Hello everyone, welcome to Tech with Brett, where I help technicians work for you. By the end of this video, you will be an expert in using the Samsung Galaxy

buds

plus. To start, let's take a look at what's inside the box, so up here we have the Galaxy

buds

plus, in the case here we have the USB. C charging cable that you can use and it also supports Qi Wireless, we'll get to that in a minute and then here you have two different sets of ear tips and two different sets of wing tips so you can place the headphones correctly. your ear Now the most important part of wireless headphones is the fit.
ultimate guide to the samsung galaxy buds
I have used several different headphones and found that the Galaxy headphones are very small and if you fit them right, they can be the best sounding headphones for The other headphones I tried are too big and end up not feeling right after a while, but that's not an issue here with the Galaxy earbuds, so the first thing we'll cover is how to get a proper fit. with the

galaxy

buds plus because there's actually no active noise cancellation built into these while you're just listening to music so if you get the fit right it's going to provide the best noise cancellation outside of the earbuds so here, let's open up the earbuds here we have the left earbud and the right earbud so we're going to take them out of the case and now the first thing we're going to do is change the ear tip so here you can see that the ear pads, this is the medium one and then it also comes with a small one and a large one, so I prefer to use the larger pads to close them up a little bit more, so let's go ahead and start replacing them now to do this. pretty simple you just need to take that earbud off and then you need to take the next earbud and press it on the bottom like this and then wrap it like this and just move it a little bit more and there you can. see it's fully on and now I'm going to repeat that with the other earbud taking it off and then there you can see I just wrap it up and they've installed very simple to do now next we go to change the wing tips now there are three sizes different again here you have the one that is already installed and then here you have one that is more just a grip and then here you have a larger wingtip so let's start by putting the smaller wingtip So here on the right earcup just I'm going to remove the wingtip and now I'm going to use the small size and down at the bottom you can see this little part that's going to lock right there, so that's the right position. way to put it there's a left one and a right one, there you can see this is the tip of the right wing, so let's put this like this, line it up, push it in and once you have it completely aligned, so you're ready to try it on the ear, so this wingtip is definitely the smallest and fits well year.

ultimate guide to the samsung galaxy buds...

The only problem is that there is no real wingtip for this, so for me it won't stay in the ear either. Now let's try it. It's the larger wing tip again to get this out. I'm just going to slide it out, so I'm going to grab the other tip of the right wing. There you can see there's a lot more again, slide it over and here you can see that doesn't go. to learn it properly I need to turn it over now it fits perfectly, let's try it in the air now this wingtip is actually quite comfortable.
ultimate guide to the samsung galaxy buds
I hadn't used this before, so I think you might want to try this if you do. We're adjusting the original wing tip that comes with this might be the one for you as it fits a little bit more around all sides of my ear instead of just one and now let's go back to the original so I'm just going to pull . This comes off like this, here's the original wingtip and again put it on like this, it looks great and I really like how it fits in the ear, it stays tight with the wingtip here on top, let's try it out, so here you can see. on the back of my ear, the wingtip fits perfectly there.
ultimate guide to the samsung galaxy buds
I need to make sure I push it all the way in so it has a good lock and then with these earbuds I don't need to continually adjust them in my ear so I know I have a good fit and now we're ready to move forward now that we have the right fit. In fact, I'll be sure to say this in case I change them later to see if there's something that works better. Now let's talk about the battery life of the Galaxy Buds, so when you use the Galaxy Buds, a full charge will last you 11 hours.
The good thing is that the case will give you another full charge, so while it is charged, put the buttons inside you will see here at the top that the buttons are charging right now. You can see in my case it's dead because the light is not on, but then it will give you another full charge so you can use them for a full day, no problem, now let's charge this like I said before on the back, here we have the USB C port where you can charge them and that will be the fastest charging but if you have a wireless connection The charger that is Qi enabled is compatible so all I need to do is put it in there and now it is charging and here you can see that has turned red, indicating that it is now loaded for the indicators here, if it is red. it means it has less than 30%, if it is yellow it has between 30% and 60% battery and if it is green it means it has more than 60% battery, that will help you know if you need to charge the case or not.
I like to just have my wireless device. charging pad that is next to my phone and I can drop it into the case at any time to charge it so again if I take the buds out it will start using the battery on these when you take them out they actually turn on and they will stay on until you put them back in the charging case and close it so make sure you don't leave them out or you will have extra battery drain and then when you put them here in the case you will see the indicator come on showing that they are actually charging, if it doesn't turn on it's because the charging case doesn't have enough battery life or they are actually already full and then I can close it and put it on my wireless charger. to charge them now that we know how to charge them, let's go ahead and connect them to our device, no matter what phone you have, be it Samsung, another Android phone or iOS, you will be able to use the Galaxy Buds and the first thing you need.
What you need to do is make sure to download the Galaxy Wearable app from the Play Store or App Store now. If you have a Samsung phone, it's actually very easy to pair them. All I need to do is open the case on the Galaxy. buds plus and here on my phone you can see it asks me to connect to the buds so I'm just going to select connect and now it will take me to the

