health

perspective, that's good to cover, obviously, it's in moderation. I don't want to drink too much, success will always be excessive, too much salt, too much sugar, too much, anything is bad, but in moderation there are things that are really good and whiskey is one of those things. I'm going to play that now. Number one is, of course, one of the health

benefits

of helping fight the common cold. I don't think whiskey cures the common cold, solves it or kills it, but one thing about dr. William Schaffner from Vanderbilt University, he's kind of the president of medical preventive medicine, what he said was that what whiskey can do is actually dilate the blood vessels and what that does is help the body fight infections, so what whiskey has some properties specifically if you put it in a hot toddy or a hot whiskey.

More Interesting Facts About,

There are some other benefits with the vitamin C from lemons and obviously the antioxidant properties of honey and the antibacterial properties, but it's one of those pain relieving benefits. perspective on a common cold, it helps with blood dilation of the blood vessels and helps heal and transport the infection properly throughout the body, it helps a lot, so that's number one, so number two is really very big and that is a logical acid if you don't know what that is that is found in red wine. I guess there is a lot of press in the media about the health benefit.
health benefits of whiskey
You know, longevity in life. Ellagic acid is actually much deeper. a whiskey than a red wine and what that does is basically a micronutrient and it effectively helps the body it's like an antioxidant it helps the body get rid of toxins so it helps the body heal well and so on to number three and That's this which is about killing bacteria, so it's research done by Italian researchers who in the annals of microbiology this is where they published, they basically went and examined our eyes and studied the amount of bacteria found in biology, so if you go at a bar order a cocktail order a drink they put ice there are more than 52 different strains and then more than 30 different species of bacteria that live there and that obviously can make us sick and what they did was take the four most common and then they tested them with different alcohols and drinks, so in the peach tea they tried it with vodka, they tried it with whiskey, they tried it with coke, for example, and in all four cases, the one drink of all of them kills all four of those strains.

It was actually whiskey, so while people say, well, vodka has alcohol, soda, whiskey, that should be it, that's actually not true because, while alcohol kills whiskey and alcohol has between forty and 50 percent ABV, Anthony goes up to the '70s so that alcohol kills, like alcohol and hand sanitizer, for example, so what whiskey has and vodka and other spirits don't They have is that it actually has a very low pH, it has a lot of acidity, so the combination of acidity mixed with the alcohol makes it the number one drink of all for killing bacteria and it eliminated all those strains of bacteria that are in the ice, so again, if you're looking to kill bacteria, whiskey is your man, so move on to number 4 real quick, this one is low carbon. weight loss Well, you know, it goes without saying that whiskey is a pretty tasty drink, especially a good old, aged whiskey.
A couple of drops of water opens it up and it's much tastier than anything you know, from any gin and tonic to any straight vodka. or anything of that nature, it has more flavor because of how it's made and the aging in the barrel, so it's a lot more complex, so it's enjoyable, but the nice thing is that it's low carb and it's very, very good if you look for it. lose weight and of course weight loss has health benefits, as we all know, if you have weight and still want to drink, drink Caribee type sugary drinks with mixers and all that will continually put on the weight if you drink and whiskey meat you are going to lose weight at least you should do it anyway I am not a boiler doctor and none of this is what I am saying today by the way, as a doctor I am given any type of medical advice, this is just me telling you some of the research that I've done and giving you some tips and advice on whether it's a whiskey but you'll lose weight now, moving on to number five, which is reducing stress, pain and anxiety, now that I'm talking. about any of these here, I'm talking about drinking it in moderation, not in high doses, to try to get hit and crush a bottle of whiskey, that's not the purpose of any of this, as far as reducing stress, whiskey or any alcohol.
It's been shown to obviously help at the end of a stressful day or if you're feeling really anxious, whiskey definitely works lower. I want to tell you a story, not long ago I was getting this tattoo and when I did it I got this. I did it right after my dad passed away, my dad passed away, so he's actually a tattoo, he's an eagle and a son with a banner and that's what he had on his arm. He did it in the army. It was a very old school, so I went for it. sort of a more modern version which was the day he was born the day he passed away in October and when I got this I think it was because I can hate our session or something and I had I had my top root so she could get to where I needed to be a tattoo artist and it was quite cold, it was done in Ireland, so it was just that the doors were open, people coming in all the time and they had superpowers.
I'm very cold and after eight hours, if someone has had a long tattoo session, it can get to a situation where you have uncontrollable shaking and that's what happened to me, because it was cold and I couldn't warm up down there. Obviously the long amount is kind of painful, but you know what I say when you undergo a long tattoo session, so luckily I had some whiskey with me. I had a higher proof of new whiskey that I actually took off the stills. Dublin Liberty Dublin Liberty Distillery they gave me another new version of Daryl McNally and I tried it and basically between sessions I couldn't hold it in anymore so I just had a few shots of whiskey and literally in about six or seven minutes I went from being uncontrollably shaken to one that ends .
I didn't feel pain or anything. I just couldn't stop my body from shaking there, just boom, perfect, I sat down, finished the rest of the tattoo and it was no problem. So whiskey does a lot of that and that's why they used it on battlefields in the past when soldiers were cold when soldiers retreated when they were wounded they use it as an antiseptic they also use it to be able to calm the body, so which relieves stress, relieves pain, of course, it's not as good as other pain relievers out there, but it absolutely helps with that and it helps with anxiety, so I'm not prescribing it, but these are some of the benefits of whiskey. and so on until number six, the last one which is longer life, does whiskey prolong life?
Well, here's what was research done by the alcoholism research society and what they did was obviously research heavy drinkers, moderate drinkers and non-drinkers. And believe it or not, this may seem crazy, this was a study and this is the research that came out of it. Moderate drinkers who drank whiskey had longer lifespans than heavy drinkers or non-drinkers. Non-drinkers, obviously, I guess maybe they have more stress in their lives. life because they don't have whiskey to relieve it, heavy drinkers obviously overdo it and damage their organs, but moderate drinkers, so there's a guy, a lady called Grace Jones, incredibly graceful, they call her and she drank whiskey every night. her to adulthood and she lasted until she was 112 and she attributed it to the whiskey, not to say that's the case.
My Nana used to drink a glass of Guinness or a shot of whiskey almost every night of her life, and she lived to be 90, so there's research behind it when you do it moderately because of all these benefits we talk about about acid allergic that enters your system, the fact that it's killing bacteria, you know what it is, it's dilating your blood vessels, all of these things, obviously it's not added in any additional way it's not high in sugar or any of these other properties in different drinks have all of these combined if you drink it in moderation it can obviously help.
I'm not a fan of you. I've been saying that. you should do that or you should do that. I'm just saying that if you're a whiskey drinker or feel guilty about it, these are some things it can help with when done in moderation, and I'm going to drink this in moderation. right now Cheers, please subscribe if you like, we will definitely do more whiskey universities and give us some feedback, tell me what you think.
