Ultimate Shootout 003 | Harrison Frye vs. Andrew Wyatt - Match 1

Jun 07, 2021
uh and trying to figure out how to evaluate each other in gunfights and see what works for them and also having a little nerves out here, it's still early in the morning so it's not that hot yet, but points. you can score incredibly fast in this format absolutely the three buzzers are a bright orange bonus buzzer this time to that dorito side of the field the d side so Harrison is going to go over there and they're going to cut him off yeah so Wyatt came out to a dead zone. On this side of the car wash he was crossing and there is a good lane to cross, so Harrison just ran back into his lane, it's a smart escape after everyone comes back to the center at each point, well if you're a guy like Harrison I guess , and he's been playing this format, he's been practicing this at home, so it's probably now when he's going to have to handle the mental side of the game.

They shoot you a few times and he has the magazines hooked to him. He just got shot in a move. You have to stay focused. These can be long

match

es here if you just go. blow for blow back and forth, but it's a lot of individual

shootout

s, so you have to win if you're going to try to do it that way, but so far, back and forth here, the score is now three to two with Andrew Wyatt, uh, slight advantage here. The loser against Harrison Frye though, I absolutely think the reason this comes and goes early is that there's no pressure on anyone yet to make big mistakes, you're not playing from behind or with a lead and they're not that close to 20 For that.

More Interesting Facts About,

ultimate shootout 003 harrison frye vs andrew wyatt match 1...

You're forced to think, "Oh, I'm going to run into a bell and maybe a reckless bell, so right now you see a lot of

shootout

s, yeah, and again you're going to be coaching Chad Boucher in his battle against nick sloviak and also cody mikowski in his battle against fred berkley here in the quarterfinals, so I want to pick your brain about strategy, but strategy is definitely a little bit later in the second half of a battle. here it becomes a mathematical equation, yeah so it's a bonus blue bell this time towards the car wash Wyatt again and Harrison Fry on top looks like dominance yeah dominant weapon here Wyatt trying to come out with a right hand he's gonna move out like

harrison

takes the big bite, he's going to hit the bonus blue buzzer, this is a big moment for

harrison

and it looks like Harrison might have cut it too, but I think Wyatt was able to get that orange buzzer, so now the point is starting to be scored .
ultimate shootout 003 harrison frye vs andrew wyatt match 1
Here yeah, that was good about Harrison Man. It's one of those things if you can get that buzzer first and aim your gun. Many people run to try to counter that bell. You get that advantage in the gunfight. Get in the lane and catch them with a good ball, you'll come out with a you know, the gill streak committed by Harrison Fry right now, yeah, Harrison Frye, uh, putting I think five points up, rang the bonus buzzer, I think He killed Wyatt. I think Wyatt pressed the orange doorbell, but I couldn't see if Harrison shot Andrew Wyatt while he was ringing the doorbell right before the bell.
ultimate shootout 003 harrison frye vs andrew wyatt match 1
It's hard to tell so the score is seven to three streaks with no kills committed is what 20 seconds tells us so harrison here still with uh no it's not a commanding lead uh a four point lead in this format can potentially be negated very quickly here a blue bonus buzzer so

andrew

white again he's on the blue harrison

frye

on the orange looks like he's immediately going for the bonus buzzer

andrew

wyatt

shot from above here trying to shoot that lane yeah there's a can on the road so they're actually playing each other but on the outside of this center can so Harrison with the lead here is content to just sit in the backfield and just protect that extra buzzer but it looks like he cut to Wyatt, so now we're going to have a committed killing streak, yeah. so eight to three is the five point lead score here for harrison

frye

with a killstreak activated, so now everything we said about the killstreak now applies except the score is even worse, pro here for harrison fry and worse for andrew

wyatt

and This kind of thing starts to get complicated for Wyatt.
This is a big separation and the sooner you get to 10, I think 10 is the number in my mind where things start to get a little scary for a player when you're. playing from behind, what we will be able to hear from both competitors is that Lauren Kelly will interview As soon as a player reaches 10 points, we will listen to those players, so I'm always glad we added that to listen to a competitor in the middle of the

