Top 5 Must Have Items for the Milwaukee Tools Packout System. ( Mods and Hacks)

Jun 07, 2021
Alright, I

have

something exciting for you. What I'm going to do is my top five

mods

. Now I'll warn you if it looks like I

have

Tourette's or some kind of involuntary expanding arm, blah blah, it's the flies. I don't know what it is about that, they're attracted to me, I

must

smell good so excuse me for that, let's get that out of the way so I'll give you my top five that you don't have to agree with. You don't have to like it, but I'm going to give you as much information in this video and in the description so you can find these things too, so top five, number five.

Now what I want you to do. I'm going to pause, you come in and you start commenting and you start telling me what your top five are, let's see if we can line you up on something, so number five is stands and cleats and right here I have a bunch of stands and cleats, like this there's the

milwaukee

bracket the package bracket there's aftermarket brackets all these cute little brackets there's some cool studs out there I'm going to show you, but what I think is what I like about the bracket configuration and the studs so this is one from Rainbow Lane Speed this is a pit piece we had it powder coated for the Jigs Girls jeep but it's powder coated steel and it works with all Milwaukee's just like the one does packing bracket and then you can weld this bolt, whatever you can get a lower profile. than the one from

milwaukee

, it's pretty good, I have them in aluminum and the same concept packs the stand box or attaches it to something, you can also mount some of the things that require a little less weight with one of these using the back and you can also hang boxes on this and that's very cool, I'll show you, so here's a box and here's its bracket so this slat goes on the wall and then you can have a much less expensive way of mounting than buying the full size from Milwaukee, so this bagpipe is pretty sweet.

We also made this for the Jigs Girls jeep. This will go on the tailgate now. If you've seen any of my other videos, I have brackets like this, this is for the passenger compartment of my Raptor and I. put this if I raise the seat and I want to put a stack inside the cabin, I can lower this and with this wider base and the way it fits in there, the packages don't fall out, they hit the windows, they fall forward, they hit the seating. any of those things like that, so this is a pretty nice little setup because of the way this support

system

works, you can attach them to the wall studs, they have 16 in the center, sideways or vertical horizontal, ready if have you seen the raptor in bed i have two of these on a piece of pressure treated plywood that has been raptor coated to make it a little more durable so yeah brackets and cleats that's my number five wait but wait, there's more, there are other guys out there, this is from Stack Smarter.

This is a board that clips onto the packs that allows you to then use the VersaStack T-Stack setup. You can see it just clips onto the pack holder, but I can come here, I can come here, I can clip it onto my pack stack and now I can put a versastack or a t-stack here. The cool thing about this is that this is one of his prototypes that he first made and it also has a plate that could take p-stack and versastack back into the pack. Take out so you can have a set of drawers in the middle and then repack so this stand and these tacos are amazing and speaking of tacos, here's another example.

See, I have two of the 3D printed cleats that I assembled here and This is kind of a universal transportation to the house. Think about the barn stack, the way the supports are placed on the back of this box. There you go, I've put all kinds of things in there and these are just some inexpensive 3D printed ones. cleats we sell, I think it's an electron smith design and you can see two screws per bracket, it's thin plywood but it never fails, I think it's a pretty nice little setup and that's definitely one way to hang it like I said. an electron smith benjamin johnson design so those are the brackets so let's go ahead and see what the number four is oh i didn't see you there don't forget i did it all for nookie feet milwaukee foot design i would say It's pretty amazing and deserves to be on this list because of that, the way things come together is one of the reasons why the

