Our opinions may vary on this or we may differ and that's okay, your song may not end up on this list, that's okay, make your own, that's okay, make your own at number 50, I'm down to earth, You wouldn't understand it, yeah, you wouldn't understand it, so soft and then subtle and just like sensual uh it's comforting it's relaxing 49 it's silk money with white people don't clean their chicken there may be some truth to this I'm not 100 sure I'll ever having eaten white people's chicken before though that's not the point the song is mainly about him having this like uh this anger just from being aware of everything that's going on right now that's been going on, he's just upset, he's just angry and as I think you describe it, there's no real flow, no vocal direction with this song, so don't go into it thinking it's going to have a normal structure, it just is what it is and I like it for what it is .

I didn't really love it, I love this track at first, but I keep coming back to it, it keeps coming into my rotation, shut up, I'm a weirdo, I hit a dog when I'm 43 years old. Ser J Cole with the back climb. I can't help but recognize the song that created a great moment for rap music. I guess maybe a lot of people don't like everything Cole released or had to say this year, obviously people liked it. problems with that, but the comeback climb was one of the singles that I thought his flow was fantastic. I thought he really improved as a rapper in terms of everything he used to release.

He seemed very active, very energetic, very animated on an instrumental like this. It's not the same cold we had three or four years ago, so I could see the improvement and I like it. I encourage you all, if you haven't, I'm not going to spoil anything. Listen and play his album well. it's really interesting, it's really cool, but one song that I think really had a highlight this year was Don't Make Me Wait at number 41. I'm going to put Brent Fails with Cloudet. This song was amazing, and even though it's not really that complex when it comes to production or anything, I think just being able to approach the solar rap type performance by adding that '90s feel and mixing it with current generation tropes, I think that that's exactly the kind of music I need to help push R B into more explicit territory.
I was a superstar when I was 19 years old. I feel like I'm dying. Yes, it's inevitable that every time Fleet Foxes release an album, one of their songs makes it into my top 50. That's almost a given and this one is no exception at number 40. Can I Believe You? Although I wasn't a big fan of the entire album, I still like some of the songs on Phoebe Bridger's most recent favorite album, probably from the project Punisher is running 38. the jewels with ooh la la at number 37 I have thundercat with dragon ball do-rag this song is incredibly sensual calming groovy funky at number 36 i have don toliver with waste this wasn't supposed to be here after the party but Wasted is much softer, it's much dreamier, much more ethereal.
Don Tyler's voice sounds like he's on a bed of clouds as he raps and sings through this, so I like the melody of this song too, at number 35, I got g. Herbo glass in the face I can't tell you how many times I've heard this song this year and a boogie really kills this hook for me, so at number 34 I have Skull Crusher with places and plans. I love the avians in this track so much because it helps keep you going like this, this hand reaching out to someone, bringing them closer to this new world or this new area, she's singing about being eager to be exposed to this new world, gorillas with what so far introducing skepta.
I think skepta absolutely destroys her verse on this track at number 31. We have Fiona Apple with her Ladies track at number 30. We have Sue Surf with Nana's Crib. I love Nana's Crib Man. This track is absolutely phenomenal and for some reason. león used to admire him now i have to admire him he has never left my mind g herbo i think he kills his feature here i also think he is a great track man and i heard that in the back he just saved the whole track was amazing at 29 i got Moses Sumney's cut. 28 is going to be Barty Strange with the boomer track from him.
