Lowe’s Present Hack

Mar 26, 2024
Hello and welcome to our channel, today we are going to do a Lowe's gift event. We saw these gifts at Lowe's and it was $130 for three gifts, so we thought we'd try it ourselves. We calculate the calculations for these. and I think it cost us about five dollars per gift to make 15 in total, we appreciate your support so hit subscribe and like. Here I'm just making some corner supports for our gifts, just gluing some paper onto cardboard to give them some Strength, the squares themselves measure two inches by two inches and then I'll fold them to make the corners.

By making the corners, it gives the

much more stability and, in a way, squares it up much more easily once the squares have been cut. you'll fold them point by point once and then again once you've folded, you'll unfold them, make a cut in one of the folds towards the center, then you'll take some hot glue and attach it. on one of the edges and fold the other edge up to make your corner and you will need eight of those corner brackets, then once the corners are finished you will get a quarter inch dowel. I'm using these scissors here to cut them. and you will make them 10 inches long so I measured 1 to 10 inches then I will use that as a template for the others and just mark them so they are about the same size and you will need 12 of those to make them. the frame for your gift, once it's all cut you can start assembling the corners and with the frame, so put some glue on the seam and in the middle and start stacking the pegs to put four together to make a

side, then repeat the process again to make the other side.

Once you've finished two squares, you'll take one of the squares, place a glue seam on each corner, and place pegs there to make the outside of the frame once it's complete. We will take the other square but glue the corners and place them on top of the other supports according to our calculations. We are saving about 105 on this project. Check out some of our other videos to see how you too can save some money on projects. they're the box frame and we're going to take another piece of dowel as a measurement in between and we're going to put this one in there because that's where the arch is going to be at the top so it's going to give it a little bit of extra support and strength and we're going to have a starting point here and we'll start wrapping it with our cheesecloth and we'll take about two rolls of this mesh ribbon to cover the gift and you can get it at any of your places like Dollarama Dollar Trees like that so you see we put the glue on one side and secure the mesh and then You are going to put a little glue on the side and the other side because you have to wait for it to dry a little to be able to pull it a little. tight so it looks nice, then you'll repeat the same process putting glue on the sides and the key here is to keep it relatively tight and of course you can use any color you want, blue, red, green, we just used this white because it looked like a gift and it matched those colors and then you're going to leave the bottom open so you're really only going to wrap three sides so glue it down and trim off the excess and you want that open space under the other support bar at the top because that's where it is where the bow goes and below it will be the hole where you can put the lights and the same thing goes on the other side so you will glue one end wait for it to cool wrap it until you reach the bottom again there and once half of the gift is wrapped, we will start and repeat the same process on the other half for the glue.

We are using Gorilla hot glue. It works very well. We highly recommend it. Now the wrapping is done and ready. It's bow time and we have this red ribbon at Dollarama for 25 dollars and here's my assistant Harry, my supervisor, watching over my work, so for the ribbon part, you're going to take your ribbon, start at one end and go around the three sides. get the length you need, cut it to size and glue each corner and crimp when you fold the corner at the top. Now I'm starting the ribbon bow, so to make the bows you will cut one the length you like fold it in half and then you will glue in the center of each one and glue the ends to the center so there we are going to put the glue in the center and that's how it's done and there's our gift with the ribbons wrapped and to finish these bows we're going to glue them into an x and make a little circular part in the middle to give it that finished look yeah so just put a little bit of glue on the middle, look, make a little x, glue them together and then put another little bit of glue on top for the center of the bow.

Now that the bow is ready, we will put a little glue between the two ribbons and place it on an additional diagonal to the lines to give it a nice visual appearance. and there's our basic gift, but to give it a little more pizzazz, we got this selection at Dollar Tree for $25 and we're going to put it up to give it a little more pizzazz and there we go, that's the gift with everything in it. now I'm just going to add a book so we can hang some lights inside. Our gift is finished. I really like it, it's great, how do you think our

compares to Lowe's?
