is the first of these. I didn't come last year, we coveted two years ago, it didn't show up, so you know you're looking around trying to fill up. the room feels a little like what's going on here and you know, I feel like I should say something, nobody says anything, I feel like I have to say, you know, nobody says it, so you and I'm not sure that's the focus. right, but, um. but listen, I think you're listening and we understand what's going on.

When we got here, I knew it before we flew. I already knew what we were going to discuss. We had talked about it. I assembled myself. Brad did it. um and I would assume that everyone else has it too or not, maybe not everything, but because every time there's a player you think I wish there was a tenth of a second on the clock, no, no, no, but, of the same way, look. I'm open-minded enough to go, I get it, man, it's 10.1, you know, and you're going to take 10 seconds off the clock because of a penalty and you have point one to break a ball and you can take it out or you know.

It's like I got it, you didn't, you did it, oh we did it, yeah, so can you explain some of that to us? I think they are pretty simple. I mean, really look, the third quarterback deal was strictly because he was watching San Francisco. game and you're like, oh my gosh, if that had ever happened, that's the worst possible time to have me and you know, look, I thought Coach Shanahan made some really good points there and it really wasn't even about you know the fact. that the man This could happen to you, it's more like where concussions go, the concussion protocol or the detection of the man, you would lose a couple of quarterbacks, you know you're going to want a guy, eh, but that's really what it is, just don't do it.
I never want to be in that position where you don't have a guy who can smash a ball, um and then the other one was really man, the challenge system, it's not a big deal, but I think it was something of that. This is more of a cancer, it's not a trap because to this day I know what the rules say and I know what they say, but you can go in any direction and we had about three this year that were whether you're on offense or defensive and it's governed one way and when you go back and review the play, like Saint Brown, I think it was Miami and it's called incompletion, we know we challenged it and they said no, the rule stands. and then I say official I said look if it had been the other way around it is yes, I would have endured it, it was a problem, it would have remained, but since it was not a problem, it remained, you know, because it is a 50 50, what is it? it's man it's so close and man you hate losing a challenge on that so we just called what was there no clear evidence more subjective and you just that was it you just don't want to lose one of those that know you .
I only have one left or what if the same scenario comes up three plays later and you say, man, I changed the game, that's it, yes sir, pushing the quarterback. I'm fine with it, I don't have a problem, man, yeah, 'cause this is why, man. Think about it defensively, man, you've got to have a plan to stop it and that's what I'm excited about, we're going to have a plan to stop it, so, my goal is that, man, let's come back here next year and be like everyone else. . right, we can't do that anymore, you know, so listen, you have something good and then defensively you have to find a way to stop it, so that would be fun, listen to Sean, what a stud he is, another one of these guys He came in and uh, he just worked hard, you know, active he blew the whistle, hard-hitting, uh, aggressive and he was a good teammate and look, he had some bumps in the road at the beginning and then he came out of it and he was a man to who was a very good player.
He was cooking for us and he really kept us together in the back last year, so he will be missed. I wish you all the best of luck. So yeah, you'd know he would. I guess uh, I guess you could say. man, it would be nice to find another guy that could help us, you know, so, I would say our eyes are there, you know, we have eyes on that somehow, but yeah, and look, we'll miss the shark. he's another um you know he brought us something that was a little bit different than the rest of them so yeah I think that's a fair assessment Levi yeah he's another one he invites.
I kind of fall into the same category as, you know, us. We just need to see, you know, see how, see what it's like, we talked to him a couple of weeks ago, he was fine, you know, the rehab has been going well, but you don't know, you don't know, with his back, you know. but I mean, we're certainly not going to have a chance if the body lets him, he did. Knowing something, what do you do? How rejuvenated? John seems to be back as a coach after yes, a very, very rejuvenated man, can you? Tell him he's hungry, he's ready for a change of scenery, and, uh, I think you're about to get the best product, or the best version of it, that there's been in a long time, so I can't talk to Sean enough, What did?
What did you learn from him in New York and Allison is working? Yeah, I don't know what I didn't learn from him. You know, I mean, everything. I think you know there again. I just think he understands communication better than anyone. With players, I think he knows how to put them in the best position to be successful. I think he knows how to use the entire squad that goes into the game, every part of it and use his strengths. And I think he is. He's a very innovative guy, he's always a

head

of the curve, he's always thinking outside the box and, you know, I think he's a stud in the competition, which suggests that, well, look, we already had it scheduled, so you know , I know what they said.
Ours will be the first preseason game that we had already prepared with the Giants before talking about all this, but I mean, I think you do it like any other practice man, you would be smart with what you do. we're doing and you know they're going to suggest what they're going to suggest and we listen to it, but it's not that we don't do it, we don't have the best interests of our players at heart and we're reading our own data and we're trying to find the best way. to help our guys recover and all that, but you know, at the same time there's a balance between wanting to get a really good job and maybe not having to. plays some of the starters, so you made some guys cut their hair to stay in Detroit, but I don't think any of them are as significant as Romeo's.
I'm just wondering about the conversations you had, but it was important for him to stay here despite you. you know, maybe um, yeah, I'm just talking about Romeo's return, yeah, well, look, I guess that look I'm not, I can't speak for his side, but I know that for us, it was us, of course, we wanted for Romeo to come back, man and it's been tough, you know, we invested in him, after the year he'd had, knowing the type of player he was and, unfortunately, the injury basically knocked him out for a couple of years. you know, and what we got last year I can't say I was necessarily surprised that it wasn't um, it wasn't back to back to his old form, you know, he's a guy with serious injuries and uh, you come back and we're playing the last few games. , so I think to be able to get him back, knowing that he's going to be a lot healthier, you know he's going to have had now another, you know, six and seven months on top of continued recovery.
That's the other thing, man, he's a grinder, now Romeo's a grinder, he's a self-made man, you know, and so he's doing everything he can to make everything better, make his body better, so I think it's a great man and, again, what? Does he do it? He brings competition back to the position, to our defense, and that's how it gets better. I mean, the talent level is raised, the competition is raised and you can't stop it from getting better and whoever comes out of that is a starter. or a sub starter, you better be okay.
