dollar

s, so we'll need four three-packs of these bars of five-gallon paint from Lowe's 98 cents, a package of these two packages.

dollar

tree

plastic bowls we will need a wood stain of your choice we will need some dollar

tree

wood glue we need a piece of foam board for the dollar tree and we will need a metal hanger or you can use paper clips, so the first thing we want to do is remove our paint sticks from all the packaging.

Once we have removed them, we will set them aside. What we want to do is grab some plastic to protect our work surface. to go ahead and grab the stain, some gloves and a small rag, go ahead and put the gloves on and make sure the stain is mixed in well. Now our bars are printed on one side, so make sure you stain the blank side of the bar now. To apply the stain we want to apply it to the entire front side of the rod and you can also use thinned acrylic paint if you don't have stain, so now that I have stained all my rods, I'm going to leave them out on this nice sunny day to let them dry, so while those are drying I'm going to start working on my bowls, so first I'm going to remove all the labels from those bowls, now we need to cut them in half to find the center of the bowl.
top paint stick crafts dollar tree diys cozy farmhouse home decor easy high end looks for
I'm going to take a piece of paper and press it into the center of the bottom of the bowl so that the shape of the circle transfers and then I'm going to cut out that circle now once it's cut out. What I want to do is take that circle and fold it in half and this line in the middle is going to be the center, so I'm just going to place that center, that circle back in the center and I'm going to mark the center of the bowl where that is. line with a marker and then I'm going to take a ruler and I'm going to draw a line that connects the two points that I made and now I'm going to take a piece of painter's tape and I'm going to place it right along that line and when it place along that line, the sides should fall into place dividing the bowl completely in half.
top paint stick crafts dollar tree diys cozy farmhouse home decor easy high end looks for
If you want to double check to make sure it's in the center, you can run a tape measure over it. around and measure each side between the tape, in this case it should measure approximately 13 and a quarter inches on each side. Now to cut them I will use a hot knife. Now you can certainly use an your convenience so what we're doing is we're following that tape line and cutting out the bowls and now we have two equal halves so now I'm going to take the second bowl and use one of those first halves as a template to mark a cutting line and then we'll cut it in half now once. everything is cut out, remove all the tape and then we can sand down any jagged edges that you may have and then we're going to take that sheet of foam board and we're going to glue the foam from our bowl halves onto the foam board. so we want to take one of the bowls and apply a line of hot glue along the cut edge and we want to press it into place on that foam board.
Now, once all the bowls are glued in place, apply another bead of glue to the inside. seam of each bowl and while they are gluing, go ahead and take your ruler and draw a line along the opening of each bowl. This will be the back of each ball, then take your cutting mat and we want to cut each bowl out of the foam sheet with that exact knife and then you want to take your x-acto knife and trim the foam board along the outside edge from that bowl. I also cut out the back, but I'll show you a close up.
So what we're going to do is take our exact knife and we're going to follow the line that we drew and cut the back to get a nice, even cut, and now that all the bowls are cut, we're going to add that last third layer of hot glue along the inside seam for a super secure fit, so now we're about to wear it down and we're going to use this acrylic paint in the pavement gray color. Now we want to start by adding the color along the front edge of each bulb and once we've finished all the edges of the bowls, we'll take a paper towel, crumple it up and apply it to the paint and apply it randomly. scuff marks on the bowl and then I'm going to add the color to the back of the bowl and the back rim to give it a little more wear.
Now, once everything dries, we want to add a little bit of mod podge to the areas that we painted to keep it from rubbing off, so we're going to put some mod podge on those parts and then let it dry. Now our paint stick should be dry, so after drying, I tried a few different spacing ideas, I decided to space the eight apart. of the sticks are spaced about three quarters of an inch apart now three of the sticks will hold the back but they will be a little long for this spacing scenario so I will have to cut off the excess with a jigsaw so I cut them off and there are a raw edge, we'll touch it up with stain later and then I'll just apply some glue dots to the side and then I'll put that bar in place about three quarters of an inch from the edge and then I'll put some heavy items on top until that's ready and I'm going to repeat this for the center stick and the other side as well.
Now, while that's drying, we're going to go ahead and take our hanger and Now we're going to make hooks for the pots. You can also use heavy duty clips if you want, if you don't have a wire hanger lying around, so the first thing you need to do is cut that part of the hanger off and then use our pliers. We're going to straighten our hanger as best we can and then I'm going to take some needle nose pliers and I'm going to bend the end down a half inch and then I'm going to bend it inward. again another half inch to make a little hook and then I'm going to take the ball, estimate the length and I'm going to cut that hook a little bit longer than the back of the bowl and then trim it now.
I'm going to use that hook as a template and I'm going to cut seven more pieces of that exact length and then bend them to form hooks on the end as well and I'll have four sets for the four of us. bowls and then what I'm going to do is glue two of the hooks to the back of each bowl and I'm going to secure them with painter's tape to keep them in place and then I'm going to repeat this with the remaining bowls and now we're going to apply hot glue in the area between the painter's tape making sure the hooks are straight and even when you do it now, once the glue dries, remove the tape and once you remove that tape, go ahead and apply hot glue to those areas where there was the tape.
Now, once the glue is finally dry, we can cut the extra length of wire to hang at the bottom. This last step is for cosmetic purposes but I'm adding a strip of this gorilla tape to cover that glue for a nice clean look and I'm going to repeat this for all the bowls so now we take our completely dry wood rack and now We can hang our pots and hooks however we want and each one. The hook should fit comfortably over the ribbon wherever you want to place it, it

