kentucky

on campus and i knew you know there are rumors being shared a lot about racism in the south and what people how will people respond there are um you know there has been something of ugliness that has been brewing in our country in recent years that makes you aware that racism is still alive and I was afraid of what that would look like for my daughter in 2022 you always hope you are not part of a story like this the lawyer of sophia rosing says that she is a little humiliated, ashamed and sorry for this incident what do you say to that i say that there is an opportunity for growth in this situation and i also say that this is an opportunity not only for her to grow and educate herself but also for people who might have acted or thought similarly to her. you know to come the next day even to see how you are um it hurts but i'm not surprised you know there's another video in this story not only of the attack but of a march on campus in support of you where you spoke it's a very powerful moment you say she it won't break your spirit and there are tears running down your face we have a little clip of it say my name is kyla

spring

yeah yeah um take us to that moment yeah take us to that moment because what was coming through your head at that point in your sweetheart it seems but at that moment i felt so much a part of something bigger than myself um i told myself i wasn't going to cry you know i was on the campus bus and i was like okay i've written what I mean, I know what I have to do and then I hear the roar of young people my age who are so excited behind me and because of this on campus it was like I started crying and felt a little weak in the knees and It was an amazing experience to see so many people rooting for Carla this hurts this hurts this is so painful it's so painful to watch I hope it's painful for people who aren't of color to know that you had to go through that as a freshman how it has changed you i am not even going to say if it has changed you i know i would assume it has changed how it has changed you it has changed my point of view on how often situations like this occur.

More Interesting Facts About,

university of kentucky student kylah spring on viral video of racist attack on campus...

Obviously, I've seen stuff like this on the news and heard about it. kind of an um an eye opening moment for me to wake up and really realize what is happening in our country to um little children of color to people of color um it has changed you you look like a young woman with standards and integrity and your mother raised you well you know how to react or not react at that point and i'm not trying to encourage violence at all but there's some people back home maybe some niggas watching this saying why turn the other cheek why we always gotta take that High Roll you have someone yelling racist things you hit, kick and bite, there might be some people watching saying why you didn't fight back, I would tell that person and those people that you can fight back and and and but not with violence, love is a proper way of fight back, respect honor and Grace is also fighting back so she's not leaning in a weak way, she's leaning in a way that honors who you are and the truth and integrity that you are a character and who God created you to be and what which I also like about the fact that this happened as terrible as it actually happens more often than a violent response to racism and sadly there aren't enough videos of the correct response. and what I'm thankful for is that my daughter has girded herself with truth and honor and Grace and integrity.
