so he's at the end, he's about to shoot the shark and Hooper is trying to tie the thing up. He was waiting for him, so he called him Hooper. I'm always waiting for Hooper. The Porsche 928 is considered a luxury grand tourer manufactured between 1978 and 1995. and has the distinction of being the

model with a front mounted water cooled v8 engine, this is a 1988-928s4 which has a single overhead camshaft 5-liter four-valve single head that produces 316 horsepower and a 50 front-to-rear weight distribution. Although it weighs approximately 3,500 pounds, it is still quite agile and is also a manual, making it very desirable when we convinced the owner to let him go, it was spring and the snow had melted.

I met up with the guys from North American Motor Car to load up. Up to 928 after signing some paperwork as Namc would be the new owner of the car after I clean it all up. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Once inside and under the studio lights, you can see that this is a total disaster, I mean. covered in mold, moss, leaves of dirt and a lot of black stuff that covered al

I checked the online gauge to be 100 percent sure and then went to town, so for step number one, I enjoyed the

done. The before and after are shocking. Next thing I opened the hood and blew out the acorn and mouse webs. out of every pocket before Ted begins the repair in a few weeks. Remember Ted can fix anything, including a 91 year old doodlebug that was in the woods for

years

before he started and I got him out. Now click the link above if you haven't seen the video of an absolutely amazing transformation.

Anyway, you can see that the mice lived at the top of the collector, so we had a little work to do below. Look at this. I found one of the many houses in this. I'm sure I'll find a car, but this one is pretty interesting if you look here, they've clearly been living here, you see the brown color, meaning peeing, pooping, that kind of thing, but at the same time it's like they're having . a snack while they're in bed, if you look up when the hood goes down, obviously those two areas cover here, so they're probably over here looking up chewing on a little bit of the cushion, I think it's pretty interesting I'm sure.

To find more houses next, I wanted to see what the landing gear looked like. If the top of the engine looked pretty bad, I can only imagine what it looked like underneath, but first I opened the nuts with the Porsche wrench so I could loosen the bolts. To remove the wheels later, I mixed Boost Brute and Titan in the skimmer to help release as much as I could during the 20 minute dwell time. Obviously the goal here is to just let the cleaner do its job while I finish removing the wheels and then. Of course, raising the car to its full height to clean and inspect the underside, so I just raised the car and I'm making some food taking a little snack break here and I've got a big light back there, you can see, so You can see below, you know, below here, if you can see right over here, I'm going to rotate the camera so you can see it.
Let's see if I can zoom in. There are a lot of yellow dots here. Do you see them well? that's urine, the urine is dripping because I can smell it, but it's not grease, it's urine from above, that means I have to remove this whole piece from here and bring it down and we're going to find some interesting things, but anyway, smelling something of food, I thought: uh, I smell urine, what is that? And then, sure enough, I came here. Urine drops. This is absolutely

disgusting

in this process to have a little more access to the bottom of the engine.
I removed the front plastics, revealing a bunch more leaves, some bug houses and a renewed smell of urine, it's all urine. My first step here is to just wet it with Titan degreaser, then let it soak for a few minutes and then hit it with brute wheel soap to get it out of the foam, my goal is obviously to make it a little safer, a little cleaner and I guess it's less annoying to work on if you were a mechanic like Ted that's officially gross after my big scrubbing I rinsed it one more time and covered my floors with