galaxy

wearable app and I will accept the terms and conditions and now it tells me how to use the buttons and also, there's something called ambient sound which we'll talk about a little bit and you can also easily start a Spotify playlist, so we'll select "Got it" and here it will finish connecting and go into it. the Galaxy wearable app, so here at the top you can see the battery life of each earbud, so the left earbud is at 50% battery, the right earbud is at 48% and here it even shows me that the case is at 0%. and I'm charging it right now, but they're actually charging the earbuds directly and not charging the case yet, so there's a ton of settings here and we're going to go through all of them today before we do that.
I want to talk about one of the other cool things that the buds plus offer is the ability to easily connect to other compatible devices very quickly without having to go through the repair process every time, so for example let's say I have a Samsung watch galaxy and I want to leave my phone at home and then just make a call through my watch using the headphones. Well, now it is very easy to pair them even after I have paired them with my phone. Let me show you how to do it, so here on my watch, all I need to do is go to my quick settings, tap on Bluetooth and then here the bluetooth will connect and there it's already connected, now to check what I'm connected to, I'll go here to my configuration.
I'm going to go to connections, I'm going to go to bluetooth and here Bluetooth audio, you can see I'm currently connected to the Galaxy buds plus, so all I had to do was press a button and I was connected. Here on the phone, in the Galaxy portable app, you can see that I'm offline. I just need to select Connect to reconnect. Now let's talk about if you want to pair them with other devices, maybe you use a home phone and a work phone, but you just want a pair of headphones, this is how you could do it, but actually, before you do it, I think it will be better if I show you by placing them in my ears, but I don't want you to look at me. ears all the time, so use this little gadget right here and pretend this is my head and here we have the left earbud and here we have the right earbud, there we go, okay, now we're going to take the ear. earbuds out of the case there, you can see that when I took it out of the case, the charging case disappeared and now we are going to put them in the right and left earbuds like this, now let's say we are using our earbuds, but we want to connect them to a different device, like this I have my other device here.
You can go into the Galaxy Wearables app, but if you try to connect to a new device you won't find anything, so the best way to do this is by holding down both earbuds until you hear the notification and now it asks us to reconnect there or here on the phone. You can see that I can connect to the Galaxy Buds Plus, so this is really useful. If you are connecting to other Samsung devices or other Android phones, that is the best way to connect them to a new device. Here you can see I have the battery life and I have everything there and then let's say I want to go back.
On my other phone here you can see that because the buttons are open it asks me to reconnect so I can easily jump between the two devices without having to go through the repair process. Remember that it was connected to the previous one. device and it appears there with all that information. Now let's move on to more things you can do with the headphones, plus it says here: know your headphones, so let's select, come on, this is how you use the touchpad. We're actually going to get into this in a minute, but here's how you can access the

