Testing NEW HYPED makeup + Everything I learnt from SELENA GOMEZ'S *Makeup Artist*!!!

Mar 18, 2024
It's like a cold metal thing. It's like one of those, oh no, a champagne-toned one. I'm just going to paint this, oh my god, me too. Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel, so today I'm going to try something new. popular

makeup

products, it won't be a full face, but well, I guess not, I'm going to do a full face, not every element of my face will be something new, but I have some of the new rare things. Beauty, I have the collaboration of Robert Welsh. I have the Trigwell Cosmetics powder powder that I've seen so many people talk about on Tick Tock and I thought I'd try to recreate the

makeup

I had done yesterday because I don't know if you guys follow me on my Instagram, but yesterday I went to a Rare Beauty and Rare Beauty's global stylist and one of Selena's makeup

artist

s actually did my makeup.

What I wanted to say is the amazing Synthia who did my makeup on her Instagram. it's synth underscore pop and she's so talented and it turned out so nice and I really want to try to recreate it today so I have some of the products that you use so I'll do my best. I mean, she played Wizardry. in my face, um, but I'm going to try to recreate it, let's get into it guys. I'm going to start by moisturizing my face because I haven't done that yet, yeah yesterday was a really cool event in London. I put a little picture on the screen of what my makeup looked like or like a little video, it was just light, fresh, super glowy skin and then she used one of the new weird beauty highlighters.

She also used highlighter on my eyes, which I wouldn't use. You know, you necessarily think about using it as eyeshadow, but she used one of them as eyeshadow and it turned out very beautiful, but it was a very surreal day because I don't know, it was like a photo shoot and I had my makeup on. I did my hair and being able to go to a cool event like that with her beauty, which is one of my favorite brands, was a really cool moment, so I bought this foundation brush a long time ago and I still haven't bought it.

I tried it, I don't know why, but I have the foundation, the concealer brush that I think they used on me yesterday. I'm going to use the rare beauty skin tint Tinted Moisturizer. I have the shade 22w, it kept my skin super. light and fresh. I'm going to try to work more like a makeup

artist

today and try to be a little less harsh than usual because yesterday's foundation felt very light and she just buffed on a very, very light layer and she liked it. She did a lot of patting motions, I think because she noticed that I was having a little eczema flare-up yesterday and I was talking to her about it and she said, "You know, I don't want to irritate it too much." she was just very gently patting those areas and then the rest of my face in circular motions, but I guess a good way to not irritate any dry patches is to pat them.

I'm going to do it too. To tell you some of the things I learned yesterday because it was very interesting to watch her work and she was also a very perfectionist. She spent over an hour doing her makeup and, as if it wasn't rushed, she really paid attention to

everything

. the details and she didn't let me get out of the chair until it was completely perfect and how she loved it and how I loved it and asked me if there was anything I wanted to change, if I felt comfortable with it and yes, it was such a good makeup experience because I haven't done make up that many times in my life and I've had some lovely make up artists who have been amazing but I've also had a couple of times where I've had make up done where they've just been very aggressive and very harsh and this foundation brush is really pleasant.
Luckily, minus the eczema flare-up I had yesterday. I was having a pretty good skin day in terms of breakouts and things like a little spot. there and the way he worked is he did a little bit of the skin and he liked the bay leaf and then he moved on to the eyes, then he did the eyebrows I think, and then in the final step he liked the bronzer, the blush, the highlights and those things. and I added powder at the end. I guess that way, if there was something like Fallout on my face, she could just wipe it off and remix it.
I don't know, I don't know why it worked that way, but I mean it worked really well. I need to use it more often so these are my new beauty things which are the positive light eye brightener and I have light to medium to light so I'm going to give you a sample of both and it has a really interesting applicator , it's like a cold metal thing, those are the swatches, it's not really a concealer texture, it's more like a serial skincare kind of thing with a little bit of tint. or I guess it's a lighter concealer so I'll use the light shade.
I'm just going to grab a little stretch concealer from this collection in the shade cashew to hide some of my imperfections. Oh, and I'm using the small one. concealer brush from raw Beauty which by the way I think they have restocked the highlighters now at Space NK, let me check if they have indeed restocked the highlighters. I'll leave them linked below. She put a little concealer under her eyes. but not too much, just like a little bit of concealer. Another tip I learned yesterday is to work in light layers. Everything was like little pats. Movements like little bits of concealer here and there.
She was very soft and light. -hands with

