Tell them why they should hire you. You might say, "You should hire me because I will learn the job quickly and start contributing positively to the team as quickly as possible." That's the first question of the interview. The second question number two of the interview is… WHY DO YOU WANT TO WORK FOR US? Why have you chosen our company? Why do you want to work for us? Here are my tips for answering this and getting a high score. Focus on three things during your answer to this interview question. Say that you are attracted to the fact that they have interesting plans for the future.
top 21 interview questions and answers for 2020
Then you have entered their website. You can see that they are a highly trusted and respected company and that they have exciting plans for the future, and you would like to be a part of them. Let's say the fact that they have a “strong reputation” in the industry is also attractive to you because they have high standards and also the fact that you feel that your skills, qualities and attributes will be put to good use while working for them. So when they tell you why you want to work for us, you can say, “Well, I want to work for you for three specific reasons.” and then tell them those three reasons.
Next question. Interview question number three: "What are your strengths?" or "What are you good at?" We need to give them strengths that are attractive to them. So how do we respond to that? Be sure to read the job advertisement or job description before attending the interview and then match your strengths to those listed there. So, for example, if one of the key requirements for the position you're interviewing for is working as part of a team, let's say one of my strengths is that I'm great at working with other people to complete difficult tasks on time. Or let's say one of the key job requirements is to provide customer service.
You can tell I'm great at always putting clients first and will do my best to do a great job for them. So, that's the first tip: read the job ad and then list your strengths along with those there. A great strength that you can use if you are struggling to find one is, you know, my strength is my ability to take on and complete multiple tasks while working under pressure. This is very attractive to any hiring manager or employer. Another great strength is their ability to always put the customer first. And it's also important that you understand how important customer service is to the success of your business.
Basically, if businesses don't have customers (and returning customers), they will go out of business and you, as an employee, will have to provide excellent customer service. Next question. Question number four: WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST WEAKNESS? Guaranteed to be an interview question during your interview! But again, we must be very careful when answering this question. So here are some tips. Make sure you give a weakness. So I've been in interviews before where I interviewed people and said, What's your weakness? They say I really don't have any weaknesses. Those people who say that are not being sincere, we all have weaknesses.
However, the two important things here are the fact that you are aware of what weaknesses you have and also what you are doing to rectify them. Don't mention a weakness that matches the job description or person specification. Look at the job ad and if you have to work under pressure to complete difficult tasks, don't say, "Well, my weakness is that I'm not very good at working under pressure." Because you won't get the job! So, my favorite weakness to expose in this type of scenario where you answer the interview question: what are your biggest weaknesses? I would say, “I've been criticized in the past for my inability to say no to people.
I’m usually the first person to volunteer and put their hand up for extra tasks, and sometimes I get overworked.” If you told me that, yeah, that's a weakness because you can't say no. But if you work for me and you're always going to say “yes” to jobs, that's very attractive to me as an employer; I would like you to work for me. Question number five: WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN FIVE YEARS? There is a specific reason why they want to ask you this question. Just one reason. They are going to spend time, money and resources training you for the position, and then if you leave within 12 months, they will have to find someone else.
And it is not easy to find the right person, going through a personnel selection process. That's why they want you to stay there for a long period of time. When you answer this question, you should say that you will continue to work for them. This is very important. Let's say you expect to be competent in the position and highly respected by your coworkers, supervisors, and peers. So if you were to say to me, where do you see yourself in five years, I would be saying, "Well, first of all, I still hope to work in this position and be competent and respected by my coworkers, managers, and staff." supervisors.” I would then go on to say, “I would also be willing to help train other people in roles similar to this, due to the length of time I will be here and also the experience I would have gained within the role. .” So that would be my model answer to that question.

Question number six of our top twenty-one interview questions for 2020. Why do you want to leave your job? Tough question, but there is an easy way to answer it. So why do you want to quit your job? Here are some tips. Do not, under any circumstances, criticize or be disrespectful to your co-workers or boss. Don't say I want to quit my job because I just don't get along with the team or they don't understand me.
There is a better way to answer this. The good thing I can say is... "Basically, now I am ready for a new challenge in which my skills and qualities will be used." Therefore, you will leave your previous job on good terms and with fond memories of the great things you accomplished while working with your previous employer. You have to put yourself in the interviewer's shoes. What do they want you to say? That is the key tip to pass any interview. If you were interviewing me and said why do I want to leave my job? And I said I didn't really get along with my boss.
You don't know the circumstances surrounding that situation, or all you hear is that I'm negative. Well, then we must avoid that at all costs. Interview question number seven. When have you provided excellent customer service? So this is a behavioral type interview question, a difficult interview question. My advice is to make sure you give a SPECIFIC EXAMPLE of when you have provided excellent customer service, and you do this using what is called the STAR technique. When constructing your response, use SITUATION, TASK ACTION and RESULT. I'll give you an example of that in a second. So, here's my sample answer to the interview question: When have you provided excellent customer service?
