Today's video, I honestly love and recommend them and go check out the link below now to start painting. our DIY's, I promise they are easy, don't get overwhelmed, they were super fun to make and super cute, so let's get started. For these projects I will use these little wooden boxes from Dollar Tree or these little signs, but you could definitely use scrap wood if that's what you have on hand and I started by removing the little 3D pieces they had and then sanding them to get a smooth surface, although I'm going to add a little red and pink here. for my Valentine's Day

decor

I wanted a nice base coat of this gray beige color and this is the mineral chalk paint so it goes really well with all the neutral decor in my farmhouse.

I think I ended up having to give each of these little boxes three coats of chalk paint just to cover all the letters and the little jagged dot, so for this first little piece of decor I wanted it to look like a little letter envelope. of love and I will use this elephant. chalk paint and I only use the Waverly chalk paints from Walmart and I just need a basic envelope shape so I'm going to use a rectangle with a little triangle on top to make it look like I'm painting. On a little house, you can see I started with a small rectangle because I'm always so nervous to dive in and start painting in case I make a mistake, but I slowly went over it and made it a little bigger if you wanted. nervous about free hand, you could definitely draw this with a pencil very lightly and just erase everything that shows, but I knew this was going to be just a basic shape and like I say, I'm NOT a professional painter, this was just for fun. and just to show you some cool little ideas, I had to use items from Dollar Tree in case you don't have access to scrap wood or hep saws or something, but it's really easy to grab some little decor pieces that you can find very inexpensive and exchange them for things you will love.
I wanted a middle color of the background and the envelope, so I just mix a little bit of my elephant gray along with some of the mineral to get this middle color that I'm going to use for the inside of the envelope, so I'm just going to use a cheap paint marker. I bought them in a package from Walmart too. Sometimes I also like the Sharpie brand and I'm just going to outline this as I say it's not perfect. I'm just doing this for fun, but I love how it turned out. I think adding the black outlines definitely gives it more definition than it is and then I went over the places that it doesn't.
They look great and this makes it look more like an envelope, so I'm using this little white wooden heart. I picked them up in a big package from Target Dollar Spot and they've lasted me forever, but I know they have wooden hearts at places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels, so I'm just going to hot glue the envelope to give it a little

valentine

, so whenever I'm crafting, I honestly don't know exactly how things are going to turn out. so it looks like I have an idea in my head, but I always try it and then if I don't like it, I just fix it for this piece.
I wanted a little letter, so I'm just using a little piece of cardstock. I cut it out and folded it, but I wanted it to look like a little letter poking out of the envelope and you all know I hate my handwriting when it comes to adding it to centerpieces, I just don't like it. It just makes me look like a less professional piece of decor, so I didn't like it at all and ended up replacing it, but I already hot glued it on because I thought that's what I was going to do. I used it and added some of this beautiful red and white plaid ribbon that I also bought from Dollar Tree.
I just wrapped it around the block to add a cute little decoration on the edges and then tied a little knot on top. and then I thought I needed something extra and it was just behind the envelope so I ended up using the back of a brush and just added some pink polka dots, this one is the color of the ballet slippers and also in Waverly chalk paint because No I used almost nothing else, just added some random dots of different sizes to the bottom and then I wanted the top to be a little higher, so I ended up just tying a super simple bow with the same white and red squares. tape and then hot glue on top like I said.
I didn't like that little letter with my handwriting on there so I decided to add another little different letter by cutting out a different piece of cardstock and I just drew some cute little hearts on there and I loved it so much more, it goes perfect with a red ribbon so this is it what turned out. I love this. I think it's so cute you could definitely customize the fine print and add it on a three tier tray. or put all these blocks together to make a decorative stage and then I will do the same for the second block.
I'm removing that little 3D piece, sanding it, and then giving it a nice base coat of mineral chalk paint. so i knew i wanted this block to say something and the easiest way for me to do it is to use these little wooden letters. I didn't have the L so I ended up having to fix this F to become an L. One small style in particular came from Walmart and they are only a couple of

dollar

s for a very large package. A lot of times my Dollar Tree runs out of wind letters, so I like to pick them up at Walmart.
I just spelled the word love and I'm painting it on the same pink ballet slipper I wore in the first blog. Now for this I wanted a nice

painted

wreath with some berries. You can trace it with a pencil if you want. Be perfect, but I really just wanted this to look like a little hand

painted

vine, so I wasn't worried about it being perfect. I just made a solid circle around it. No, it's not perfect. I intentionally didn't want it perfect and then I just did it. Another little natural looking circle around the edges too, after making the two simple little circles around it to look like a little intertwining vine, I just put these little shoots or branches in there and they are so easy, they were just pretty.
They're just little wavy lines going in the same direction so I wanted all of these blocks to coordinate with the same red and pink paint color and it goes with the little red hearts that were on my little love letter and it also goes really well with a red and white checkered ribbon, but I'm just taking the back of my brush and then adding some little berries on those little buds or twigs or whatever they're called after I've spaced out all the little red polka dots really well. I went back in and filled in the little blank spaces with a pink ballet slipper.
Then it was super simple, I just hot glued my letters and added the same matching bow on there. I also think this one turned out really pretty and I think this would look good. It looks really nice on a larger scale if you had a larger circular piece, so I had a different block for the last one, but it's exactly the same size. They only had two different styles at Dollar Tree and I wanted some cute lovebirds. Love Birds I think they are really cute and I just wanted something to represent me and my husband so I'm just painting a branch like I say.
I am not a professional painter. I just found an image on Pinterest that I really liked. so I just looked at that but I started with a branch and I don't want it to look perfect so I leave my little brush strokes and it looks blurry but it's completely fine and I'm just adding some twigs of this too so it coordinates with the other blocks . I'm painting some little leaves with a pink color and a red color and that's the pink ballet slipper chalk paint and then just a little bit of Apple Barrel red flag to paint the little birds.
They were so simple to make that I just drew the little heads and their little bodies and the tails and they don't look perfect but I thought they were cute enough that I could show that in this piece of decor it was so simple just draw them with this black paint marker and then I was able to take some of my Apple Barrel black paint and fill them in after the black paint had completely dried. I'm using a white paint marker just to give them a little highlight and definition. I thought it would be really cute to incorporate our initials into this piece, so I wrote them on another one of those little white wooden hearts and then I took this little thin marker and I made it look like it was just hanging from On another branch I also tied the red and white checkered ribbon around the top and for the two sides I simply tied them in a knot.
I didn't add the full loop. I try to place them and make sure they all coordinate very well. I forgot about the red bird leaves so I went back and added them. I'll be honest. At first I was a little nervous about making the bird. I was worried it wouldn't come out, but I think it's definitely here. to be one of my favorites, but I loved how all three turned out, let me know in the comments below which one is your favorite and if you're going to try this, thank you all so much for watching, please give this. video a big hug goodbye