guide

.
Here is how you can activate ambient sound and what it is for. It tells me that I have a wireless power sharing device and I can actually charge the headphones from the phone which is great and then here it talks about the battery life which we've already gone over and lastly it talks about pairing with another phone or tablet, so some of the things I just mentioned you know if you If you want to get more information that I talked about today in a manual, you can tap on the user manual right there and you can get all the information, but let's move on and we'll show you how to do it so you don't have to read and read. that and then here it talks about getting a tight seal so you have better audio quality and it will give you advice as time goes on well let's see how to use these things so let's say I get to the gym, I take off the headphones .
I close the case and then I put them in my ears like this, now I'm going to go to my favorite music app and then select play now like any other earbuds. I can change the volume from my phone. and there you can see it's changing the Bluetooth volume, so I'm listening to a song that sounds great. I want to pause the song, all I need to do is tap and that will pause the song, so again you tap the touchpad on the sides. So seeing the headset this is a touchpad so the different color is the touchpad so if I want to play again I'll just touch it again and it will start playing now if I want to move on to the next one. song, all I need to do is tap twice and then it will go to the next song, if I want to go to the previous song, this is where I tap three times one, two, three, so you have to do it pretty quickly. 1 2 3 1 2 3 and then it will go back so if you tap 3 times it will go back to the beginning of the song, tap 3 times again and then it will go to the previous song if you are within the first 3 seconds of the song and go back to the app galaxy laptop let's first talk about the ambient sound, so the ambient sound allows you to hear what is happening around you even if the headphones have closed the sound in your ears, so if we activate this it gives us the option to increase the sound, so if you're at the gym you have headphones on and there's background noise, you'll hear a little bit of that, but once you turn on ambient sound, it will allow you to listen through the headphones using the microphones on the outside.
With the application hereI can increase the volume of the noise, so that's great. If you're talking to someone without having to take off your headphones, you can turn on ambient sound and talk to them, which makes it really nice and easy. Use it now. Here you will receive a notification when you access the loudest sound. You may need to make sure the earbuds are clean to ensure nothing is blocking them. If you have trouble hearing ambient sound. Now I'll show you how to do it. Quickly turn it on and off in just one minute. Now, let's move on to the equalizer, so let's go ahead and play our music.
Here in the equalizer you have six different options so that you have a normal bass boost, a clear dynamic boost and a treble boost. Now this. It all depends on what you are listening to, you want to set the equalizer, so if you want a lot of bass you can change it to bass boost, if you want dynamics you can change that now when I used the headphones for the first time. Hey, I think there's something missing, so there's this equalizer that I was playing with, but there's actually another place where you can adjust the equalizer and we're going to do this by going into these settings on our phone and then we're going to go to settings. for sound, sound and vibration and then down here we have another option for sound quality and effects and then here we have the equalizer, so when I first used them it was already set to blast and this took away a lot of the bass. now just changing it from pop to normal improved the sound a lot, so you can come here and adjust the equalizer a lot more to get the best sound.
You know again, there are two equines, there's this one in the phone settings and then there's the one inside the wearable app, so you need to play with both to make sure you get the best sound possible, so here you can customize it and adjust exactly what you want to make it sound really bad or really good and I like to use the normal one so we'll keep it there now that we've talked about that let's go down here and move on to the notifications so here under the notifications you can choose what notifications come through the headphones and if they are read out loud while you are using the phone, so here I have notifications here, if I turn this on it says here notifications from your phone on your headphones even when you are using your phone, that would give you a notification double it will notify you here and then it will notify you on the headphones and then here we have the last setting which is the apps to receive notifications so when I'm at the gym maybe I use my phone but sometimes I don't worry about what it's coming through my phone, but maybe I want to make sure I'm getting texts from work or whatever so I can get in here.
I can select settings and I can choose everything and then it allows me to choose which apps I allow through the headphones, so here I could get a text message or I could have missed calls or schedules and then I can choose exactly which app I don't want on other applications bother you if they really don't. important of a notification, so you will review and choose exactly what you want to be notified, so that when you receive a notification, this is what you will hear and then you can choose to act on that notification or not now.
We're going to go and look at the touchpad more, so I already talked to you about playing and pausing a track with a single touch and then going to the next track by double tapping, but you can also answer or end a call. tapping twice and then we talk about going to the previous track by tapping three times and finally we have the touch and hold option, which I didn't talk about yet before we get into that here we have the option to lock the touchpad, so this option just disables the touchpad completely, so you might accidentally hit it or stop tracks when you don't want to get in here.
Turn this on, but I'm going to keep it off because I want to interact with the touchpad, so down. here at the bottom you have the touch and hold functions, so you have one for the left earbud and one for the right earbud, so if we go in here you have a voice command so you can activate the Google assistant or Bixby or other assistants you have. on your phone here you have ambient sound where you can quickly activate it, you have to turn up the volume or you can quickly start a Spotify playlist, so I actually want to set this as volume up and down, so when I go up and down the volume changes left to lower the volume, so you will need to long press there and it will slowly change the volume down.