everything

I really like I'm with the eye shadow oh my god the eye shadow was a process and I have my eyes closed for a long time or I wasn't looking in the mirror and I felt like she was putting on she put on a Lots of eyeshadow and she kept dipping into different colors and blending over everything and adding different shades and I felt like she was putting on a ton and then I looked up and it's like the most beautiful Blended diffused and she brought it. It felt really far away but I guess it was like using a clean brush to blend it out and I was expecting to look up and have that super dramatic look and I looked up and it was so soft and beautiful so I think taking your time with the shadow of eyes is another thing that I learned yesterday with the eyebrows, she put a little bit of um like eyebrow soap, I think just to shape them and then added a little bit of pencil, but I definitely made my eyebrows a little bit lighter than usual.
I really liked how they looked, they just looked very soft and fluffy, so I'm going to try this which is the new benefit of fluffy eyebrow wax. She says it's a flexible texturizing brow wax. I love the original Benefit Brow gel, but this is supposed to be a softer, less crunchy version, so I'm going to put a little of this on my brows. Oh yeah, it's really soft and fluffy and I'm going to wait for this to dry and see if it feels any crunchy. I like the feeling of this benefit. It almost feels like a sort of soapy brow which I like for my eyes.
I have the collaboration box which is Robert Welsh's collaboration with this box. it's 35 pounds and here you get five different full size products and I love the rubber it's great so thank you Robert for sending me this you know what I don't think I've ever tried CRT one of the little eyeshadows of his. palettes before trying the larger ones. I've never tried one of these little ones. I was going to say quads, which are definitely not nine pan quad palettes, but it actually looks very similar to the type of colors I had in the palette. Yesterday's session was something like neutral tones.
The browns let me blend this concealer first too because my eyes are closed. I didn't see what he used as a base. It really gave me the eye contour. I guess I'll take this shade to I could mix it with a little bit of this because it was a little bit warmer shade. I think it was just a little bit of bronzer. She blended it well above my crease and I can feel her blending it. So far to carve out the hollow of my eyes as well and she said because on camera you know the lights were pretty strong, she wanted my eyes to have some definition so I'm just going to put a little bit of this color. and then I'll make sure to mix everything really well.
The shade is pretty, so I'm only taking a little bit, but yeah, I could feel it blending it like right under my brow bone. I'm going to open this up, which is the amazing translucent powder in the box, but I'm going to dip a little bit of this powder onto a clean brush to blend the edges of the eyeshadow and diffuse it a little bit more. like one of those, oh no, very sheer, finely milled powders, so I'm going to take a little bit of this on a brush and use it on the edges of that eyeshadow to blend it out and I think it was this shade that she liked.
I like to buff it on the edges but I like it very very lightly and reapply it with my clean brush, then I'm pretty sure I used a slightly darker brown shade but most of the shades on my lid were bright. but I think she might have taken a little bit of a darker brown that wasn't a shimmer first, so I'm going to take this one and right on the tip of this brush because it's pretty pointy. I'm going to take a little bit of that on my outside corners, but literally just here, so let's take a little bit of that here, oh gosh, okay, I should have removed the excess there and then I'm just going to blend it in, but not too much. away because most of the depth was just in my outer corners, honestly when I kept looking at myself in the mirror I was like wow, it looks so pretty it almost felt a little bit like the bridal look she did because it was so shiny and like.
I just enhance my eyes naturally instead of piling on too much product so far these eyeshadows are really nice. I like it. I like it to build up a little more. I'm just doing little circular motions to blend, but I was talking to her about it. I work in general and she said she had been a makeup artist for over 20 years which made me angry because I mean she didn't look old enough to have been a makeup artist for 20 years, it was very interesting to hear from a little bit of her story and how she used to work for Mac and traveled a lot and I mean, she still travels a lot with Rare Beauty and has worked for Rare Beauty.
I think she said it was fine from the beginning I'm pretty sure, but yeah, she's the world's stylist and she does Selena's makeup quite often for her events and stuff, and she was super friendly and it was very interesting to chat with her and she also said What is your favorite Red Beauty product? It's the liquid blushes, which I think everyone's favorite product of my beauty is the liquid blushes. I'm going to grab the highlighter in Exhilarate, which is this kind of champagne shade, oh my gosh, the texture of these highlighters is very thin, hopefully. you can see that it doesn't really add too much texture to the skin, it's more like a shimmer wash, they are very very soft and delicate.
