Mar 31, 2024
Hey guys, today we are going to make the easiest tear

tray

that cost me less than 15. I have a list of many decorating ideas that I have wanted to make. The best way to display minis is on a

tiered

tray

that you didn't have when purchasing. These things are pretty expensive, so the goal here was a quick,

easy

, and inexpensive

tiered

tray. Let's get started, you'll want to go to the hobby lobby when they are buying half of their unfinished wood craft supplies that I went with. I was meaning to get two rounds of wood, but they're sold out, so as soon as you see they're half off, head there the first day they have the sale.

I bought these two wooden plaques and asked my husband to find the center for me and make a circle where he could place my wooden candle holder. I'll leave a link in the description box to a YouTube video that shows you how to find the center of a circle. I'm lightly sanding the chandelier before. I use wood glue to attach it to this wooden plate. Your best option for finding a wooden chandelier will be a thrift store. You can find them all the time for about a dollar. Another place to get them would be a hobby lobby.

Any unfinished candle. The wooden chandelier would work great for this Amazon has them too. After gluing the candle holder to the center of the larger plate, I put the bottle of glue on it to give it weight and let it dry for several hours before continuing. Once it was set up a bit, I glued the smaller plate to the top of the candle holder. You can leave it as is or you can give it legs. I thought it would look a little better lifted off the table. a little bit and an affordable option what I'm doing is Walmart has these wooden knobs in a ten pack for ten dollars so they're a dollar each and I'm only going to use three.

I used a good wood glue to put this all together. What you can go back after you glue it up and put in some screws or long staples or nails or you know whatever you want to do, but I leave it as it is attached with wood glue, it's very sturdy once the glue has set, it's done and you can Finish it however you want or leave it in simple natural wood. The top plate is essentially a 12 inch plate, so it fits a standard 12 inch cake plate hood, which I thought was nice that way if I ever wanted to cover the top tier I could use.

I finished my tiered tray with Waverly's Antique Wax and bought a bottle of the dishwasher safe mod podge. I'll probably give it a coat, although I don't like a glossy finish. so I'm probably going to do it anyway because I want this to be washable. I would never put it in the dishwasher, but just to make it more washable I'm in the sink, I think it would be a good idea to put a layer of that mod podge. I'm looking forward to making some minis, so keep an eye out for that video soon. Thank you very much for watching today.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day. See you at the next one.