looks

good and here is the completed project, guys oh my gosh I love how it turned out.
I added some greenery and some flowers as finishing touches and it totally brings the look complete now, I really love this rustic vibe of the bowls combined with the wood and I know I created this piece 116 by 10 now it blows my mind, stir sticks paint I bought for 98 cents at Home Depot now. we want to lay out seven of those 10 stirring sticks about 12 inches wide and make sure they're evenly spaced and then we'll use one edge of a stick to even out both edges now, once, go ahead and apply a little bit. e6000 about three inches on each bar and then you want to follow up with hot glue for that instant hold.
Now apply one of those paint sticks to the top and you want to repeat this for the bottom as well. Now you want to apply that elastic. angled in the middle as shown here and we will also use e6000 on hot glue and there you have it, it's a very easy complete fence right now, once it dries we can go ahead and paint it so pick up your painting supplies now. I'm going to paint my fence with this white chalk paint. Now I'm going to apply a coat of that chalk paint making sure to cover the edges as well and then once done set it aside to dry.
I have already placed the hanger and a package of these wooden bunnies, a piece of buffalo check printing paper that I made but can be purchased at a hobby store and a package of these carrots. First we want to get our bunnies out of the package and then go ahead and grab the print. paper what we want to do is place the bunnies on the back of the paper and then we want to trace the outline of the bunnies then we just want to cut the bunnies out of the paper now we want to go ahead and protect your work surface and then place the wooden bunnies.
Now I will use mod podge to adhere the paper to our bunnies. Go ahead and apply a coat of mod podge to each wooden bunny and then adhere the paper. Once adhered we'll go ahead and apply another layer of that mod podge on top of the bunnies and seal them now while they dry we can work on our fence now I've already applied the hanging rope as seen here now we want to take a branch of that wood boxwood and We removed all the twigs and now what we are going to do is place the twigs on top of the fence.
We want to start by gluing a twig to the top of each corner and work our way down forming a swag and then we're going to take our carrots, go ahead and remove them from the packaging. Now we want to place them along that green vine and then just glue them into place. Now I'm going to take some scraps of fabric or you can use tape to make. two little bows to place on each end of that swag and then just glue them in place as well, then I'll take some small flowers of your choice and then I'll cut out three of the individual flowers and then fold the heads of each one. flower, so it's facing outwards.
Now I'm just going to take my flowers and see what kind of arrangement I want and once I understand that, set them aside and I'll place two of the bunnies that you made facing each other. opposite sides of that fence and then we're just going to add a little bit of e6000 and hot glue to the back of each bunny and secure them in place and then I'm going to take this metal dollar tree welcome word that I have and I'm going to use e6000 and hot glue to adhere it right under those carrots and then we'll add our flowers and once they're added go ahead and cut off those stems.
Now I wanted to cover the stems, so I adhered. three twigs from this boxwood and then we trimmed the ends of that too and we're done and here's the completed sign, okay, I really love, love, love how this cute sign turned out, this carrot garland is so cute and I really think which is the star of this piece, I admit I'm a little obsessed with the buffalo check but it