They sent me an APR package with these on two of them, they actually arrived broken but I was able to fix one. I made a bit like the actual Tick Tock video. In fact, I think it's also in my YouTube shorts and then he took the shade Enlighten, which is the white one, one of mine that was broken, but you know what I did. I mixed it again with a large amount of alcohol and it is perfectly fine and perfectly usable. I wasn't going to waste that so the white is very very bright and she used it on my inner corners and also on my brow bone and then I'm pretty sure she came back in with a bright dark brown shade on top , like my outside corners, so I'm going to paint this, oh my gosh, yeah, it's so cute that he took it up to that fake. crease she made with the eyeshadow to carve my eyelid, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, I need to start bringing my eyeshadow up here as my transition shade because that has made such a difference, it's almost like carving my eyes, which I guess was the point she made in the first place, but you know what I mean, I usually never wear my eyeshadow that far, so on my eyelids, oh, hey, pinky, hold on a second , I just need to go feed my dog.
I just looked in the hallway mirror and if you're a bride, I feel like this would be the most perfect look, almost like the most perfect, and the most perfect product for her because you can't see it. heavy at all it just looks so bright then she used an even smaller brush and a darker shimmer eyeshadow so I think I'm going to wait let me show these two there's that one and that one um I'm going to go for for the middle one, but oh, that looks like a really nice shimmer too, actually you know, these shimmers in this palette feel really soft too.
Oh that gold is stunning, yes the shimmers in this little eyeshadow palette are also very soft and beautiful. one in special. I'm going to take some of that darker brown shimmer tone and add some of this on my outer corners which almost looks exactly like the color that you used yesterday, I actually just put it on my outer corners and dragged it in as well. a little along my lash line. I'm going to keep coming back to the photos, you know, I think I'm almost nailing this so far if I do say so myself. I don't think my crease was at all.
With definition like that, I think he could have gone back with a small brush and just blended it out slightly so it wasn't such a harsh line. I'm just going to take a little bit of this shade from the Seattle palette just add a little bit of that to the center of my eyelid. I think she took a kind of pencil brush like this and reapplied a little bit of that dark brown Shimmer shade and almost made a little line along my outer cornerlike on my lash line, then I'm going to quickly blend out the little bit of crease that I have in my concealer, but then she went really close to my lash line with a little brush of that darker brown shimmer color. shade and she literally did it very very close to my lash line and it didn't blend or anything, the absolute look of the show was the highlighted shade that she put on my inner corners and I closed my eyes and I could feel her doing like a little circle here, but that's so bright, then I stamped a little bit of black eyeliner, but literally just on my lashes, so I'm just going to make the line thinner.
This is an eyeliner. from Shiseido is the arch liner ink but NYX has a very good copy for this. I think it's called "that's the point" or "to the point" or something like that, but something I also found very interesting is that she said she was also studying graphic design and said that initially she didn't want to be a makeup artist and that she was going to be a designer. graphic and I was like me too for my mascara instead of using a disposable spoolie, she took the red Beauty mascara and kind of, um, took a little bit on the back of her hand and then used a little fan brush.
I'm trying to see. I don't think she has one that's similar to this kind of thing, but thinner, and she put mascara on it and then painted it. she got on my eyelashes and she also curled them without tearing them off or hurting me and she was able to curl them. I'm like I can barely curl my own eyelashes let alone have someone else curl them for me so I don't know how she did that but she did an amazing job but since I obviously don't need to use anything disposable with my mascara I'll use a mascara myself and this is the Wonderland boxed mascara that comes in the little set.
I'm not sure I've tried this before, but I'll give it a try. It's a pretty dry formula, it separates a lot and it's a very dry formula which I like because it's not too messy, it's a pretty lengthening mascara and it doesn't have a ton of volume um, but it's definitely very separating so if you don't like You like your mascara to cake on too much, I'm trying not to put too much on because I'm going to put on some little individual lashes. I like the formula but I generally went for a more voluminous mascara and then she put a little bit of mascara on my bottom lashes but like a little bit and it was just on the roots and quads which is very hard to do with this bra. mascara, yeah, I think that was about I might add a little more later, but for now that's enough.
I'm going to wait for this to dry. I'm going to finish the rest of my face and then I'm going to glue on the eyelashes because she's glued to these. little individual tabs and it tied everything together really well, so I'll do that last. I'm going to use the weird Beauty Stick that she made, she actually powdered my face and then I'm going to use a powder bronzer, um, it's not a weird Beauty one just because uh Rabbit doesn't have powder bronzer right now, so she used Charlotte Tilbury. I think it was a Charlotte Tilbury like powder bronzer because she powdered my face and then she said we need to tan, but I'm going to take my weird one.