system

is as strong and as good as it is and with the 3D printing and CNC community and all that.
The things you can do with these 3D printed feet are amazing. This is a cross section of one of the backup kits we have, but this one was designed by Electron Smith. It has others. This is a design of. Ours is basic and this stand allows you to do a lot of things, I mean literally, here's my drink, let's put it away here's a cup holder, this is an Electron Smith design, it snaps right into the backpack, oh wait, Not my battery. you're wondering why because it's on a 3D printed stand that's on a 3D printed locking foot right there put the stand in place lock it in place grab the battery arm this thing what are you asking ?
It is a 3D printed container with a stand on top, this container is actually made to sit on one of the thicker packages and then stack another package container on top of it, but this is so you can place your hardware and take it with you and so that this container does not fall. all this setup over your backpack and close it in on what else you can do with your feet. Well, you can get it if you don't want to wait for Milwaukee to do it. One of the kits Ben designed. We sell the vacuum cleaner.
What are you doing? We call it a backup gasket kit and this allows you to remove the back of the wet and dry vac and put it in there now. Milwaukee finally, when I first recorded this video the footage was lost, but when I first recorded it it wasn't. You don't know, Ben and I work together, mostly me, kind of a monkey in the corner with a couple of hammers and some duct tape. This is a 3D printing kit that goes right into your m18 wet dry pack with a latch and some o-rings. and all that other good stuff that you can put right into your wet and dry vacuum and make it compatible again or pack it up.
I was showing you 3D printed feet, so with some of the 3D printed feet we sell, I printed some and attached them. to a table and this is my pocket hole system Craig, so when I go to work and I want to have a workbench but I don't want to set everything up for that, I don't want to screw to the table or whatever I put this on top and now I have a nice stable place to drill holes and when I'm done I can take it out, put it in my vehicle, or keep it on a shelf. 3D printed feet work too. with things like there is a locking holder for an m18 battery you can put almost anything where these holders go if you unscrew we have 20 ounces we have made some for yeti cups i am working with a battery, not a battery, with a magnet holder and a couple other things, that's why I love the 3D printed feet and that's why I love the foot design that Milwaukee came out with, the locking system on the heavy duty system and now the test system won't let you put things on either. like this without a plate and I just don't think you can beat this design.
It's amazing and it allows you to do a lot of things, that's why I put feet on this list and that's why it's number four, number, trace three friends, what's it going to be? What did you guess? Did they put it in the comments? I hope they did because my pick for number three is the rail system. Now the rail system only comes on the large bottom unit and the middle unit. Okay, but this rail system and, uh, if you guys. I haven't heard of the packable tool. It's like the og that made accessories for this rail system.
This is one of the first things that came out. It's called cobra cable. It is like a printed part reinforced with carbon fiber. Prints them in 3D. he's working on CNC machines, he does a lot of other CNC stuff, uh, and he's been updating all of his stuff so there's a couple different versions, but this stuff is awesome. There's a video he has where he takes like a little sledgehammer and he's smashing it. these things to see how easy they break they're pretty strong so i got this from a packable tool uh the guy's name is alex pretty awesome there's a ton of different things that go into this system so again we said cover of cable, that's one here it's holding my level it's called level lizard again 3D printed it has new versions that are aluminum which I think are already available uh but talking about aluminum and then this rail system this support here is called joey and if you remember I talked about brackets and cleats, I've saved those separately for this rail system because the things you can do with this, so it doesn't modify this rail at all, in fact, these are set screws and they just you slide the rails out, slide the bracket, and slide the rails.
Put the set screw back in and what does that give you? It allows you to take something like this box, attach it to the front and now you can stack another configuration of packages. You can fill this with some buckets of chemicals, you know, gallon jugs, whatever. what you want and can, instead of having a super high package, you can do it like this. Now I've seen some torture evidence of people putting little kids and stuff on top or stacks of double wide triple lines, you name it, it's strong. The rail system is sturdy, it doesn't go anywhere, so it's a great packable tool design.
In fact, all of this rail system, uh, are packable and it's just some amazing things that this rail system did. to my number three because the capability that this gives you there's a guy called Cooper's Customs that does a CNC I actually think their stuff is hand machined not CNC they clamp in here to make a cup holder which is one of the first things which made could hold one of those really big yeti mugs. It also has some CNC level mounts and tool holders like that. Use the small belt clip that comes on the back of the drill, on the side of the drill. you can put a tape measure or a drill hanging on it and those things are CNC, those things are very strong, huh, so I love the rail system and I definitely think it's worthy of being on this list, let's move on to number two, this is fred pan the flag fred likes to get weird on fridays he's upset okay number 2 two that's four but two p whatever so they should have put this in the comments.