looks

so adorable on these bunnies and what better way to welcome your guest by simply adding these metal words and Christmas tree flowers dollar, prepare to impress. with this piece because your guests would never know it's not from a

high

-end craft store for this project we will need two three-packs of these five-gallon paint mixing sticks two 10-packs of the one-gallon paint mixing sticks that I need some wood glue and I got this from the dollar tree and we're going to need some dollar tree cardstock to make this faux galvanized sheet.
Now the first thing we want to do is takeour one gallon paint sticks and we want to cut the handles with a saw make sure you remove two of those paint sticks before you cut them and here are our paint sticks cut to about nine inches long and we save those two from the package below What are we going to cut? from the handles to the 5 gallon rods and here they are cut and now our rods are 17 inches long, so we are going to remove the 5 gallon rods from the packaging, now two rods will be used on each side of the shutter and these last ones will be They will use two sticks for the central supports.
Now these sticks will be cut in half and here they are, they have been cut and now they measure eight inches each for the four side pieces. I'm going to trim about a half inch off the end and now all four pieces are sixteen and a half inches long, so now we have four five gallon bars to sixteen and a half four five gallon bars to eight and a half eighteen one one gallon bars nine-inch bars and two uncut one-gallon bars that are twelve inches long, so now I'm going to go ahead and lay out my grid mat and this will help with the alignment so you can see the process better as well, so we'll take the four side pieces and we will place them. now you want to make sure the printed side is facing you and then I'm going to take two of the center support pieces and place one on each end between the two side pieces now once they're all lined up we want to grab those handles that we cut off, the gallon paint stir sticks, we're going to use them to secure the pieces together, now we're going to place a handle over each of the seams and now we're going to take some of that wood glue what we're going to do is apply it to that handle and then we're going to press it down onto the seam, but don't forget that we also need to glue this side of the support and then we're just going to repeat this with the other side and now we're going to take the other two side pieces and the center support and secure them with the handles too.
Now to have a secure joint, I'm using these dollar trees. Make clips to keep it in place while I work, so now we're going to join the two ends together before gluing them together. I'm going to go ahead and use those other two center supports just to make sure they're evenly spaced and these are just temporary for now, once they're lined up we can go ahead and add a little bit of wood glue to the ends and press them together, then we're going to take two more of those one gallon handles and press them into that seam now, next we're going to add our 1 gallon paint sticks, now we're going to put nine sticks on each end of the shutter.
Now if the placement looks good, we could just slide them to the side and we can go ahead and start applying our wood glue now, we're just going to apply that wood glue around the edge of the frame, then you'll need to smooth it out with your fingers to prevent the glue from coming out of the seams, then you'll just want to attach the sticks. back into place and making sure that the printed side is facing up and they're all even and then just press them firmly into place and we're going to glue the other side as well so that once everything is in place, we're just going to gently flip them over. the shutter up and now we'll add the two center support pieces and add that to the end of the row of chevron bars.
Now we just want to apply some wood glue. to the ends of the support along with the bottom edge of the last paint stick that you put in place and then we want to put that support bar in place making sure it overlaps the last paint stick by about a quarter of an inch and we want to make sure this piece is flush with the side pieces and then once you're done with this side, simply repeat this on the other side as well. Now we can turn the shutter towards the back and we will adhere the two paintings without cutting. sticks in the middle opening now I'm going to place them in a criss-cross pattern so once you determine their placement what you want to do is just add a dot of wood glue to the corner ends of the stick and then we want to press that first stick. instead, then we want to place that second stick on top and once we know where it goes, just add a little bit of wood glue to the center of the existing stick and to the corners of the new stick and then cross that stick into the top and press that. in place as well and then we just want to add the clips for a secure connection because this can be tilted slightly now for added security.
I'm going to add these three-quarter inch wire nails to my shutter. These were 97 seats at Walmart. Now I'm going to apply a nail to each side of each handle that we glued into those seams. Now I'm just going to nail these halfway so we don't go through the other side and here. it's what it should look like it should be sticking out slightly from the outside and then we're going to take our wire cutters and we're going to cut the nail heads off and make sure they're flush with the frame and here's a nice finish so now that you're professional you can go ahead and make one more shutter with the same steps to match this one so now it's time to stain the shutters so I'm going to put up a cover to protect my work surface and then pull down the shutter and take a rag and stain it of your choice.
I will now put a link to this stain in the description box below. You should also make sure you have some gloves on hand because this job can be a little tricky. so go ahead, put on your gloves and if you want to give the tint a good shake, then you just need to start applying the tint with the rag and put an even coat over the entire shutter. Now you need to make sure that you also cover the inside and outside edges, then you need to let them both dry completely and here they are dry and ready to add the galvanized