Beauty bar and I just do like a wash of bronzer similar to what she did, so I'm just putting a little bit on my cheeks, obviously, but normally I would paint it right on my face. Today I'm just doing a little bit of this. I definitely had a little bit on my forehead, but not too much. I think she put some in my nose, but you didn't know? kind of a nose contour, but she just she put a little bit on my nose for the blush that I'm taking. the Beauty red blush I think this is the melting blush.
This one is hardly neutral. I didn't have a ton of blush yesterday, but I only had enough to add a little color to my face, so I'm going to say goodbye a little. of this over and over again there was a little bit on my nose but not too much actually it was probably a little bit too much and it's probably a little bit more flushed than yesterday but that's great I'm going to stop there so then taking this stuff of brightness, I'm just going to point a little, let's wait, let's take a look first and see the difference.
I'm just taking the concealer brush, yeah, I hope you can see the difference, it just adds a little bit of coverage, but without being heavy at all if I add it now to the other side and do the same amount. I like this little applicator because it just gives you the right amount of little dots and then when you blend them in a little bit it just brightens up a little bit. kinda like if you were a full coverage type of person it probably wouldn't be enough coverage for you, but it's supposed to be like a hybrid of makeup and skincare because I think it has skincare benefits.
I couldn't wear this without powder, I don't think I've worn it much on days without makeup, so now that the powder finally got the trigger. Cosmetic Powder Puffs. I finally got sold on Tick Tock, everyone's been talking about these. I'm usually perfectly happy with my Primark powders which look like this, they come in a pack of three and I think they were two pounds or 2.50 and they're very fluffy and soft, and they're not, because you know what some of the cheaper powder puffs almost feel a little rough on the edges and can stab you a little.
These powder puffs from Trigwell Cosmetics are 14 pounds, you get two and they're pretty big, they're definitely a big powder puff and I'm like, guys, I have to say they feel really soft, they're incredibly soft, like that's the Smoothest pop powder you've ever felt. I don't really know if it'll show up on camera, um because I like how dark they are, but it's really soft, like my Primark ones, which are quite soft. This one definitely feels softer, whether it's because I've washed it a few times and this one hasn't, I don't know. but um, but I've seen people using them on Tick Tock and they're like, oh my gosh, it's like it makes my bags under my eyes completely disappear.
I think they are kind of like powders in general if you press powder into your eyes. The truth is that it's all about the lighting and the quality of your phone's camera if you are filming with your iPhone's front camera any area where you don't want to capture the texture if you add a little dust and make that area is matte, then the light doesn't bounce off it and it looks perfectly smooth, whereas if you look at it in real life, yes, it still looks soft, but not as smooth as it appears on camera, so let's see. use the box powder and let's do one eye at a time so I'm going to take a little bit of this and just tap off the excess on the back of my hand oh my gosh yeah pick up a bunch of product oh this powder.
It's actually really nice, I think it leaves a bit of a white cast, so I'm afraid I'd have a flashback, but oh my god, it looks so soft, well, let me get closer, let me get closer, okay? I can see that it's not like I've completely gotten rid of the under-eye bag, but because it eliminates some of the reflection from it, you know, it looks very smooth. I mean, my under eyes don't have the coverage that I would normally like because the concealer I used under my eyes wasn't super full coverage, but I want to say this Powder Puff feels really good, it feels amazing and I love it how fluffy and soft it feels.
In fact, I'm going to use my Primark one on the other side. To see if there's any difference, let's blend those creases again, taking my Primark with the same amount of product and then again, just hitting it under the eyes. I mean, they look pretty much the same, if I'm honest, the Powderpuff has done the exact same thing. Same thing, this one feels a little less soft than the trigger in terms of the softness under my eyes, they both feel the same, so I'm going to fix the rest of my face. She didn't use tons of powder. yesterday, but I'm going to powder a little bit more and then use a spray to bring back some shine and obviously the highlighter as well.
My initial first impression on this is that I really love how soft it is, definitely softer than my cheaper Primark ones, um in terms of the way they apply the powder, they are very similar to the Primark ones, they work just as well, This one feels a little bit softer, the benefit with the trigger ones are obviously a lot bigger, so if you're trying to cover a larger surface area then you know you can cut well. I mean, obviously, don't use them both at the same time. I also like how it is pointed. It can really reach close to the crease of your eye and also another thing is that you're obviously supporting a smaller company.
I really like these and would definitely use them again and yes they are more expensive for a powder puff. but I have to say I haven't actually come across a powder puff that is this big and fluffy, correct me if I'm wrong, do you absolutely need these in your life and will they erase your eye bags? No, realistically, no. but I like them, I think in my excitement for the powder I accidentally got rid of the highlighter in the inner corner, so I'm just going to add a little more of that white shade. I'm taking the shade Exhilarate, oh it just looks.