match

to try to get his opinion on what works for him, what isn't blue, so the blue bonus buzzer rings again here on the car wash side of the field, but both players are prepared to shoot at the opposite direction so they whip their guns over here and still in that back center, that's oh, but then Harrison loses his kill streak and that was a big moment for Andrew Wyatt, we saw it in the

ultimate

shootouts one and two before, that this is the moment. sometimes guys break is when the opponent has a kill streak or fixes the kill streak and then scores those four points and then once every kill after that is just another four points, yeah I really liked it, You know, Harrison, it seemed like he knew the strategic game of trying to play it safe, protecting his kill streak, but Wyatt didn't bother?
He did the same thing, he sat there and just played a one-on-one shootout, you win the fight and that's it even now yeah, so yeah, that's definitely the case if you hit that bonus buzzer for four points and that's nothing, that's a buzzer, it's really this bonus buzzer and now you have a kill, you get another kill here, your kill streak will activate. These are some multiple come from behind wins absolutely Matt Jackson the champion in the first one had to come from behind uh that's part of it here you know everyone has a little bit of a chance to hit as long as you keep your head . in the game and you have the stamina to do it, it seems like why he's going to move from the break, he's going to maybe come out to this blind spot and shoot again through the black bonus buzzer in the middle of the field, but Wyatt he immediately wastes the opportunity to get that second kill as Harrison 5 swings his gun and gets another quick one here which, in my opinion, is Harrison's first ball kill that was on him for Harrison.
Harrison Frye is not a guy known for his fast break shooting. He usually runs away somewhere, uh, I don't know, but he trains like crazy, so, uh, but he's still young and agile and his knees from his paintball career still work, so he's not a guy. which you will normally have starting from the back. center yet, but that was a beautiful display of off-the-break shooting capabilities for Harrison Frye, which brought his score to nine. Andrew Wyatt still needs to make up some ground here, yeah you know the separation isn't too much. but as we get closer to 20, he starts to look a little scarier as the guy who plays from behind. 20 seconds, yeah, so 20 seconds left to find out where the bonus buzzer is.
Will it be black orange blue black in the center? orange to that side d and next to the car look how the blue bell looks like it's going to be black again many center bonus bells here this is a random draw so here we go this is the strategy not much ground has been taken away from the break and That's a pretty solid strategy, but Wyatt immediately goes to cut inside. I lost it, yeah, Harrison has no idea why. He would be patient here. He lets him make a mistake. Harrison is. I know Wyatt is sure he's been lost because he's got The bunker hasn't been fired, yeah, and he's not firing his gun and when you feel like your opponent's lost you, this is the goat and now he'll know, but he uses to cross, has the opportunity to do so, oh, but it comes. turned into a ball, all he had to do was bend over a little bit and he could have gotten that blue buzzer, but you know, he just jumped over the top right there and that cost him four, yeah, so let's have our halftime now Harrison is going to come in with a big lead and with Killstreak committed, yeah, so Lauren Kelly will interview the two competitors here and as they prepare to go before we have that interview in Harrison Frye definitely with the lead right now ten to four it's the score i think with the kill streak on so yeah let's talk to lauren kelly since she's down with these competitors again harrison frye with a lead over andrew wyatt 10 to go for harrison frye harrison you look good I've had a couple of committed kill streaks, haven't managed to get one yet, but how do you feel?
You feel good? You feel good? It's hot in here but I'm warming up so, oh, okay, is this a plan exactly like you thought it would be? it plays out uh it never does honestly it never plays like you how you want it to be right we're all professionals here like he's going to do something I'm not going to expect but you know you gotta counter him counter counter yeah , well, you're I haven't won yet, let me pass that microphone to Andrew Andrew. You're a little down right now, but you've got plenty of time, so going into the next half, how are you feeling?
I feel good. I'm going to stop making movements. Although you know, Harrison feels like a camper, I think maybe he shot me once while I was there or why he was taking a risk other than he just got back there so I don't know how he's warming up if he hasn't . He was moved, oh well, he said the last time your team won, uh, infamous, it was a courtesy victory, so he's not going to like that we had more buzzers. He also keeps in mind that it was a courtesy victory, but the real criticism is when you come to shake hands at the end. and it took an hour to do that so i was looking at his wounds oh man okay the drama is heating up good luck in the second half clean it up maddie yeah i mean 10 to 4 right now , as well as that interview. was going on, ryan, our final referee, clint johnson, we were discussing how big a wasted opportunity wyatt had, all he had to do was ring the blue bell instead of just, hey, take a chance, go and ring the doorbell, decided to blow it up. top harrison had to fall on him and that cost him three points yeah and there are plenty of places you can ring the bell it's locked on this side of the car wash I could have hit him and lived pretty easily jumping into this next battle here. both in the back center is a little calm with his dominant weapon on Harrison and he caught him oh that was a beautiful dominant weapon that took him out again every time Wyatt needs to search and kill he's been doing that to cancel streaks of Harrison kills and keeps it close enough because as we talked about, I mean, you can see seven points scored in a round, you can hit and we saw Bj Hanninberg hit three buzzers in a round, I mean, it's absolutely possible, we've already done it. seen.
That was just in the first couple of

