TSA is Forcing me to Tear Apart my One WheelFeb 27, 2020
that's the point of pyrotechnics of no return on set if you guys attack me against my will i'll throw kicks yeah that's a real problem well something's gonna happen to me i don't know what i don't know what's gonna happen , man, something. everyone gives me these smiles and these wigs i like surprises but ren said it's unfortunate because it has to happen and i don't know what it means that's what you got from your car he said i need something from his car i didn't need it i got something from his car . I did it. It's in my pocket. i'll throw kicks i think it's admirable clint that you think so highly of us if we play a joke on you big enough to torment you it's going to be alright we're going to minnesota next week uh-huh and we have to sh put our boards there ahead of time and that time is now we have to take the
apartand we have to remove the battery that's what this is all about let me put it this way one
wheelequals freedom which means you're not going to have freedom until tuesday of the week he's coming just pack up the boards dude i don't know we have to take them
aparthey i'll take this too we're going to void the warranty oh how much they cost a lot so i'm willing to take the risk well it's because we're trying to fly these things on a plane and airlines have regulations against certain battery sizes so the limit for an airline is 160 watt hours for a battery between 100 and 160 it depends on the airline the original onewheels will get you It had like 135 watt hours these guys have 324 watt hours so that's a big battery which leaves us with a quandary we want to be able to ride these things in minnesota so what's our plan and what did niko do yesterday he just removed his battery and he sent just the battery there and then I checked the wheel in his luggage to fly with it in the morning getting ready for a little dry ice gag I mean Jared is trying not to burn us to be honest probably won't get used but Anigo wants to make it as practical as possible here so my gut tells me it's going to end up being vfx we'll see how it cools you pretend the dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide it's so cold it skips the solid stage and goes straight into a gas which is called sublimation and that's why it looks so cool very very cold it's effective and it's fun and if we put water in this bottle and let it start sublimating inside it eventually it will explode which we may or may not do in the end of the day denial today and we can or we can't i'm not going to do this i didn't hear anything yeah put it as red blah blah blah you know let's get this out niko is trying to make sure we get everything as written on the page right now but everyone is also trying to get their two cents on and on how it could be better and change so it's a tug of war I'm sitting on the side because I like lasers driving into your car maybe and that's when sam gets serious and it's like he's heading towards what we're having fun this is like us how to think about this enactus use use this don't ignore it and then and then like hope nothing messes up that's cool that's cool but I need you to focus on acting your character honestly that's why it is.
What if that's exactly what we're doing? This is literally a discussion about character. mistakes, everything is going well, yeah, yeah, well, we're all filmmakers, but everyone has their contributions, but it can be hard to direct until the idea is there and you can see it and you can adjust it and everyone is in character and they have no However, that's what makes his character better, what makes him flow as an actor, which is great, but I have to make sure that I follow a procedure to be able to see the scene that I've written, we can make sure that there's no misunderstanding about The rhythms.
I have had it on paper and then I make adjustments. I just want to make sure that we're doing it in the correct order. I talked about it a lot, but we haven't run it yet and we just ran it as we initially planned. ok we have to do it off paper first time i want to change it seriously i like all suggestions but you guys just give me the only version ok we will do it for you nico thanks nico way . let's do it diana hit it stop let's head to your car good god everybody background peggy let's go good as you were saying before you get all the same jokes literally the same pacing the same everything except the character motivations to do what we want what we're doing has a lot More sense guys l let's run it let's run it literally if you're trying to stop the laser now before something bad happens jump the gun in the second half of the scene it's got to be fun and the games don't stop fun game that's ok lo we'll let me pour the water and i won't say stop the laser i'll say this is crazy ren cause i'm running like you do it do it do it me running and causing mischief it's the exact opposite of what i was doing in the beginning yeah it's just a consistent character idea we shouldn't be having this conversation describing how we think it should go ren clint we should play this and if it feels If it's okay or something seems to be working, we'll know and if you feel like they should move on, let's do it, even though talking about it isn't the best option.
I'm willing to try it your way to see what it's like, but sam, I need your promise if we try and I don't. if they will still willingly commit to what i want to do yeah but let us experiment t a little here oh dude no i know what you guys are doing to disrupt your moment that seems to work but ok slow down guys give me one more version as you are doing, I have a feeling not. you're not really respecting this laser i think we should put it up before it gets out of hand i think it's probably the best idea right now i appreciate this new director you guys want to take it and bring it back to what's on the page ok let's do it ok guys let's do a rehearsal here, can someone turn that I'm Tom Cruise thing into a ringtone and put it on our subreddit?
That would be great, thanks, why are we going to Minnesota? we are going to do some scouting and besides me and sam nico are all from there we wanted to show the city after the rest of the guys and have them check out the sights and sounds they are really very well designed they are built like tanks and not l I like that we make videos on how to take them apart, they told me that explicitly, but you know what I bought this thing at full price. I can do what I want with her. I put some extra hot glue here to seal it from the water.
I'm going to remove my front jig now to remove the bumper I'm going to get to the screw this is great because it serves on top of a bumper it serves as a guard against the underside of the dash here it's very well built there's a motor wire you need to make sure you get keep track of all the screws we're taking out ok there's one there it's actually a hard part here trying to remove it it's like brittle now this is like taking an iphone apart in terms of how many parts are there and how hard would that be taking an iphone apart because good luck putting an iphone back together the same way i did i did i took a whole iphone apart and put it back together and it still works really jenna dropped her phone and i ripped the screen off so we just did bought a replacement screen and took it apart put it on it wasn't that hard you used a microscope there we go we got it oh it blew it up I broke it ok it probably wasn't pressing down.