I love how the content of this track doesn't match at all with the genre you think it will belong to. and I think we should explore more of that number 27. I have Chico with his track designer. I love how much variation there is in this track. How many times does the instrumental evolve? And I really like his flow in how he adapts. the beat changes really effortlessly the sample at the beginning is fantastic and y'all know I'm a fan of that at number 26 I have lil uzi vert with his track prices y'all know how much I love this track. when i first heard it but i just went up in price that because of that chorus it will never get old for me number 25 is arlo parks with the black dog a song about depression uh from his point of view he's watching someone go through it and deal with this and it is putting her in a painful state, but she knows it and is aware of how painful it is for this person to have to go through that. jay noir is extremely candid about his love life on the winter track along with apollo brown's production and beautiful somber jazz background on track number 23 i have the deep reverence of big sean and nipsy hustle y'all know how much i love this track y'all You know how much I love California, the Bay Area and in Detroit merging making music distant cousins and so I love music that fuses those two worlds those two areas of the US I love that track number 22 it's too comfortable from the future this this track is fantastic bro it's got such a vibe it's so wavy it's cool it's so fluid let the future talk about your look man everyone can hate as much as they want sometimes mcdonald's is just hidden i don't know what's worse than get caught eating mcdonald's or get caught watching fact number 21, it will be chloe x holly with her song uh, uh, I wonder what she thinks of me and they have the interpretation or they have the lover's perspective in this song and it's really disgusting at first, but it's sung in such a beautiful way that it distracts from the fact that she's a local record number 20 going to be drake chicago freestyle i wasn't expecting drake to get this high on the list, but gibeon's performance in the hook and then drake with this eminem inspired flow i love it man and even the flows from Kendrick Lamar's untitled master also make their way onto this track.
I think Drake was very clever with this track and I ended up listening to it a lot more than I thought I would. Number 19 is soccer mom with the color yellow. From his eyes, this song was extremely heartbreaking. I felt so sorry for her and her mother when she was talking about her mother going through this illness and that yellow was the literal color of her eyes while she was going through this, although that is to be expected. It still feels like a buildup, like in case I lost my mom, this is what I would say, it's a buildup for your mom dying and, um, I don't know, that's just it sucks, so I don't anymore.
I listen to a lot of metal music, um. I found My Dying Brides, uh, Your Broken Shore, to be a great intro track, not just on this intro track but on the entire album. I feel like they capture the understanding of your sadness, your emotions, and the circumstances you find yourself in, without seeming emo. or without being melodramatic, I think that a lot of what they have to talk about on this album is very mature. Number 17 will be Conway the Machine with Always Drop In Tears, a tribute song to Shay, uh, DJ Shea, who passed away earlier this year.
At number 16 I'm going to put 21 Savage with his song. A lot of men that I love not only on this album, how they explore horror and trap music, but especially on this track it reminds me a lot of something that I feel like John Carpenter would have had something to do with. in a melodic and commercial way, they capture the horrors of the street and I love the hook reference to 50 cent, it just can't get any better than this number 15. I'm going to put the little baby with the Bigger Picture A little baby matured a lot in this song.
I didn't expect it to come from him this year, but I have to tell you that when I heard it it was just great. I thought he dove into some topics that he'd never dove into before. I don't expect this to come from him and I don't expect him to do it better, but he's one of those artists who was blatantly afraid to even say in this song that I don't know if making a song like this is I'm going to have something done to me. , it's finally his turn this year, as he says, you know, he felt the fear of possibly ruining that by talking about something like this and he did it despite and the action of doing that was combined with the You know, in my opinion, the thoughtfulness of this clue made me respect it as if clue number 14 was going to give in like it loved you.
I don't need to say anything. Givian's voice is simply fantastic. I mean, that's all. the most you need to listen to if you've heard gibeon you know why he's here to tame impala kevin forgives his father for posthumous forgiveness he's incredibly dreamy incredibly spacious he puts himself on a stage to confront his past and I completely respect track number 12 is It's Gonna Be Childish Gambino and 21 Savage with the song 1238. I feel like a lot of people forgot about songs like this because of how forgettable their album was, but songs like this really made me appreciate, you know, the evolution of the song, the growth of the song , knowing that 21 could. comes into a track and fleshes out this performance and the childish gambino gives vocal inflections reminiscent of jpeg mafia at the beginning and then has his own flair to add to it, it's incredibly groovy for the duration, just a little vocal break in the middle that even today still reminds me of jeremiah number 11 it's going to be daring james with light bill i think this is probably one of daring james if it's not his best hook pull up with the right people with some blues with xs i love this track I love how it fuses uh rock and pop and does it effortlessly throughout the entire song.