ultimate

shootouts, so as long as Wyatt stays focused and hopefully has the stamina for a long battle, it's still a little early in the morning, so it's not as hot as it will be this week. . In the afternoon it will be 100 degrees out here, but the most impressive thing is why both times Harrison is on such a killing streak. White stayed in the center back, remained composed and won a shootout. You know, it's one of those things he did. I didn't play with it, I didn't try to do too much, I just got him off that killing streak, yeah that was again just a big gun fight there and I love the way he became dominant with the guns.
Harrison had no response and was cut off trying to struggle. his own shootout, so we'll see if Wyatt can keep the momentum up here, he's down by five points, ten to five is the score and now on the break, a little bit of ground taking for Harrison Wyatt, he's going to be dominant righty again with weapons. trying to keep Harrison away from that blue buzzer, yeah I think Harrison has the advantage right now. Harrison will go straight for it. If he gets cut off, though he will ring the bell. Let the referee sort it out. He looks like he's clean.
It could have had a doorman. this is a big time right now for harrison ryan he was the favorite if harrison loses to andrew wyatt that's not a good look for him and but he's in a really powerful position right now four points up he'll get another Potentially as it dives, did they devour it before hearing the doorbell? He's going to try to sell it. I thought he had made it. It's a seven-point round that puts him at 17 points. Wow, and to me that is a very, very bad situation for Wyatt. You know, if I were a gambler I wouldn't be, I wouldn't take bets on Wyatt for much of anything, it's just one of these situations where all Harrison has to do now is ring any bell on the field and this game is over.
It was a great moment for Harrison Frye, since you know Andrew Wyatt and you have to fill your opponent well.I mean, we talked about them doing that at the beginning, what are their tendencies? Wyatt initially became dominant with the weapon to start the round. Harrison, it's okay. I'm going to take a little risk, take a little bit of ground towards that blue bonus buzzer and then I timed it perfectly, it made a big bite and then it bounced off, so luck is obviously always a factor in the game of paintball um , but he let the referee figure it out, he controlled himself from making that foul, he hit the bonus buzzer and then he just kept it going, like we said, he was in a powerful position, he could start racking up the score and it continues . because in the center he takes a risk there and he was also able to get it, now a point for andrew wyatt with the death, but right now six to 17, I mean, if I'm harrison, I'm going down a couple of times you know that all you have to do it's ring the bell once if you get shot a couple of times who cares and again that's when the strategy is a lot more oh and harrison although they cut it so wyatt is doing a good job getting his kills and now he's on a touchdown, so you know, look Wyatt, we had competitors that we're trying, look man, we're in the pandemic world, we're trying to get guys here and keep it as safe as possible, but Wyatt was. a substitution, you know he got the call and he lives in Arkansas, so he made the five hour drive here and, but his shootouts look very sharp, it's just that Harrison is using his aggression a little better and getting the kill when he needs to correct, yeah, and I'm not sure what happened there, I think.
It looks like potentially Harrison wasn't airbrushed or I'm not sure if he was shot, he wasn't airbrushed, so it's tough, especially when you let Wyatt go for the kill and hitting Gage could dig his way in. Back there, yes, now with that kill streak activated, the next kill Wyatt gets will give him four points. You will get the three points for the kill streak. You'll get your point for that actual kill and this is how we saw it in ultimate shootout one. and two, this is how you can start another way to score a lot of points pretty quickly here, you just need to win a shootout, I kill Wyatt here and we're looking at 16 to 17.