years

of trapped dirt leaves grease and whatever this is I think a squirrel probably took it up to the suspension, but it was pretty wild to see this stuck there after a quick blast with the compressor, the landing gear wasn't ready for the pebble beach, but at the same time you wouldn't be covered in urine either, so which I considered it a victory with the car now down.
I repeated the same steps on the top and motor, lots of suds, lots of agitation with the microfiber towels, straight edge seam brushes, and a round emblem. brushes just to remove the years of mold and dirt then I cleaned the oily bottom pan with a degreaser that the wheels in the wheel bracket. Now take a closer look at the wheels. They are completely torn and need finishing, but I gave them to them. A quick clean and they came back better than I expected Once everything was washed, rinsed and dried, there were a lot of stubborn areas of mold embedded in the surface of the paint that couldn't be removed with basic agitation, now check this out.
This is a concept called pinching. What happens is that the paint heats up and shrinks and heats up and shrinks a thousand times over its lifetime. This particular one has been outside for 10 years and if it is outside it will be very hot, very cold. Hot, very cold, what does that mean? What happens is that you can see here. I can't remove the rest of the mold. I've washed it, I've scrubbed it, I've beaten it badly. I have done everything I could. it doesn't release it, so I called Kevin and we talked about this concept called pinching, when it heats up and there's dirt on it, it falls down and then of course when it cools and it does this process a hundred times more than the dirt. it falls deeper and deeper into the paint metaphorically speaking, so what we have to do in this case is heat it up so we can open those pores where there's dirt underneath, you open those pores and then I can go in there with a towel and it cleans up easily, like this that I said, "Okay, let's try this process." In this case, I'm using the steamer to steam it.
You've come to a small point now. I just noticed that it is a thousand times easier to clean. I just opened those pores like on your skin, as soon as you open them, boom, you can wipe it with a microfiber towel, it comes off easily, I want to do this now so that when I'm preparing the compound later, all that residue won't No I get stuck on the pad, so keep that in mind, now that most of the outside mold is gone, I focused on the inside mold. The first step is to remove everything from the inside and do some research while I do my initial vacuuming, although it is dirty and definitely

