1979 Dodge W300 Club Cab Sitting for 13 years | Will it run??

Mar 09, 2024
Pretty hard to get it out this side, so the only way the oil could get there is if you blow through that seal. I have this one. Here that is the type of gasket and it is even worse that the oil is everywhere, as I said, they are all very tight. I earlier took a picture of the hole as close as I could with my camera and then blew it up. and it looks conical, but the cone looks serrated and then just above it, it looks flat, like a joint. I'll take a picture of it again and put it here and let you see what I'm talking about. but you all help me, how am I supposed to know which spark plugs do this?

Is it conical in shape? Is it the board? I don't know, we're draining fluid from the passenger side now. It was blocked. I removed the blade completely and then placed a piece of wire into the hole in the wheel cylinder and there she. coming so now maybe we have brakes, I hope I don't have to hit the brakes on the back of this thing, I have the wrong thermostat, this is the new one, it's a lot smaller, I'm getting to where I don't. like

dodge

again why can't it be like chevrolet? I can go in there and pick any year from '55 to '86 and it'll still be the same part losing daylight, I'm fixing to close it and hopefully we can get some breaks tomorrow, set the thermostat and get this thing to where I have water flow so I can get the bars to leak back to the rear freeze plug and then maybe we can pump up the tires and get this thing out of here, well it's the next day I came back from Ireland and bought the right thermostat and then to do more research on these thermostats, let me explain that in

1979

apparently Chrysler decided to change the diameter of their thermostats, they went from two and a half inches to an eighth of an inch, so now you know, let me put this thermostat on, we'll turn this on, actually , first I think I'll do an oil change, then we'll fire it up to see if those spark plugs fix the mess and we'll leave. it heats up and hopefully it

will

circulate, the bars leak and then we can move on to all the other stuff.

More Interesting Facts About,

Here is your little tip for changing the oil filter. What's missing here, that joint, that joint still on the block. I just noticed it when I got out from under it and bought a new one. Always make sure not to double gasket that filter because it

will

leak. I promise you it will leak. I think I know why the temperature gauge fluctuates. It's loose. It's very loose. So leave it. I press that and we'll see if that indicator works well. We have the thermostat set. I changed the oil. Hopefully I fixed the temperature gauge. I filled it with water.

So I think I'm going to get it going. Let's sit here and run circular warm up those bars are leaking and while you're at it I think I'm going to work on the doors to see if I can get them working like they should, the passenger side door is working at about 75 percent this still wants hanging if you hit it works, close the driver's side door, look, it opened that time. I've had to fight calmly, but let me show you this. This truck has been

sitting

there for an hour. See where? the temperature is at I'm barely getting water flow why I've never seen anyone do this before you know.

The 180 degree thermostat means it will run at about 180 degrees once everything starts flowing. I don't know, it's working pretty well, it still has a little bit. Lady it's most likely the spark plug wires and it accelerates pretty good let me know let me get up there and show you but she's smoking like a freight train that's not good there but maybe if I ever can upload it. temperature, you know maybe some of those things will go away, I don't know, I also have both windows working great now, the bed is nice and clean, let's start with the inside now, well the inside is clean now, it only took me a few 45 minutes.
To do it, everything is off the floor, nothing on the dash, it looks like something where my shifter and let me show you what was inside, I have to go back to get it all in the picture, that's all that was inside. There's five heavy duty ratchet straps a couple of log chains there's a boom uh that old steering wheel said it came off a hiker a couple of hitches two buckets full of stuff I mean that's all the man liked his jump too I found these things inside I thought they were cool, I think an opal goes right there, I had a lot of opals, these aren't Chevrolets, so I guess Ford, I don't know, so I found this, uh, analog. meter, I might try to get it from him because I need a good analog meter anyway.
I think what I'm going to do now is go about 100 meters that way, pump up the tires, and then make another short trip to Mom's house to get the injection back. Take it out and clean the inside, dust off a bunch, then I'll take it on the road to see how it goes and then we could take over my house and give it a bath. I like to put these things. I'm going to start. see if it comes loose so it has brakes uh uh well the good news is it has pretty good brakes bad news the clutch won't come off so I think I'm going to put it in second gear that way and take it I'll take it to Mom's house and I may have to leave it there until I can unlock the clutch.
I probably should have cleaned the windshield because I can't see anything. Yes, he has decent brakes. Look, his clutch just broke, like he was saying before us. They were abruptly interrupted by the phone falling the clutch just let go look there we might be in low gear I don't know this must be the first time I've gotten into this truck I had a little trouble getting my legs on the wheel there's not much here space I thought well, that steering wheel probably doesn't belong here you know, a little too big no, while I was vacuuming it I realized this, they had it kicked back with the two before why I don't know maybe they wanted to feel like they were at home watching TV now that I've vacuumed it I might not get all that dust and dirt in my eyes and I found an additional weight reduction in That floor mat over there that's why I put it back.
Oh, you know, I said we were going to take him for a ride. Well, I changed my mind. Let me show you this tire here. I don't know how well. It will show up on camera, but that's a major crack happening right there. I don't think we're going to go around other than to take him to my house and maybe give him a bath to fix him up now that I got the transfer. case in high gear I have a small clean spot on the windshield I'm probably going to use sandpaper on the rest let's hit the road and go to my house so the mission is a little sloppy it seems I have a low level of grit, that's for sure, well it was fun at about 38 and a half miles an hour, there's something that starts shaking here and then when you take off, I don't know, it feels like the floorboard is moving, maybe someone hit it.
Broken engine mount, not sure, but other than that it worked great, steering was pretty tight. I was surprised by that, I think we should give this dirty thing a good bath, well it looks a little better, yeah, no, we really lost. A little paint on that washed jaw, but that only adds to the patina and I had completely forgotten about this raised white leather tire on the rear. I tell them I love them and I'm going to bring them back one way or another. another one, oh I guess it looks a little better, you can see out the windows anyway, damn, look at that, wait, just a minute, fixed again anyway, oh you know what I totally forgot Well, two things, one, there are no more water leaks.
The leak is impressive and I completely forgot to check if the winch works, so let me take the cable out and we'll check it real quick. I connected it. I removed the cover. Look, it's a Mopar winch. I don't know there was such a thing, what does that mean that it adds about 25? I'll take it, I press the button, it'll go one direction, it just clicks the other, so I'll have to take it apart and check it, sometimes I see what it is. passing by and I also noticed while I was washing it that it has a sliding rear window.
I didn't know and I completely forgot. Look at this pipe here that used to be the exhaust. I bought it from them and they said they had it. stray pipe running there, she cut it up and put mufflers on it because she said it was too loud, well I'm curious and I think at some point or another we'll see what it sounds like coming out of those stacks, oh girl, she you know, she's a little tough, the steering is really cool but there's something loose I don't know omg what are they shooting there anyway there's something loose I don't know if it's an engine mount transmission mount transfer I don't know maybe the body is loose but something is moving and it feels like the floorboard is flexing and we'll have to check that too and it's running pretty bad so it's going to need some spark plug wires, maybe a cap, I don't know, I just have I have to go into it and at some point also see the guy I bought it from.
I've known him for

years

and

years

and he said he has three more Dodge trucks, another one ton dooley like this one, I think it's just a regular cab, though he said. had the dump bed and I can have it if I want it so we can change the dump bed sometime on this old truck well that will do for this episode we have another one on the road what about the road but she is running, look for more of this here because we'll be doing more with it anyway, I appreciate everyone watching it, if you don't mind, hit like, comment, subscribe, share the video with your friends, hit the notification bell. and until next time go do something you like