decor

ative panels.
Now I created this galvanized sheet from a piece of cardstock that I bought with a dollar. tree, I started by stamping lines half an inch apart on the opaque back of the board and then I turned it over, sprayed it with silver spray paint, and rubbed it with a crumpled paper towel while it was wet to create this texture that I'll put a link in the top right corner of this video if you want to see how I do this and I will also put it in the description box below so now what I'm going to do is take my sheet and I'm going to measure it and cut it into a piece that will fit, you want to make sure your pieces cut the width of the opening that overlaps the center supports and are at least 15 inches wide to accommodate folding and once you have the right size, We're just going to fold this into a fan in those raised lines, which makes it nice and even and it's going to look great, so now that it's folded you're ready to add it to the shutter.
Now what we want to do is we want to go ahead and turn it upside down and then we'll add a little bit of hot glue to that edge and we'll line it up with the edge of that shutter and we'll repeat this on the other side and after this we'll just add some picture hanging hooks optional if you wish and then We are ready to display your pieces and here is the finished project. I'm really excited about how they turned out now, as you probably know, I love using these paint sticks. They are of great quality and dye very well. the galvanized metal look really adds that

high

end look and who would have guessed it is cardstock, you guys have to let me know where you would display them in your

home

in the comments.
The supplies we will need are three 10-unit paint packages. stir sticks that were 98 cents, let's go ahead and remove the stir sticks from the three packages, then I'll go ahead and lay out my mesh mat to help me measure and space my sticks, now let's start with five sticks, the we're going to join together to make a long stick, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to place one stick outwards and I'm going to take two sticks to figure out where the center is now once I find it. that center I'm going to go ahead and mark it and then we're going to go ahead and take our e6000 and we're going to apply the glue to the bar and then I'm going to follow up with a few dots of that hot glue so you can have that instant fix and then we're going to apply one side of the bar with a paint stick and then we're going to follow up on the other side of the stick with the paint stick and then I'm going to apply a couple of clips just to hold this in place until the glue takes hold.
Now we're going to go ahead and turn the sticks over and for that overlapping edge we're going to adhere a stick to that end. We're going to go ahead and apply our e6000 and hot glue combination and we're going to put a stick on each end and then when you put the stick on the other side, you're going to end up with three sticks on one side and two sticks on the other, those two sticks will stick over the seams and add extra security. Now we're going to repeat this for a second set of five, so we're going to end up with two long sticks once these sticks are dry, we're going to lay them out and we're going to space them about six inches apart and then I'm going to go ahead and grab 16 of the sticks and I want to place them evenly along those two sticks, making sure they're about two inches overlapping on each end and we want to make sure that two of those sticks cover a seam and then we'll take our combination of e6000 and hot glue and first we will adhere those two sticks on those seams to place a kind of mark of how we are going to level the location of the sticks and now what we are going to do is use a pencil to mark the location of the sticks for the rest of the sticks and then we're going to glue them in place using those pencil marks as guides, so I'm going to repeat this with the entire fence now, once the hot glue takes hold, we can go ahead and carefully flip it over, now what we're going to do is take our glue. gun and I'm just going to run a bead of glue along the joints where the sticks come together, this adds a little extra security and now we're going to take the four remaining sticks that we have and we're going to adhere them.
Leave them in a zigzag pattern as shown here and then we'll just use our e6000 and hot glue to secure them in place. Now once the fence dries you can leave it natural or even stain it, but I'm going to paint my fence with two or three coats of this krylon satin bright white spray paint. Now, once the fence is dry, we will prepare it for

