right we have um we have a noble on the track in the show a ross noble which is brilliant because i've met him a couple of times doing qi and he's told me many many stories about his love of motorcycles tanks and so on so i'll be good um aston martin virage uh james may is testing that on the track so we've had to speed that up in the edit it will go on to 186 miles an and then we have a film across europe um the three of us driving through some of the best driving roads in fantastic hot hatchbacks on a lovely sunny day in southern in northern italy it's quite hard work no not hard it's the wrong word brilliant it was a fantastic film to make then well it's it's very much a party sort of place uh it has very elegant properties it's like monaco in many ways actually have you ever been to hammersmith and we all do like hot hatchbacks so we hope you enjoy that one and we end up of course doing a lap of the of the grand prix track here we go okay now we're coming down to chicago i think or is it cast them up so enjoy do now what we've done this week is we've accidentally made a car show we've got three films with very strong car content in them so lewis hamilton watch and learn this is how you pass a ferrari we've got a film about how much car you can buy for how little money hello hello i want one of these phones on a cord in my car we do have plenty of saliva it's on the car phone when you talk obviously little...

spatters and um james has been driving the range rover evoque we've even got a kari guest actually he's um oh um formula one driver sebastian vettel do you have a girlfriend is she wearing a helmet as well he has decided he would like to come on and try his hand in the old reasonably priced car to see if he can go faster than rubens paricello the current fastest so we're sort of looking at the weather because obviously if that lot dumps rain all over the track then he won't and if it doesn't he might it always is interesting when you have to interview the formula one driver on a wednesday which is what it is now for a program that goes out on a sunday just after the british grand prix finishers so we'll speculate shall we on on how he does is that is it we're on to the internet is that the internet out there internet's got as you probably know the first three programs of this

series

have been very car based um lots of individual films and it's gone down very well with our hardcore fans in minnesota and arizona arizona and the teenagers yeah yeah um this week that all stops little apology in advance no it's not an apology because i watched the program with my 12 year old daughter yeah and she's watched the last three like so she's been a bit puzzled about what's happened to top

gear

well this week it's for my 12 year old daughter i must say my kids last week walked out of the um cheap great cars yeah they're...

beautiful so we went board she fidgeted she was brought to tears and so we have to make the programme for everybody and so this week it's very much for the 12 year old and so is the week after if i'm honest well this week starts well if you're on one of our beloved followers on final

gear

it starts well because you've got like that over there ah and hammond uh where were we right so we've got yes we built this train and it's we don't do that in a preview well i'd like to you can't me the people who make trails of the bbc you know all agree no all when you went to see casino royale oh you have the cinema you see the harry potter trailer do they have harry potter going like that with his wand or do they have a massive battle and an explosion voldemort that's a mistake well they don't have ron weasley going this debate this is a debate he and i have a lot is he likes to g everybody up and say we've got a fantastic show lined up and arts go well it's not that good the new ceo of warner brothers jeremy clarkson there's too much in this trail do i don't like i don't like giving coming up in this week's show we have our answer to the problems facing public transport it's a railway says we're doing 80 miles an hour we have a jaguar mad car we have a nissan mind boggling and what else we got oh yeah rowan atkinson what a top chat thank you that's all there is i'm driving the nissan gt-r it says it...

here on the steering wheel like some other buttons i'm going off to test the launch control to see if it's as dramatic and as remarkable as jeremy says it's literally the most amazing car in the world dennis rice off you go all right goodbye dawn mirror is going to hit your camera shut up right what i'm going to do is drive down to the uh the main straight of our runway simply going to do a test of acceleration off the line this has a remarkable launch control system it has to be remarkable because this is a four wheel drive car that's difficult to get off the line it's also turbocharged that gives problems as well the computer in this does all the work for you it gets everything right throttle the actuation of the automatic clutch blah blah blah it all translates apparently to your head smacking the headdress like that as you go off so let's see here we are at the beginning of the main street it's all clear i've checked for incoming aircraft so here we are stop i put my foot on the brake it is in auto there is an a on there i'll push that one up that goes red i put that one down into comfort i put that one up that goes red everything is set i plant my foot on there and then i go bloody that's tremendous i've