I should have seen it already, but the bit, the bin bit is. almost the best invention I've ever seen for this packaging system and you say what's a little big, well let me tell you a story, look at that frigging season frigging fly, so the Milwaukee shockwave bits are fine, There are a couple of different types. but as you can see shockwave bit sets, people buy them and then throw them into their big package and it looks disorganized. I've seen a couple of people take some of these and open them like this, cut the tabs and take the Take out the containers and put them here and they look amazing, it's great, it does the job, it's nice and well organized, but there is an inventor out there, his name is benjamin johnson, but he goes by electron smith, who designed a container based on this profile. here Milwaukee has this set of shock wave drill bits and this profile with these bumps allows you to take size measurements, these ones, not these ones, they come here somewhere else and they put them inside a container and that container looks like this, like this that this is a bit bin and this is a standard rectangle, we call it and it's a v2 and what this bin allows you to do is mount settings and you can mount the original Milwaukee bits, which are these and these are the ones that I actually sent him a photo and I said dude, you should think of something like this and he did, but he does, he does a lot more good, so this is a T-shank jigsaw stand with lock, and what this allows you to do is to put it here so instead of just using milwaukee bits that come in the shock wave cases he designed this and then you slide this little tab and now they're locked he also designed so if you don't want to buy the whole shockwave bit, set up the actual 3D printed supports that looks like this guy and this can go on the milwaukee one or it can go on the ones we print.
He also then duplicates here, so here's the puzzle one with a little slide, so he duplicated them and dropped them into a file format called openscad and that allows you to customize it, which we've done and others, so this is like a couple of design iterations that we've done and what we did with this is we designed sexy bend sds bit holders that everyone was asking us to do. do you have sds holders do you have yes we have it here there's a lot that locks into place but comes out swings down it's out of the way the 3d printed holders see this is a weha nut driver set that fits double stack do you have?
TRUE? So with OpenSCAD you can design a lot of different chucks. So I said I wanted to make router bits and what I did was I customized the quarter inch bit,I just made the slot square and there is a router. holder and then I made a big one for half inch bits and here on my router bit box this is what I was doing something like that for all my bits and now I can do something like that and when I'm working I can go out here and go like this and I can have them all and I can take them out I can say oh no I don't want this one and I can take it out I can put it back they stay there they're not bouncing around they don't bump into each other so boom okay it's a way to organize things and they're customizable you can customize them yourself, we sell a lot of different sizes, we sell 7 16 for your large auger bits, we sell a half inch for your router cut a quarter inch for your small router bits here is just what we did: we took a wave bit shock, we opened it, took out all the guts and just put it in a container, so this is a titanium one with the double side.
People always ask us what I want to wear. my bits in I want to put my bits in I said well if you have the shock wave set you can literally take that set out put it in here and you guys have a little bit of setup this is one of the paddle bit sets that he made milwaukee that I gathered inside these containers and put them in this half profile. I also have a beefier one that has spade bits. has a bunch of my countersinks in the milwaukee line. It has my jigsaws. has version 2, that these things are kind of the default configuration, I can't adjust the position of that, so this big container whose layout folds allows you to do a lot and then I expanded on what I was talking about because a lot of people want to put containers of bits in this thicker package, so you have your container and if you put two together, they don't have one and the bottom doesn't like to go in there because of the thickness of this edge and it's not the same height as one of these containers, so What did you think I gave it a name, we call it a bunk container, so this container goes in its place and then another container is placed on top of it. whether it's one from milwaukee or one of the ones we print and then you can have it seal the lid and lock into place well, what allows you to do that?
Here's one of the big daredevil bit sets with the big guy, okay, so that's an inch and a half and with this you have three rows, okay, so the paddle can go all the way down and touch that and then I can put this on top and it will clean up and now I can have a big old paddle that's built in here, throw my screwdrivers on top and there's a complete package, no, not complete, but that's one way to do it. You can get it with these bunk containers, you can get six containers here or you can do something like this where you have hardware nuts and bolts on these side screws and then all your controllers and things like that for your common job that you're doing sds so you can have tapcons there, screwdrivers for your tapcons. hvac, you could have fixtures or you could take them out and put capacitors in there, whatever, so this package setup with this bit container has allowed for so much customization that you honestly can't shake a stick, so that's the way it is. why bit containers are my number two and number twos are good so let's move on to number one.
I hope you guessed it right. number one, number one, the big hacienda, the best, the number one thing that I like for the packaging system. things is the cat's meow that makes everything you do in a package so much better you can do amazing things with these things you can cut them you can skip them you can what the heck you can organize them it's kaizen foam kaizen foam you You can do a lot with this foam, let me show you what you can do with this foam. Here you have a well cut piece. It is cut for a set of glasses.
Well, here is a set of handcrafted glasses that you wanted to put in a package. so kaizen foam cuts this to the right for the right side, there's a left side that allows you to take your containers out of this, you put this guy in and you get a knife and you customize it to fit any of your