Strong enough on this, well I took out the motor so now we have to go in here and remove the batteries. Pyrotechnics on set. Very good. Security meeting. to keep it very dangerous uh it's hot we're going to be hot safety meeting safety meeting bring it in safety meetings be careful careful we're going to do it with this I doubt it's enough to complete bring it we should try it with him and the effect is try to stay safe hey hurry up bring it bring it come on guys bring it get in get in the day here like I predicted a little bit earlier. playing around so we'll have to add another visual effects shot to the list some of you may know i know nick knows i know because we're both scouts american flags waving over there you see there's a little solar panel also solar panels charging a battery goes to go to that light is probably on a sensor so at night they don't have to lower the flag according to the flag code at night you lower it but if you have a light on you don't have to so that they have a little battery powered light that lights up a light the american flag all night there is a flag code that basically says if you don't turn it on it has to come right down we flag code you take it unless it's made of a material that can it take the weather you need to take it down in a storm that's probably nylon that's probably fine and it rarely rains and then at night if it's not lit you have to take it down, It's not a law, people like you know people have all people on their porches, don't do that.
I know patriotic people are like oh you're disrespectful to wear the flag it's against the law it's not a law it's not all it's the code of the flag it's a sign of respect but you also know to wear the flag for different purposes is speech too and that's protected by the first amendment which is more patriotic than just what you do with a flag so let's light the flag and follow the city code. Great, what do you want to do with the flag you have on you. Oh, there you are. Guess what, this is one of my favorite segments.
This is where I can use. kinda sponsored to talk about a book i really enjoyed come with me let's look at it together i found out that one of my favorite types of stories is when a character repeats time and i'm not talking about time travel think groundhog day in that movie bill murray wakes up every morning to find he's replaying his day before even better take a look at edge of tomorrow and i mean liv die repeat tom cruise in his prime that movie replays his day before dying well, what if instead of repeating your previous day you repeat your whole life that is the premise of the book that i want to recommend to you today called the first 15 lives of harry augusto written by claire north this book follows our protagonist harry augusto he is born in the first world war grows up leads a full life but then dies of cancer in the 1980s, except instead of going into some sort of afterlife, he is born again in the early 1900s, but this time he remembers everything that is correct, all his memories have returned to him from his previous life and at first he doesn't take it very well so he ends up in an asylum although the second time he dies he discovers that there is a whole community of people who repeat their lives over and over again keeping their memories while some people are even thousands of years old and repeat their lives over and over again but what makes Harry different is that his memory is perfect.
North tells this story in an interesting way because he actually bounces back. It's around between the various lives that Harry lives, in fact the book begins with him on the deathbed of his eleventh life and that's when a young woman who can also repeat his life shows up to deliver a message that the world is falling apart. ending and that's something. which I find particularly interesting because they can send messages through time for this little girl as a girl to deliver a message to harry on his deathbed so that when he dies and is born again he can do the same to someone else on his deathbed who I really found the philosophy in this whole book quite fascinating because it really deals with all the trials and tribulations and all the implications of having your life replayed over and over again.
There are a lot of good things that come with it, but also a lot of bad things. I love how this book explores that and you can get this book free if you try audible for 30 days by going to audible.com runner team or even text runner team one word to 500 500. oh yeah speaking of it h audible has what's called audible originals and they're just exclusive titles that they finance and release on their own and they're pretty cool one of them is called the singularity trap i recommend that one i've driven over 13 000 miles in the last five months and Audible has helped me during that time.
If you want to check this out, you can get those books for free by signing up for a 30-day trial by going to Audible.com. corner team 500 do it you can get a free book it's great oh this is the rear pad for craft and ride because of the way it's concave it gives you extra grip when you're riding and also relieves foot strain or crooked toe as we call it uh we got it creating a ride they're great accessory of a wheel look there it is it broke right there but it's going to come out now so oh boy two more bolts and they're under the label here which says warranty void if removed oh that's the point of a return that's the point of no return now. it should be able to slide right out it's one of my favorite movies jared what movie is baseball no i never haveseen i don't think this is going to happen i don't think it's going to happen because this screw just spins free i'm going to send it hold everything everything that could be very expensive yes 20 quid 30. what doesn't make sense to me is if i'm going to send this was all put on a plane because i mean exploding batteries is yeah obviously not a good thing yeah but there has never been a single case of a one wheel battery exploding even the new xr's yeah they are Sure, I guess I'll have to ship all this stuff, which would suck if that's the case.
Well, Clint thinks of this too, whatever the cost of shipping. or minnesota you're going to pay double to get it back yeah no sure yeah that's a real problem yeah how much will it probably cost like 150? Not worth it if you want it there Monday morning. behind, but clint, what about us riding together? it's hard dude that's so crazy one spins on people's freedom ok tip it up it's not normal it's not going to happen all hope is lost those push ups now ok i can't get my one wheel to minnesota my only hope is to ask cliff to lend me his because he has a v1 and they'll actually let you fly with the v1 um luckily cliff is my roommate um so hopefully he'll chill with that mate , i have a favorite asking you so i couldn't open up my xr and get the battery out to take it to minnesota so i was wondering if i would possibly be able to swap a wheel with you because i could fly with the v1 on battery but i can't h the xr yeah that's cool man that's cold yeah like I'll break it or break it like there's someone I trust the only wheel is the sun thanks another great board yeah okay right in minnesota okay I can borrow the eclipse wheel then Te I'll have a board in Minnesota, yeah, and then we'll play, oh my gosh, man, thank you so much.