never

gone off the line that well in a car not a car with launch control or anything that's that's just terrific so make sure it wasn't a fluke so you put your left foot on the brake plant throttle and that just...
tremendous piece of work i mean whoever did all the calculations for that bear in mind they've got to take into account in an instant what the road surface is like that is that is years worth of arithmetic all being done like that that's what computers are for it's bloody brilliant i'm going to do it again going the other way to see if it works just as well in a westerly direction sure it does this time i've got to remember to change up myself into second it all happens very quickly tremendous 150. that is absolutely spectacular do you know i think i should have one of these actually you know what i think jeremy's one of these is right up his street now look you are let's be honest given to a certain amount of hyperbole who me you yes sir but that is absolutely spectacular it is unbelievable it's perfect have you ever experienced deceleration absolutely i was just saying that it's like a year's worth of arithmetic is being done like that yeah because it also has to work out what the road surface is like an instant the wheels start moving and it gets it the only thing you have to do is you're so alarmed you forget to get there exactly you're always on the rev limit yes like a second later no what i did explain it is like press standing on the trigger for a bomb there is no car that accelerates from from over 30 yards like this one does nothing and a bike wouldn't because you wouldn't be able to keep it on the ground...
nothing does i once went on a drag snowmobile in scotland now in um not stockton sweden which i've always thought was the fastest accelerating thing known to men but this is quicker this is beyond belief quake you know what's the other weird thing you like it i do i like it i want it hello internet hello it's the internet yeah this is andy willman he's the producer i'm jeremy clarkson i'm one of the uh presenters hosts as you call them in minnesota stop on a stick and um we have an amazing show lined up for you this week we have some car content content in it and then quite a lot of no car content at all to annoy people on final

gear

more than last week viewer cars this week really yeah let's have a thing well okay so we start off with the jensen interceptor well that starts well yeah if you live in minnesota it is we do a proper sensible old-fashioned road test off the jensen interceptor for about and then four minutes and then it goes a bit silly and then we have the what's here swing around now that makes up for it i think for all the asking about that you'll discover what that is in the show i drive that my neck is hurting still um we'll be hoping to see how fast that goes around the track but uh it's july it's britain so if it rains that'll get abandoned unfortunately and then for the rest of the show yeah johnny lacy was saying lacey was here and um and then the rest of the show if you're a car enthusiast you know...
i'd stop there the other problem we've got this week which is the biggest one of them all is that this time we're told we've got to be 59 for reasons i don't understand but anyway well james but the interview should be quite short with the guest because he's once we've edited out the swear words i think we'll have a hello you laugh how are you today i'm not telling you it's a secret he swears he swears a lot a lot and he isn't gordon ramsay yeah uh and that's my radar dish so i can beam all around the world to see what's going on i can sit there he's his office he's caged barbed wire a couple of cones to stop riff raff getting in everything i need so it's a good show and um it is actually look james can you see the distances james spends most of his morning when we're supposed to be planning the show hanging around in that garage with nigel who he loves there's nigel i think he just said put these glasses on yeah i will do this first of all i just want to go and have a look to get some tools to help elijah he will when toby is all over that's where you'll find james yeah helping nigel drinking tea looking at old sepia colored photos yes do you remember the triumph 2 500 one more after this and then we've got to make some christmas tats i mean some dvds haven't we we've got to make some dvds as soon as this is over yeah we um we do the dvds and then we start filming for the next...

series

so see you then we filmed a spoof uh title sequence to a 70s sort of detective cop show thing called the interceptors because jeremy has been driving an inceptor so we all put stick on moustaches on i hit my real mustache in my pocket whilst we did this and wore sort of 70s clothes and then you know went around shooting at things and blowing things up and looking at women in bikinis and all the things they used to do at the beginnings of those programs and then we suggested to the audience that maybe they'd quite like to see that instead of regular top

gear

and i'd quite like to make it instead of regular top

gear

but the problem is the jensen interceptor is actually a bit crap and they don't work and they just weren't very good because most things weren't back in the 1970s we forget this we tend to look back on them fondly and think it was all just a funky shirt and a you know a prawn cocktail but actually it was power cuts strikes badly built cars that rusted awful tinned food outside bogs at my school my teenage years obviously they're terrible just awfulness really darkness black and white drizzle coldest disease hunger a man who came around in a van selling loaves of bread because we couldn't actually afford to build a bakery our favorite film from this

series

i think would be well mine would be the demolition film so that was pretty good best car i've driven in the

series

well best would have to be the mclaren mp4-12c sort of dull...
though it is it's a pretty impressive piece of engineering with this and um thank you very much for watching the viewing figures have been very good and you've all been very loyal and very patient with the elderly gentleman as we continue to plod our way through the world of cars thank you for all your constructive criticisms as well what yo go top here from nike one two three no no that was bozo 55. bozo 55 was yo yeah um sperm sandwich 737 of course says that this hasn't been as good as

series

12 and he hated that as well but they really i don't see a face you like like

series

13 though um genuinely heartfelt thank you for watching top

gear

still because we are getting older and fatter and slower and more blind and it's very nice to know that you still find what we do on a sunday evening entertaining enough for you to say no let's not watch country fire and it's also very nice to know that there are people in minnesota in wisconsin who go to all the bother illegally downloading the show and then complaining and then complaining about it so the british the british people pay their license fee for us to make this show and then it's stolen by people in wisconsin who then write and say i stole a program last week and it wasn't as good as the last program i stole which was rubbish anyway exactly and that's the essence of what's going on out there in america would you like this sandwich it's free it's horrible it's awful...
i've eaten it anyway