decor

ation. What I went ahead and did was print the letters h, m and e for a sign that will end up saying at home now the o will be left open for seasonal decorations that we can change.
I have included a pdf of these cards in the description box below, so now I will be making my cards with this faux galvanized cardstock that I made from a dollar tree cardstock that I embossed with half inch lines and painted with spray paint shiny aluminum and then I dried it with a paper towel to create this texture. Now you can click on the video in the top right corner of this video to watch it. how I did this before or you can check the description box below for a link so what I'm going to do is I'm going to flip the cardstock over and place a letter in the top right corner and then I'm just going to tape it down. instead you want to make sure your letter is facing down, then you want to take your stamping tool, a pen or pencil, and you want to outline the edge of the letter to transfer the ink to the cardstock, then you can remove the print. and repeat this for the rest of the letters now, once all the outlines of your letters have been transferred, you can cut out that section with the letters and now I'm going to grab my protective mat and I'm going to place my letters on top of it now.
I will use my exact knife to cut out the letters and once they are completely cut you must carefully remove the letters from the cardstock. It looks good, so they're all cut out and now what I want to do is add a rusty edge. edge of my letters, so to do this I'm going to use this nutmeg brown acrylic paint, this pavement gray acrylic paint, and this cardinal red acrylic paint. Now I'm going to start mixing that brown and adding the other colors until I get the desired rust. color that I like and then you will take your brush and erase the color around the edge of the letters with a almost dry brush and then you can add random rust marks on the face of the letter, more distressing, however you want and Now when finally are dry, we'll go ahead and fold the letters into a fan shape.
The raised lines that we did in that tutorial that I directed you will make it easy and even, and it will turn out more uniform and here. Are all of our letters ready to go and now we're just going to grab our fence and we're going to place our letters on top now once the letters are placed the way you want we're going to go ahead and hot. glue the letters in place just in a few spots and we want to repeat this with all of our letters now for the letter or you can add whatever you want but I'm going to use thissimple 8 inch wreath i made in my spring diy and the link is in the top right corner of this video and also the link in the description box below add a bow and voila here is the complete project.
I really love how it turned out and I can't believe I did it. This whole fence with paint sticks, these fake galvanized letters look so real and I'm really impressed with how adding that little bit of rust really makes them look authentic. Oh, I really love that I can swap out the wreath for Christmas decorations and for special occasions. an egg for easter a pumpkin for halloween or thanksgiving you name it and you don't have to use the galvanized letters try a different color make these stand out make it your own to coordinate with your home decor and remember not to you have to do it paint the fence you can even stain it or leave it natural it's up to you now for this project we will need some 5 gallon paint sticks for 98 cents from Lowe's and we will also need some one gallon paint sticks that are 98 cents from Lowe's Now we are going to need six of the one gallon bars and four of those five gallon bars for this project.
Now we will join pairs of bars to make it stronger, but first we are going to cut the gallon bars. Just before you get to that curve, you now need to keep in mind that the sticks have a printed side and a smooth side, so make sure the printed side is on the inside. Now I'm going to use this dollar tree wood glue to glue them all together. together you just want to apply a bead in the center and you want to press those sticks together and you want to apply clips if you have them and this will allow for a better bond and then you want to repeat this for the gallon sticks now once they are all dry we can go ahead and dye them, so gather your staining supplies.
Now we're going to use this Jacobian stain from minwax, but you can definitely use some antique wax or you can even use thinned acrylic paint if you want now you want to apply your stain all over your pieces including those ends and then repeat that for all the others remaining pieces. Now you'll notice that I missed that one stick was glued on the wrong side, but I'll place this piece back, so now that our pieces are dry we can start building our staircase and I'll use my mesh mat to make sure everything okay and still just put the pieces together, even make sure the stair treads are about six inches apart and once everything is in place, We can use a little bit of wood glue to adhere them all together now, once the glue hardens, we can add some of these three-quarter inch wire nails to the back to secure those steps.
Now you want to carefully flip that ladder over and we're going to drive in two nails. on each side, now holding the nails with needle nose pliers helps keep the nails nice and straight when hammering them in and here are all the applied nails in place now, as an optional accent you can add some thread around the end of every step. in x style and when we tie it in the back this is what it will look like. I have done it for each of my steps and here is the complete look and now all you have to do is add the towels of your choice and You are ready and now you can place this on your countertop.
How cute is this little ladder shelf. Now I love working with these wooden sticks and they make this a super easy and beautiful project to make, and these dollar tree towels are super cute. and they look great with all my other fall decorations, let me know in the comments where you would use this shelf in your home. Listen. I hope you all enjoyed seeing these creations again or for some of you for the first time. I hope everyone feels comfortable.