I love the guitars during the hook. I love his voice. I love everything about this track. It's so soft and not so soft. It's melodic, it's catchy. Yes it's pop music but.. it's not cheesy I love Benny the butcher with a one way flight I love this sample I love Benny's flow I love his mastery of this track I love his lyrics I love Freddie's performance gibbs which I actually didn't think was coming because they made it look like the track was going to end the loop is amazing it's crazy and the track is so loud and bright and sunny I set a pair of jaws let it fluff until It became difficult, I have no idea how old this hat is. oh my god, this hat is old at number eight.
I have Kyle. I love it. This is probably one of his best written songs. Just a tribute to his family. And I love that transparency. I mean, I think we understand it a lot, but. This is like one of the few times we have it in direct format where it's not accompanied by a metaphor. Freddie Gibbs with Scotty Beam is probably one of the softest tracks of the year, busting the police before Queen and Slam which is on the fan let. take 50 shots of the squad card and win the weekend with blinding lights, man this song is fantastic, they really dove into their synth pop bag here, their 87th wave, i love this whole album, after hours grew a lot in me and all of you.
You'll see in my top 50 albums video how much it grew on me. I love this song. I think the weekend vocal is perfect on this track, as it is on many of the off-schedule tracks, and yet Caroline Rose has the track of hers that I took. a walk, this track right here is synth sex, synth sex for a synth hole, even the guitar with kerosene, what elseWhat is there to say?, the voice is interrupted between what else there is to say about this song. Beautiful combination of psychedelic soul and rock that I love. I love this song Let me hide my eyebrows I love this song I bought the vinyl just for that song Just for that song Now of course there are others that you know I'm not going to talk about now that we're about to get unlucky 'cause that one was my number four spot and my number three spot is Mac Miller with good news and the next two clues.
I'm going to name this as a one, two, three combo because they're all so depressing, they're so terrible. I'm listening to the track and hearing everything that's happening in

2020

all year long and I had a horrible thought you know so don't take what I'm about to say as my word or something I'm standing on but the thought came to me at that very moment. Wow, he got out of here before hitting the fan, how would mac miller have been doing during quarantine? That was my first thought and I just felt sad. I got sad because I think what is the hope for a person who experiences the things that he experiences when he is in when he is. in seclusion when they're in solitude and it made me think oh there's probably a mac miller in this town or mac miller in this town and I'm just listening to the song getting sad, I'm getting sad over and over and over and over again for this whole year, the song itself is about people wanting things to be better than they really are for you because they don't really want to be uncomfortable and having that song released posthumously is the biggest pain in the world as a listener and as a fan by Mac Miller, number two is going to be James Moldy with Mommy Dearest, not only do I really relate to the story he's telling, it's that of someone dealing with toxicity, but it's a lot deeper than you know have.
Family problems when you feel like the people who brought you here don't love you or you feel like the people who brought you here wouldn't be bothered if you just showed up missing, they have priorities on other things, everything else in their life. comes before you his responsibility in quotes, he doesn't feel sorry for himself, you know, bully james is not talking about the things he talks about in this song with the intention of people trying to feel bad for him and i think that exterior As you develop as you grow, you simply learn to accept those things as normalities.
You come to accept those things as, oh, it is what it is. You know that's my mom or that's my dad and you just know that's who they are. That's how they raise me, that's how they, that's the greatest love they've given me, so I have to accept that it's strange to be the only one who remembers the forgotten child and my number one song of 2020 is going to be j electronica con jay-z with his theme, all praise is due to Allah, like I said, you understand that you get hit one, two, three right when you're dealing with the loss and you're dealing with the pain and you.
I'm dealing with having lost all of these. I have numbers on my phone. I can't text again. I have them on my phone just so I can remember, so I can keep that last contact. Oh my gosh, the color this track has when you listen to it, you just hear all the colors in the universe, they appear immediately. It's like a huge variety of emotions that hit you all at once. You can hear these little birds singing in the background at first. I'm sitting here in the ocean. just looking at all my problems and my pains just delete my phone it will never ring again, I took a screenshot of them so I have them.
I don't want this that's totally different, um, but those are my songs of the year. My songs of the year for 2020. Can I eat now? I don't feel well. Oh yeah, but thanks for watching. Let me know what your favorite song of 2020 is or your top 10 this year. And yes, they have done it.