It looks like a macaroni like I want to eat it. I don't even like macarons that much, it just seems like this packaging is so delicious and she stood out really close to my eye so I'm just taking some. a little bit of this and then kind of like diffusing it and then kind of diffusing it all over my cheek these highlighters are awesome like it's a nice wash of glitter and then on my nose I think it took a little bit let's put a little bit up here normally I don't I would put it on my forehead, but today we are going to do everything we can.
She definitely put a little bit on my cupid's bow, maybe a little bit on my chin, oh my gosh these are stunning, oh it looks so good over the rest of your makeup I almost forgot about my eyebrows, let me feel them um Benefit The wax for eyebrows is almost dry, like an eyebrow soap. I like how my brows feel and look matte, um, so I'm just going to take a little bit of pencil. However, it didn't take too much pencil and just added a little bit of extra color. It also made my eyebrows a little thinner than I usually do, so I'm not going to thicken the tails too much.
I'm also taking a little bit of the four in one spray on things just to give them a little more shine back. This is the part that worries me a little. I don't know what individual lashes they were because I carefully removed them yesterday so I could reuse them. they were just these little ones, you'll be able to see them as little ones, oh um, I don't know where they've gone, I literally can't see them, why did I think that was a good idea, where did they go guys? I'm not even trying to be funny since I actually just lost those eyelashes.
I bet the next time I film I'll find them stuck to something. She took some eyelash glue and put it in a little tray and then dipped each little individual lash into the glue and then I just dropped it on my eyes and I was really blown away by the speed with which she did this, but she she was saying she loves little individual lashes and I think she used them on most people, they make such a subtle difference but they look so natural and kind of blended in with my lashes, bear with me because I've never worn individual lashes before.
I've done like the small groups, but these look a little more complicated. I don't know how he did this so quickly. because it's quite complicated, I'll be right back, so the lashes are on, I think, I hope, and they look so natural compared to a strip of lashes or something, and then on my lips yesterday we used a lip liner and a lipstick worthy. and then a little bit of one of these like glossy balms, this one is almost apricot, that's what I'm going to do with the lipstick and that's my makeup, you know what? I think I've done a pretty good job recreating it.
I'm happy with this, the eyes look so pretty, you know? I'm going to go see if this dust has a flashback and I'll be right back. I just want to sit in a dark room and take pictures, and you know. What I have now is that the flash repeats in my eyes, you know what I mean, I look a little scary in these photos and since I can't really see, I think the dust has a little flashback, but you know what what I thought It was going to be a lot worse because it's like one of those white powder types.
I only used a very small amount and pressed it into my skin and then used the spray. Then there is a little bit of shine underneath. on my eyes I have used the powder, but it is actually not that bad. I have to say that the rest of the skin as well as this makeup looks flawless on camera, so I have new brides looking who want to do their own makeup. To be honest, I'd go for something like this. I love it, I love it, I feel so beautiful and in terms of the products that I tried in this video, the benefit for the eyebrows, I like it, I would definitely use it again.
Oh, and Robert's edit. the eyeshadow palette was really nice. I like that powder. In fact, I'll have to use it more because it made everything look and feel so smooth. The mascara is okay, it's not my favorite. There are two other products in his collection which are the Velvet Cloudes Lip Powder as a powder to cream formula that you can apply with your finger or a brush. I must say I have tried them before cr8, they are not my favorite just because they are quite dry, it almost feels like It's like a pigment lip that you would definitely have to use.
If you have dry lips, you definitely have to put some kindof balm on top, but there is also this which is The Dewy Sticks Luminous Brightening Balm and this one. it's glowing and I'm pretty sure I've tried it before too, it's just a kind of sheer type highlighter like cream highlighter but this type of product is not my favorite type of product to use if you like it. Subtle creamy highlighters and just something that will add a little dewy glow to your skin. We all know how I tend to use cream highlighters, like they're not my favorite, but in case anyone is interested, those are the others. two products that you get in this box and the powder and the eyeshadow palette Solo, I think the eyeshadow palette is usually 22 pounds, the powder is usually 18 pounds, so the rest today is already 50 pounds and the box itself weighs 35 so basically get some free stuff for your money if that makes sense.
I mean, overall it's a really good deal and even if you don't like everything in the box, if you have a friend or something that does, maybe you could split it. with them, the Trigwell powder, I like them, they are very pretty, it is quite an expensive powder, but I will definitely continue using them. Rare beauty highlighters are awesome so I hope you enjoyed this video, if you did please give it a thumbs up if you want to subscribe. I'd love for you to tell me what you think in the comments below and I'll see you in my next video, bye.
