is totally unique because it does not run on gas. Not at all, that's great for a lot of people, especially if you don't want the noise, the fumes, or all the maintenance issues, but it's a different type of machine, but it's a lot more capable than you think and in this video. I'm going to put it through the same test that I do with my gas generators and you can see for yourself if this is something you might want to consider now.

The product I will show you is called Eco flow Delta, not eco flow is the name of the company and Delta is the model itself, but the unusual thing is that this is a pre-production unit. Now they launched it as part of a Kickstarter campaign that is still going on and was very successful, in fact they were only looking for about 50 grand and ended up with almost two and a half million dollars. Now it's not like they fooled everyone. This product was specifically targeted at a lot of other competitors, kind of shortcomings and now we're going to see those people get fooled or fooled. the bargain of the year arriving so early and the first thing you'll notice is the physical size of this thing not only does it weigh around 30 pounds and it's very compact.

I like the bottom of this thing because those rubber pads are super thick and I think they'll hold up really well in case you drag it across pavement or a rough surface and with any battery unit the first thing you want to do is charge it up to one hundred percent and that's where this thing is very different, this Eco Flow Delta can be charged up to eighty percent of its capacity in just one hour and in most cases it can charge the entire unit in less than two hours. That's very different from the competitors, some of which take almost a whole day to charge and you'll also notice that this thing is a very cool screen, but it's pretty clever because that screen changes depending on what you're doing, so right now We're charging the units you can see there, it's actually telling you that it's going to take about two hours to recharge and it's currently at about 30 percent capacity, so this will change depending on what you're doing.

Another great thing about this machine is that it's quiet, it's a little cool, but it's very quiet, you can barely hear them running, so this is awesome for a place like a campground where you want to carry something or want to run a machine. and to do that you have to use one of these electrical plugs on the back that they gave you. six outlets that you could technically plug a

power

strip into and get more if you need them, but they are easy to use, but there is one key difference and it is that little hole that is there right now, if your cables have that extra grounding tab , that tab is just I'm going to sit inside the hole at first I thought this was a problem but it turns out it's actually a safety design and it's a code requirement so no battery unit like this will have a plug ground connection and you will have to use them that way.

Now that we are one hundred percent, let's put this to the test. If you've seen my channel before, you'll know that I've done a lot of generator reviews, so I didn't want to change anything to test. This then, what I'm going to do is connect it to my house in the same way that I would with a gas generator and we can see how it works. Another amazing feature of this little generator is that it is actually inside my house because there is no gas involved, you don't have any fume noise or anything to worry about, you can also store it inside safely which is much more convenient and you don't have to worry about it being stolen and this is amazing if you are in an apartment or a condo or even a boat because it is much easier to keep this close to where you need it and as small as it is, it produces about the same

power

as a 2000 Honda EU gasoline generator because it has 2000 watt surge, but it's actually only capable of producing about 1,800 watts continuous, so what I'm going to do here is connect this with a heavy duty wire to a power switch. real transfer that I have in my house.

Now remember this generator is only 120 volts which means it is normal house power but you can't run things like a well pump or a water heater with this you just can't generate enough power and this It is a code approved transfer switch for one hundred. and twenty volts and that thing has four circuits and I've got some pretty big stuff in there and now that I've got this generator hooked up we're going to turn those circuits on and what I'm doing here is actually switching them circuits so now they're going to go right through the Eco flow and With these active circuits we are already obtaining information.

You can see that I am using approximately 537 watts and it is estimated that I have approximately two hours of

backup

power. This thing, so I have it plugged in, but what's really working now when you can turn on things like lights that may not surprise you much, but what will is the fact that I'm also using a full size refrigerator and this? It's not new, it's about ten years old and has no problems turning it on, but what's even more surprising is that I'm actually running my heating system right now and I let it turn on so it was fully functional to do I'm sure this thing could power it and it did very well and this is a big plus for a unit like this.

I did the same type of test with the Honda EU 2000 and it was also successful, but again, this is a battery-powered device. unit and this is a pretty heavy test and you can see on the screen that I can run it for about three hours and that's pretty impressive considering the size of the unit and I'm running several big things, but now I want to take it. outside and let's do a different type of test using a 1500 watt heater, which is a pretty constant draw to see how the unit performs, and we'll turn it on and put it on the maximum setting so we get the most current possible.

Now this thing is drawing a huge load or almost 1500 watts and the computers are telling us we have about 51 minutes of run time which may not seem like a lot of time, it doesn't really compare to a gas generator but I have to remember that this is for a different market, it will be for someone who claims to camp and wants to run a coffee maker or a small heater just for a little while and this may be a situation where you couldn't carry gas or didn't have the capacity to refuel, So doing a test like this gives you an idea that you can run very heavy appliances for quite a long period of time while the heater is running.

I wanted to check the voltage to make sure it was putting out the correct amount and what this meter confirmed was that it was getting around one hundred and twenty volts which is totally normal for a unit like this. Now I let the unit run for about half an hour and it was working fine. It wasn't overheating even at that full 1500 watt draw, but what do you do when you start running on power and want to recharge? They offer this cool thing and it's actually a foldable solar panel that attaches to this unit. Now, if you have a gas generator, you might laugh at the same thing because this is ridiculous, but that's not really who it's designed for.

If you're all camping, let's say you're in the desert and you need a way to spawn. power easily, this type of thing works very well and they have also cleverly designed this case to allow you to take the solar panel and I support that because a lot of times when you are out and about you won't have something that is convenient so you can get the most of sunlight possible and by using this case you can actually do it quite easily and they give you these waterproof connectors that are easy to connect and then you are ready to go and now you can plug it into special port on the side of this little generator and now With it connected you can take a look at what the settings look like and this is great.

I can see myself using it like I'm camping or on the beach and I want to have a good supply of electricity without having to deal with gas and you can see the display also changes a lot now it tells us it will take 10 hours to charge it using the solar panel but you also get a bit of power there showing 43 watts now The panel is rated at 60 which tells me that because it is later in the day we are not getting as much solar production as we normally would in the middle of the day. So what does it all mean and how did this company overcome both?

Millions of dollars in Kickstarter backers when other companies can hardly get their products off the ground and it's because what they did was focus on things that other similar products simply couldn't do. This thing charges faster than anything else that can hold that charge. for up to a year and it's really easy to operate now, that being said, it won't replace anyone's gas generator, let's say it's 5,000 watts, which is running a water heater and a well pump, this will be for someone who maybe don't even ever do it. buy a generator or are in a situation where they can't hear and all the noise or the fumes and they just want something that is easy to operate and the last thing is if you have someone in your family that has medical equipment that may never be I can Say starting a generator, this is much easier and could keep things like a CPAP or oxygen concentrator running if there is a power outage, so it's a great unit.