Yeah, and Wyatt still goes, Wyatt still goes. pretty good dominant weapon right away and Harrison Frye knows he has to be very careful here to not let Wyatt concede that initial shootout, so he's being very hesitant here, southpaw, now he'll switch hands, just biding his time, biding his time , now he is going to be right-handed. it's a great moment here and both players seem to know it white makes the first move he's close to a bell here right in front of that black bell oh one more time wyatt can you ring that bell i shot him first and then he broke betrayed i think it's a swap simultaneously, potentially, yeah, again, why did I put it at the top of the side?
Which one made his way back into this match? Was it overlooked? Reach out and hit him? Could have been? It's not quite it's not It's not the last cough and nail, but we're getting there, yeah, because it's a big moment right now for Harrison. Yeah, I mean, think about it if Wyatt had pressed any of those doorbells he's been standing next to. floating around and didn't reach out and hit in this game, he'd just be a very different man, little mistakes, little mistakes, all he had to do was just reach out and ring the bell, maybe he sensed Harrison was in that lane and decided Instead, open the top, but that's where Harrison was shooting so now here at this mutual 1811 is the score, so again all you have to do is pass 220 or pass it here, so Harrison Frye just needs a buzzer-beater or two more shootout wins.
It's going to be difficult, it's going to be difficult now, you know, no, he's not on that killing streak. He's even, so Harrison can really push the pace and go for these ringers to put all the pressure on Wyatt. Wyatt, even if necessary. to stay focused, we've seen some big come from behind wins here in the ultimate shootout, he might go right for that black bonus buzzer, he'll get it and if he can get it, I think he's still in both. I live here, Ryan and Wyatt are up and over in a pretty treacherous spot, but he got those four points for the bonus buzzer.
If he manages to kill Harrison, it could make it really interesting, no, but Harrison defeats him. It was actually a pretty good snapshot of Harrison Frye. Very good Wyatt, posted at the top. Harris is in a bunker that's not really supposed to be played at that specific angle and somehow he came out and threw a ball at them, that's why you do the drills. right, that's why you do the drills and you need to do the drills from every position, don't get into that lazy rhythm where you just go and do the standard shots from the standard spots, no, you need to do very chaotic creative snaps from by everywhere alexander burton kaufman i would love to see him in this format he is famous for shooting guys from all positions in the bunker and harrison right there with a crucial kill now just one point away from taking the win one point away in an exchange A very interesting confrontation that we have next with Dave Haber and Jeremy Zimmerman, different stories and too conflictive for them.
Haber is a veteran. I love the way Haber plays. He is a hyper aggressive front first attacker on the snake side for the Outlaws. A replacement came here second, I saw his name. I've been singing his praises since he entered the professional leagues. Zimmerman, the old school paintball guy from Texas, a very underrated talent that will be one hell of a battle, but first we have to see. who's going to win this one, but that's going to be those two men that are going to fight next to see who's going to play the winner of this game, yeah, it's going to be a great matchup, you know, it's been all the things you know, jeremy zimmern.
He's the epitome of Texas, he kills snakes for fun, that's his hobby, he's got some snakeskin boots, here we go, is it going to be Harrison or can we see another one coming from behind the win, why is he coming, oh, Harrison, with a little risk, oh. and then harrison immediately gasps what a beautiful shot here for andrew wyatt who i will tell you what man wyatt is the underdog here and now a kill streak compromised oh my god if harrison frye ends up losing this oh that would be a terrible loss for him since he was waiting there was no elimination yeah so actually get that kill streak back he's not a little bit excited here for a possible return but yeah but then harrison uh again favorite of facing this one, andrew wyatt, the lesser known paintball player and like you said, a little bit more of a journeyman, but yeah, it could be like that, but Harrison has his reputation a little bit more to risk here.