You can see the volume goes down on the right side by long pressing it and there you can see the volume goes back up if we go back. here, but let's say I want to change the volume on the left, so I'm going to do the volume control and then on the right I want it to go to the ambient sound, well, there you can see it gave me a notice that I automatically changed it from new, so here the left one is now a voice command and the right one is not ambient sound. This is the main complaint I have about the headphones: they are not fully customizable, but there is actually a new improvement to the headphones on top of that.
We'll see how to fix that in a minute, so let's go ahead and choose that on the left I want the voice command and on the right I want the ambient sound so I can easily activate them again. long press, let's say you're at the gym and the ambient sound is off and you just hear a little bit of sound here and there and now let's go ahead and turn on the picture sound, so again I'm just going to By long pressing here and there, you can see the ambient sound on and right now it's set to high and you can hear what's going on in the gym and you can adjust it and here I can go through and change the medium and then low now depending on how loud it is it might You may want to adjust the ambient sound here, but I find this to be really useful when talking to someone, so normally, while I'm at the gym, I turn off the ambient sound and then If I want to talk to someone, I turn on the ambient sound and then tap to pause the music so you can listen to it and it works great, so now that we've covered the ambient sound option, let's go ahead and cover the option. voice assistant option so here on the left earbud I'm going to long press and then my Google assistant will appear which I set as my default voice assistant now if you didn't select the default and you want to change it this is how you would do it to make it appear its Google assistant, but I want to change it to Samsung assistant, so I'm going to go to settings and then I'm going to look for the apps section and I'm going to scroll until I find Google.
You can also use this search above if you find it helpful. Here I found many Google apps, but right there at the top we have Google. I'm going to open this. I'm going to select set as default and I'm going to select clear defaults now that I've done that, when I press and hold the earbud, the option will appear to choose which voice assistant I want to use, so I can choose Google Bixby, Amazon assistant or here I have Cortana and that's because I have those apps installed on my phone, so let's go ahead and choose Bixby and I'll select always so that every time it comes up I want to talk to it. so let's test what the weather will be like tomorrow and there she gave me her opinion through the headphones telling me all about the current weather with Bixby, if you use Spotify this is a great option because they work well together but I use other music services , so I'm going to switch it back to Google assistant now to do that, I'm going to go back to the apps section, I'm going to search for Bigsby and then in the Bigsby voice, I'm going to open it and set it as default and there I'm going to select clear defaults and now , when I hold it down, it will show me my voice assistant.
I'll select Google and now I'll select always. Now I've had a mixed experience with voice assistance activated. I think the headphones at the gym were too loud and didn't hear me well, but at home I haven't had any problems interacting with the voice assistant. How much wood would a groundhog drop if a groundhog could drop wood and that's it? It's really nice to use the assistant on the headphones because you don't actually need a voice command or active word to activate it, all you need to do is long press on the side, you can set reminders and you can do all that.
Let me know in the comments below if you'd like to learn more about commands you can use at the gym with your headphones. I've had mixed experiences using headphones at the gym like you and they really worked this time. I was able to play with the unknown and block without problems other times I didn't get a response but it will ring every time you activate it so you know when you need to talk but sometimes it just wasn't able to recognize what I was telling you. I'll need to find a less noisy area so I can make those voice commands work.
Now let's talk about receiving a phone call, so when I receive a phone call here it will show that someone is calling me. If I want to reject the call, I would press and hold the key. on the headset and then it will reject the call. Now here I'm going to get a phone call again and this time I'm going to answer it and to do that I'm going to double tap the side button here and it goes. to answer that phone call and then you can talk in the normal call log and if you want to end the call, you would double tap to end it, but let's say you're actually on a call and you get another call, so Here I have another incoming call.
If I hold down the call I'll reject it, but if I double tap it I'll answer it and now I can jump back and forth between the two calls, so here I am on the call with Brett. I tapped twice and then it changed the line I was talking to, I tapped twice again it will switch back to the other line and then if I want to end the call I will long press and now it will end both calls at the same time. let's go back to a call, they answered the call, so now while I'm on this call, if at any point I want to mute myself so the other person can't hear what I'm saying, I can long press the earpiece.
Then it will give a little verbal notification that it has been muted and while I'm talking you won't be able to hear me here on the phone. This shows that you are not on mute, but then if you want to unmute that, Just press and hold it again, you will hear a little beep and now it is no longer on mute and if I want to end the call, double tap and that will end the call, now one of the main problems I've had when using headphones. and when using phone calls it sounds like I'm in a bubble or just my ears and you pop or something because it closes the sound right here in the portable app, if you go to the advanced settings there's an option here that says use ambient sound during calls so here it says to hear your own voice more clearly while you're on the phone that's why it sounds like it's clogged because my ears are really clogged but here if I turn on ambient sound I'll be able to talk through the headphones and I can hear what's going on around me so I don't have that blocked feeling and the phone call experience is so much better now when I use this on a phone call it was very easy. to listen, you could actually be on the call much longer.