moldy

, it is actually not in bad shape, which means that physically it feels fine, which is really great news for the new home, that's where I lost my teeth.
My specific technique on this interior was to first quickly heat the seat with steam foam and then shake. with my small interior dual density brush and then just pick it up with a microfiber towel, as you can see I didn't use the steam and foam together because the seats just weren't as bad as the oily Gmc van that required more force to clean it, my point is that you use only what is needed and no more, less is more during a conservation detail, when I was done I followed up with compressed air to speed up the drying process and remove the last remains that I may have dislodged during cleaning The passenger side rear cushion was worse than all the others, so I removed it and put it on the workbench so I could clean it a little better.
I repeated the same steps on the rest of the interior, the doors and door frames. They were a complete mess now look at this the 928 door sill sign had a bunch of brown debris stuck to all the edges so I gently lifted it up with my hand and used the pressure of the steamer to remove all the debris. You can also see that the plastic was clearly broken years ago, but at least it looks a thousand times cleaner than before. I repeated the same steps on the door and also on the passenger side seat. Now the trunk was a completely different story.
I couldn't just screw it up. a pressure washer so I had to use the aerator and anti-salt foam to spray it in there and then pick up the dirt and mold without soaking all the sensitive parts with water in the trunk afterwards just to kill some time. I went back to scrubbing the calipers and suspension and need a little more work until my latest version of the steam vacuum arrived in the mail to steam clean the carpets and of course the mats that I had previously removed from the car with the car . Now cleaned but not polished, I reinstalled the wheels because outside I finally received my dr goop flooring product in the mail so the dr goop team and I pushed the car outside to redo the floor for the fourth time.
Yes, you heard that correctly if you have. I haven't kept up with my flat debacle, it's been a soap opera to say the least, but the failures that have occurred over the last few weeks have been absolutely astonishing, so to make a long story short, the builders were unable to fit reinforcing bars. The original concrete was ported, so when I drove on the floor it went up and down like a water bed, as you can see in these pictures, the pieces of concrete that they cut later did not have rebar, so it's like pour concrete. on the ground in an open field you have nothing to secure yourself to.
I can't fix this so this time they installed reed bar, poured concrete and then I called Dr. Goop himself to make sure my floor covering was perfect. This last time I will do it. He'll have a full video coming up on the studio channel if you want to see the step-by-step process for his garage floor, but here's about a week's worth of work in 30 seconds. First, we taped up my cabinets and installed thick cardboard to protect. the finish on the second round of the flooring installation above dented and dented my cabinets in the process which wasn't good as I mentioned it's actually a DIY product but since my floors are a mess with so many different layers that needed to be scraped off, I just called the professionals to show me the process step by step.
First I scraped off the small pieces of clear bra that were stuck to the floor during the last few weeks of work and then I lifted up the old coating, which is a lot. More annoying than it sounds before I sand all the cracks with a sander, scrape the floor again, chase the cracks with another saw, make stress-relieving cuts in each elevator opening with my trusty broom handle, then vacuum and sweep Like there's no tomorrow, oh yeah, then we scrape. again and vacuumed again before mixing the special dr goop juice, filling the cracks by hand, running the moisture tolerant primer all over the garage, then mixed the metallic gray with the drill and rolled it across the floor as a base color , then the top coat is added for slip resistance and an amazing squeegee pattern when finished, my floors look like a mural and are incredibly strong.
I'll have a lot more information on the studio channel and my specific colors and information are in the description below in about a week. Later, I popped the 928 back in and started the paint buffing process with a McGuire red foam pad. The before and after are absolutely huge on both the paint and the pad, so it's okay when you apply compound to your pad, this is an exorbitant amount. too suitable for normal polishing, but in this case, because so much residue comes off, it has to be filled somewhere, obviously the combination of the pad and the liquid, in this case the compound, there has to be enough to hold it .
That is, if you are plowing the driveway, the plow can only push so much, so what you need to do is take smaller bites of the driveway or get a larger plow. In this case, I put more liquids, so I'm going to make it bigger. plow so it can push out more residue, I hope that makes sense, but here we go, this takes forever, but it's like, I mean, look at me, I'm covered in this stuff, but it looks like a million, I mean, it looks like a mark. There's a new bag of paint there, I'm really excited on the ceiling, the steam could only lift some of the mold and grime so I needed to add even more heat and mechanical agitation with the red pad.
Now the downside is that the pad is going to fill up. with residue faster and will probably need to be replaced faster, so keep that in mind if you use this technique now, this is where it gets super interesting after removing the mold or sap from the tree, you cansee the pinches I mentioned earlier under magnification, look at the indentations. that were created over time now we just clean those indentations with the red pad, but to eliminate those indentations or the valleys as we call them, you will have to level or sand the paint now because the paint is old and because it is very thin.
I'm not going to do that here later because of the amount of waste and mess from the compounding process. I had to quickly wash the car again to clean the dead paint from the surface. Once everything was dry, I touched up the paint with my needle and syringe and made an easily avoidable mistake. Well, I'm behind the camera. I've been touching up the areas a little bit here, it's not a big deal, but I used the syringe and the needle and what I did was forget to hit them. you know, click like this and then blow out a little bit to get the air out and when you do that or let me tell you don't do that, you make a silly mistake like this, you can see those little air bubbles in It's pretty easy where I can go in and erase this.I shut down and started again, but it was a bit of a silly mistake.
You should have slowed down a little and hit it, squirted a little, released the air and that's it, so make sure you keep that in mind. Finally, I did one last vacuum and installed Matt's back seat mats which needed a little more love, the owner's manual and other valuables before adding moisturizing mousse to the seats and trimming, all good buddy then you can stop, we're done, princess, done. princess all made to be super clear this is not to add shine although it will have shine during the application process this is to add moisture and protection to a dry or worn surface now after a few minutes remove the excess material and the surface will return to a matte finish on the paint, I added reflex pro to protect the surface now that I removed the dead layer of skin which actually looked pretty terrible but at the same time it protected the good paint underneath like a windbreaker so I added the protection once Taking off this old jacket is an important step to minimize future rust, since tomorrow will be pickup day.
I added a mud coat to the trim and tires and dutifully cleaned the glass with a squeegee before the bed arrived. Well, guys, we're done. the 928 and the thing looks absolutely amazing, believe it or not, it's actually white underneath all the green mold and black sap. I don't even know what was on the card but once you get under all that it actually looks spectacular and the paint is very high quality so I love these single stage paints. I think the 928s will be popular again because I mean, look at this, it's absolutely amazing again, the wheels are worn out as you can see and back here, just take a look.
In that I brought the 964 d90s design from the 90s and I wanted to try it on, it didn't look that good, but I'm falling in love with this car and adjusting it how the cans would look. let's change the wheels, that's the exciting part of finding these cars and bringing them back. Someone texted me on Instagram and told me it was the Larry Look Back reunion because I'm constantly looking at the car when you're leaving, so I thought. That was a smart thing in that sense because I think they're coming back strong. This car is owned by North American Motor Car.
I'll put the link below. It is on sale. But I'm sure people are already freaking out. and texting me, so it's a huge privilege for me to be able to make a car like this, find it, bring it back to life and hopefully get it back on the road with the new owner, that's very important to me, an episode as exciting as ever. Guys, thanks for watching and I'll talk to you very soon. Oh yes, oh my gosh, amazing. Hey guys, I want to give you a quick update on the car detailing simulator. It looks absolutely spectacular, especially with the new ammo studio and supercar DLC. which will be available in April 2022 on Steam, be sure to click the link in the description to start playing.
