I'm going to cut strips about an inch and a half wide, just using the fabric pattern as a guide, and since these strips are on the longer side, I'm going to spread them out. and I'm also going to cut them in half. These are another one of those items that Dollar Tree started selling that I'm obsessed with and love to use in DIY. I'm going to use a couple of strands of these beads.
I'm going to remove the beads from the thread because it's a very good quality thread and I'm going to use it to make what will be a garland, so I'm going to use the beads that I'm going to add. the wooden stems and I'm going to string everything that we just made onto the fabric, the fun light bulb ornaments and this is going to make a fun rustic foreign Christmas garland. dollar

bins. A great place to look for craft supplies because they are a buck, not a buck. 25 on the back of these, they have these sawtooth hangers that I don't need them for this DIY, so I'm going to remove them. I'll save them and put them in my stash because you never know when they'll come in handy for that rainy day DIY when you need a hook.
Sawtooth Hook Sawtooth Hanger Yeah, for this this is kind of a DIY series that I started. I mean in September I maybe did a fall one. This is a fun decor piece to add to your seasonal decor. I'm going to give you these shadows. boxes, a good coat, well, a light coat, not too thick, a light coat of that rustic red that I'm using just this. I diluted it a little because I want it to act like a wood stain. I love the look of wood. grain, but I like to add color. I don't always have some Minwax on hand to make a stain.
The dye takes a while to dry, so a trick is to thin the acrylic paint a little and you will still get it done. painted look, but the wood grain finish will bleed through, so I'm going to give three of these boxes a good coat of that diluted rustic red of mine and three of the boxes will get a light coat of my wash. rustic green I'm also going to incorporate some chipboard letters, these letters are going to be well covered using some of those Brown chocolate chips that I like so much and a Dabber cake.
I tell you that a Dabber cake is the way to go when making it. I realized this about a month ago. I don't know about you, but when you paint something like these letters, you have the sides, you have paint and it can be kind of a job to do. Using a Dabber Sponge really moves the paint job much faster. These chipboard letters are ones I cut out using my Cricut. I wanted to make them in two different sizes. Chipboard letters are very inexpensive, you can get them for about 50 cents. 99 Cents and I would say 99 cents is on the higher end so I recommend you go to your local craft store and you can probably buy the entire alphabet for less than five

dollar

s and you will get several of each letter for those of you who are new to my channel, I mean three or four things.
I'm talking about the personality of the character, adding dimension to a DIY and texture, so for this DIY I wanted to add some dimension in an

easy

way to add dimension to a DIY. so it's to raise the letters that say on this one that I'm going to place in the shadow box by lifting them out of the Box instead of just gluing the letters inside the Box, it makes all the difference in the world. and then the easiest way to elevate the letters is to use some of those wooden beads from Dollar Tree. This comes in a multi-sized pack, yes, in a multi-sized pack, so just stick them on the back of each of the letters and you're done.
I'm going to add yes Dimension to this shadow box, that's what it's for. This is the part where I convert or try to convert non-sewers into sewers. Look what a difference all the personality you add to these shadow boxes makes. I say just add dots, add lines, add wavy lines, be creative and make it your own, but add that finishing touch because I feel like it takes DIY to the next level, so with this one I'm going to the chunkier side with my sewing because this It's a darker, larger DIY and I really want the seams to stand out.
I find thinning the paint is the easiest way to add seams because I guess it goes on smoother. I feel like some snowflake decorations are needed when I started gluing When I put them up I realized that I should probably glue the boxes because of the location of where I want to place the snowflakes. This is one of those DIYs where you can glue the boxes together or you can just keep them individual and as a set. Place them maybe on a mantel or in your home or on a side table and place them at a different angle and it will give it a really fun festive effect because this is going to be on my mantel and I wanted to add a hanger to it, this is something I could even hang it on the wall.
I'm going to go ahead and glue my boxes together and now I'm ready to add more of those snowflakes that I wanted to place where each of the boxes met the meat, yeah, let's get back to this. DIY I wanted to add a bead hanger, but it's going to serve as a decorative hanger so I need it to stay upright, I guess upright over the boxes, so to do that I thought I'd use some of the thickest floral wire from Dollar Tree is that wire we've seen at Dollar Tree for years that comes in those horrible colors, the fluorescent yellow and the green ones, why they don't have a neutral color I don't understand, but it will work and it will work anyway.
The work is done by simply stringing the beads onto this thicker wire, it will then allow my beads to sit over my shadow boxes, adding more of that rustic feel using these, I guess, raw wood beads from Dollar Tree. stick that wire right there in the back and see where it goes, let's take a look at this DIY.