Here we go. “While working at a previous job, I helped a customer who was having trouble choosing a specific product for his needs. I spent time explaining to them the products we had available and which ones I thought would best suit their needs. Although it took me longer than usual to deal with the customer, I felt it was important to provide excellent customer service in line with my employer's customer service values. Once I was done helping the customer, they thanked me for the time I had taken to make sure they got the right products and then they left and left a positive review online.” This is a specific scenario that uses situation, task, action and a positive outcome at the end.
Interview question number eight. What would you do if you didn't get along with someone on your team? This is preventing some form of conflict. What would you do if you didn't get along with someone on your team? Now, some people will say, well, to be honest, it wouldn't be my problem. It would be your problem. I get along with everyone. I would just leave them and get on with my work. That's not what you mean here! How do you answer this question? First of all, be the best person. Let's say you would approach the situation positively with a view to resolving any conflict quickly.
Now remember this. The objectives and goals of your employer, the company you work for, should always come first. Any form of conflict in the workplace is counterproductive. It's negative. Therefore, you should be the one to fix it quickly. Now, if you can't fix it, you will always act professionally at all times and do your best to get along with the person for the good of the team. The important thing here is to always put the team and the company you work for first. Question number nine of our top twenty-one interview questions for 2020. How do you handle pressure?
Some people can't handle the pressure. The way to handle pressure is to understand what it is and how to prioritize your task. Say... "I understand that pressure is part and parcel of daily work life, and in fact, I perform very well while under pressure." And so the best way to work under pressure is to follow these three things. Number one, I say I prioritize which tasks are the most important and which ones I should do first. I will then make a list of priority tasks and what date and time they need to be completed. And then, number three, I will work solidly and put in extra hours if necessary, to get the task done, within the given deadline.
This shows that you have a logical approach to handling pressure in the workplace. Interview question number 10. Why should we hire you? Sometimes this is put differently. Why should we hire you and not the other applicants? The best way to answer this is to simply say this. “I have read the job description in detail and firmly believe that I have the necessary skills, qualities and attributes to carry out the job to a very high level, and if hired, I will work hard to fit into the team, so we can get started to contribute positively in a very short period of time.” That's a short, strong, positive statement that would appeal to any interviewer or recruiting manager!
Interview Question number eleven. When have you worked as part of a team? Again, it is a behavioral type interview question. Be sure once again to use a star technique of situation, task, action, result and when creating an answer to questions that are based on teamwork. Be sure to say that you listened to the report and assigned team tasks based on each team member's strengths. He then worked hard as part of a team to carry out his particular job to the highest possible standards. He then supported other team members and also worked very hard to achieve a successful outcome.
This is how you should answer questions based on teamwork. Question number twelve: What did you not like about your last job? This is a tough question and I guess it's okay to say, "Well, actuallyThere wasn't much I didn't like," but it's better to give away something you didn't like. So don't say you don't like your boss, a particular team member, or a co-worker. Avoid this at all costs. But you could say this: “There really wasn't anything I didn't like; however, I found my employer's lack of ambition a little frustrating at times because I felt like they could have achieved a lot more.
In fact, I'm a pretty positive person. and enthusiastic, and I would have loved if your future plans had been more ambitious.” That shows that you are someone who is ambitious and enthusiastic, which is very attractive to any employer. Or you could even say this… “Well, there was really nothing that happened. I didn't dislike it. However, I felt that my skills and qualities were not always used to their full potential. While I always did my job appropriately, professionally and on time, I felt that I could have done much more for my employer, if I had. the opportunity".
That just shows that you're in a job where your skills aren't being fully utilized, but you're going to work for this company they're interviewing you for, and they have the opportunity to really use someone who is positive and enthusiastic! Interview question number 13: What three things would your last boss say about you? So what three things would your last boss say about you? They could say that you were reliable and trustworthy and that when you were given a job, he or she knew you would do it to the correct standard and on time. That's a great thing.
Or they could say that: “The standards of work you delivered were the benchmark for others to follow”, that's brilliant! "The standards of work that you delivered with the benchmark for other people to follow." Or that your positive, professional and hard-working nature always rubs off on others, and that he or she can trust you to do your job correctly, on time and to expected standards. So you can take note of those three things and use them when you're asked the interview question: What three things would your last boss say about you? Interview question fourteen of our top twenty one interview questions.
Which are yours expectecions of Salari? Now, this usually happens towards the end of the interview, and if you're asked this tough interview question, this is how you should approach it, because what you don't want to do is give a low salary that you're kicking yourself. later because you will stay with that salary for at least 12 months. But you also don't want to trust too much and say something that doesn't appeal to them. So here we explain how to do it. Firstly, do some research, go online and see what the standard average salary is for your position within the industry.
So a great website to do that research is GlassDoor.com... which will give you the salary range for your particular area, for your job, the job you're applying for. So, let's say the salary range for your job is, for example, $21,000 to $27,000. You could say, I think I'm worth the upper range of $27,000, but I'm willing to accept a salary slightly less than $25,000 because I understand that I have to show that I am going to be a great candidate for the position. So that is a good option to follow. So, you've done some research and it says the salary range for this job is twenty-one thousand to twenty-seven thousand.