He could be talking to someone. I could still hear my kids yelling at me and I could have a conversation and it sounded very nice. The only problem here is that you have to make sure. have this on before you start the call, you can't just turn it on and off at any time now that it's on and I get a phone call, I'll be able to have ambient sound while I'm making that phone call, so if you're searching or something like that, make sure you Enter here and activate advanced settings before starting the phone call.
The last thing I want to say about phone calls is that using the headphones and on a phone call was an amazing experience. In the previous generation I never had a good experience with them being able to hear myself very well, but on the headphones, in addition, there is another microphone here on the side that actually acts as a second microphone with noise cancellation while you are on a phone call, so now we can hear you much more clearly, after a few phone calls. I can say that it totally works and other people were able to hear me without any problem, so if you are looking for better sound quality, we are thinking the other headphones definitely go with the headphones.
Also, now let's move on to find my headphones, so finding my headphones is really good, let's say your kids take them out of your case and you're trying to find them okay as long as they have battery. life and your phone is connectedto them via Bluetooth, you can use this feature, you can't use it while the headphones are in your ears, it could hurt your ears or it just won't work, but let's say I lost my headphones. my kids found them and dropped them somewhere, so if I want to find my headphones and I'm connected to my headphones, I can go to the Find my headphones section.
Here you can see my headphones are connected to my phone so you need to be close and they need to have battery life when both things are true, then I can select start and now it will start beeping on each earbud and then here I can mute each earphone so I can mute the right earphone and here I can I hear the sound of the left or if I want to find the right earphone there, you can also hear it, so with that sound you can find your headphones and then you can go in here and select stop and you won't lose. they, but again, they need to be connected to your phone and you need to have battery life.
It would be nice if there was something in the case like a mosaic or something so I could find them, but for now nothing like that. is available, so the headphones must be out of the case and connected to your device. Now next you have a general option where you can completely reset the headphones, maybe you don't want your information on them anymore and want to pair them. to a new phone, you can go here and reset the headphones. If you want to make sure you have the latest software update, you can go here to update the headphones software and then you can select download and install and then I will go through the process to check for new updates but right there there are no updates available and then here it has automatic download over Wi-Fi, so it's already selected.
Below you have tips and user manual. This was pretty much explained here in today's video, but lastly, this is the best part about sprouts. Also, this new labs feature adds a lot of the features I was really hoping for and even though it's in labs, it's available so I'm really excited about it, so first we have to double tap the edge of the earbud to change the volume, so I'm going to turn it on and this is how it works, instead of using the touch pads on the side to change the Volume, all you need to do is touch the front of the earbud to adjust the volume, so on the left earbud have the volume down and on the right earbud have the volume up so again the long press setting on the left side is set to voice command. and on the right it's set to ambient noise but now let's see if we can change the volume so all I have to do is tap the front twice and there you can see that it adjusted the volume on the right tap and you can see that the volume It is increasing so that it is actually right on the front of the earbud when it is in your ear and not on the side, going to the side will pause your music, play or end the call, but if you touch the front it will increase the volume and turn on . turn the volume down so I'm really excited to see that's available now going back to the ambient mode settings here we have an option for extra loud ambient volume so you can add an extra volume dial to the ambient sound to really turn up the noise.
So if ambient noise isn't enough for you, you want to hear your surroundings a little more while you're out and about. When you turn it on and come back here to the ambient noise, you can see that a quarter has been added. option to go extra loud now I haven't really had the need to turn on extra loud, but it's there if you want to make sure you hear a lot better outside and then the last setting here in the labs is the game modes, so minimize the audio. delay for vivid and synchronized game sound, so if you are playing on your phone and there is a lot of delay when using headphones, if you enable this mode, that delay will decrease and you will have a little better connection and this will probably use a little more battery , but I haven't fully tested it and this is how you can use the game mode.
Now you play a game on your phone and it will work much better. I noticed that this didn't improve while watching videos, so usually if I'm watching videos there is a slight delay with the headphones, but when they are on I noticed that what was being talked about in the video and what was being heard in the headphones was perfectly aligned and therefore Lastly, we have a setup here about the headphones so you can get information about the software and battery. If you're curious, each earbud has 85 million hours and then the charging case has 270 milliamp hours, so those are the different specifications of the device.
If you want to disconnect from the buds plus, you can select the menu and you can come here to disconnect or you can select manage devices, you can choose the buds plus and then you can remove it as a connection on your phone, but we don't need you to do it now , so that's all you can do with the new Samsung Galaxy Buds. Also, if you have any more questions, let me know in the comments below and if you want to see a quick comparison on the buds plus and the original Galaxy buds, be sure to check out the video right here.
Thank you very much for watching, see you in the next one.
