Skillshare is a learning community with thousands of classes for creators exploring new skills, deepening existing passions, and simply getting lost in creativity, but Kyle, there's no class for me, how does this relate to coffee? Oh, let me show you, you see, right now. I'm immersed in a class called Latte Art Masterclass from World of Latte Art. Yes, there are many coffee classes on Skillshare. This class is teaching me different skills, like how to create fun art, like butterflies, roosters, elephants, and even a love tree at sunset. It guarantees hours and hours of passion and learning about coffee.

So easy that Presto has been creating some fantastic grinders from Taiwan that rival many of the best grinders on the market for a fraction of the price. It's wonderful to see and I think innovation like this can really drive an industry forward. Manufacturers are discouraged. Areas to continue innovating and advancing grinders like the JX and K Plus have attracted attention and earned reviews since their launch. Easypresso recently decided to update the JX and added the professional model for more adjustment options; We have only seen the popularity of this grinder grow. Espresso enthusiasts have loved it. Both grinders were fantastic for filter coffee with pretty good

espresso

capacity too and this is where the J-Max fits in.

Not only does it promise the ability to make filtered coffee but it also makes wonderful

espresso

. This is where the grinder is. The espresso really shines. You see, the j-max shares the big brother k-series adjustment system with the external adjustment dial with its really satisfying clicks and ease of use without having to remove the dose cup. The jmax uses 10 clicks per number with a total. 90 clicks per spin which is absolutely insane and to make things more specific and lean nerdy in coffee sweats, you'll like this one. Each click has a setting of 8.8 microns, giving the Jmax one of the most flexible settings for a manual espresso grinder.
It's a dream to get as close as possible to being continuous on a step grinder. Does it sound expensive? Well, the g-max costs $199, but the build quality is on par with any other manual grinder and outperforms other manual grinders by a lot more. expensive which ranges much higher than their price range now they have also added the magnetic k dose cup which turns on and off without having to screw the grind chamber in, this is really great for a quick workflow although if not Be careful, it can create a Terrible mess, now the J-Max also uses a texture material similar to the K series synthetic wood veneer on the center

hand

le.
Now it's not exactly the same as the k series, it uses a rubbery texture and I actually like it a lot better. than the traditional j series material with its tough looking brand options on the smooth black rubber, they didn't look bad but in my opinion they weren't photogenic either, speaking of design, they added a Chinese zodiac symbol for the auxiliary year instead from the traditional easypresso logo, the body is a darker space gray color than the typical silver aluminum of the j series and I'm also looking into that step up overall from the j series, but I'd love to know what you think about the aesthetics .
About this grinder in the comments below, but what you really want to know is how it grinds coffee, so let's talk about the burst set and workflow and start with the burrs. The max has a 48 millimeter conical burst that has been redesigned from the jx models. Not only are they coated in titanium for added durability against extensive espresso grinding, but they also have a slightly updated geometry that focuses more on the espresso than in its filtered coffee capabilities. The result is a grind that produces a little more fines than its bigger brothers with more complex flavor profiles and a little less clarity in which the jx really stood out now, as I said today, we're not going to sift the j-max because I want to engage this grinder in a comparison with others on the market to see how it compares in consistency but easypresso has confirmed that this burr will create finer than the other j series grinders and in testing this appears to be true but hardly true .
When comparing the taste, the j series may be almost indistinguishable from their other j series grinders, but there is a slight noticeable difference in the sweetness it produces, but at the sacrifice of some clarity in the cup, it is seen that the Espresso grinders often aim to create a profile that is sweet and sometimes complex, especially conical burr espresso grinders and the J-Max is doing just that to get the results. They are excellent espresso with good clarity and wonderful sweetness, honestly it is very difficult for me to differentiate them from the GX for espresso. They are both great, especially for their price, but the jx and jx pro don't have the adjustability that the jmex has.
That said, they are my preferred grinder for filter coffee for a few reasons, so let's talk about that if you buy this grinder, the Jmax won't be for filter coffee, it will be for espresso, that doesn't mean that's the case. It cannot replace the need to filter or grind filtered coffee when needed, so it has the ability to do so and may be a hybrid grinder like the GX Pro, but the JX Pro does not offer the small adjustments that the JMAX does and sometimes I found myself wanting a grind setting between two settings to finally tune a shot to the next level.
The gmax is the easy choice for an espresso grinder, but for filter coffee it gets a little harder to decide while I love it. the adjustability of the maximum sometimes too much of a good thing can be a bad thing and I think too many clicks for filter coffee can be so frustrating that the adjustments between 8.8 microns in filter coffee are almost impossible to distinguish if you think you can , you must Be Lance Hedrick because I can't tell where you're going, and I say you're doing the Michael Jackson. Shout out to my boy Lance, an absolutely incredible YouTuber and an incredible human being, if you're not subscribed to his channel, does he have it? amazing coffee content ok back to the review but more than an unnecessary amount of clicks for the filter unlike the k series the full range is not just done in one rotation but in multiples to get to the espresso , you have to go through one and a half to two full rotations before you have a usable grind and for the filter you're talking about three to five full rotations and that gets confusing without a real way to mark what rotation you're on or know if you're on espresso or in the filter range.
It's really too good a thing here. I've heard people complain about the lack of common Dante numbers and the inability to know which click you are on, you often have to reset to zero to count clicks. Now I think the jmax takes here to another level with the common dante you have to reset normally 20 to 35 clicks max but the j-max is more like 270 clicks but maybe this is a necessary evil with the espresso and the J-Max is a first-class espresso grinder. It doesn't claim to be a jack of all trades, but rather a master of one, and I applaud Easy Presto for not marketing it as such.
They market it as a first espresso grinder, so you should get Easypresso's JX or JX Pro grinders. the tried and true, or should you get the newest jmex grinder from Easy Press, spend a little more to get the latest and greatest, I really think this depends on your situation if you need ground espresso more than a filter and want it. maximum adjustability, the j-max is an easy buy, but if you use manual grinders for drip coffee more often than espresso and want the ease of knowing where the grind setting is and not having to rotate hundreds and hundreds of clicks to change. methods, my recommendation would be the jx or the jx pro, although if you want the best of both maybe you should consider the k series, but more on that in the future, how about you?
What do you think of jmax? Do you like the adjustment system? and fine-tuning capabilities or prefer to focus on filter coffee. Do you like the updated styling of the jmax or do you expect to see this on future easypresso models? Is this your first time learning about the brand? Easy Presto, let me know. all this and more in the comments below, that's where I'll be now before you leave.