tools

, it's okay so if you want take a drill and place it on a piece of kaizen foam you get a marker you trace it you have it now this one would do it on a thicker one right but you can do a lot more with it here's one that I made for my setup pex and this little embellishment, this is the open m12 expander or pex, a piece of kaizen foam that was cut to fit the dies, the device itself and then since I had a lot more of these, I want because this is what I really I use more when I do this because I like to keep my pipe down because nobody likes a pipe that just moves so I always have tons of this, a little bit of lube for your tip because you have to Keep these tips lubed here where they're smiling .
I can see it, but here's a package that I want to have everything where I want it when I need it and I don't want to go looking for it right, so I actually have a little 3D printed container for that, I have some of the extra accessories or expansion couplers , whatever you want to call them, uh valves, so if I need to quickly replace the toilet valve or something, I have them there, clamps for my pec pipe the gun I can come here do like this close it and I know my tool is protected it's safe because you have to keep it safe you have to wrap it in something so the kaizen foam allows you to do all that, you can get these things in different thicknesses, but here's a thicker one, so it's perfect for something like this m12.
You can place it here, you can trace it and now you have a shape that, if you look like this. it fits easily in there and there is actually room inside the backpack let me grab one so this is the standard picnic take out the containers I need I only have a left one and a vertical one I need the one underneath so here you can see when you order them from kaizen foam, they're set up to fit in there and there's a gap that gives you more room and now you can place this here, track it, you can plan ahead and put in battery slots or battery slots and with it being foam, you know that your tool is protected because it's pre-it's in that foam and it's padded and obviously the package is pretty durable.
The only way I've broken one of these before is that I said it was. Pretty durable on a video lens and I had it open like this and I threw it and one of these corners hit the ground and broke. I've seen vcg throw these things off roofs like this, you name it and so far I haven't seen it. They break like this, I'm sure this clear plastic lid is probably the easiest piece to break, but you know with a piece of foam in a box like this that drill will be nice and safe, they do a kaizen called a kaizen cut. kit that has all the