I think I'm worth the high end. However, I understand that you know that you are employing me. You don't know me yet. I have to prove it to you, so I'm willing to take a slightly lower salary, $25,000, and I'll show you how good I am, and that will give you a salary that you'll be happy with. But later on, if you're really good at your job, you can come back and say, okay, I've done a great job over the last 12 months, would you increase my salary? Then that works for you. And that, more importantly, works for them too.
Interview question number 15. Can you give me an example of a difficult situation you faced in a previous job and how you dealt with it? So can you give me an example of a difficult situation you faced at a previous job and how you dealt with it? So the last part, how you handle it, is really important. Here's a great answer to this difficult interview question. “I was working as part of a team when my manager came in and told us that the timeline for completing the project had been significantly reduced. This meant that we now only had seven days to successfully complete the project.
I approached the situation by being positive, putting in the extra hours necessary to complete the project and also motivating other team members to do the same.” If you want to pause the video at this point and write it, feel free to do so. That's a great answer to that difficult interview question. Question number 16. Explain the gaps in your employment? This is a difficult matter, very, very difficult. But first and foremost, always be honest and direct about why you were absent from work. And the reason is that being honest is an attractive quality for any employer. So, most people are going to be dishonest, but you don't want to get caught because if you do it later, there's a big chance or a big chance that you're going to lose your job.
So be honest. But the key here is to think about what are good reasons not to do it. So maybe you did some volunteering while you were away? Maybe you traveled where you experienced different cultures? Maybe you have to be out of work, unfortunately, to care for sick or ill family members, or maybe you are raising or supporting your family? The key is to try to reframe the reasons you were away by saying that the time I had off allowed me to improve my existing skills and I now believe I am a much better or more focused employee from that experience.
Question 17, Interview Question 17. What is your greatest achievement to date? So if you're asked what your biggest accomplishment to date is, think about a work-related situation you were in that helped the employer. So give them an achievement where there is a huge benefit to the company you worked for. Then you might say, “My biggest accomplishment to date has to be the time I worked as part of a team to secure additional sales contracts for my employer. “We worked very hard as part of a team to win the contracts and that put our employer in a great position for the future.” You're answering that question intelligently if you use something like that because you're putting yourself in the interviewer's shoes, which, as I've said throughout this tutorial, is really important.
Interview Question 18: What would you do in the first 30 days of starting? Then they give you the job. What would you do in the first 30 days? This is important to have already considered what you will do in the position. And this interview question surprises a lot of people, but not you. You will focus on three things as follows. “I would focus on three things: Firstly, I would get a full briefing from you, my manager, on what you expected of me and the standards I needed to work to. Second, I would know my team very well so I could understand the kinds of things I could do to start contributing positively to the organization's goals quickly; and finally, I would seek to complete my first major project or task in the shortest amount of time possible to show them what I am capable of within the position and also to repay the faith they have shown in me by hiring me into the position.” When you answer the interview question, what would you do in the first 30 days after starting?
Focus on those three things to get the highest interview scores possible. Question number 19: When have you had a disagreement with your boss? This is a very difficult interview question because we all disagree with our managers, but what's important is how we disagree. You might decide to say something like this: “After a team meeting, I disagreed with a proposal my boss had presented. I decided to talk to him privately to offer an alternative suggestion. I explained to him, in a respectful and professional manner, the reasons why I disagreed with him and that I thought it might be useful to explore the option I had come up with.
He listened to my suggestions but decided not to follow through with them, which I totally respected. I think it's always good to say if you don't agree with something, as long as you put the needs of the company first and do it with respect and professionalism.” Because I don't want to hire someone who just agrees with everything I say. Sometimes I want to be challenged, but I want someone to challenge me in a positive way. And if I don't agree with them, I want them to respect that too. So, that's a great answer to the interview question.
Interview Question 20. What motivates you? This, at first glance, seems like a very easy interview question to answer. But you have to be careful with what is said here. So these are the things. This is what I would say when someone says to me, what motivates you? I would say three things motivate me: doing great work for my employer, continually improving in my role, and also feeling like I am continually contributing and adding value to the company I work for. Those are three great things to say! Again, pause the video if you want to write them down.
You can use it in your answer to the interview question "What motivates you?" Question 21: Do you have any questions for the panel? You reach the end of your interview. You have answered all the questions. This question can ruin people's lives! Either they don't ask any questions or they ask stupid questions. But you'll ask smart questions that will cap off the interview and present you as the person they need to hire. So what questions are you going to ask? Here we go. Number one, what would you need me to focus on during the first few weeks of starting?
You are already thinking about taking on the position and helping the employer achieve its objectives. Next question, what are the future plans for the company? Do you have any interesting products or services launching soon? This shows that you are interested in their future. And then: What frustrates you about previous employees who held the same position I'm interviewing for today? You are already thinking about doing things the right way and to the satisfaction of your boss. He would only ask two or three questions. Choose them among them if you want to get the highest scores.