I heard that he will have to cut his man's bread, just give it to her as a trophy. andrew white put it on his oh he'll get the plate damn man so where will the bonus buzzer be if wyatt gets the bonus buzzer blue bonus buzzer calls the wash side this is the buzzer that he didn't play before, what was the mistake that cost him here to give Harrison Fry the big moment for Harrison, even though all he needs is one kill, just one kill to take the victory away from Andrew Wyatt. Wyatt goes to the center, although here, Ryan, can also, don't you want to.
Being there, he's in a very bad situation here and he gets eaten and that's going to be enough, so I don't really agree with that specific move here for Wyatt. You have the extra bell here in the car. wash the blue side, he decides to go to the center and get into a can, which, like you said right before he was shot, and then he kneels. I like the creativity there, but I still don't think it was like that. a move, you know, it's one of those situations where I can see it both ways. I didn't love it, but one of the things is that if the other guy just has to negotiate to win, you don't want to try as hard. closer to him at the same time you know david haber why is he at 16 zimmerman anyone else can ring the bell then trade now they are tied in overtime any other situation i would agree with you uh and yeah it's not terrible Move over , I just think maybe look, there's no time here, maybe biting into his time a little bit. uh, you know, if you're going to lose, make your opponent lose you.
I don't know, it was just a tough break. the best victory was to shoot him again, kill, scout, kill, attack, yes, and shoot him again to win, you know that's what he should have done, he forced the issue, he went to probably the worst bunker on the field, yes, but Sometimes you know, deep water is still a great look for Andrew Wyatt in a very close battle with Harrison Frye. Look at Franka for a second. He could have returned, but either way it looks like Lauren Kelly has both of our competitors down there. I stayed on the sidelines to get an interview before moving on to our next quarter-final match, but congratulations to Harrison Fry Andrew.
You were so close at the end that you had a chance to ring the buzzer, maybe tie the score. What are some thoughts you have about those rounds? You just played, um, reflecting. I should have never stopped what was working for me. Had dominant dominance or had constant dominance from home. The times I really lost were when I was on the move and tried to change what was working. me and as soon as I became dominant again at home that was when I started to close the gap in the second half, unfortunately I gave away too many points in that first half and Harrison did well to take advantage of those mistakes, right? uh I'm gonna shake his hand after this match yeah I'm gonna shake his hand and behind there I'm probably gonna rip out his ponytail all in good faith let me take that mic off you Harrison by the way it's a man bun , oh oh man. or he's a pony, I don't know, you decide, uh, so congratulations on winning, tell me about that whole experience, the first time you actually played Ultimate Shootout here in the pro arena.
It comes back so quickly, like they have a great point. It went on for a while and then you had a chance to tie, what are some of your thoughts on this format? Yeah props to Andrea I mean he played really well he totally changed my original game plan and made me adapt and then it was too late for him when he tried to counter adapt but yeah he played really well and what else yeah he was always on kill streak mode and I was always, I was always on the edge of uh of uh, you know. being around, so yeah, good job, Andrew, you know, trash talking, but we respect each other, you know, on and off the field, so I asked you before and I'll ask you again.
Buzzers versus Killstreak, which do you think is more powerful? both powerful, there is no answer and it depends on who you play with. As a guy like him, it's going to be tough, it's going to get tough, it's going to be tough to shoot, especially on the baseline, so I couldn't get any. killstreak I was there a couple of times but he always got me back so I had to go for some buzzers and inch my way up well you took the win that was cool though oh I'm so sorry. The Red Bulls didn't perform or the rock stars didn't perform.
One doesn't work. Oh, shoot well. Congratulations to Harrison. Great job. Thank you very much for coming.