tools

you need to be able to cut one of these.
You can also use a standard knife and a hot iron to flatten the bottom. I have some of that somewhere, but kaizen foam is definitely number one. the things you can do with this kaizen foam the customization uh the custom proofs and we'll come back after these messages so I needed a knife because I wanted to cut something actually this is just a piece of foam from kai's head and this is it's not the knife you would use, but a sharp knife that you can cut right into these things. This is one I was trying. This is the profile of a rasp, but they have a file, if you want, you can use that to file them. flatten this out, but you can get kaizen foam and a ton of thicknesses, as you can see, this is designed for your standard profile pack, these are intended for your low profile packs, they're actually intended for the thicker packs, eh, that don't have the clear lids so you can really personalize a box and you can do a lot of things, you get a knife, you get your phone, you track it, you come here and you get a professional, a hole that you can pretty much just stick your finger under . and you dig it out and then if you cut it everywhere it comes out and whatever shape you cut out you just dig with your finger down and you usually just want to cut based on how deep you plan to dig out and then you take your finger and just start cleaning the hole, which sounds interesting, but you know, there's a hole, so this kaizen foam because of the way it comes off, you can set your depth and because it cuts and holds a line pretty well, because I mean.
You can see how sharp that line is, you can see how sharp that line is, but because of the way this material takes and holds the line pretty well, you can really personalize your backpack and what I also like about the custom ability of this foam is Look at this, if I had this in my toolbox and it was empty, I would know that I was missing the entire socket. Set my pex big. If I have it there and it's empty, I know I'm missing the dies. or one of the batteries, having this allows you to do what some people call uh 5 or everything in its place, everything has a place and everything in its place and that's what I like about organization, that's what I like of the packaging system and that's what allows you to make kaizen foam actually kaizen foam works for almost any toolbox.
You can get this foam in just sheets and put it in your toolbox at home and customize it, but because of the endless customization possibilities that you can do with these, from the thicknesses because to the right colors because they have layers of abs where you can strengthen them and lift them up, they're called lifting layers because of all the combinations that kaizen foam has for this setup, that's why it's number one for me, I love what you can do with it, I love being able to keep things organized, you can actually see that I have cut a lot of uncut foam because I have been too busy keeping them supplied with 3D printed materials. things and I need to spend more time tracking down some tools, but I have time like I have a hole in my head, so I hope everyone is around.
I hope you all agree with some of my things if you had some better ones. options, I'd certainly love to hear some of your top five for packaging system. Certainly, if you're not a milwaukee and you don't like packaging and you have a heavy duty system, you have the fez tool, the sustainer, you have the t-box the l box whatever leave your ideas still below because the customization uh really applies to almost anything you customize the toolbox you customize a package you customize it you can transfer those things to other systems the ability to organize your tools have everything where you need it keep it safe keep it safe is what I love about the package is what I love about any toolbox system honestly and I think the bundle gives you the most options and these are my top five that I go to when someone says I'm going to buy a milwaukee bundle what should I do?
I list these things. You should get some kaizen foam number one, number two you should get some containers of bits because if you have bit holders, sockets, jigsaw blades, sds, whatever. you can put it in there, number three, the rail system, you can get the cable cobra, no more tangled cables, you can get the leveler lizard to have your levelers on the side, you can take the joey up to where you can mount things on the front of If that thing is awesome, you can put some of the lock batteries on it, whatever, you could do cool things with it and then get some 3D printed feet and some plywood or some CNC feet from uh kaizen, get some of the feet and fix them. to a board and build a workbench with the packages.
Heck, there's a couch package. It's amazing what you can do with bundles and feet and then get supports. Place brackets on your garage wall. Get some boxes. Place all your. chemicals your cleaning supplies whatever you want your brackets on the wall you hang your package things stay out of the way you have a designated spot for a container or a package or you name it with a bracket and you'll know where you put things when you walk in there and you're changing work on your vehicle, your work vehicle, whatever, you go back out, well the stand will keep your backpack from tipping over, so this is it again, I said my five, I'd love to see what your five is and I appreciate that everyone be watching and uh well I'm Jacob and this is all telling us to pack our bags thanks again everyone oh hi I'm Jacob welcome okay I'm probably going to edit all of that out.
Out blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
